"Yes." Qin Chu nodded. He had asked Noah, and he had given a similar answer.
Levi turned to look at him again: "After all, someone also thinks I'll create someone just like him."
That tone was a bit irritating. Qin Chu turned and stared at him: "You're quite smug, aren't you?"
“No, really no.” Levi shook his head. “When I said I had a brother, it was a hint to you, to help you realize that I had regained my memories. Who knew you would actually believe that I had a brother?”
"You call that a hint?" Qin Chu was completely bewildered.
Levi looked utterly exasperated: "Later I also mentioned that my brother is an Omega. How obvious was that implication? And then you said, 'When are you going to introduce me to my brother?'"
"..." Qin Chu felt a little embarrassed.
Levy sighed, "I should have just shoved a mirror in front of you back then."
Qin Chu thought back to what happened back then and suddenly found it somewhat amusing.
But after he laughed, he felt Levi lean close to his ear and ask, "So you were jealous back then?"
"Isn't this showing off?" Qin Chu turned his head away to avoid the question.
“No, it really isn’t.” Levi rested his chin on his shoulder. “I was terrified when I saw you getting angry at yourself.”
"What are you scared of?" Qin Chu didn't believe it.
“Given your personality, once you find out I’ve regained my memory, won’t you take all your anger out on me?” Levy said.
Qin Chu was about to vent her anger on him.
Levi quickly stepped half a meter to the side, reached into his pocket, and tossed a transparent pressure ball to Qin Chu: "Here, squeeze it if you want to vent your anger."
Qin Chu looked at the pressure ball for a while, then realized: "You carry this thing with you around for me to squeeze?"
“Of course.” Levy moved back a little more. “When you filmed that video, were you thinking of squeezing a ball? You were clearly squeezing me.”
After playing with it for a while, Qin Chu didn't squeeze it, and instead tossed the ball back.
"Don't like it?" Levy caught the ball and reached out his hand. "Then... pinch me?"
"..." Qin Chu slapped his hand away and stood up from the ground. "I'm sleepy, go back to sleep."
“Okay.” Levy smiled.
He really enjoyed teasing Qin Chu; the angrier Qin Chu got, the happier he was. He just wanted to see the cold, aloof Qin Chu, because he wanted to see her lose her composure.
But that only applies when Qin Chu is usually energetic; now that he's listless, he doesn't want to tease him.
It's too late; the curfew has long passed.
Qin Chu didn't plan to go back to the Omega dormitory; he slept in the art studio for the night.
Levy didn't leave either.
Last time he even slipped the key under the door, but this time he just swaggered in.
It can only be said that his previous caution and restraint were genuine, and his current shamelessness is also genuine.
Qin Chu was too lazy to argue with him, and didn't want to live in a cramped place like a hideout, so she simply pulled out the bed that had been put in the hideout as well.
One for each of them, just right.
The next morning, as soon as Qin Chu opened his eyes, he reached out and pressed his hand against the back of his neck.
The skin around the gland felt even more uncomfortable, and it was also burning and painful.
He slept quite soundly last night, and now he's in a daze even suspecting that someone bit him during the night.
The pain in the back of my neck lasted for a while before gradually returning to normal.
Qin Chu subconsciously glanced at Levi next to him and, seeing that the man was still asleep, inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.
I went to the bathroom to check my glands, and there was nothing wrong, except for some redness and swelling, which seemed to indicate that my estrus period was approaching.
When Qin Chu came out, Levi was already awake and sitting on his bed staring at Qin Chu's bed.
He said, "Shall I put the bed back for you?"
"Why put it back?" Qin Chu asked.
“What if you’re in heat… right?” Levy said.
Qin Chu paused almost imperceptibly, then casually bent down to tie his shoelaces, saying in a flat tone, "It's alright, I know what I'm doing."
“That’s true, you Omegas all know about time.” Levi nodded.
For some reason, Qin Chu felt like punching someone after hearing these words.
He looked up at Levi and got down to business: "I'm going to check out the military academy."
"When? Now?" Levy asked.
Qin Chu nodded.
He still had some doubts.
What is the purpose of creating a person who is already dead in the real world in the virtual world? Is this related to the mastermind's behavior of imprisoning humans?
The world is teeming with diverse human consciousness, so Qin Chu has to think things through more deeply.
Levi wasn't too surprised. Qin Chu's adoptive father was the principal of the previous military academy in this world, and his photo was still displayed in the Hall of Fame. It was only natural for Qin Chu to want to look him up.
“I can take you there.” Levi yawned, then pointed to his face. “Give me a kiss.”
Qin Chu: "..."
Seeing his expression, Levi laughed: "Just kidding, did you really take it seriously? So afraid of kissing me, does that mean you've always had ulterior motives towards me, and now you're feeling guilty?"
He said both good and bad things.
"Are you itching for a beating so early in the morning?" Qin Chu's temple veins throbbed.
“Alright, let’s get down to business.” Levi stretched. “Military academies are usually closed off, and outsiders aren’t allowed in. But if you want to get in, we can sneak in. However, I must warn you that if that data entity similar to your adoptive father was deliberately placed there by the mainframe, forcing your way into the military academy is not a good choice.”
Qin Chu had obviously thought of this as well, and frowned in thought.
Then Levy added, "But now there's a good opportunity: the military academy's anniversary celebration."
"When is the school anniversary celebration?" Qin Chu asked.
“Five days later,” Levy said.
Five days later.
Qin Chu got up from his dormitory and went to the bathroom to take another look at the back of his neck.
The timing of this school anniversary celebration is probably incompatible with his birth chart.
According to the conventional method of calculating the estrus cycle, tomorrow is his estrus period.
This timing is usually not very accurate; it's either a few days later or a few days earlier. The good news is that Qin Chu felt fine when he woke up today, so it seems unlikely that it will be earlier than expected.
However, as is usually the case, it is not recommended for Omegas to go out at this time.
The personal terminal beeped.
Qin Chu peeked out.
Levy: I'm downstairs.
Qin Chu did not reply, but picked up a can of concealer and sprayed it on the red and swollen back of his neck.
After leaving the restroom, he put on his coat, zipped up his turtleneck uniform all the way to the top, and ran his fingers over the zipper buckle to make sure it was in good working order.
Qin Chu's previous uniform had its buckles chewed up by Levi, rendering it unusable.
Thinking that there was nothing to prepare, Qin Chu opened the door and prepared to walk out.
Just before leaving, he remembered something, went back to find his medicine box, took out a small syringe, and put it in his pocket.
This is an emergency suppressant.
Qin Chu originally wanted to use this thing, but later learned that hormone levels are unstable during the first estrus cycle. If he rashly used an inhibitor, it could turn the estrus cycle into an uncontrollable time bomb.
Since it's a bomb anyway, Qin Chu would rather it be more controllable, so that it wouldn't suddenly cause an accident while walking one day.
However, it's still good to have this on hand, just in case there are any special circumstances.
When Qin Chu came downstairs, Levi had been waiting for a while and had even bought breakfast.
"Why is it so slow today?" Levy asked.
"...The bathroom light was broken, so I replaced it temporarily." Qin Chu lied without changing his expression.
Levy had obviously just asked casually, and after grunting in response, handed him the breakfast.
Qin Chu stood in front of the dormitory and looked around. He noticed that quite a few Omegas had come out at this time, and most of them were waiting with military academy students.
“They’re probably all going to the school anniversary celebration,” Levy said.
"So many?" Qin Chu was somewhat surprised.
“Yes, many art students are curious about military academies, and they all say it’s a great opportunity for a date,” Levy said.
Qin Chu didn't speak, but looked up at Levi.
Levi also looked at Qin Chu.
After a short while, Levi gave in: "Okay, it's not a date, we're going to do something serious."
As he spoke, he pointed ahead: "Because there are too many people at the base who are going there to do serious business, the base has specially arranged a bus to take us to the military academy. It's voluntary to ride."
Qin Chu glanced at it and realized that it was the same car he had used on the last field trip.
With the thought that "might as well do it if it's free," Qin Chu got into the car, and Levi magically produced another handful of candy.
"...Why did you still keep it?" Qin Chu was speechless, thinking of the last time he was covered in sugar.
"Tsk, what do you mean? I just bought it yesterday," Levy said.
Qin Chu looked at him and asked, "Oh, so where did all that left over from last time go?"
"..."
Answering this question incorrectly could be fatal, since alphas generally don't like to eat this kind of thing.
Levi paused for two seconds, then readily changed his mind: "Okay, actually it's what was left over from last time, I've been keeping it all this time."
Qin Chu picked up a piece of candy and put it in his hand, mentally instructing Noah: "Check the surroundings and rule out eavesdropping."
