Puits profond - Chapitre 12
“There was nothing to be afraid of. However…” Yuan Peilin looked at the girl’s somewhat weak body, “Your physical condition is not very good right now.”
Qing Lin Anxue didn't say anything more and turned to continue walking forward. Seeing that she didn't seem to mind, Yuan Peilin quickly followed.
"Qinglin, are you still injured?" Yuan Peilin finally couldn't help but ask.
"It's already healed." Qing Lin Anxue looked down at her shadow.
"So... you seem so listless, are you still bothered by that failed attempt at blood combination?"
The long-haired girl didn't answer immediately, keeping her head down. A truck roared past, kicking up a gust of air that hit them in the face.

Reply [28]: "...Before this, I had never failed." Qinglin Anxue said slowly, "At that time, I didn't know what failure felt like. I was very confident...I really thought there was no monster I couldn't defeat."
"But... facing the Blood Alliance, I was so vulnerable, so fragile and laughable. I... was simply not worthy of being the heir of the Qinglin family! If I had been killed back then, it would have been better..."
"Really! Then I've suffered for nothing!" Yuan Peilin sighed.
Qing Lin Anxue looked up at her senior, puzzled.
Yuan Peilin raised his right arm: "My wound still hurts!"
"……sorry."
"Fool! If we died because of failure, humanity would have gone extinct long ago! If you lose confidence, you should try to regain it! Aren't humans animals that gain experience through repeated failures...?" Yuan Peilin said softly, stroking the long-haired girl's shiny black hair. Qinglin Anxue, however, did not react at all to her senior's affectionate gesture.
"Hmm... thank you. I feel much better after saying it out loud." Qing Lin Anxue's tone seemed a little more at ease, and then she bowed slightly. "Senior, we're almost there. You should go back now."
Yuan Peilin nodded, stopped and watched Qing Lin Anxue disappear into the darkness before turning back.
The streets are now even more deserted, with only the occasional vehicle passing by. Crow stayed at home and didn't come along, so Yuan Peilin could only stroll slowly by himself. Fortunately, he was a person who liked peace and quiet, so he didn't feel bored.
Thinking back on it carefully, I realize I've been getting increasingly nosy lately. I shake my head with a wry smile, knowing I need to be more restrained in the future. Otherwise, it'll definitely cause a lot of trouble, and my peaceful life will be ruined.
While pondering, he suddenly saw a person standing in front of him on the road—no, judging from the figure, it should be described as a child. Taking a closer look, Yuan Peilin stopped. It was the boy who had come out of Class 1-A. He had a smug expression on his face. This strange appearance…could it be a monster? But there was no demonic aura…
"It's so late, aren't you afraid of getting scolded by your parents for not going home to sleep?" Although the other person seemed to have ill intentions, Yuan Peilin still kindly reminded him.
"Hmph, I have a habit before I go to sleep..." The boy crossed his arms and answered in an adult's tone, though it didn't match his childish face at all, "It's about teaching people a lesson!"
"Teaching someone a lesson?" Yuan Peilin looked behind him and asked in a questioning tone, "Who is it?" Although he knew it was referring to himself, he still wanted to tease him.
"Stop talking nonsense! It's you!" The boy clenched his fists, looking like he was about to exert force. In fact, there was indeed a change—the temperature around him dropped.
Huh? Isn't that freezing energy? Suddenly, the boy crossed his arms and swung them out, sending a fan-shaped shard of ice flying towards him. He immediately ducked and leaped into the air, narrowly avoiding it. But then, in a flash, the boy jumped over him too, his small fist, carrying freezing energy, aimed at his face.
With a swift movement, he extended one hand, gathering some spiritual energy to resist the freezing air, and successfully clenched his fist. The boy gritted his teeth, bent his legs, and kicked again. To avoid getting his clothes dirty, Yuan Peilin had no choice but to let go, and both of them landed back on the ground. As the boy landed, he jumped back sharply, as if afraid of being ambushed.
"Are you from the Qinglin family?" Yuan Peilin wanted to confirm. Actually, there aren't many people who can use spiritual freezing energy, and the Qinglin family is the only one in this city, so it's pretty much certain. Besides, this boy came from Class A of the first year, so he should probably have some connection to Qinglin Anxue.
The boy looked fierce and said, "None of your business!"
"I'm Qinglin Anxue's senior..." Yuan Peilin couldn't understand why he would be attacked by the Qinglin family, even though he was just a little kid.
"Shut up! Don't call my sister's name! You're definitely trying to make a move on her! You're not allowed to go near her again!"
"Oh... so you're Qinglin Anxue's younger brother." Yuan Peilin finally understood the situation; he was a righteous little devil who wanted to protect his beautiful older sister.
"I told you! You're not allowed to call my sister by her name!!" The boy's round eyes widened.
"Shuyi!"
Just as the boy was about to rush forward and fight, a girl's voice came from behind Yuan Peilin. Upon hearing this, the boy immediately suppressed his anger, and Yuan Peilin turned around to look. It was Qinglin Anxue, who had returned.
"It's so late, why are you still fooling around here!" Qing Lin Anxue walked to the boy's side, then turned to Yuan Peilin, "I'm sorry, senior, I've caused you trouble again."
Yuan Peilin smiled and touched his neck: "I never expected that this hysterical child is your younger brother."
"Yes, his name is Qinglin Shuyi. He's been spoiled since he was a child. After he found out that you saved me, he became a little resentful."
"What...!" Qinglin Shuyi pouted. "I'm not upset at all. This bad guy is definitely trying to gain my sister's trust, and then..."
"Shu Yi! Stop talking nonsense!" At this moment, a blush appeared on Qing Lin Anxue's face.
Yuan Peilin was fortunate enough to see Qinglin Anxue, who was like an older sister, and felt that she had become much more real in his heart.
“Actually…” Yuan Peilin suddenly felt it necessary to say something good about the child, “Your younger brother is a very good child.”
"Why?"
"Your skills are already quite good. You'll definitely become a champion of justice in the future. Keep it up, Shu Yi!"
"Damn it!" That's what Qinglin Shuyi yelled back.
"..." What an unlovable child.
But I feel pretty good today.

"Father, what do you need me for?" Qinglin asked.
"It's a day off today, right..."
"Yes."
