I forced a super sweet smile and said, "Your Excellency, would you be interested in going on a trip to Huai Mountain with me?"

My latest plan: First, establish my identity, lest I be mistaken for a monster.

Mo Yu grinned in an incredibly smug way, "With a date with such a beauty, I could never be happier."

I resisted the urge to slap away the goosebumps all over my body and kept laughing. "Tomorrow, how about tomorrow?"

"good."

Finally, after getting rid of that dead fox, I jumped up and frantically patted my clothes off.

After a long silence, Ru Ying finally couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing?"

"Goosebumps! Don't you have any?" I exclaimed dramatically.

Ru Ying choked slightly, then a smile curled at the corners of her lips.

Chapter 57 Nighttime Assassin

The night was very dark.

I curled up in the corner of the bed, feeling sleepy.

I think I've caught my owl's habits; I'm a night owl. I seem to remember that "night owl" originally referred to owls, right?

However, the reason I'm staying up so late tonight isn't because I can't sleep, but rather because I have some inexplicable unease.

The moonlight slowly crept up the windowsill and gradually climbed into the bedside.

A silent figure suddenly flashed by, and a bright, gleaming blade shot towards them.

I screamed in fright and jumped out of bed.

The tip of the knife stopped an inch in front of my nose, trembling slightly, but it didn't move.

My hands and feet went icy cold in an instant, my lips trembled, and my gaze slowly moved upwards along the knife. A beautiful, pale hand with even and graceful joints, a long black robe, a slender and elegant neck, a black veil, eyes as cold as a star and as deep as an abyss, exuded a murderous aura that could shatter one's heart and freeze one's very bones.

This is an assassin.

She was a beautiful killer who had murdered countless people.

I suddenly collapsed, feeling an urge to cry.

"You're here to see me? Are you sure you're not mistaken?" I asked. It's best to clarify things first; it would be unfair to become someone else's scapegoat for no reason.

He looked at me coldly, but a sly glint suddenly flashed in his eyes. Although I didn't know why he hadn't made a move yet, he remained silent.

"If you don't say anything, that means you're not denying it, and if you're not denying it, then you haven't made a mistake." I said hoarsely, "You've dealt with all my people outside? You didn't kill them, did you?"

﹏﹏

"Still not saying anything, then that means they didn't kill them. Mr. Assassin, you said you didn't kill them. If they are dead, I won't let you off the hook." I tentatively shifted my buttocks and slowly slid down to sit.

The assassin stared intently at me, his gaze unwavering. The tip of the knife moved with my movement, remaining perfectly still in front of my nose.

Well﹏

"Who hired you to kill me?" I asked, trying to make small talk, not really expecting an answer. Aren't assassins supposed to have professional ethics and never reveal their employers? My goal was to reach the small, protruding piece of wood on the edge of the bed and press it down.

"Chu Yanlou, Chu Xiang." The assassin spoke unexpectedly, startling me. It took me a while to realize he was answering me.

"Uh, Chu Yanlou? Chu Xiang?"

"Yes, by helping Zhongfangyuan like this, you've stolen business from Chuyanlou. Their income has already dropped by almost half. How can they do business if they don't kill you?" the assassin kindly explained.

I was so scared I was almost stunned.

—Have I ever heard of such an assassin?

"Um, um, who are you?" Since you're so easy to talk to, could we get to know each other?

The assassin proudly raised his head: "Dark Night, the number one assassin in the world."

He's really good at making friends. I was stunned.

“﹏﹏Uh, nice to meet you.”

But the world's number one assassin? I didn't realize I was so valuable. Chu Yanlou was actually willing to pay such a high price to hire such an assassin to kill me.

It's an honor.

Chapter 58 Drugs

“Um, Dark Night, can I call you that? Would you like some water?” I pointed to the table behind him, where there was a complete tea set.

“Okay.” Dark Night nodded, but didn’t move.

I looked into his eyes, forcing a smile, and slowly reached for the knife that had been dangling near my nose for so long. Dark Night didn't move, letting me take the knife, only raising an eyebrow.

I breathed a sigh of relief and smiled broadly.

"Hehe, have some tea, have some tea." I chuckled and crawled off the bed, as if to pour him some tea.

Dark Night turned around and made way for me.

That's right, this is the spot. I'm standing here so perfectly, it's like heaven is helping me.
