Глава 18

Two or three minutes later—

"What do you want?"

"What do you want from me?"

The two exchanged glances, both intelligent enough to immediately understand the real reason behind Liang's use of Qimen Dunjia. Ruohui muttered, "Childish!" Feng Jiayue sneered, "Boring!" Both were startled by the other's words, looked at each other, and then couldn't help but chuckle.

Feng Jiayue cleared his throat. Even the student council president, who had given countless eloquent speeches, found speaking a chore. No wonder seasoned CCTV announcers sometimes had to attend refresher courses for retraining when necessary. He coughed lightly again—

"Is your hand feeling any better?"

"Is your face feeling any better?"

The two looked at each other for a moment.

Feng Jiayue leaned closer to her, tapped his left cheek, and said with infinite grievance, "It hurts here." Had she ever practiced discus? Sigh, he felt more and more sorry for that sleazy guy from back then. "However, I don't mind if you practice on me again after your hand is fully healed." It's okay, he would try his best to create more opportunities.

The blush on the person's face gradually spread. Ruohui stood up, stomped her foot, and ran away. She had initially felt a little apologetic! Sigh, what does it mean to reap what you sow?

However, she couldn't help but feel a sweet feeling slowly spreading in her heart.

Feng Jiayue rested one hand on the table, watching that light and graceful figure with an outrageously large backpack, just like back then, exuding an indescribable carefree and unrestrained charm.

He is enjoying this process.

In her presence, he truly displayed a very, very perverse sense of humor.

He chuckled softly and took off after them.

If it could be like this forever, wouldn't that be nice?

"Don't you usually eat vegetarian food, except for duck neck?" Someone casually tapped the rice bowl and then passed over a piece of duck neck.

I made two portions, all for her.

"Hmm—" With delicious food in front of her, and duck neck clearly having a better market share than him, she didn't bother with even a few words.

A head leaned closer, whispering as if afraid someone would hear: "Hey, actually duck tongues taste pretty good too—" The voice trailed off, and even those craning their necks couldn't hear a thing.

Three seconds later, Xi Ruohui looked up, glaring angrily: "Feng Jiayue—"

The person whose name was called ignored him and smiled faintly. "Hmm, pronounced so clearly, it's clear you've been practicing diligently lately." He continued to feed her the duck necks with satisfaction.

Two pairs of eyes were watching intently from a short distance away.

"Sigh, Jia Yue is becoming more and more like a private hired hand." Liang Yiqun lamented that even a lowly vegetable deliveryman was losing his edge.

"What do you know?!" her older cousin retorted without hesitation. Fine, a month had passed, she'd given up! He was always polite to her, but one day, perhaps she would too…

Who knows?!

What is happiness?

It turns out, she was always right next to me.

Just around the next street corner, at the turning point in life.

In early summer, another graduating class of senior high school students was approaching graduation at Z Middle School. A tense atmosphere permeated the peaceful campus. However, one boy seemed completely unaffected by this atmosphere of impending doom. Early in the morning, in the fresh air, he strolled past groups of students or those studying alone, and walked along a winding bamboo path.

He hadn't walked a few steps when a girl's clear voice suddenly called out from behind, "Feng Jiayue, Feng Jiayue!" The boy whose name was called frowned and turned around to look. A girl staggered towards him, stopping abruptly just in front of him.

Feng Jiayue frowned again, looking at her. She was clearly an extremely pretty girl, petite, with short, soft black hair that covered her forehead, and a pair of large, bright black eyes. She grinned at him with a very kind, silly smile, but why did he have this absurd thought—why did she look so much like McDull? The little piglet in Springfield Flower Kindergarten with a birthmark on her left eye, who loved chicken legs, only ate meat and no vegetables, was lazy, simple, optimistic, and of average talent, yet had many dreams.

Coincidentally, with his 5.1 vision, he could see a faint mole on her left eye.

The girl seemed oblivious to everything, her hands clasped in front of her chest, her feet tapping rhythmically, a smile on her face, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him—no, scrutinized him. It was as if she were eyeing a fine roast duck, and she was drooling with envy.

Feng Jiayue frowned, feigning ignorance, "You—you need something?" He was certain this unfamiliar girl wasn't a senior in high school. And he always preferred to strike first. The girl, surprisingly, replied boldly, "Of course! Why would I sacrifice sleep and get up so early to wait for you here if there wasn't something wrong?" Her eyes held not a trace of embarrassment, but rather a reproachful accusation that said, "It's all your fault." Feng Jiayue was both amused and exasperated; this girl really dared to say that.

The girl grinned again, her dimples appearing and disappearing, making her quite beautiful. "Remember, my name is Xi Ruohui, from Class 3 of the first year of high school." Looking at Feng Jiayue's expressionless face, she smiled innocently and continued, "I heard you've already been accepted into a university, and you seem quite bored all day. As your junior, it's only right that I help you out, right? Here's what we'll do: I'd like to invite you to a movie." She rummaged through her jeans pocket for a long time before finally pulling out a slightly crumpled movie ticket. "Here, take it."

Feng Jiayue was somewhat dumbfounded. He sensed a soft, boneless little hand slipping something into his hand, and then he saw a magnified smiling face flash past him. Immediately afterward, accompanied by a silvery laugh, that clear voice rang out again: "Z Middle School's big celebrity, since I, your junior, have always admired and respected you, you absolutely must come!"

When Feng Jiayue came to his senses, the small figure waved, carrying an ridiculously large backpack, and skipped and hopped away. Strangely, the simple actions of a seventeen-year-old girl possessed an inexplicable air of nonchalance. He lowered his eyes and looked at the movie ticket in his hand.

Xi Ruohui?

Many girls want to get close to him, but it seems rare to find one like her who chatters on and on from beginning to end, giving him almost no chance to speak.

He smiled faintly and continued walking forward.

CHAPTER 1 Reunion~

Two years later. October, F University.

Feng Jiayue glared menacingly at one of the names on the long list of student council recruits:

Xi, Ruo, Hui.

A chilling smile crept across his lips. Very well! She actually didn't run as far away as possible! She actually dared to show herself in front of him again, utterly fearless! He had initially thought she was planning to hide in some dark, sunless cave and live the rest of her life as a coward!

Fine! Since she's acting all nonchalant as if nothing happened, then don't blame him for not remembering our past friendship from being classmates!

He tossed aside the list and simply said, "No need for further selection, just recruit them all." Liang Yiqun, the student council vice president standing nearby, was somewhat puzzled. Wasn't it supposed to be a top 5 out of 10? But as the student council president, if he said to recruit everyone, then so be it. After all, it was a period of transition, and adding some fresh blood wouldn't hurt. However, why did Jia Yue's face look like he was gritting his teeth and sharpening a knife?
