He went out by himself before dawn?
Yan Shenyu paused, then hesitated and asked, "Could it be sleepwalking?"
"I don't know," Xie Siyan frowned. "We need to find the person before we can make a judgment."
Yan Shenyu patted his arm and gently comforted him, "Don't worry, everything will be alright."
Xie Siyan nodded, his expression softening slightly.
The equestrian club and the Xie family's old house are located at opposite ends of the city, and driving there now would require crossing most of the city.
When they were almost at the Xie family's old house, Uncle Gao called Xie Siyan to say that the person had been found. Not long ago, Old Madam Xie was found unconscious on the roadside by a passerby, who called the police, and that's how she was handed over to the Xie family.
Upon hearing this news, Xie Siyan instructed the driver to change course and drive the car to the hospital.
The fact that it wasn't a man-made accident like a kidnapping made Xie Siyan feel vaguely relieved.
Getting lost alone again...
Yan Shenyu suddenly remembered the scene when he met Old Madam Xie in Haishi.
Last time, I was safe because I ran into him. This time, I was lucky that a kind passerby called the police. But what if someone takes advantage of my vulnerability next time, or what if I encounter some other accident?
"Actually, there's something I've been keeping from you..."
After much deliberation, Yan Shenyu finally decided to tell the story of what happened in Haishi.
“That time I met Grandma Xie in Haishi, she said she bumped into me by chance while shopping,” Yan Shenyu glanced at Xie Siyan and slowly shook her head, “Actually, that’s not true. I saw her walking alone outside, and she didn’t seem quite right. That’s why I brought her to the coffee shop. She quickly sobered up and wouldn’t let me tell you, so I didn’t. But I never expected something like this to happen again…”
“She…” Yan Shenyu didn’t use the assumption that she had Alzheimer’s disease, but said tactfully, “Her health may not be very good. We can take her for a full physical examination when we have time.”
Xie Siyan stared at him quietly for a long time, his eyes filled with emotions that Yan Shenyu couldn't decipher.
After a long while, he nodded, his tense body relaxing slightly: "I understand, thank you for telling me this."
Soon, they arrived at the private hospital invested in by the Xie family.
Grandma Xie was still dizzy, and a group of doctors and nurses were surrounding her to conduct a physical examination. Yan Shenyu accompanied Xie Siyan outside to wait for the test results.
Later, Xie's uncles and elders arrived; they were all prominent figures in financial news.
Yan Shenyu, being an outsider, shouldn't be here. Seeing that Xie Siyan was unable to leave, he greeted Uncle Gao beside him and went to stay in the garden downstairs.
The private hospital was quiet in the early morning. Yan Shenyu walked alone in the garden and suddenly felt that her decision to come along had been somewhat rash.
When an elderly person in the family has an accident, all the younger generations will definitely come over. If an outsider like him comes along on a whim, it will not only make everyone feel awkward, but it will also distract Xie Siyan from paying attention to him.
Since he couldn't help much by staying at the hospital anyway, Yan Shenyu hesitated for a while before deciding to go out and buy Xie Siyan breakfast.
Before I even reached the hospital entrance, Xie Siyan called.
"Are you still in the hospital?" He spoke at the same pace as usual, his voice sounding a little low, but generally no different from his usual self.
But for some reason, Yan Shenyu felt that he was in a bad mood.
“Yes,” Yan Shenyu said. “I’m in the garden downstairs, next to a ginkgo tree.”
"Then wait for me where you are." Xie Siyan hung up the phone after saying that.
Xie Siyan arrived even faster than Yan Shenyu had anticipated. Yan Shenyu only waited a short while before a familiar figure appeared at the door. In just one glance, he saw him standing under the tree.
The next moment, Xie Siyan strode towards him.
Yan Shenyu thought he had something urgent to tell her, so she quickly went to greet him: "What is it...?"
He couldn't say the rest of his words because Xie Siyan suddenly opened his arms and hugged him tightly.
The man's arms were wrapped tightly around his body, so tightly that his bones ached slightly.
Yan Shenyu was initially a little confused, but then a bad feeling suddenly rose in his mind, and his voice began to tremble with fear.
"Grandma, Grandma, could something have happened to her?"
After a long silence, Xie Siyan's low, hoarse voice rang out: "No, she is still unconscious."
“Then you…” Yan Shenyu hesitated.
Xie Siyan silently tightened his arms without saying a word.
The old lady was fine, but the reactions of those uncles and elders were incredibly upsetting.
Grandma had only had a few accidents, but those people had already started discussing the division of her estate and were even plotting to get her to make a will that would benefit them.
Behind every seemingly glamorous extended family lies a complex web of vested interests. Beneath the surface of so-called kinship lies a sordid and unsightly mess.
Xie Siyan didn't want these upsetting things to affect Yan Shenyu, so he tightened his arms and said in a hoarse voice, "It's nothing, let me lean on you for a while."
“Oh…” Yan Shenyu stood there and let Xie Siyan rest his forehead on his shoulder.
He raised his hand and gently stroked the other's hard body, just like a parent comforting a sad child. Gradually, Xie Siyan's tense body relaxed.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Yan Shenyu touched his head again and was surprised to find that the hair in his palm was exceptionally soft.
He had assumed that someone as cold-hearted as Xie Siyan would have thick, stiff hair that was impervious to all pores, but he was surprised to find it so soft and delicate to the touch.
Yan Shenyu was stunned, and her heart softened.
It turns out that even someone like Xie Siyan has a soft spot.
A note from the author:
Mr. Xie: My hair is soft, but other parts of me are very hard.
Yan Shenyu: ? Open the door, crack down on prostitution.
Happy Qixi Festival, my darlings!
Thank you so much for your support! I will continue to work hard!
Chapter 44 Does Bird Da deserve to be cheated on?
In the parking lot of a private hospital, Fu Shuyu watched this scene intently through the car window. He gripped his knees with both hands, so tightly that his fingertips began to turn white.
Are you still going?
A man sat beside him, wearing a string of Buddhist prayer beads on his wrist, his expression a half-smile.
After a few seconds of silence, Fu Shuyu raised his chin, still the refined and elegant young master: "Of course, I'm going to see Grandma Xie, it has nothing to do with them."
"But you're trembling."
Like a sharp object striking glass, these words instantly cracked Fu Shuyu, who had been impeccable just moments before.
“You’re afraid,” Fu Da said in a statement of fact. “You’re afraid their relationship is so deep that you can’t interfere. You’re afraid that you’ll go to great lengths and end up with nothing. You’re afraid… um… hmm?”
His next words were cut off, and Fu Da looked up, somewhat surprised at the scene.
Fu Shuyu had unbuckled his seatbelt at some point. He was kneeling on the seat, his left hand gripping his collar, his right hand pressing against the back of his head, and his delicate, rose-like lips kissing him from above.
The young man's beautiful blue eyes were filled with rage, his fierce demeanor carrying a desperate resolve.
Fu Shuyu bit Fu Da's upper lip hard until he tasted the rust, then released him and calmly said, "Fu Da, don't provoke me."
The latter licked his lips and smiled calmly: "If angering you can bring this kind of treatment, then that doesn't seem so bad..."
Fu Shuyu interrupted him: "I agree to your request."
Fu Da raised an eyebrow: "Don't you think I'm a pervert?"
Fu Shuyu wiped her lips hard with the back of her hand and said coldly, "You disgust me."
Fu Da laughed happily: "Aren't you afraid of damaging the family's honor?"
"What's between us," Fu Shuyu looked up at him, her face devoid of any smile, "I will not allow a third person to know."
Fu Da nodded thoughtfully: "A secret relationship."
"Who said you're in love with me?" Fu Shuyu looked at him coldly, her face showing undisguised disdain. "You said that as long as I agree to your request, you will help me."
Fu Da looked down at him, his gaze deep and intense.
Fu Shuyu raised an eyebrow and said sarcastically, "What, is Uncle going to regret it...?!"
Before he could finish speaking, an incredibly strong force slammed him hard into the back seat of the car. Before Fu Shuyu could even resist, a sharp pain shot through his lips.
The man who had been smiling just moments before was now tearing at him like a wild beast. Even Fu Shuyu's punches and kicks couldn't budge him an inch.
After an unknown amount of time, the beast finally released its grip on him.
“No, I have no regrets.” Fu Da raised his hand and gently stroked the young man’s cheek, his tone incredibly gentle. “I was just thinking about how to collect my payment.”
Fu Shuyu looked up at him angrily.
His blond hair was completely disheveled, his tie had been loosened by the man, two buttons on his shirt were undone, and one of them was even ripped.
Fu Shuyu's clothes were disheveled, but her expression was as proud as a queen's: "Are you satisfied with your payment?"
"It's alright." Fu Da reached out to tidy his messy hair, then retied his tie, and said gently, "It's impolite to dress like this when visiting elders."
His movements were meticulous and earnest, just like a truly loving elder.
...
Yan Shenyu ran into Fu Shuyu before leaving the hospital.
The other person was wearing a pure white suit, and had a gentle and bright smile.
Upon seeing him, she immediately came over and said warmly, "You've come to see Grandma Xie too? I heard she's woken up?"
"She's been awake for a while now, and she's fine," Yan Shenyu said. "Xie Siyan is taking care of her upstairs."
"It's good that you're here with Siyan," Fu Shuyu breathed a sigh of relief and said gratefully, "You've really worked hard."
Yan Shenyu nodded, said goodbye, and turned to leave.
On his way home, he suddenly remembered that his luggage was still at the hotel. He called Yan Sheng and asked her to bring it back for him.
The latter replied, "I've already packed everything for you, and I'm almost home now."
"Thanks." Yan Shenyu breathed a sigh of relief.
