Kapitel 19

If Mommy could see Daddy like this, she would be so ashamed, right?

Philip handed Joel a glass of wine, which Joel silently downed in one gulp. Philip refilled his glass, which Joel again drank in one go. Philip refilled it again, and Joel downed it in an instant once more...

"That should be enough, right?" Du Yunhao thought to himself, while coughing lightly twice.

"Hey Daddy, also, Mommy doesn't have much money available, so... cough cough, so I asked her to use the supplementary card you gave her, that should be fine, right?"

Suddenly, everyone's movements were frozen in time, as if a video recorder had been paused.

The glass was still at his lips when Joel slowly turned around and asked softly, "Jay, what did you just say?"

Du Yunhao shrugged. "I mean, if you really miss my mommy, wouldn't you know where they're hiding and having fun as soon as the bill comes? If you're in a real hurry, you can also ask the credit card company to notify you when someone uses a supplementary card, right?"

"What the hell!" Joel cursed, half-laughing and half-crying. "Why didn't you say so sooner?"

"That way you won't learn your lesson!" Du Yunhao retorted confidently.

"Damn it!" David cursed as well. "And they said we'd never find her!"

Du Yunhao suddenly grinned. "Mommy decided to 'give' Daddy some time to calm down and think things through carefully about what Daddy really wants! She said that when she's in a better mood, she'll naturally consider whether to come back to Daddy."

Philip barely suppressed the urge to burst out laughing at Joel. "I think you'd better hurry up and take care of what you need to take care of, otherwise if Xixi keeps being in a bad mood, you'll be in for a long time." After saying that, he quickly hid to the side and chuckled.

“Jay, you…” Joel planned to give Du Yunhao a good beating, making it impossible for him to sit down for days.

Seeing that his father seemed genuinely angry, Du Yunhao quickly tried to clear his name. "Daddy, Mommy told me to do it, so you can't blame me. And don't forget, I was the one who asked Mommy to use your supplementary card, so that counts as doing you a favor, right?"

Joel sighed. "Oh well! I guess I brought this on myself."

Du Yunhao nodded seriously. "Good to know, Daddy."

Joel glared at him, and Mary, seeing this, quickly diverted Joel's attention.

"Joel, what are you going to do now?"

"What should we do?" Joel smiled wryly. "Let's get on with what needs to be done!"

Chapter Eight: Threads of Love Author: Yu Xin

"President, Princess Chris has arrived."

Joel opened the door. "Princess."

His long, strong hand gently grasped her soft hand, his burning thighs pressed against the back of his hand, sending a shiver down her spine. Princess Chris bit her lower lip, suppressing the desire rising within her. With each passing moment she saw him, her feelings for him grew stronger, and her longing for his body intensified. When? When would he be willing to extinguish the raging fire within her?

"President." Her voice was slightly hoarse.

“Princess, please.” Joel glanced at the princess’s attendant who was about to follow him in. “Princess, may we speak alone?”

"Of course." She gestured to the attendant behind her, who then stopped following.

After closing the door, Joel said, "Please have a seat," and walked to the bar. "What would you like to drink?"

"Tea"

Joel nodded, bent down and took out a tea canister from the cabinet below, his elegant hands moving with practiced skill and his expression serious and focused.

"Your movements are very skillful."

“Ten years ago, an old Chinese man taught me. He said that only real skill can brew good tea. So I spent some time learning it.” Joel placed a steaming cup of tea on the low table. “It’s not quite like the tea that Westerners usually drink. Try it and see. If you don’t like it, I’ll brew another cup.”

Princess Chris carefully picked up the teacup.

"Take a sniff first, then drink."

She brought the teacup to her nose and exclaimed, "It smells so good!"

"Now, take a sip, but don't swallow it right away. Let it linger in your mouth for a moment to moisten your mouth, and then slowly let it flow down your throat."

Princess Chris did as she was told. “How sweet! I’ve never had such sweet tea before!” she exclaimed sincerely.

"Just enjoy yourself." He picked up another cup of tea, walked to the glass curtain wall, and stood there, gazing thoughtfully outside.

Princess Chris sipped her tea, admiring his handsome profile. "What are you thinking about?" she asked softly.

“I think that was a real farce,” Joel said, shaking his head in exasperation.

“You mean…Judy Sue’s birthday party?” she asked tentatively.

Joel sipped his tea. "She should know I can't marry her."

"Can I know why?" A glimmer of hope rose in Princess Chris's heart.

"Because I love another woman." He was still gazing out the window.

"Is...is it?" Her voice trembled slightly. Is it me? Please, tell me, the person you love is me!

"Yes, a woman I've known for ten years."

"Ten...ten years ago?" Princess Chris muttered to herself in a daze.
