"I don't care, I'm not moving out, and there's absolutely no room for negotiation!" Ye Xun said before leaving.
Tong Tong was left alone in the living room again.
"If none of you listen, I'll just keep waiting here!" Tong Tong declared loudly in the living room.
Tong Tong lay on the living room sofa reading comics, her intermittent laughter occasionally drifting into Yang Ke and Ye Xun's ears. Around her were the spoils she had snatched from the two of them—Yang Ke's MP3 player, Ye Xun's game console, Yang Ke's tea, Ye Xun's coffee...
Yang Ke opened the door and peeked at Tong Tong in the living room, then sent Ye Xun a message: "You've lived with Tong Tong for three years, she can't have been like this forever, can she?"
"Of course not! Otherwise I would have gone crazy long ago!" Ye Xun replied.
“I’ve been feeling like she’s been acting strange these past few days!” Yang Ke said.
"That's because of love. Women in love are always abnormal! And that's what you got into trouble with!" Ye Xun said sarcastically.
"How can you blame me? You're adorable when you're in love. At most, you'll be crying your eyes out, but at least you're safe!" Yang Ke retorted in kind.
"Thank you for the compliment! But please don't ask for it again next time. I'll remember your kindness!"
"This is the tenth night since Tong Tong came!" Yang Ke said.
"Yes! She was relatively stable on the first night, sleeping quietly by herself in the living room!"
"But the next day she came and took my bed. Luckily I held my ground and escaped unharmed, but she took my blanket!" Yang Ke complained.
"On the third day, she took my pillow, so I'm still using a sofa cushion now!"
"But on the fourth day, she took my MP3 player with a strong sense of justice, claiming it was interfering with my studies, and made me thank her repeatedly!"
"She was quite polite to me! On the fifth night, she quietly slipped into my room, woke me up when she took the game console, and then very politely said 'Goodnight' to me!"
"On the sixth day, when I was cleaning the clogged sink, I saw it was filled with tea leaves. I cried, and held a simple funeral for my box of tea leaves!"
"On the morning of the seventh day, while I was combing my hair, I discovered that my spare box of coffee was also gone. My heart ached; this was a deep mourning for them!"
“It’s all because of you. If you hadn’t moved in, I believe she wouldn’t have tormented me like this!” Yang Ke said.
"Turning the tables!" Ye Xun retorted without backing down. "She came here entirely for you. If you had agreed to her request sooner, everyone could have had some peace and quiet!"
"Those who walk different paths cannot make plans together!"
"Same to you!"
The next morning, Yang Ke and Ye Xun woke up to find that Tong Tong was missing. The two searched every room and even the rooftop, but they couldn't find any trace of Tong Tong.
"She must have gone home!" Ye Xun said with a smile.
Yang Ke finally breathed a sigh of relief, but then he suddenly remembered something and asked Ye Xun, "Now that she's gone, what about you? When are you moving out?"
"The answer is simple!" Ye Xun said firmly, "I will never move out!"
"I'll find a way to get you out of here!" Yang Ke shouted, but Ye Xun had already gone into her room and completely ignored him.
The cold war lasted all morning, and by noon it had escalated into a full-blown fight—the two were fighting over water at the sink to do their laundry. Just then, the door opened automatically again, and a suitcase was pushed in first. Standing behind the suitcase was Tong Tong.
"Yang Ke, Ye Xun, I have some good news to tell you—I've decided to move in here!" Tong Tong said.
"Move over here?" Yang Ke and Ye Xun asked in unison.
"Yes! I want to spend this summer vacation with you guys. Otherwise, wouldn't Yang Ke be too lonely by himself? Also, I'm worried about Ye Xun too!"
"No need!" Yang Ke said, "With her as a neighbor, I'm never lonely!"
"That's right!" Ye Xun agreed, "With Yang Ke here, you don't need to worry!"
"No!" Tong Tong said angrily. "Then I'll be even less able to leave!"
Tong Tong put her luggage in the living room, looking like she'd rather die than leave, which immediately deflated Yang Ke and Ye Xun.
"Stop the civil war!" Yang Ke said.
"Let's unite against external threats!" Ye Xun said.
Behind the two people, their hands were clasped tightly together.

Chapter 018 The Second Round of War Begins
Updated: 2008-05-25 08:29:23 Words: 0
When Yang Ke returned home that evening, he brought a small white mouse, which he had bought while strolling in the square and named "Tao Tao." Yang Ke had intended to surprise Tong Tong and Ye Xun, but it was already past midnight when he entered the room, and Ye Xun and Tong Tong were already asleep. So he quietly placed the cage under the desk in the bedroom and then went to bed as well.
The next morning, Tong Tong woke up and sat up on the sofa. A small white creature immediately caught her eye. She rubbed her eyes and suddenly noticed a small white mouse happily munching on an apple on the table in front of the sofa. Tong Tong screamed and tumbled off the sofa. She stumbled to her feet and rushed into Ye Xun's bedroom like a madwoman, leaping onto Ye Xun's bed in one bound.
"What are you doing?" Ye Xun asked groggily. "You're not even letting anyone sleep in this morning!"
"A rat! Ye Xun, there's a rat!" Tong Tong said incoherently.
"A mouse!" Ye Xun sat up abruptly in bed, asking in a panic, "Where's the mouse? You're not lying to me again, are you?"
"It's right there on the living room table!" Tong Tong said, trembling. "She's eating the apple I peeled last night!"
Ye Xun calmed her chaotic mind, mustered her courage, got out of bed, and went to the bedroom door with her pillow. Tong Tong, trembling, followed behind Ye Xun, holding a rolled-up newspaper stick. Ye Xun peered into the bedroom for a while and spotted a small white mouse on the living room table. The two rushed over and began to beat it fiercely. The white mouse darted nimbly around them, and Ye Xun and Tong Tong were thrown into chaos, the chase turning into a flight in an instant.
Yang Ke was awakened by the noise in the living room. He lazily rolled over, then suddenly realized something. Yang Ke looked at the cage under the table; the white mouse inside was gone. Yang Ke jumped out of bed and rushed into the living room. Ye Xun and Tong Tong had cornered the white mouse against the wall, preparing to end this "mouse extermination battle."
"No!" Yang Ke rushed over to protect the white mouse, and immediately received dozens of hard blows to his head and shoulders.
"What are you doing?" Yang Ke asked, frowning and grinning.
"A rat!" Ye Xun said, pointing to the white mouse in Zhe Yangke's hand, "We must eliminate this rat!"
"What do you mean, 'eliminate'? This is murder!" Yang Ke said. "I bought this little white mouse, and I even named it 'Tao Tao'! I was planning to give it to you as a surprise gift, but who knew you two would start a killing spree first thing in the morning!"
"A gift? I think it should be a funeral!" Ye Xun said. "Why did you have to buy a rat? It scared people to death!"
"Exactly!" Tong Tong exclaimed, "Throw it away right away!"
"Throw it away?" Yang Ke was furious. "Throw it away, it will starve to death! You people are so cruel!"
"I don't care!" Ye Xun said fiercely, "If it dares to come into my room, you can just wait to collect its corpse!"
"You?" Yang Ke burst into laughter, mocking, "I'm afraid you don't have that kind of courage!"
"Don't underestimate me, I'll show you what I'm capable of!" Ye Xun said, then pushed open the door and left, not returning for a long time.
"Yang Ke, Ye Xun didn't go looking for a place to live on her own, did she?" Tong Tong said worriedly.
"That would be perfect!" Yang Ke said. "I've been dreaming about this day!"
"If she moves away, what about what you promised me...?"
"What did I promise you?" Yang Ke feigned complete ignorance.
"You're asking a question you already know the answer to!" Tong Tong said angrily.
"I wonder who's asking a question they already know the answer to!" Yang Ke muttered to himself.
Tong Tong angrily moved a stool over and launched another fierce attack on the "no" on the wall.
"You work on this every day, aren't you tired?" Yang Ke said. "If you're really interested in glue, then you might as well finish this book for me!"
Tong Tong took the book, flipped through a few pages, and said, "No way, who did this?"
"Who else could it be?" Yang Ke said helplessly. "Of course, it's that stubborn, obstinate, and incorrigible one..."
As soon as the door opened, Ye Xun returned, and Yang Ke quickly stopped talking. Ye Xun was carrying a cage, inside which was a small tabby cat.
"You're clearly going against me!" Yang Ke said angrily.
“That’s what you call one thing subduing another!” Ye Xun said smugly.
"One thing subdues another?" Tong Tong muttered to herself, suddenly realizing something. She took advantage of the two arguing and left the room.
"Let me introduce you, this adorable kitten is 'Meow Meow'!" Ye Xun said proudly. "Would you like your 'Tao Tao' to come out and shake hands with it?"
"Don't get too cocky!" Yang Ke said. "If it dares to run around, I'll teach it a lesson!"
“I think you should set aside some time to look after your ‘Tao Tao.’ If it runs around everywhere, it won’t just be cute!” Ye Xun said without backing down.
As soon as the door opened, Tong Tong came in, followed by a huge wolfhound. Ye Xun and Yang Ke were instantly terrified.
"What do you want to do?" Yang Ke shouted loudly.
“One of you has mice, and the other has a cat, so I had to get a dog for protection! Everything has its counter!” Tong Tong said. “Let me introduce you, this is the landlord’s ‘Woof Woof’!”
“I think you’re not just keeping away from mice and cats, you’re clearly keeping away from the two of us!” Ye Xun said.
"Send it back, or it will eat us both sooner or later!" Yang Ke ordered.
"Can we talk this over properly?" Tong Tong pleaded.
"No!" Ye Xun said, "You only have two choices: either you stay and it leaves, or it stays and you leave!"
"Is there a third option?" Tong Tong asked.
"No!" Yang Ke and Ye Xun said in unison.
“Every time it’s my turn, you two are in cahoots, you’re a cat and mouse family!” Tong Tong turned to leave, but suddenly stopped.
"Is there anything else?" the two asked.
“I can take ‘Wangwang’ with me, but I have one condition!” Tong Tong said.
"I'll agree to any condition as long as you get rid of it!" Yang Ke said helplessly, wanting nothing more than for the dog to disappear from his sight immediately.
"Starting tonight, I'm sleeping in the bedroom. Yang Ke, you're sleeping in the living room!"
"Why?" Yang Ke said angrily. "Why am I the one sleeping in the living room, and not her?"
“I agree with Tong Tong!” Ye Xun said. “Everything is based on the democratic principle—the minority obeys the majority! Besides, Yang Ke, you just said you could agree to any conditions!”
Tong Tong smiled happily and led the dog downstairs.
