Kapitel 2

She scrambled out of bed with light, agile movements. Although her body still ached slightly, a glance revealed only a few bruises, no large wounds whatsoever. More importantly, her lower abdomen showed no abnormalities whatsoever. This...

This is simply unbelievable!

A young girl dressed in light pink silk brought in a basin from outside. Seeing Meng Wan sitting there, she was delighted. She put down the basin, lifted the gauze curtain, and quickly walked to her side: "Miss, you're finally awake."

Meng Wan looked up and was astonished once again.

The girl in front of him had a clean smile and joy in her eyes. She stood there gracefully in front of him. Who else could it be but her personal maid, Huan Yan!

But how could this be? She was twenty years old when she died. Huan Yan was the same age as her, so she should also be twenty, but the Huan Yan before her clearly looked only fourteen or fifteen years old.

Seeing that she didn't speak and just stared at her in astonishment, Huan Yan thought that she was feeling unwell, so she quickly went over and touched her forehead. Her little face scrunched up slightly: "You don't have a fever anymore, Miss. Is there anything else that hurts?"

Her movements were gentle, and her voice was as soft as ever. For some reason, Meng Wan's eyes suddenly welled up with tears.

Huan Yan was her dowry maid. She was killed by Meng Junyao the year after Meng Wan married Huangfu Qian. She thought she would never see her again in this life, but she never expected that she would be able to see her again one day!

Meng Wan's heart stirred, and she reached out and grasped Huan Yan's small hand.

Startled by her sudden action, Huan Yan was clearly taken aback for a moment, then took Meng Wan's hand in return and smiled, "What's wrong, Miss? It's so strange. Did you fall and get confused? Wait here, I'll go find a doctor right away."

She said a few words softly and left in a hurry. Watching her retreating figure, Meng Wan was once again lost in thought.

It was only then that she remembered that in the autumn of her fifteenth year, she had indeed been seriously ill. The cause was that she had missed a step on the stairs in the attic and fallen. At the time, she thought it was just her carelessness, but now she thought it was probably not that simple.

Meng Junyao was standing nearby, and she sent Granny Su to fetch a doctor, but he hadn't returned yet. If Huanyan hadn't arrived in time to carry her back, she probably would have already passed away.

Thinking of this, her fists clenched involuntarily. Gazing at the bright blue sky outside the window, her eyes, filled with hatred, shone brightly.

God, if this lucidity is not a dream, if I am allowed to live again, I, Meng Wan, swear on my soul that the suffering I endured in my past life will be doubled for that despicable couple in this one. I will use their blood to atone for my child's spirit in heaven!

Teaching a Bad Servant a Lesson (Part 1)

Meng Wan drifted off to sleep again, and Huan Yan brought a doctor to examine her and prescribe medicine, but she was still not very clear-headed. Lying there, some images floated through her mind in a daze.

How Huangfu Qian schemed and plotted to win her favor, how she helped him overcome obstacles to ascend the throne, how Meng Junyao sowed discord between them and eventually married into the palace, and how her two children met a tragic end...

One thing after another flashed before her eyes like a dream. She clenched her forehead in pain. Just then, she heard Huan Yan's low voice: "Second Miss, please go back first. Eldest Miss has just returned from the brink of death. Please let her get some rest."

Huan Yan's voice was very low, clearly worried about disturbing Meng Wan who was sleeping inside, but Meng Wan woke up immediately.

Looking around at the scene, which was exactly as it had been before she fell into a coma, and hearing Huanyan's voice in her ear, she was almost certain that God had heard her cries and given her a second chance to live.

Overjoyed, she was about to burst into tears when a sharp, arrogant voice suddenly rang out from outside, "You brat! Second Miss came to visit Eldest Miss because she was worried about her. How dare you stop her? Are you out of your mind? Get out of my way!"

With the sound of something falling to the ground, Meng Wan froze. Her previously dazed expression suddenly changed. Looking out through the curtain, her gaze was instantly shrouded in gloom and hatred.

Granny Su, the Granny Su who watched helplessly as Huangfu Qian kicked her to death, and Meng Junyao, the instigator of all the tragedies.

Her body stiffened instantly. A breeze seeped in through the cracks in the window, falling on her thinly clad body, yet she felt no cold at all. Gazing at the figure in the distance, she seemed possessed, barefoot from her bed, and walked towards it step by step.

"Miss, why are you out of bed!"

Those at the door heard the commotion and looked inside. Huan Yan, who had been pushed to the ground, hurriedly got up, muttering that she would catch a cold if she went barefoot, and ran inside to get her shoes. Meng Wan, however, did not move at all, but just stared coldly and quietly at Meng Junyao.

She stood there wrapped in a peach-colored fox fur coat, her expression as pitiful as ever, truly beautiful. But what kind of vicious heart lay beneath such a beautiful exterior?

Looking into those clear, black and white eyes, which appeared calm and serene, yet emitted a chilling glint, Meng Junyao exchanged a glance with them and couldn't help but shiver.

Meng Wan looked at her like that, could it be that she had discovered that her fall from the attic was orchestrated by her?

But such a thought only lasted for a moment before she suppressed it in her heart.

Meng Wan always trusted her the most, how could she possibly doubt her? She must be overthinking it.

With that thought, she felt at ease. Meng Junyao quickly went up to Meng Wan and took her hand. "Sister, why did you get up? Did I disturb you just now? I didn't mean to. I was just worried about your health. How are you? Is there anything else that's bothering you?"

She spoke softly, her expression one of deep concern for her sister, while Meng Wan watched quietly, her stomach churning.

Teaching a Lesson to a Wicked Servant (Part Two)

She spoke softly, her expression one of deep concern for her sister, while Meng Wan watched quietly, her stomach churning.

It's disgusting. If she hadn't experienced so much suffering in her previous life, she would never have believed that her seemingly weak younger sister was a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Not only did she steal her husband, but she also disregarded her father's demotion in order to leave Meng Wan with no one to rely on!

"Sister?" Seeing that she didn't speak but just stared at her, Meng Junyao was startled and tentatively called out to her.

This sound pulled Meng Wan back to her thoughts from her distant memories. She met Meng Junyao's probing eyes. Meng Wan was taken aback, quickly lowered her eyes to hide the light in them, and when she raised her head again, she was already in a calm and composed manner: "I'm fine. Second sister, you've come at the right time. I have something to talk to you about."

Her heart was in turmoil, and she wanted nothing more than to slap Meng Junyao hard, but she couldn't do it!

Meng Junyao always appeared in front of everyone as gentle and harmless. If he were to make any move against her now, others would only think that he was bullying her. In that case, not only would he not be able to deal with her, but he might even make things worse.

So now she can only endure it, no matter how much she hates her, even if she wishes she were dead, she has to endure it, and then little by little, she will take off Meng Junyao's mask of pretense and expose her ugly face to the public!

"What is it? Please tell me, sister." Meng Junyao looked up at her in confusion, but Meng Wan did not explain. She pulled her hand away from hers, turned around and walked towards Su Mama who was standing to the side.

"Snap--"

The slap was heavy, fast, and vicious. Everyone present was stunned. If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, no one would have believed that the usually mild-mannered young lady would hit someone.

However, that wasn't the end of it. After the slap, Meng Wan didn't give anyone time to react. She turned to the door and said, "Guards, drag this lowly servant away and give her thirty strokes of the cane. Then send her to the storeroom to do hard labor."

Several servants rushed in from outside, but stopped in their tracks after seeing who she was pointing at: "Young Miss, is this Granny Su?"

Someone mustered up the courage to ask a question, only to be met with Meng Wan's raised eyebrows: "I know it's Granny Su. What, is there a problem?"
