Kapitel 10

Yang Feng immediately woke up from his desk, perked up, and began to listen attentively to the lesson. This last class was math, taught by a male teacher who had been teaching for several years.

Seeing Yang Feng sit up and listen to the lecture, Han Shilan's beautiful eyes showed a slight surprise. After glancing at him, she ignored him. Right now, she just wanted to throw fruit peels at Yang Feng and kill him.

However, seeing him listening to the lectures brought Han Shilan some comfort.

He used to sleep during math class because the content taught by the teacher was very difficult. If you didn't build a solid foundation beforehand, you wouldn't be able to understand the later lessons.

As Yang Feng listened to the teacher's rapid-fire words on the podium, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly. He actually understood everything. The solutions to spatial vectors and solid geometry, ellipses and hyperbolas immediately came to mind.

He couldn't help but feel excited. He never expected that he could make up for what he had lost over the years. Yang Feng had thought about taking extra classes when he was in his senior year of high school, but his family's resources were insufficient, and he had fallen behind in the previous content and basic knowledge. He didn't know when he could catch up.

If he hadn't given up on himself in his first year of high school, he might still be at the peak of his scholarly ambition now.

"Now we're going to call on a student to come up and solve this challenging problem from the 2017 college entrance exam. Who wants to come up?" Teacher Dong said with a faint smile, "Whoever solves this problem can have their math homework waived today…but…"

All the boys and girls in the class panicked. Every time the math teacher said something like that, he was just trying to trick us ignorant teenagers. If we couldn't do it, he'd give us another chance. It was so frustrating!

"However, since none of you finished it or no one came up, we'll give you a little extra homework today. Don't worry, it won't be too much,"

Teacher Dong smiled and looked at all the students below.

Immediately, all the students below began to discuss among themselves.

"Wow, that top student of yours, hurry up and come up here! I do my homework until midnight every day, and if I add a little something extra, I'll probably fall asleep while I'm doing it."

"Yeah, top students, hurry up and discuss this, or we'll have extra homework today."

"It's up to the top students; there's no need for us mediocre students."

“…”

Han Shilan kept writing on the draft paper with a water-based pen, her beautiful eyes constantly glancing at the 2017 college entrance examination question on the blackboard. Her delicate eyebrows furrowed almost imperceptibly, and her small mouth pouted slightly.

This question is indeed very difficult. Back in the day, when this question appeared on the college entrance exam in mathematics, countless people failed because of it.

The method involves using an elliptic curve to calculate one-third of the distance from point O to point B, and then proving the moving points Q1 and Q2.

Yang Feng's lips curled up slightly, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes. To him, this question was like a college student doing a primary school problem.

Several top students gathered around a table and began to discuss the topic incessantly, their pens constantly scribbling on drafts, their brows furrowed with confusion as they looked at each other.

"It's so difficult—" Han Shilan put down her pen, rested her cheek on her fair hand, and stared at the question she had copied on the draft paper.

"Is it difficult? I'll teach you." Yang Feng smiled slightly, picked up Han Shilan's blue water-based pen, and began to draw auxiliary lines on her draft paper. Now was the time for Han Shilan to forgive him, so he had to make the most of it.

"You can? Heh—" Han Shilan's eyelashes fluttered slightly as she spoke with disdain. If it were before, she definitely would have, but now…

Chapter 10: Initial Exploration of Knowledge

Hearing Han Shilan's mocking voice, Yang Feng smiled faintly, not caring, and then said, "Actually, these are very simple. Take a look at these auxiliary lines I drew."

Han Shilan glanced at Yang Feng, her face still cold. When she saw the auxiliary lines on the draft paper, her delicate eyebrows furrowed, and a hint of surprise flashed in her beautiful eyes.

That's right. After drawing these auxiliary lines, the solution to the whole problem became clear. Han Shilan blinked her big eyes at Yang Feng and said, "This... do you really know how to solve this problem?"

“Of course.” Yang Feng nodded, holding his pen, and explained to Han Shilan as he wrote, “The first problem is very simple. It’s easy to find a breakthrough by connecting the auxiliary lines, and then using some geometric properties of ellipses…”

Yang Feng kept writing down the solutions to each small question, and his process was clear, smooth, and well-organized. Some of these solutions were things that his teacher had never taught him. Han Shilan, who was standing next to him, leaned over and listened attentively to Yang Feng's explanations. She felt like she was just a poor student who couldn't even get a word in edgewise.

Their heads were touching so closely, but neither of them noticed.

Han Shilan was quite surprised. She hadn't expected Yang Feng to solve the problem. Had he been deliberately omitting it all along? Or had he just learned it after listening to the lesson?

"Well, did you understand?" Yang Feng turned to look at Han Shilan and found that the two of them were almost touching noses. They both jumped back as if startled.

Han Shilan's pretty face flushed slightly, her big eyes fixed on Yang Feng, and she parted her lips slightly to say:

"Yang Feng, how did you know how to solve this problem?"

"Uh..." Yang Feng was a little taken aback. He couldn't very well say that there was a rogue... no, a full-time system inside his body.

Then, with a faint smile, he said, "Actually, I already knew all of these things, I just didn't want to do them?"

"Don't want to do it?" Han Shilan frowned slightly and muttered to herself. Could he be the kind of student who likes to show off and pretend to be weak while actually being strong?

I was so worried about him before, why did he fall so low? It turns out he was hiding his strength. No wonder he was so good in the first year of high school, how come he became so bad in the third year? He was hiding his strength all along. Thinking about how I was worried about his studies, it seems I was worried for nothing. I felt a surge of anger, followed by a sense of confusion.

Perhaps he wanted to show off in front of me.

"If you don't understand any of these questions, I can teach you, one-on-one, you're really lucky," Yang Feng said casually, putting down his pen.

"Hmph... You don't understand! Who cares if you teach me! I'll learn by myself." Han Shilan huffed angrily, pouting and turning her head to look at the notes on the draft paper, ignoring Yang Feng.

"How strange. I taught her so patiently, and she still got angry? Women are really strange creatures. It seems that the old saying that a woman's heart is like a needle at the bottom of the sea is true." Yang Feng's lips twitched violently as he muttered to himself.

At this moment, Teacher Dong, standing on the podium, smirked with an air of cunning and said, "Class, time's up. Who's going to come up and answer these questions? Or should we do the usual extra homework?"

Immediately, all the students below erupted in an uproar.

"No! Teacher Dong, please spare our lives! Look at us, we're always doing homework until midnight. What if we suddenly die at home one day...?"

"Yeah, Mr. Dong, you're the coolest! Let's not give you extra homework today..."

"Teacher Dong, this question is so difficult, you're obviously trying to trick us..."

“…”

Seeing the commotion around her, Han Shilan sighed slightly and said to her deskmate, "Yang Feng, why don't you go up and solve this problem? Otherwise, you'll get extra homework."
