Chapter 30

"You haven't been naughty. Daddy believes in Xiaxia and wouldn't hit her for no reason, right? There must be a reason. Xiaxia, would you like to tell me?"

Hitting someone is a very wrong thing to do, and Chu Qing does not deny that.

He also admitted that he was biased, and after seeing Xiaxia crying so pitifully, he couldn't bear to say that he was wrong.

When his child was so upset, he felt that comforting Xiaxia was more important than reasoning with her.

Xiaxia nodded gently, hummed in agreement, and then explained to her father.

"He's really awful. He likes to pull down the skirts of the girls in his class and watch them cry."

“Father, Father and Dad both taught me that this is impolite and disrespectful. I told him not to listen, so I beat him.”

After hearing this, Chu Qing was momentarily at a loss for how to respond.

Because he told the little boy not to listen, he beat him until he bled and went to the hospital. This way of solving the problem is a bit too simplistic and brutal.

Xiaxia pouted, still a little worried that her father would scold her.

After calming down, he realized that he had done something wrong, but he felt so wronged that if his father said even half a word wrong, he would immediately start crying loudly again.

"How could that kid be so unreasonable? Xiaxia is protecting that girl, that's great."

Chu Qing held Xia Xia's little hand, noticing the dampness still clinging to his eyelashes, and continued to coax him:

"Xia Xia, you're a great hero, don't cry anymore, okay?"

Xiaxia stared at her father with wide eyes for a while, then shrank back to the side, still somewhat incredulous, and widened her eyes even more.

Dad actually...didn't yell at him?

After making sure her father wouldn't say she was wrong, Xiaxia said "okay" in her childish voice.

Xiaxia was temporarily appeased, but the kindergarten teacher on his phone was still urging him to go to the hospital quickly. Chu Qing lowered his head and began to discuss it with Xiaxia.

The little guy was surprisingly firm in his opinion on this matter, stubbornly saying while crossing his arms:

"I'm not going. I don't want to see him."

Chu Qing finally managed to coax the person to the hospital. The wound on the child's arm in the ward had been treated and bandaged, and an old man next to him was calling him his precious son and daughter.

These days, every child is a treasure, and Chu Qing could completely understand his heartache for his child.

Through the transparent glass of the door, the teacher saw Chu Qing and walked into the hospital corridor first.

The child who was hit today is her relative's child. Their relationship wasn't particularly close to begin with, and after this incident, she didn't know what to do. She was also a little angry, so she took the initiative to say:

“Wei Xia’s father, why don’t you take the initiative to apologize to that child’s parents?”

Chu Qing reached out and covered Xia Xia's ear, pulling him into her arms. Her voice was gentle and slow, yet firm.

“Xiaxia’s methods of handling things were indeed extreme. I am willing to pay for the medical expenses and also willing to apologize for Xiaxia hitting him.”

"But I'm sorry, I don't think Xiaxia did anything wrong."

Being young is never a get-out-of-jail-free card, especially when it comes to such disgusting behavior.

Before Chu Qing arrived, the teacher was being verbally abused by her relatives in the ward for a long time. When she was unhappy, she heard Wei Xia's father say such things, and her expression turned rather unpleasant.

The child's father, who was inside, also came out and said:

"Judging from your words, you're not planning to let your child continue studying here, are you? Let me tell you, I have connections that can make sure your child can't go to school!"

This man was burly and had a large tattoo on his arm; just by looking at him, you could tell he was not someone to be trifled with. Yet, Chu Qing did not take a single step back.

After he nodded slightly in acknowledgment, a large hand landed on his shoulder, and then Wei Yutang shielded both of them behind him.

A tall assistant and a muscular bodyguard stood on either side of the tattooed man.

"What's the connection? Tell me about it."

"If there's anything you need, come and tell me."

Author's Note:

Wei Yutang: Come on, I'm going to break off our relationship.

Goodnight, my darlings!! I'm proudly puffing out my chest, waiting for your praise! Red envelopes are falling, muah~

Chapter 28

Wei Yutang was glad he arrived in time. When he saw Chu Qing, who was a little thin, standing in front of the tattooed man, he shielded them all behind him without thinking.

"I am coming."

A hand patted Chu Qing's shoulder to comfort him, indicating that he didn't need to worry. In the instant he turned around, his gentle eyes turned sharp, and his voice became cold.

"What connections could possibly prevent my child from going to school? Xiao Li, go and check it out."

"I also wanted to see for myself what kind of era this is, that someone can still control everything with one hand."

On the way here, Wei Yutang already knew the whole story. He didn't think Xia Xia had done anything wrong, or even that her methods were extreme.

The only thing worth mentioning is that he didn't have time to have his bodyguard teach him some martial arts earlier, so as to avoid being retaliated against or bullied by others.

"Don't beg me if I tell you."

The tattooed man showed no sign of restraint after seeing Wei Yutang. Instead, his wife pulled his arm and moved her lips as if trying to persuade him.

"And who are you to him? What business is it of yours how I talk to him?"

Upon seeing her father arrive, Xiaxia immediately straightened her back even more, put her hands on her hips, and scolded:

"His son is a scoundrel; he always likes to tear off girls' clothes!"

"Dad, I did nothing wrong! I'll do it again next time!"

After Xiaxia finished speaking in her clear, childlike voice, a tall man suddenly took two steps forward, quickly walked up to the father of the unruly child, and lifted him up with his hands.

"Is this your son, the one who pulls my daughter's skirt every day?"

Chu Qing vaguely remembered that this man was the father of Xia Xia's classmate. She was a very quiet girl, her mother was a doctor, and her father was a Taekwondo athlete.

Wei Yutang turned around and looked at Xia Xia. He felt a pang of heartache as he stared at Xia Xia's red eyes and bent down to wipe away his tears.

"Yes, Xiaxia is right."

The man had previously heard his daughter complain to him that some children at kindergarten deliberately pulled her skirt, but he was abroad participating in a taekwondo competition and couldn't come back at the time.

I just returned to China yesterday, and today when I came to deliver food to my wife, I ran into the person in question.

The scene quickly escalated, and even the security guards couldn't stop the man. It was only after his wife arrived that the farce was brought under control.

The muscular, tall man next to his 1.6-meter-tall wife looked like a large dog that had just been kicked after running around wildly, pointing at the tattooed man and starting to complain.

"It was his son who pulled our daughter's skirt."

The woman in the white coat was noticeably more rational, holding a folder in her hand, and spoke clearly and logically:

“This is outrageous. As parents, we hope to access the kindergarten’s surveillance footage to see the truth of the matter.”

"What surveillance footage? You think you can just pull it off like that? How could my son do such a thing?"

The woman didn't waste any words; instead, she took out her phone and sent a message to the parents' group.

If this matter doesn't escalate, she plans to go to the kindergarten in person.

"Then let's call the police."

Most people's attention was diverted to that, and the matter of Xiaxia hitting someone was dropped. After entering the elevator, Xiaxia took the initiative to reach out her hand to her father.

Dad held him for a while, and now it was the father's turn.

"I plan to find a coach for Xiaxia so he can learn from him and improve his physical fitness."

Upon hearing this, Chu Qing turned to look at him, understood his meaning, and then looked at Xia Xia, whose eyes suddenly lit up, and nodded gently.

"good."

"Also, let's change Xiaxia's kindergarten."

Chu Qing had been thinking about this issue on the way here. Now that he had changed jobs, his salary was not low, and he was able to provide Xia Xia with a better environment. There was no reason for him to continue to suffer here.

After that incident, Xiaxia was no longer happy to stay here.

Xiaxia nodded in agreement; he didn't want to stay with that boy any longer, just thinking about it made him hate it.

"Dad, he did something wrong, will he be punished?"

Chu Qing nodded slightly and replied:

Yes, it will.

Judging from the little girl's mother's expression, this matter was definitely not going to end so easily. Before they left the hospital, they had already called the police.

Chu Qing wanted to call a taxi to take Xia Xia back first, but Wei Yutang held Xia Xia in one arm and grabbed his wrist with the other.

"I drove here, come over to my place for a meal."

"It's easy for me to take a taxi back. You're so busy with work, so I won't bother you."

"No trouble at all, let's go."

Wei Yutang pretended that he didn't understand Chu Qing's polite words at all, and his assistant opened the car door and waited for Chu Qing to get in first.

Xiaxia, who had been crying for a long time, sat there, leaning against her father and squinting to rest.

Autumn has arrived, the leaves on both sides of the road are turning yellow, and the temperature is starting to cool down.

When the housekeeper came to ask if Xiaxia's clothes should be prepared again this year, Wei Yutang specifically instructed that some suitable clothes should also be ordered according to Chuqing's size, and all of them should be placed in the master bedroom's walk-in closet.

Just the thought of his wardrobe being full of Chu Qing-style casual wear, and perhaps having some space left for his shirts and suits, made Wei Yutang feel quite pleased.

Xiaxia didn't eat much before running over and tugging at Chu Qing's clothes.

Chu Qing knew he wanted to rest, and since he didn't have much of an appetite, he ate a little something.

As soon as Xiaxia put down her chopsticks and reached out her hand, she hurriedly snuggled into her father's arms.

"Dad, the goldfish should be sleeping at this time too, right?"

"Yes, but you just finished eating. I'd like to hear why you hit him. Would you be willing to tell me?"

It's not good to sleep right after eating. If you point this out directly, Xiaxia will find all sorts of excuses to justify herself. Chu Qing had long ago found the right way to make Xiaxia listen to him.
