Zhan Chun - Chapter 70
I don't want her to die, I want to see her live happily and freely, I want to be with her... forever.
"I'm sorry," Shu Jun brushed her hair back and kissed her full forehead. "I'll never leave you alone again."
He gently placed her back down, tucked her in, and then slowly lifted the curtain and walked out.
Mo Yunqing sat up abruptly from the bow of the boat, looking at him with a complicated expression: "How...is she?"
Shu Jun grunted, a little impatiently: "You won't die."
Mo Yunqing nodded awkwardly, unsure of what to say to this eccentric person.
Shu Jun jumped off the boat, took a few steps along the shore, and said calmly, "You've gotten yourself into quite a bit of trouble, managing to find your way here."
What does that mean? Mo Yunqing turned to look at him in confusion, when she suddenly saw a figure moving behind the thin mist, slowly walking towards them.
It was a terrifying giant, carrying a huge axe, with tangled hair, rolled-up white eyes, foam dripping from the corners of his mouth, and an extremely ferocious face.
He had a strong and intimidating upper body, with muscles that were bulging like blocks of iron.
The most bizarre thing was that he had an iron chain around his neck, with the other end held in someone's hand—Uncle Yin. Half of his face still had bloodstains that hadn't been wiped away, his left ear was wrapped in gauze, and his expression was cold and stern.
Mo Yunqing felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave.
Shu Jun stood with his hands behind his back, without saying a word.
Uncle Yin looked him up and down and said, "Young Master is right. It was indeed you who was behind this, Shu Jun."
Since Ge Yichun didn't have the Zhanchun Sword, whether he was killed or spared, the sword wouldn't magically end up in Yan's hands. Yan Yufei had already spent too much energy and time on the Jianlan Manor matter and didn't intend to get entangled any further. He simply decided to play along and let Yichun and the others go, waiting for them to meet up with their contact before launching a surprise attack.
Uncle Yin simply hadn't anticipated that the young master would get serious and fight Ge Yichun. It seems he hadn't truly let go of the matter of the young sect leader, and thus couldn't remain calm in the face of this woman.
Even if that woman died a thousand times, she couldn't repay the loss of her right hand.
Uncle Yin said, "The Spring-Slaying Sword is now in your hands. Give it to me, and also—hand over Ge Yichun to me, and I will spare your life."

The fog gradually dissipated.
Mo Yunqing's hands were clenched tightly, as if frozen, and they were covered in cold sweat.
Should he continue being a coward? He asked himself this question over and over, inexplicably. Before, he hid behind his father; now he hid behind Ge Yichun; and who would he hide behind in the future?
There was no answer, and he felt deeply ashamed of himself.
He suddenly stood up from the bow of the ship and gripped the other spare iron sword at his waist.
"Young master, you should take my junior sister and leave quickly! I'll hold them off!" he said in a low voice.
Shu Jun looked at him strangely, probably with some disdain, laughing at his overestimation of his abilities.
Mo Yunqing said urgently, "Let's go!"
Shu Jun said slowly, "If you want to die, then go ahead and slit your own throat. If you don't want to die, then lend me your sword. Enough nonsense."
Mo Yunqing had no choice but to hand him the iron sword. At this point, there was no point in regretting his uselessness, and he squatted down dejectedly.
Shu Jun raised his hand, pinched the tip of the sword, and with a slight bend and flick, the iron sword emitted a clear hum and trembled incessantly.
The roar continued, and the giant pounced forward like a madman who had completely lost his mind, his giant axe slashing down with the force of thunder, without any pattern or strategy.
With a loud "thud," an axe cleaved into a willow tree on the bank. The willow tree, as thick as a bowl, split in two and crashed to the ground. Mo Yunqing's scream was stuck in her throat and almost burst out.
Yang Shen died because of this terrifying power and speed.
The giant was burly and clumsy, yet surprisingly agile. He drew his axe and swung it back, cleaving the light purple figure in two.
They succeeded?! Uncle Yin and Mo Yunqing couldn't help but hold their breath.
The beautiful robe, now cleaved in two, slowly fell to the ground like a graceful butterfly. A figure flashed before the giant's eyes; a person had appeared on the axe, the robe revealing a deep purple outfit beneath. The figure lightly touched the axe handle with a relaxed smile—it was Shu Jun.
"Ah, so that's how it is." He glanced at the silver needles on the giant's back of the head and even the vital points on his neck, and suddenly realized.
Stimulating vital acupoints on the top of the head with poisoned silver needles can cause a person to lose their mind on the spot, turning them into a wild beast capable only of fighting. Even after the silver needles are removed, the person is already crippled and can only lie in bed like a stone for the rest of their life, unable to do anything except breathe.
Yan Yufei, what ruthless methods!
The axe beneath his feet swayed, clearly indicating that the giant intended to throw him off. Shu Jun leaped into the air; his slender frame was as light as if weightless, completely different from Yi Chun's agility—more concise, more concealed, and aimed straight for the vitals.
With his booted feet planted on the giant's head, Shu Jun simply squatted down on his head, as if playing with a giant beast. Suddenly, he raised his sword and swung it—no blood splattered, no limbs or heads were severed, only the four silver needles stuck in the back of the giant's head gently fell to the ground.
The giant didn't utter a sound; his heavy body collapsed to the ground, his limbs twitched slightly twice, and then he remained still.
Shu Jun walked over and kicked him twice, but he still didn't move. He then laughed and said, "This man is really unlucky. There's no difference between being alive and being dead."
Mo Yunqing said urgently, "Don't let your guard down! There's something even more powerful!"
Shu Jun ignored him and glanced back at Uncle Yin. His face was turning pale and then flushed, which was quite a sight.
Shu Jun said, "I've knocked down one of your humanoid weapons. Sorry, even if I stab him with forty more silver needles, he won't be able to move, right?"
Seeing that Uncle Yin remained silent, he continued, "Actually, if the two of you had attacked together, I might be the one falling now. But if I'm not mistaken, this monster only attacks things that move in front of it, right? It can't distinguish between friend and foe, which is also a problem."
Uncle Yin's face darkened. He suddenly took off his bamboo hat and threw it aside, coldly saying, "You really do have some skill! What if I get to see more of it?"
He drew two iron swords from his waist and formed a cross in front of him.
Shu Jun watched his posture quietly, and the casual look on his face finally faded, revealing a serious expression.
