Chapter 75

"Get out of my way." He said coldly, giving the girl no reply.

"If you harass my girlfriend again, I will call the police."

The girl was initially frightened by Jiang Jianhuan, and then she was scolded by Su Mo with such a cold and harsh look. Her eyes instantly turned red. She gritted her teeth, stomped her foot, and left unwillingly.

As Jiang Jianhuan watched her figure disappear, he immediately broke free from Su Mo's restraints and lashed out at him.

"Why are you stopping me! I'm going to teach her a lesson and show her what a bad person she is!"

She was furious. Having been together for so long, and with Su Mo's indulgence, he had gradually revealed his true nature. Now, enraged, he became even more unrestrained in his speech, like a little lion with its mane bristling.

"I'm afraid you'll get hurt. Don't fight with anyone, okay?" Su Mo coaxed her into the house, hugging and kissing her as she did so. She was completely different from the cold, scolding woman she had been just moments before.

"I didn't fight, I only beat her up, how could I be injured! Are you trying to protect her on purpose!" Jiang Jianhuan became even more arrogant and unreasonable after being coaxed by him like this. Su Mo was speechless and finally had no choice but to pick her up and throw her onto the bed.

"What are you doing! Are you trying to seduce me?! I'm telling you, that's impossible... um."

Jiang Jianhuan was silenced by his kiss and couldn't speak. Soon after, he went limp. Afterwards, still groggy, he wanted to settle scores with him, but Su Mo changed his position, and Jiang Jianhuan's face was pressed into the soft pillow. All his questions turned into sobs, his eyes filled with tears, and his mind went completely blank.

A few days later, Su Mo resigned from the bar and took a job that was more demanding but much quieter. Jiang Jianhuan felt a pang of heartache and regretted not controlling her temper, because she knew then that Su Mo had changed jobs entirely for her sake.

-

The bar music was soothing, and the surrounding environment was quiet amidst the hustle and bustle. When Jiang Jianhuan asked her question, Su Mo shook her head and replied.

"No."

"I only come back here occasionally to sit for a while."

"How long is 'occasionally'?" Jiang Jianhuan recalled how the bar owner had brought him drinks and greeted him familiarly, and he was somewhat incredulous.

Su Mo coughed lightly, her gaze shifting unnaturally.

"About once or twice a month."

"Oh..." Jiang Jianhuan drawled out his reply.

"Do you want to hear me sing?" Su Mo suddenly asked when she saw her lost in thought. Jiang Jianhuan turned around in surprise.

"What?"

Su Mo patiently repeated it again.

Jiang Jianhuan finally realized what was happening.

"Is this okay? Won't we get photographed?"

"It's okay." Su Mo blinked and smiled slyly at her. "We can go out the back door later."

“But…” Jiang Jianhuan was still uneasy, her gaze shifting blankly to the side, hesitant to speak. Zhou You, who was meeting her gaze, waved his hands repeatedly.

"Don't worry about us, we're not celebrities. We'll just have some fun and then go home."

"Let's forget about it." Jiang Jianhuan hesitated for a moment, not wanting to make such a fuss.

"Wait for me." Su Mo patted her head, got up and walked towards the stage. He whispered something to the band's guitarist, then took the guitar from him.

Jiang Jianhuan was seated at a distance that was neither too close nor too far from the stage, just enough to see Su Mo's expressions and movements clearly.

After taking the guitar, he sat down on the chair in the middle. Perhaps having spoken to the bar owner beforehand, the overhead lights dimmed instantly, revealing only a figure.

Su Mo casually plucked a string, and the first note of the guitar melody was released.

He lowered his head slightly and moved closer to the microphone in front of him.

On the bluestone path, under the moonlight, a withered tree sprouted new branches.

That person, I wonder where he's gone, wandering the world.

Su Mo sang a song he wrote when he was in school, which Jiang Jianhuan really enjoyed listening to. Su Mo often played the instrument while working at this bar, but he had never publicly debuted.

In fact, most of the songs he has released are his later compositions; his older songs are rarely known.

The moment Su Mo's voice came out, the area below the bar fell silent for a moment, as if the voice sounded familiar, or perhaps they were simply moved by the quality of his voice.

As the first note faded, many people looked up at the stage. The male singer sat there, holding a guitar and wearing a baseball cap. The stage lighting was dim, making it difficult to see his face.

But precisely because of this, everyone's attention was drawn to his singing. His clear and pure voice, penetrating the ears, was like having one's soul cleansed by the cool spring water of a mountain stream, captivating and holding one's attention.

Almost all the bar patrons were hearing this song for the first time, yet it was incredibly captivating. The lyrics, melody, vocal technique, and overall atmosphere seemed to construct a novel world, involuntarily leading one's consciousness to transcend space and forget where they were.

The song's time flew by, and when the last note fell, everyone was still somewhat dazed until the first round of applause and cheers rang out, at which point they snapped out of their reverie and responded enthusiastically.

Most people were shouting for an encore, and some were even pushing their way onto the stage, trying to get a good look at the singer. Who was it?

But as the performance ended, the stage lights went out completely, and the figures that could be vaguely seen disappeared into the darkness, no matter how wide you opened your eyes, you couldn't see them clearly.

Some of the more short-tempered people couldn't help but start cursing.

"What's wrong with this bar?! Why aren't the lights on?!"

"It's because we don't have the money to pay the electricity bill!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the stage lights suddenly shone brightly, but a different band had already taken the stage, and the singer from before was nowhere to be seen.

"Who is this singer?! Their voice is so good, they could debut right away!"

"I wonder if he's a new male singer the bar recently hired."

"But his voice sounds familiar... Oh right! Don't you think he looks a lot like Su Mo?!"

"No way... why would Su Mo come here to sing? She probably just looks like someone else."

"Okay," the man said, sounding disappointed.
