Chapter 18

When he sat down, he almost dropped the rabbit in his hand before he could even sit properly. Fortunately, Gu Yunzhou caught the rabbit quickly and put it aside.

Ji Zhaoming rested his hands on the table, his eyebrows furrowed, looking far from weak. After a moment's hesitation, he called out, "Gu...Gu Yunzhou?"

Gu Yunzhou gestured to the robot behind him to take the little rabbit and fox away. He lifted the chair and moved it back a distance before carefully putting it down, without making a sound. He hummed in agreement and said, "I'm here."

Ji Zhaoming reached out and touched the person in front of him. The figure swayed back and forth, and the last figure split into two, then three, becoming increasingly illusory. Ji Zhaoming called out again, "Gu Yunzhou, where are you?"

My hand was gently taken and solemnly placed in another palm, while a deep voice came from beside me.

“Here.” Gu Yunzhou took Ji Zhaoming’s hand and touched his forehead.

Ji Zhaoming hissed softly, "So cold."

Gu Yunzhou's hands used to be warm 24 hours a day, but this time, perhaps because he had just come out of the snow-capped mountains and forgot to adjust the temperature, they were so cold that Ji Zhaoming shivered and turned his head back slightly, trying to avoid the hand.

Gu Yunzhou said, "It's not that my hands are cold, it's that Master has a fever."

Ji Zhaoming exclaimed "Ah!" and stared blankly at Gu Yunzhou. He then imitated Gu Yunzhou's action and touched his forehead: "Hmm, no, right? I feel the temperature is about the same."

Gu Yunzhou gazed at Ji Zhaoming silently.

His master's cheeks were flushed, his eyes were filled with tears, and he looked dazed and confused, perhaps unable to even see where he was going. Gu Yunzhou doubted whether his master could recognize who he was.

So he asked, "Master, do you know who I am?"

Ji Zhaoming stared wide-eyed, trying hard to recognize the person in front of him, but he was too dizzy. He took a slight breath, pushed the person away, and staggered as he asked, "Where is Gu Yunzhou?"

Gu Yunzhou thought to himself, "As expected, I didn't recognize him."

The newborn baby was delirious with fever and couldn't recognize anyone, only able to instinctively call out the names of the people he knew best.

In his master's heart, he was at least at the very top of this world.

Just like his identity within the robot.

Is being a leader enough to make one content?

Gu Yunzhou knew perfectly well that his heart was only filled after he met Ji Zhaoming.

“Master,” Gu Yunzhou said, “Please sit down, I’ll get you your medicine.”

Ji Zhaoming placed his hands on his knees and nodded obediently in a primary school student's sitting posture, saying, "Go ahead."

Other races say that robots have no heart, but from the moment Gu Yunzhou first saw Ji Zhaoming, he felt his heart beating. And now, he felt his heart soften into a cloud in the air, as light and fluffy as cotton candy, unable to settle down, yet too soft to hurt anyone.

Seeing Ji Zhaoming so obediently softened Gu Yunzhou's heart. He reached out and touched Ji Zhaoming's hair, said "good" and then left.

After he left, Ji Zhaoming sat on the chair, feeling somewhat uncomfortable, with his head resting on his arms and his upper body lying on the table, each breath he exhaled was hot.

It's almost melting from the heat.

Half-asleep, Ji Zhaoming turned his body and touched the red string that was always tied to his wrist. He frowned, seemingly lost in thought, and suddenly sat up straight from his seat as if he had just woken up. He looked around as if he was looking for someone.

After catching his breath, he got up from the chair. Because his vision was blurry, the chair behind him fell over with a loud thud. The jarring sound made Ji Zhaoming frown. After a moment, he took a step forward.

Strange, he clearly remembered that Gu Yunzhou was right next to him.

He called out, "Gu Yunzhou, where are you?"

.

Actually, he didn't know who he should call. The high fever made his head feel like mush, and he could only call out people on instinct. He had been with Gu Yunzhou during this time, so he subconsciously called out that name.

—Perhaps there are some reasons that even Ji Zhaoming himself couldn't figure out. The name Gu Yunzhou felt very familiar to him subconsciously, as if he had heard it a long time ago.

Upon hearing Wang's voice, the robots outside the door exchanged glances and decided to open the door.

What they saw was an empty hall.

The robot panicked and cried out, "King, where are you?"

Gu He decided, "Let's call the leader back first."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Gu Yunzhou strode towards them from the corridor. "What do you want?"

Worried about Ji Zhaoming, Gu Yunzhou moved quickly. He glanced at the empty hall and his expression changed instantly: "Where is the master?"

"I was just calling your name here, and as soon as the door opened, you disappeared..." Gu He said cautiously, "Let's go look for you right now."

Gu Yunzhou was about to nod when he suddenly saw a furry head pop out from behind the sofa.

Even from just a few hairs, Gu Yunzhou recognized who it was at a glance. He shook his head and said, "No need, I've found it."

Without offering any further explanation, Gu Yunzhou quickly helped his master up from under the sofa.

Ji Zhaoming kept touching the red string, his eyes slightly narrowed: "Gu... Yunzhou?"

“It’s me,” Gu Yunzhou replied, feeding the medicine he had brought to Ji Zhaoming.

The medicine worked quickly; after a while, the burning heat on Ji Zhaoming's body began to dissipate, and he became drowsy. Fortunately, he remembered that this was not the bedroom, and he tightly gripped Gu Yunzhou's clothes, trying to get up.

It quickly fell back down.

Ji Zhaoming shook his head and tried to open his eyes: "I'm going back to my bedroom to sleep."

Like a toddler that has just learned to walk, it stumbles and supports people as it moves forward.

Gu Yunzhou lowered his eyes slightly and picked the person up in his arms: "I'll take Master back."

The sudden feeling of being suspended in mid-air made Ji Zhaoming gasp.

Nestled in Gu Yunzhou's arms, Ji Zhaoming rolled over slightly, bringing his face to Gu Yunzhou's chest. When he looked up, he almost bumped into Gu Yunzhou's chin, but luckily Gu Yunzhou moved back slightly.

Ji Zhaoming didn't notice this. He was extremely sleepy. After struggling in Gu Yunzhou's arms for a while, his eyelids kept drooping, and soon he fell into a deep sleep.

Upon entering the bedroom, Gu Yunzhou covered Ji Zhaoming with the blanket and stood beside him, watching him sleep soundly. It seemed he could watch him forever without getting tired of it. After watching for an unknown amount of time, he gently closed the door.

*

When I woke up again, it was already the next day.

Looking at the white ceiling, Ji Zhaoming quietly got out of bed. Turning his head, he saw that he was surrounded by robots, staring intently at him.

Next to him was a window through which he could see the snow scene. If it weren't for the snowman outside, Ji Zhaoming would have almost thought that time had traveled back to the first day he arrived here.

He tentatively greeted them, "Hello?"

Upon hearing the sound, the robots all backed away.

So, it really is back to day one?

Ji Zhaoming got off the bed, and Gu He stood in front of him, kneeling down to offer him slippers.

Oh, it's not the first day.

After putting on his slippers, Gu He was still not at ease, so he took a thin jacket and put it on Ji Zhaoming. "Your Majesty, you scared us to death yesterday."

"Hmm?" Ji Zhaoming recalled what happened yesterday.

First, he fell into the snow-capped mountains, then was rescued. Once back inside, he developed a fever, and after that…

what happened?

Ji Zhaoming stared blankly at Gu He and said apologetically, "I'm sorry to have worried you."

Gu He shook his head: "It was our carelessness that prevented us from discovering this in time."

The robots are incredibly resilient; even when injured, their wounds heal quickly. Even though they know their king is fragile and easily hurt, they still tend to overlook things.

Gu He thought with some annoyance.

Ji Zhaoming smiled and said, "That's not true."

He then asked, "Where is your leader?"

Gu He was a little jealous.

Their king kept calling for their leader while he was unconscious, and when he woke up, he called for their leader again immediately.

If he were the leader, would he also gain the king's favor?

This idea was too outrageous, and Gu He put it out of his mind as soon as he finished thinking about it.

Gu He said, "I'll be there in a bit. Wang is still weak, so don't move around too much."

Ji Zhaoming shook his head: "No, your medicine works very well."

As soon as he woke up, he felt as if his body had been injected with new energy, even more refreshed than when he first came to this world. He took a few steps forward, with several robots following closely behind him.

That's way too tense.

Under the gaze of so many eyes, Ji Zhaoming smiled shyly: "Sorry, I'm a little uncomfortable."

The robots' eyes instantly looked dejected.

Gu Hejian said firmly, "We can shrink it."

For the first time in this matter, the obedient robot began to disobey the king's orders.

Because they were so afraid of losing him, they were careful and dared not let the king out of their sight.

With the little tail following behind, Ji Zhaoming found Gu Yunzhou in the laboratory.

Gu Yunzhou was wearing a white coat and glasses without a prescription. When he turned around at the sound, his aura was so intimidating that it made Ji Zhaoming slow down.

Gu Yunzhou appears aloof and unapproachable.

The moment Gu Yunzhou saw Ji Zhaoming, he instantly transformed into calm seawater, the raging waves subsiding for his moonlight.

Gu Yunzhou packed everything he was carrying into the box, took off his glasses, and asked, "Why is Master here?"

Ji Zhaoming took small steps to Gu Yunzhou's side and tugged at his sleeve.

Gu Yunzhou bent down and whispered in his ear.

Ji Zhaoming's voice was timid and coquettish: "What do they usually do? Won't it interfere with my work if they always stay by my side?"

He subtly pointed his finger at the robot behind him.

Instead of answering, Gu Yunzhou said, "Master, you still feel very hot. Have you not recovered from your fever yet?"

The heat sprayed onto the tips of his ears, almost melting the parts of his body.

Ji Zhaoming: ?

Only then did he realize that his lips were just a hair's breadth away from kissing Gu Yunzhou's earlobe.
