Love Across Time - Chapter 65

Chapter 65

When Huan'er arrived, the laughter paused for a moment. The atmosphere seemed to freeze instantly. When did she become so annoying?

"Why are you here?" Shi Wuji asked indifferently, his face still as cold as ever.

"I've come to see the children," she replied softly. Seeing everyone's uncomfortable expressions, she was furious and lost all interest in teasing them. She would remember this grudge; she wanted to vent her anger right now.

"Go back to your room and rest," he ordered.

Huan'er removed Yu Niang's hand and walked resolutely towards Shi Wuji. She fiercely snatched the child from Xiao Qing's arms, threw it into his hands, and glared at him with her hands on her hips.

"There's something I'd better explain: I'll be waiting for you at Lan Academy! If you don't come, I'm not done with you!" She turned and walked away.

"Huan'er!" Shi Wuji blurted out!

She turned around with a fiery glare.

"I was in excruciating pain during childbirth, and when I woke up, I was treated like an abandoned woman! They won't even let me see my child, Shi Wuji! I gave birth to this child, and they won't let me hold him, while all the unrelated people are having a good time holding him! Get lost!"

Tears welled up in her eyes uncontrollably, and she snatched the child from his arms and ran back to the Orchid Courtyard.

"Huan'er!" Shi Wuji exclaimed in surprise and disbelief.

"Sister-in-law!" everyone called out.

Huan'er is back! She's back! Who else would dare speak to Shi Wuji like that besides her?

"Don't go over there!" He stopped everyone and ran back to the Orchid Courtyard.

Her body was weak, and upon returning to the Orchid Courtyard, she nearly collapsed to the ground. Sitting on a stone chair, panting, she looked at the son she had snatched from her arms. This child was destined for greatness; he remained remarkably calm despite being held and cuddled. Was he perhaps paralyzed with fear? A pair of bright, lively eyes were fixed on her, full of curiosity.

This child resembles Wuji, perhaps only her eyes are like hers. Huan'er forcefully wiped away her tears, blaming her emotional breakdown on Shi Wuji for not marrying Xiaoqing off.

"Huan'er!" Shi Wuji wasn't entirely sure, fearing that too much hope would only lead to greater disappointment. He slowly approached her.

She didn't give her a friendly look.

"Go back to the incense brothel and wait! I'll have someone send you a letter of divorce."

At this moment, Shi Wuji was 100% certain. His expression changed completely, and he ecstatically picked her up and cried out:

"Huan'er! It really is you! It really is you back! Oh my god! I've missed you terribly, I've waited so long for you!"

"Watch out for the child! Wuji! We've bumped into the child!" Huan'er shouted, quickly lifting her son up.

Shi Wuji lifted her onto his lap, gazed at her intently for a long time, and then asked in a daze, "Does it hurt?"

"Asking now? Too late!" She raised her chin, then pointed a finger at his nose. "Tell me! Why didn't you marry Xiaoqing off!"

He hurriedly said, "Xiaoqing is already married. She came back to see Uncle Leng yesterday. She is also pregnant, so she asked to hold Rui'er."
