A Dream of Transmigration - Chapter 28

Chapter 28

.

The room was bright and simply furnished.

There was a bed where he was lying, covered with a blanket; a table by the window with a pot of tea on it; and two chairs next to the table where someone was sitting.

Dressed in white, as white as snow.

Without even looking, Lin Feifei already knew that the person must have a pair of half-closed eyes, as cold and indifferent as an iceberg or snow-capped peak.

Did he save me?

"It's you?!" Without thinking, she blurted out.

Sure enough, those cold eyes looked over, but they didn't say anything.

She quickly lifted the covers and found that her clothes were intact. Feeling a little embarrassed, she hurriedly jumped out of bed—had he not realized she was a woman?

"Thank you so much for saving my life, brother." After thinking for a moment, she clasped her hands in a gesture of respect and imitated his gesture.

Those eyes then turned to look out the window.

That's so cool!

Lin Feifei sighed inwardly and looked out the window. She then realized that she seemed to still be in Jinling City. Outside was a main street with a lot of people coming and going.

Suddenly, she remembered something very important.

"Where's the mad monk?!"

.

There was no response.

"Hey!" Lin Feifei didn't care about anything else, grabbed his shoulder and shook him: "Where did the mad monk go? How is he?!"

The young man in white was taken aback. He had probably never been treated like this before, and his icy eyes widened completely for the first time in his life.

It was bright, and people's shadows were reflected in it, as if they were rippled on the water.

In a moment, the eyes returned to normal, ethereal as mist.

Lin Feifei was stunned for a moment, then let go.

"Is the mad monk alright?"

He looked at her and finally spoke: "He's gone."

This was the first time Lin Feifei had heard him speak. She felt that his clear voice was like the sound of a zither, seemingly otherworldly, vast and distant, as if it came from the distant clouds.

"That's good," she said, relieved, but then suddenly became anxious again. "Did you see the orchid from yesterday?"

He nodded slightly.

No one who witnessed last night's scene will forget it—a dazzling spectacle amidst the eeriness.

She thought for a moment: "It seems to be something like 'Worshiping the Moon and Pure Heart Orchid Soul,' what did you do with it?"

"I went there, but it's already gone."

“So it didn’t harm us after all,” Lin Feifei said, sitting down in the chair opposite her. Thinking about how she had failed several times, she felt incredibly discouraged. “But why did it want to harm Miss Qian?”

"She encountered evil spirits a few days ago, but those two monks have already exorcised her." A cold voice said.

"Not it? So it was a good monster after all, a top-grade Jade Heart Orchid, beautiful!" Lin Feifei exclaimed, yet still somewhat puzzled, "If it's a monster, why did my Mystic Purple Stone malfunction?"

“How can it be compared to a monster?” He glanced at her coldly. “The innate purple stone will not lose its power; it depends on who is wearing it.”

"Huh?" Lin Feifei was extremely embarrassed; her skill level was indeed rather lacking. "Then what is it if not a monster?"

There was no response.

He must despise himself terribly, Lin Feifei asked dejectedly, "Who are you?"

“Lingyi”.

.

It really is him! He's so handsome! No wonder the beautiful Miaoqing likes him!

"Is it really you?" She jumped up from her chair excitedly. "I knew it was you! Senior brother, you're so handsome! Did you also sense something was wrong in that garden yesterday and that's why you came here..."

Lingyi was stunned when he saw her so excited.

She was already pacing back and forth in the room, starting to rant: "That guy YY wouldn't tell me, but now I've found you anyway, hahaha, I'll make him furious next time I see him."

Lingyi probably found it noisy and turned her face away.

Lin Feifei didn't like Miaoqing to begin with, and after being bullied by the handsome guy in green, she didn't have a good impression of her eighteenth senior brother. But now that she's met someone like this, she just can't bring herself to dislike him.

Finally, having finished expressing her personal feelings, she felt a little thirsty, returned to the table, poured herself a cup of tea, and drank it all. Only then did she remember that he didn't even know her.

"By the way, I only joined Maoshan last year, so you probably don't recognize me, right?" She introduced herself with a smile. "My Taoist name is Miaozhen, but you can just call me Lin Feifei, or Feifei is fine too."

He nodded.

"Hi!" Lin Feifei reached out to pat his shoulder to say something, but he seemed very unwilling to be touched by others, and leaned back, so Lin Feifei immediately missed.

"Haha, well," she said somewhat awkwardly, "I'm sorry, it's just a habit."
