In early summer, another graduating class of senior high school students was approaching graduation at Z Middle School. A tense atmosphere permeated the peaceful campus. However, one boy seemed completely unaffected by this atmosphere of impending doom. Early in the morning, in the fresh air, he strolled past groups of students or those studying alone, and walked along a winding bamboo path.
He hadn't walked a few steps when a girl's clear voice suddenly called out from behind, "Feng Jiayue, Feng Jiayue!" The boy whose name was called frowned and turned around to look. A girl staggered towards him, stopping abruptly just in front of him.
Feng Jiayue frowned again, looking at her. She was clearly an extremely pretty girl, petite, with short, soft black hair that covered her forehead, and a pair of large, bright black eyes. She grinned at him with a very kind, silly smile, but why did he have this absurd thought—why did she look so much like McDull? The little piglet in Springfield Flower Kindergarten with a birthmark on her left eye, who loved chicken legs, only ate meat and no vegetables, was lazy, simple, optimistic, and of average talent, yet had many dreams.
Coincidentally, with his 5.1 vision, he could see a faint mole on her left eye.
The girl seemed oblivious to everything, her hands clasped in front of her chest, her feet tapping rhythmically, a smile on her face, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him—no, scrutinized him. It was as if she were eyeing a fine roast duck, and she was drooling with envy.
Feng Jiayue frowned, feigning ignorance, "You—you need something?" He was certain this unfamiliar girl wasn't a senior in high school. And he always preferred to strike first. The girl, surprisingly, replied boldly, "Of course! Why would I sacrifice sleep and get up so early to wait for you here if there wasn't something wrong?" Her eyes held not a trace of embarrassment, but rather a reproachful accusation that said, "It's all your fault." Feng Jiayue was both amused and exasperated; this girl really dared to say that.
The girl grinned again, her dimples appearing and disappearing, making her quite beautiful. "Remember, my name is Xi Ruohui, from Class 3 of the first year of high school." Looking at Feng Jiayue's expressionless face, she smiled innocently and continued, "I heard you've already been accepted into a university, and you seem quite bored all day. As your junior, it's only right that I help you out, right? Here's what we'll do: I'd like to invite you to a movie." She rummaged through her jeans pocket for a long time before finally pulling out a slightly crumpled movie ticket. "Here, take it."
Feng Jiayue was somewhat dumbfounded. He sensed a soft, boneless little hand slipping something into his hand, and then he saw a magnified smiling face flash past him. Immediately afterward, accompanied by a silvery laugh, that clear voice rang out again: "Z Middle School's big celebrity, since I, your junior, have always admired and respected you, you absolutely must come!"
When Feng Jiayue came to his senses, the small figure waved and, carrying an ridiculously large backpack, skipped and hopped away. Strangely, the simple actions of a seventeen-year-old girl possessed an inexplicable air of nonchalance. He lowered his eyes and looked at the movie ticket in his hand.
Xi Ruohui?
Many girls want to get close to him, but it seems rare to find one like her who chatters on and on from beginning to end, giving him almost no chance to speak.
He smiled faintly and continued walking forward.
CHAPTER 1 Reunion~
Two years later. October, F University.
Feng Jiayue glared menacingly at one of the names on the long list of student council recruits:
Xi, Ruo, Hui.
A chilling smile crept across his lips. Very well! She actually didn't run as far away as possible! She actually dared to show herself in front of him again, utterly fearless! He had initially thought she was planning to hide in some dark, sunless cave and live the rest of her life as a coward!
Fine! Since she's acting all nonchalant as if nothing happened, then don't blame him for not remembering our past friendship from being classmates!
He tossed aside the list and simply said, "No need for further selection, just recruit them all." Liang Yiqun, the student council vice president standing nearby, was somewhat puzzled. Wasn't it supposed to be a top 5 out of 10? But as the student council president, if he said to recruit everyone, then so be it. After all, it was a period of transition, and adding some fresh blood wouldn't hurt. However, why did Jia Yue's face look like he was gritting his teeth and sharpening a knife?
Along the way, Xi Ruohui and Shen Congrong strolled leisurely. Shen Congrong carried a skewer of grilled sausages, while Xi Ruohui held a piece of duck neck, eating as they walked. After finishing the duck neck, Ruohui licked her fingers contentedly: "Mmm, this place near the school gate is the most authentic; no other place can compare!" She accurately tossed the packaging into the nearby trash can. "Looks like my dad was somewhat prescient in forcing me to attend this school—" Shen Congrong asked, somewhat puzzled: "Oh, by the way, Ruohui, why did you absolutely refuse to come to F University in the first place?" It was close to home and a prestigious university, but Ruohui had always refused until her parents secretly changed her application. Under the shock of the situation, seeing that the die was cast, she had no choice but to come. Ruohui made a big face: "I just didn't like it here, I didn't want to study here—"
Hehe, if the meticulous Congrong knew everything, wouldn't that give her another handle to use against me?
She won't do it!
However, these past two days, she just felt something was off about her. She frowned. Of course, she knew that someone who hated her to the core and whom she really didn't want to see was also still stuck at F University, not yet graduated. But one was in medical school, and the other was in finance and economics. They were separated by a great distance, and she had only been at the university for a month. There was no reason for her to run into him so soon!
She must be overthinking it!
Two days later, she clearly realized:
First, she didn't think far, far enough;
Secondly, although sincerity is important in worshipping Buddha, the saying "money can make the devil turn the millstone" is an irrefutable truth.
Right now, she was huddled in a small corner, staring intently at the person diagonally in front of her who was listening attent
