Kapitel 104

Jinhe didn't move, he just kept smoking.

I suddenly felt completely drained of strength. I had been wanting to make one last desperate attempt, but all my fighting spirit vanished in an instant…

I have never experienced the feeling of being betrayed by the person I trusted most.

And now that I truly understand this feeling, I realize... it really hurts so much! It's a kind of heart-wrenching pain! It comes in waves, stimulating you until all your strength slowly disappears, leaving you utterly despondent!

Jinhe didn't move until he finished a cigarette. He suddenly said in a low voice, "Okay, I can't do it now... You can go out. The subway doors in the back courtyard are open. Just walk straight out and you'll get off this street. But there's a million-dollar bounty on your head now..." He looked up at me, "Xiao Wu, you can go. I'll sit here for an hour. If you're still alive after an hour, I'll catch up with you and finish you off myself. All I can do is give you a chance. Let's see if you can get out of here!"

After saying that, Jinhe turned away and stopped looking at me.

To be honest, I feel empty inside.

It was so empty, like something had hollowed me out completely, leaving nothing but a shell standing there. My legs felt weak, and I really wanted to just lie down on the ground, close my eyes... and give up!

But as soon as I hesitated, the instinct for survival began to rise from the bottom of my heart... I can't describe the feeling; it was as if some force was driving me to take difficult steps toward the door.

Jinhe stood behind me, with his back to me, and didn't move.

I don't even know how I got to the door. Those few steps felt like an eternity. When I finally reached out and grasped the cold doorknob, and pulled the door open, the light from outside streamed into the room, and the cool night breeze blew on my somewhat numb face...

In that instant, all my strength seemed to return... It was dark outside, but there was wind, lights, and twinkling stars.

This world has suddenly captivated me so much!

A sudden surge of survival instinct welled up inside me. I trembled slightly, turned back and gave Jinhe a deep look. I felt my voice was hoarse as I slowly said, "Jinhe, please pass on a message to Brother Huan... Over the years, I've always regarded him as my true elder brother... even like my father!"

With the faint light coming in from outside, I could vaguely see Jinhe's back tremble slightly.

I gritted my teeth, slammed the door shut, and hurried away...

In my heart, it was absolutely so!

Part 1: A Man in the Martial World, Forced to His Own Destiny - Chapter 120: Kill! Kill! Kill!

The wind isn't cold, but my heart is. The night isn't chilly, but my heart is cold!

I walked down the stairs with my mind almost blank. Sure enough, there was no one in the courtyard. There was a path at the back of the courtyard. Following the path, there was an iron gate right in front of me.

The door was unlocked; Jinhe wasn't lying. Just one step outside led to the main street.

My mind is in turmoil, my heart is in turmoil, and it feels like there's only one sentence on my mind.

Huan-ge... is going to kill me!

Brother Huan wants to kill me?

Huan Ge wants to kill me...

I want to burst out laughing. I, Xiao Wu, abandoned my family and wife for his daughter, living like a stray dog, yet I insisted on keeping my promise. Now... he wants to kill me!

For five whole years, I regarded him as my elder brother and my loving father, and now he wants to kill me!

The long street was deserted at night. I didn't know what time it was; I hadn't checked the clock when I came out, and I don't usually wear a watch. I just noticed that there were few pedestrians on the roadside, many shops were already closed, and the streetlights were shining brightly, creating a sparse and desolate scene.

Jinhe's words still echoed in my ears.

"If you haven't died at the hands of outsiders in an hour, I'll personally finish you off!"

One hour!

One hour!

Suddenly, I felt an overwhelming sense of resentment and anger!

Why! Why! Why!

He gave a bitter smile, and the violent impulse within him slowly began to grow.

Take my life? Hahaha!! Hahaha!!

I slapped myself hard across the face, forcing myself to calm down. Even though I bit my lip until it bled, the slight pain still awakened my will to live and my composure.

I feel like I've just woken up from a dream! It's as if everything that just happened was a nightmare, and now I'm walking in reality.

Who knows how many hidden dangers lurk in the surrounding streets? I put my hand in my pocket and touched the handle of the serrated knife.

It was hard and cold, which made me feel a little more at ease.

After walking along several streets, I began to consider my current situation. My most urgent task now was to find a way to leave Guangzhou!

Forget about train stations, absolutely not. As for public transportation, there's basically nothing we can do about it.

Just as I was thinking this, I suddenly stopped in my tracks!

The street was dimly lit, and a car repair and auto parts shop owner was preparing to close the shutters.

The long street had fallen silent, save for the occasional flickering of a single streetlamp overhead, seemingly due to a faulty connection. I saw a van slowly pull up in the middle of the road. It pulled sideways, the door opened, and six or seven long-haired thugs in floral shirts jumped out. Each of them was carrying a weapon.

When I turned around, I saw several figures appear at the intersection behind me, approaching me like ghosts.

Did they arrive so quickly?

A cold smile appeared on my face. But my heart sank deeper...

The men in front and behind were closing in. I suddenly stopped, quickly took off my coat, and then carefully wrapped it layer by layer around my left arm, several thick layers in total. I moved swiftly, then tied a tight knot with the sleeve, took a deep breath, and pulled the serrated dagger from my pocket, gripping it in my right hand. I strode towards the six or seven thugs in front of me.

"That's him! Kill him!" one of them shouted, and the others rushed over quickly.

I saw a knife coming down right in front of me, and I immediately dodged to the side. The blade almost grazed my nose. At the same time, I punched the man in the nose. He screamed and his nose shattered as he fell to the ground.

In this desperate moment, I attacked with all my might, showing no mercy! A blade slashed down from behind. I raised my left arm to block it. *Swoosh!* The blade struck my left arm, but luckily I had a coat wrapped around it in several layers. The blade tore through several layers of fabric but didn't injure my flesh. I retaliated by plunging the blade into his neck, then swiftly pulled it out…

Crimson blood splattered, splashing onto me. I felt a warm sensation on my face and neck. The man clutched his neck and went limp. The others, far from being afraid of blood, were instead emboldened by it!

I know these aren't ordinary thugs; they're all thugs who'd risk their lives!

My short knife flashed in my hand as I used my left arm, which was wrapped in clothes, to block the attacks. However, blades were everywhere. I took down another man, and the knife pierced his shoulder. But when he struggled, I didn't have time to pull the knife out. Although I had taken him down, I had lost my weapon.

At the same time, a sharp pain shot through my back as a knife slashed across it. I immediately felt a searing pain in my back, followed by a hot, wet patch, blood staining my robes. I stumbled forward, and a man directly in front of me thrust a knife straight at my chest. In my haste, I stopped, forcefully shifting my body to the side to avoid his blade, then gripped his wrist tightly and jerked it back…

The man lost his balance, so I used the momentum to my advantage, gripping his wrist and plunging the knife into his own abdomen. Then I swiftly moved behind him, pulled out the long sword…

Blood gushed from the man's abdomen as he slowly collapsed to the ground. I slowly backed away, my eyes filled with hysterical murderous intent as I glared at the people in front of me.

There were eleven people in total, four of whom I had already taken down. The one I stabbed in the shoulder was lying on the ground, his body twitching uncontrollably, and he was clearly going to die.

At that moment, I was like a mad tiger, my eyes bloodshot, and I shouted with my sword drawn, "Come on! Come on!"

I held my head high, despite the excruciating pain in my back and my face contorted in agony. My body stood straight as a javelin, my clothes stained with blood, as I arrogantly stared at the people in front of me!

The remaining few hesitated for a moment, and just then, two more vans sped up down the street. The doors opened, and a dozen or so burly men jumped out. Each of them was carrying a machete, and they pounced on me.

The men in front of me immediately grew bolder and charged at me again, brandishing their swords. I spotted one of them and stepped forward to parry his downward slash with my own sword. Then I kicked him in the groin, and a sword came thrusting from my left, but instead of dodging, I charged straight at it!

The blade sliced almost right into my shoulder blade, and blood gushed out like crimson satin! Just as his blade struck my shoulder, I retaliated with a swift backhand slash across his neck. Blood sprayed onto my face, and my vision instantly turned crimson!

The man dropped the knife, clutched his neck, and slowly went limp. I immediately stepped back. Panting heavily, the man's knife was still stuck in my shoulder blade. I gritted my teeth, pulled it out with my backhand, and held it in my left hand. Holding the knife in both hands, I looked at the group of people in front of me.

They seemed stunned, as if they hadn't expected me to be so tough, killing several people in one go, yet still glaring at them like a wolf. I knew my gaze must have been terrifying; my face was completely contorted, and although I was panting, I forced my head back despite the pain!

“He’s all alone! What are you afraid of!” one of them shouted, and they quickly surrounded me.

“Kill him! There’s a million!” the second man shouted.

My eyes immediately locked onto the man, and I lunged at him. He dodged backward, but I was faster, crashing into his arms and plunging my knife into his chest. Blood spurted from his mouth. I had barely pulled my knife out and hadn't even turned around when I felt a sharp pain in my right arm. A knife had struck my arm from the right, and my right hand went limp, the knife falling to the ground. I gritted my teeth, spun around on the spot, and using the momentum of the turn, swung my left knife in a slash.

Just as the other man was pulling his knife back, I slashed his arm. I heard him scream as his severed arm flew into the air. He sat on the ground clutching his arm, howling in agony. I wasn't faring much better; someone behind me slashed my back with a knife. I nearly fainted.

I felt all my strength draining away rapidly, and the massive blood loss caused the heat in my body to dissipate little by little. I even felt like I couldn't hold the knife in my hand anymore.

After parrying a couple of times, I sustained more wounds, especially from one of the guys I had slashed down. After falling to the ground, he actually slashed my thigh with his knife, causing me to stumble and almost fall over.

I knew I was about to die, but my will to live grew stronger and stronger! I suddenly shoved someone aside with my shoulder and ran forward as fast as I could.

With cars blocking my way from both sides of the long street, I spotted a car repair shop next door that was preparing to close.

The family had already closed their door in fear after seeing the brawl on the main street, but now the roller shutter was down while the side door was still open. I rushed over, crashed into the door, and then used my knife to force aside a man who looked like a boss. My face and body were covered in blood, and without hesitation, I punched the boss unconscious.

The small door behind me was already closed, but it was being smashed open with a loud banging. The small metal plates on these roller shutters wouldn't hold for long, so I grabbed a metal wrench from the ground and wrenched it against the lock. The main door continued to rumble, as if it were about to collapse. I immediately ran towards the back of the repair shop.

There must be a back door here! I mustered my last bit of strength and staggered toward the back, smashing open a wooden door. Behind it was a tool shed, filled with wrenches, hammers, welding rods, and auto parts of all sizes, filling the entire warehouse.

I rushed inside, where there was another door. I twisted it twice and found it was locked, so I simply picked up a hammer and smashed it open.

The whole process only took me a dozen seconds.

I pushed open the gate, and behind it was a typical southern courtyard with several houses inside! Although it was night and all the lights were off, and everyone was probably asleep, the sound of me smashing the door still startled quite a few people. I saw that the lights in several rooms were already on. I grabbed a pair of pliers from the storeroom and a pointed screwdriver, tucked it into my waistband, and quickly jumped into the courtyard.

There were no doors or walls in the yard; it was surrounded by houses on all sides. I vaguely heard a loud bang as if the main gate of the repair shop had been smashed open!

There was no time for hesitation! My life hung by a thread! I leaped up and kicked open the door of a house! Luckily, it was an old-fashioned wooden door. Although the impact made my leg wound throb with pain, I crashed into it. Inside was a bedroom. There was a couple on the bed. They were awakened by my presence and rolled off the bed. The woman was screaming, and the man was pale with fright, looking at my blood-covered appearance.

I quickly shouted, "It has nothing to do with you, just don't move and everything will be fine!"

Then, in the darkness, I found the door, turned the lock, and ran out.

Sure enough, it was another street outside. As soon as I stepped out, I heard screams behind me. A group of people chasing me had already followed me.

I dashed down the long street...

My legs felt weak, and the wound on my leg reopened, making me run much slower than usual. I was bleeding profusely, and I didn't even know how much longer I could hold on!

At that moment, my only thought was:

run!

run!!

run!!!

As I turned a corner, I realized someone was catching up with me. I reached for a nearby trash can, and the person behind me tripped over it. I then turned into a small alley.

This is a city completely unfamiliar to me. I don't know how many turns I've made in these alleys. Each dark intersection seems like a monster that will devour me, but I have no choice! I don't know when one of my shoes came off. I pressed my hand hard against the wound on my shoulder, but blood still kept flowing out from between my fingers.

The more I ran, the colder I felt, I was freezing!

Finally, after rushing through the last intersection, I arrived at a relatively bustling street.

This is clearly a street full of late-night snacks.

As I rushed out of the alley, I crashed headfirst into a table. There were people eating at the table, and when I bumped into them, the table immediately overturned, and I fell to the ground, spilling my food all over me. People nearby screamed at the sight of my horrific blood-covered appearance and quickly backed away.

I struggled to my feet, then glanced around. The street vendor was trembling and watching me from the side. I rushed over, picked up a roll of toilet paper from the table, and pressed it hard against the wound on my shoulder to stop the bleeding. Then, staggering, I hurriedly chose a direction and continued running.
