Kapitel 26

Xi Jia drove back to the city.

Mo Yushen had already arrived at the restaurant's private room. He had a meeting in the afternoon, so he had silenced his phone and then forgot to put it back on.

Cheng Weiming and Jiang Qin had been there for a while and were chatting.

When Mo Yushen came in, Jiang Qin snorted. She was still angry.

Since they rarely got together, Cheng Weiming mediated between them. He told Jiang Qin, "Just name your conditions; he can't refuse them."

Mo Yushen hung up his trench coat, sat down, and glanced at Jiang Qin, "Are you planning to cause trouble until the New Year?"

Jiang Qin glared at him, then turned her face away, not wanting to look at him.

Cheng Weiming poured Mo Yushen a cup of tea. "Isn't Xinglan going to adapt Mr. Yue's work recently? I heard that Zhou Mingqian is the director. Is there a suitable role for Jiang Qin?"

Before Mo Yushen could speak, Jiang Qin said quietly, "The female lead."

Cheng Weimo still trusts Jiang Qin's acting skills.

A moment of silence.

Mo Yushen asked Jiang Qin, "Are you sure you want to act?"

Jiang Qin countered, "What do you think?"

Afterwards, the group talked about Mr. Yue's work.

The food arrived, and we ate and chatted.

The atmosphere was fairly harmonious.

The youngest son in the drama is a lawyer with a stubborn, even obsessive, personality, and his love life is full of ups and downs.

As he spoke, Mo Yushen looked at Cheng Weiming. He had been so busy in the past six months that he forgot to ask, "Weren't you pursuing someone before? It's been a year and you still haven't won her over?"

This problem came unexpectedly.

Cheng Weiming paused slightly with his chopsticks, then smiled faintly, "I didn't find out before I started pursuing her that she was already married."

Mo Yushen nodded. He had originally wanted to ask what the woman looked like that made him so concerned, but now he didn't need to ask anymore.

Jiang Qin looked at Cheng Weiming, subconsciously biting her lip, then picked up some food to eat, but couldn't taste it.

Mo Yushen's phone screen lit up on the table; a call was coming in.

It's Xi Jia.

"Mr. Mo, are you done with work? I'd like to treat you to dinner tonight; I've already received my bonus."

Mo Yushen: "Next time, when we eat it."

Xi Jia was clearly taken aback, then smiled and said, "I won't bother you anymore, you go ahead with your work."

After hanging up the phone, Xi Jia said to the waiter, "One serving, thank you."

Mo Yushen turned on his phone's volume and saw an unread message; Xi Jia had sent him a message an hour earlier.

The air pressure in the private room was a bit low, so Jiang Qin excused herself to go to the restroom to get some fresh air.

As Jiang Qin walked through the hall, she stopped in her tracks.

Xi Jia was folding napkins by the window.

This woman is truly a persistent ghost.

Jiang Qin stepped over.

Bored, Xi Jia folded the napkins into various shapes, then unfolded them, then folded them again.

"They really have a lot of leisure time."

Xi Jia looked up and saw that the woman sitting opposite her was extremely annoying.

The visitor is not friendly.

Xi Jia folded the napkin into a flower shape. "Want an autograph?"

Jiang Qin: "..."

In the morning, Cheng Weimo told her that Xi Jia's memory was declining and she could hardly remember people she didn't know well.

She found it quite funny that someone could actually selectively forget things according to their own wishes?

These are only good for fooling men.

Anyway, she doesn't believe it.

Jiang Qin looked at Xi Jia. Since she loved acting so much, she would be a good person and play along to the end.

She introduced herself, "Jiang Qin, Mo Yushen's childhood friend."

Xi Jia's expression remained largely unchanged. "Okay, I understand. You can go now."

Jiang Qin pursed her lips slightly, "I don't know if you really don't remember or if you're just pretending to have amnesia. If you don't remember, why did you still know to follow Mo Yushen and play hard to get?"

He paused for a moment.

Jiang Qin looked at her and said, "Xi Jia, no matter what your mindset is, Mo Yushen has already been more than kind, postponing the divorce until tomorrow to avoid affecting your equestrian competition. As for you, whether you want to have fun or play hard to get, you should know when to stop. Put away your amnesia. Also, your spoiled princess temper is not something most people can handle."

Xi Jia stopped what she was doing.

She realized that Mo Yushen was eating at this restaurant.

Moreover, her marriage to Mo Yushen was problematic.

divorce?

Jiang Qin crossed her arms and said, "No matter what, you've been husband and wife. Mo Yushen has always respected you. You should try to respect him too, and don't drag things out."

It would be best to leave tomorrow; out of sight, out of mind.

Mo Yushen can marry anyone, but not Xi Jia.

It's upsetting.

Jiang Qin stood up.

Xi Jia: "Wait a minute."

Jiang Qin was confused.

Xi Jia dialed the number, and it was answered quickly.

Xi Jia put the phone on speakerphone. "Come out here. I'm in the lobby outside. Your childhood friend is here too."

Jiang Qin: "..."

She didn't care.

Mo Yushen was a beat slow to react before he got up and walked out.

Cheng Weiming looked at his retreating figure and asked, "What's wrong?"

As he spoke, he got up.

Mo Yushen: "Xi Jia is at this restaurant."

The sound of hurried footsteps came from behind.

Jiang Qin turned around.

Mo Yushen and Cheng Weimo both came out.

Jiang Qin looked at Xi Jia again; she was just a troublemaker.

Cheng Weimo looked at Xi Jia, whose gaze casually swept across his face before settling on Mo Yushen.

"Are you bored or something?" Cheng Weiming pulled Jiang Qin away.

Jiang Qin shook him off, "Let go! I haven't settled accounts with you yet. Didn't you say you cleared the place in advance? How come Xi Jia was able to get in?"

Cheng Weimo lowered his voice: "This restaurant is owned by Ji Qingshi, and Xi Jia is the big boss. Who would dare to stop her from entering?"

"Then why can't you choose another restaurant?"

"..."

Meanwhile, Cheng Weiming and Jiang Qin returned to their private room.

Mo Yushen sat opposite Xi Jia.

The food Xi Jia ordered arrived, but she didn't even look up and continued eating.

Mo Yushen asked, "What did Jiang Qin say to you?"

Xi Jia put her plate aside, wiped her mouth, and said, "Mo Yushen, I didn't follow you. This restaurant is mine. I usually eat here when I'm out alone. Also, you know best whether I'm faking amnesia or really sick. I haven't lied about what I can and can't remember. I don't need to fake amnesia to gain other people's sympathy."

Mo Yu understood what Jiang Qin had said.

Xi Jia took out a notebook from her bag, flipped through the pages backwards, and looked at them one by one until she found a useful record at the end of last month.

That was her first night staying at Mo Yushen's villa after returning from the mountains.

Xi Jia held up her notebook for Mo Yushen to see. "That night I asked you two questions. First, how come we're strangers? You said we'd only been together for less than twenty days. Second, I asked you if you wanted a divorce, because I said my life would be a mess if I stayed like this. You didn't answer."

Mo Yushen stared at her.

Xi Jia continued, "As long as you want a divorce, I won't drag it out. As for disrespecting your decision, playing hard to get, or even pestering you, I don't think I'm that kind of woman. Of course, I'm still quite grateful that you postponed the divorce until after the competition."

Mo Yu understood that Cheng Weiming must have inadvertently revealed the post-match divorce to Jiang Qin.

Xi Jia put away her notebook and held out her hand. "Give me the divorce agreement. I'll sign it for you now, and we'll pick up the divorce certificate tomorrow."

Her eyes were full of stubbornness, obstinacy, and pride.

There was also a faint, damp mist.

Mo Yushen stared at her for a few seconds.

His Adam's apple bobbed.

Xi Jia squinted, turned her head to look out the window, and adjusted her breathing.

Mo Yushen casually placed his phone on the sofa, moved his hands under the table, took out a ring from his pocket, and quietly put it on his ring finger.

Xi Jia didn't notice Mo Yushen's actions. After a moment, she turned her face and still insisted, "Go and print out the divorce agreement now. I have to sign it tonight."

She was serious.
