Kapitel 13

There was no resistance, no obstruction, only joy and elation.

The whole world was overjoyed at Lin Yi's arrival.

Many fragmented images flashed before Lin Yi's eyes, awakening some memories dormant in his heart: the thousand-year-old tree demon, the Black Mountain Demon, the Imperial Advisor Wu Tian...

This world is called "A Chinese Ghost Story".

At this very moment, the world has reached the moment of the alternation of the sun and moon, with the rising sun shining brightly.

But today, all the glory has been stolen by a dazzling shooting star.

At the Celestial Master's Mansion on Longhu Mountain, a young Taoist boy who looked only eight or nine years old, with rosy lips and white teeth, and a delicate, exquisite appearance, looked at the shooting star in the sky that rivaled the sun in brilliance, and muttered to himself, "The end of the Dharma is approaching, and a sage will emerge."

At Yuhua Peak of Kunlun Mountain, a dignified middle-aged Taoist priest, also startled by the strange phenomenon in the sky, exclaimed, "In the long night of eternity, a sage has descended from heaven."

On the mountainside of Chaoyang Peak, the eastern peak of Mount Hua, an old Taoist priest with white hair and a long beard awoke from his sleep. While yawning, he counted on his fingers and murmured, "A great dream spanning thousands of years, what year is it tonight?"

In the Imperial Preceptor's residence in the capital of the Ming Dynasty, a lama looked up at the sky, remaining silent for a long time.

He sensed danger from that alien star, but unfortunately, he was neither skilled in divination nor had he mastered the Buddhist secret method of reincarnation, so he could only lament his predicament.

Beyond the human realm, in the darker side of the world, in the underworld, the Black Mountain Ghost Army occupying the City of the Wrongfully Dead, the Great Ming Dragon Court which possessed the destiny of humanity, and the remaining underworld ghosts and gods all sensed the changes in heaven and earth.

At the same time, Lin Yi also looked completely bewildered.

He never expected his entrance to be so spectacular. He announced his arrival to the whole world in such a dazzling way.

Lin Yi has always adhered to the principle of keeping a low profile and cultivating quietly. Even when the Dayan Temple changed hands and he lost his place of residence, it did not shake him in the slightest.

"Times change, and if I can't change the world, then I'll change myself!" Lin Yi said to himself. Looking around, he saw lush, verdant trees all around him.

Lin Yi lightly touched the ground with his feet and walked as fast as lightning. In no time, he left the woods and came to a road.

------------

Chapter Eleven: Xuanyuan Hill, Ancestral God's Ballad

The streets were deserted, with no pedestrians in sight.

The road leads to a large mountain in the distance, and some buildings can be vaguely seen on the mountain.

After thinking for a moment, Lin Yi headed towards the mountains.

The presence of buildings signifies the presence of traces of human activity.

Even if you can't find the person, they can still provide a lot of useful information.

Although it's said that "looking at a mountain makes a horse run itself to death," Lin Yi's breathing was long and continuous, so he moved forward very quickly.

About half an incense stick's time later, a winding river appeared before Lin Yi.

There is a bridge over the river. On the east side of the bridge, the three characters "Xuanyuan Bridge" are engraved in seal script. On the west side of the bridge, there is a stone tablet with the three characters "Ji River" inscribed on it.

"Xuanyuan Bridge, Ji River," Lin Yi murmured, then turned his gaze to the green mountains on the other side. "That should be Qiaoshan Mountain."

The Records of the Grand Historian, Volume 1, Annals of the Five Emperors, states: "The Yellow Emperor died and was buried at Qiaoshan."

Qiaoshan was the dwelling place of the Youqiao clan in ancient times, and was called Qiaoshan.

During the Yellow Emperor's era, it was called "Xuanyuan Hill" or "Xuanyuan Terrace," from which the Yellow Emperor derived his name "Xuanyuan." The Yellow Emperor's central palace was located here, which later evolved into Qiaoshan.

In his previous life, Lin Yi had planned to travel to Qiaoshan, but due to a serious illness, the plan was indefinitely postponed.

I never expected that my wish would come true today.

After crossing the Ji River, Lin Yi began his ascent towards Qiaoshan Mountain.

At the foot of Qiaoshan Mountain is the Xuanyuan Temple, and at the summit is the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor.

In the third year of the Hongwu reign of Emperor Taizu of Ming, Emperor Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang issued an edict to offer sacrifices to the Yellow Emperor and to repair the Yellow Emperor's mausoleum and temple. At the same time, he appointed two fifth-rank officials to guard the mausoleum at the Xuanyuan Temple, who were later concurrently appointed by the magistrate of the central county.

However, Lin Yi did not see a single person along the way.

The Ming Dynasty in this world is nearing its end, and many of its rules have become mere formalities.

The ancestral offerings are no longer being able to continue.

Stepping into the dilapidated Xuanyuan Temple, a sense of desolation washes over me.

Lin Yi gently stroked the broken sword at his waist, and a popular online song called "Ballad of the Ancestral Gods" echoed in his mind: "Those broken giant mountains are the backbone of heaven and earth. That hardened yellow mud is the blood plasma of the earth. Those mountains of bones are the sorrow of our ancestors... Do you remember a name called Yanhuang? The hope of our ancestors flows in your blood..."

Compared to the world called the "World of Immortality," this world, though devoid of immortals and Buddhas, overrun by demons and monsters, and in a state of decline, has seen a glimmer of hope.

Lin Yi suddenly felt a heavy weight on his shoulders.

It turns out that the path of sainthood, beyond civilization and enlightenment, conquest and slaughter, also includes responsibility and commitment.

"How can one transcend the world without engaging with it? The ancients were right."

As Lin Yi spoke, his gaze fell on a tall, ancient cypress tree on the west side.

This cypress tree has a strong and upright trunk, green leaves, a canopy-like crown, and a majestic presence.

After looking it over, Lin Yi exclaimed, "This cypress tree must be the 'Xuanyuan Cypress'."

The "Complete Collection of National Books" records: "In Zhongbu County, there is a Xuanyuan Cypress in the Xuanyuan Temple. According to miscellaneous records, it was planted by the Yellow Emperor. It is 24 feet in circumference and can reach the sky."

A mountain breeze blew by, and the branches and leaves of the Xuanyuan cypress rustled and whispered.
