Kapitel 98

"Her New Clothes" is a fashion design variety show tailored for female celebrities. The first season features six female celebrity guests, whose designers include big-name brands, independent designers, and those who own their own brands.

Their fame varies, but their overall strength should not be underestimated.

The show features a theme for each episode, where designers create ready-to-wear clothing for a female celebrity within two days. The entire process is filmed on camera, and the production team provides the clothing, fabric, and venues.

Finally, female celebrities will appear in ready-to-wear outfits to showcase their performances. Professional judges, including off-site judges, will score the performances. The highest score accumulated over eight episodes will be crowned the fashion queen of this season.

Not only that, but for each issue, the clothing designs are copyrighted by brands, and soon after, new products are launched, making them the same style worn by celebrities.

Designers who already have their own brands will have their work given directly to the company. Those who create their own brands will mostly launch them themselves. Some independent designers will auction off the copyright of their ready-to-wear garments on-site, with the highest bidder winning.

This is also a major highlight.

"Her New Clothes" combines the entertainment industry with fashion and commerce, creating a brand new and unique variety show.

The first season's trial run was a resounding success.

The show topped viewership ratings in its time slot, generated significant online buzz, and most importantly, every celebrity-endorsed outfit featured sold remarkably well. The designers and guests saw their fame and market value skyrocket, bringing the fashion industry to the forefront of public attention.

Jiang Jianhuan glanced at them and saw that the designers from the previous season were now famous, frequently collaborating with celebrities and big names, and receiving so many design offers that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Although things weren't bad before, compared to now, it's like heaven and earth.

The difference between a top-tier designer and an ordinary designer is like the difference between a top-tier celebrity and an obscure one. Some people can earn tens of millions effortlessly, while others struggle their whole lives and still can't even reach a fraction of that.

The same applies to the fashion industry.

There is a huge, unimaginable gap between the price when someone is unknown and the price after they become famous.

Just like similar T-shirts, once a big brand's logo is added, they can sell for dozens of times more than ordinary T-shirts.

Of course, this is not to say that the T-shirt is bad, but in addition to its intrinsic value, the brand name gives it a different meaning, and people are willing to pay for the benefits brought by the brand.

Furthermore, fame comes from strength, and a logo symbolizes the public's trust in the product, which is equivalent to a requirement for you to always maintain top-notch strength, otherwise you will gradually deplete the reputation you have accumulated.

The guests this season are all much higher-profile. For example, in the past, they were all second, third, or fourth-tier minor celebrities, but this season they have invited two popular young actresses, Chi Lan and You Yan.

The other categories are slightly lower in quality, but their popularity is still quite high, and they frequently appear on television.

The guests have all been officially announced and confirmed, but the list of designers has not yet been released. However, after listening to their discussion at noon, Jiang Jianhuan roughly knows that il, a brand of the same level as iro, will also have a designer participating, since the sponsorship is split between the two companies.

Given the current popularity and fame of "Her New Clothes", it will be somewhat difficult for iro to secure exclusive title sponsorship.

There are about three spots for independent designers, and one more spot will reportedly be chosen from niche designers who have their own brands.

Jiang Jianhuan's gaze lingered on Chi Lan's name, and as she recalled her connection with Zhou Ran, she fell into deep thought.

When she arrived at work this morning, Jiang Yuan chatted with her briefly, mostly about the training at headquarters, without mentioning the program at all. If they hadn't gone out for lunch today, Jiang Jianhuan wouldn't have known about it.

Does all of this imply some kind of meaning?

The people the company sent to participate in the competition had actually already been decided internally.

Jiang Jianhuan tightened his grip on the mouse.

No matter what, she was determined to try.

With something weighing on her mind, she couldn't find the relief of going home after get off work. As usual, she couldn't find a seat on the bus during rush hour. Holding onto the handrail, she swayed from side to side in the crowded carriage, which resembled a can of sardines.

At the pedestrian crossing ahead, someone ran a red light. With a sudden stop, a white-collar woman wearing a shirt and a skirt lost her footing in her high heels and almost fell to the ground. She stood up awkwardly and apologized repeatedly to the passenger in front of her who had been affected.

Jiang Jianhuan was secretly relieved, as she was used to keeping a pair of high heels at the company and changing into flats when going to and from get off work.

Life is strange. During the day, you're in a high-end office building, glamorous and confident, interacting with all sorts of elites. But as soon as you get off work, you're back to square one, all the glamour gone, becoming just another inconspicuous member of the city.

Especially in the circle she's in, the allure of fame and fortune is even greater.

After getting off the bus, I passed the fruit shop at the street corner. Imported cherries were displayed in the most eye-catching place outside. They looked like dark red gems, large, fresh, round, plump, and juicy.

Seeing the price tag on the side, Jiang Jianhuan reluctantly turned her gaze away and quickened her pace toward home.

As Jiang Jianhuan took out her keys at the door, she was still pondering whether to cook noodles or frozen dumplings for dinner. But as soon as she opened the door, the aroma of food wafted out.

The air was filled with the aroma of mushrooms and chicken, but not quite; there seemed to be something called happiness permeating it as well.

Jiang Jianhuan peeked into the kitchen, her voice rising with delight.

“Su Mo—”

He was tasting the chicken soup with a spoon, wearing an apron he didn't know he'd found, when he saw Jiang Jianhuan's bright smile and waved to her.

"Come on, give it a try."

Su Mo used the wooden spoon in her hand to scoop some soup from the casserole and handed it to her.

"I think it's just right, you should try it."

Jiang Jianhuan lowered her head and took a sip from his hand. The chicken soup was rich in flavor, with a hint of mushroom aroma. It was perfectly seasoned and delicious.

"Delicious." Jiang Jianhuan gave him a thumbs up without hesitation.

Su Mo's eyes crinkled into a smile.

He made soup today, and there were already two side dishes on the table. Jiang Jianhuan had just finished serving rice and setting out chopsticks when he saw Su Mo carrying a beige casserole out of the kitchen in thick gloves.

"I feel like you haven't been eating much lately." Su Mo has learned her lesson now and doesn't dare say she's lost weight.

"It's definitely not as good as what you made," Jiang Jianhuan said contentedly, holding her bowl and drinking her soup.

In fact, she hardly ate her fill during the two weeks she was away on business. The hotel provided mainly Western food, with some Chinese food as well, but the taste was rather disappointing.
