Kapitel 82

Day 3

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

Is Li Boyang here?

Just as Li Boyang was about to go out to the library to read some books, there was a knock on the door of the suite.

"Who are you?"

Li Boyang opened the door and found a man standing in front of him who looked wealthy and was somewhat overweight.

Wei Jie patted his seemingly slightly overweight belly and said, "You must be Li Boyang. My name is Wei Jie, you can also call me Elder Wei. Would you like me to come in and have a seat?"

"please."

Although he didn't know why an elder from the other party had come to see him, Li Boyang still led the other party into the room.

"Oh dear, why are there so few amenities in the room? Steward Kang really doesn't know how to handle things. I'll have to give him a good talking to next time."

After entering the room, Wei Jie looked around and naturally picked up a chair and sat down.

Li Boyang asked directly and bluntly, "Elder Wei, what brings you here to see me?"

Wei Jie ignored him and asked on his own, "Boyang, you are the former sect leader's disciple, right?"

Li Boyang remained silent on this issue.

Seeing the other party's attitude, Wei Jie didn't mind and continued, "Donghua Peak used to be under Elder Liang's jurisdiction. He was your master's personal disciple. Unfortunately, your master passed away, and he was transferred back to the Six Yang Sect."

After saying this, he added with a special sigh, "What a pity about Sect Leader Yue."

"I don't know what this has to do with me?"

Wei Jie rambled on and on, leaving Li Boyang completely bewildered and unable to guess the other party's purpose.

Wei Jie continued, "I wonder if Boyang has ever heard the saying, 'A new emperor brings a new court'?"

Li Boyang frowned, as if he had grasped a key point.

"If Sect Leader Yue hadn't passed away, and Elder Liang had continued to preside over Donghua Peak, your status would be similar to that of the Crown Prince."

"Um... no, that analogy is a bit inappropriate. If Sect Leader Yue hadn't died, you would have been a true disciple, much stronger than the crown prince of a low-level kingdom on Donghua Peak."

Wei Jie contradicted himself immediately after saying the first sentence.

At this point, although Li Boyang was not entirely sure of Wei Jie's purpose, he had a pretty good idea.

Do you know how many stewards there are in the outer sect?

Wei Jie suddenly brought up another matter.

"nature."

Li Boyang had already learned about it yesterday. There are more than 500 outer disciples of Donghua Peak, managed by five outer disciples. These five disciples were actually appointed by Elder Liang during his tenure.

Now there should only be 4 left. One of them has been removed from his position and reassigned to Donghua Junior High School, which is equivalent to exile.

Wei Jie looked at Li Boyang and suddenly laughed: "Boyang is a smart man. I'm not afraid to tell you, you were originally going to Zhenghua Peak, but I forced you to stay at Donghua Peak. Do you know why?"

If Li Boyang still didn't understand the other party's purpose at this point, then he would be truly foolish.

Wei Jie is trying to seize power; this is a power struggle between the old and new factions in Donghua Peak.

The remaining four deacons can be considered as beneficiaries of the existing power structure in Donghua Peak, or as local bullies.

Wei Jie is like a powerful dragon crossing the river; to seize power, he must remove these four deacons. However, the other party has not admitted any wrongdoing, and he cannot find an excuse for the time being.

It should be noted that although Wei Jie is an elder, he does not have the authority to directly appoint or dismiss deacons. At most, he can use his power to make things difficult for these deacons.

The sect leader is aloof from factions, values integrity, and does not take sides. Therefore, if the deacons want to leave, they must do so voluntarily.

"I refuse."

Before Wei Jie could even speak, Li Boyang directly bet on the other party's words.

Wei Jie seemed somewhat surprised, as if he hadn't expected this.

"You want to make me your pawn? To mold me into a flag? And then send me to fight those deacons, with you backing me up?"

"I'm sorry, I just want to focus on my spiritual practice."

Li Boyang stated his guess directly, and judging from Wei Jie's expression, he was right.

Wei Jie was momentarily at a loss for words, and managed to say:

"Aren't you going to listen to my terms?"

“I understand your plans. There is no right or wrong in what you have done. You are an elder, and it is only a matter of time before you resolve this matter.”

"So it might be faster with me around, but it doesn't matter if I'm not there. I just want to cultivate in peace and don't want to get involved in any trouble."

The power transition caused by the change of leadership is something we've seen far too often on Earth. When a leader changes, he will naturally replace him with his own cronies, while the original leaders will either submit to him or leave.

The current situation at Donghua Peak is that those deacons are clinging to their immediate interests and putting up a stubborn resistance, but failure is only a matter of time, as the elders' power is inherently suppressive.

As the saying goes, a higher-ranking official can crush you.

Looking at Li Boyang's calm expression, Wei Jie said:
