Kapitel 16

In the center, there was a simple fireplace to block the wind, with some firewood next to it. The firewood at the bottom was damp and unusable, so Ji Zhaoming helped pick up a few pieces of wood that could still be lit and threw them into the fireplace.

The firelight shone on their faces.

Feeling the warmth, the rabbit immediately jumped to the fire, while the little fox hesitated for a moment before shrinking back to Ji Zhaoming's legs.

Ji Zhaoming chuckled softly and nudged the little fox on the back: "If you're cold, you should go too."

The little fox, of course, refused.

The human is the highest-ranking person here. If he can take this opportunity to please the human, he can stay. The little fox tugged at Ji Zhaoming's trouser leg and dragged him to the fire to warm up.

Ji Zhaoming waved: "Gu Yunzhou, come here quickly."

Gu Yunzhou strode to Ji Zhaoming's side, the flames illuminating half of their faces.

Gu Yunzhou noticed that Ji Zhaoming's cloak was covered in snow. After the snow melted by the fire, the fur on the cloak was wet. He reached out and wiped it off, saying, "Let's warm it up so you don't catch a cold."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Ji Zhaoming burst out laughing. Gu Yunzhou's hand, which was still helping Ji Zhaoming pull off his coat, paused slightly upon seeing this and asked, "What's wrong, Master?"

"No." Ji Zhaoming just felt that Gu Yunzhou looked like the most cold and unapproachable CEO in a novel, but in reality, he was very good at taking care of people.

After taking off the cloak, he was wearing a simple, loose white shirt. Since the cloak was already warm enough, and the air conditioning in the room was on full blast, Ji Zhaoming was wearing a short-sleeved shirt.

It was still a bit cold inside the cave. Ji Zhaoming shivered and moved closer to the fire.

Gu Yunzhou found two wooden sticks and built a triangular clothes rack. At the same time, he took off his shirt and covered Ji Zhaoming with it.

Ji Zhaoming was stunned: "No, no, no, it's not necessary."

Gu Yunzhou wasn't wearing anything underneath; his clothes were off, revealing his lean physique. Ji Zhaoming already knew Gu Yunzhou had a great body, but seeing his abs so clearly still made him pause.

Ji Zhaoming had seen other boys naked in the school's public bathroom, but for some reason, he felt a little embarrassed.

Ji Zhaoming declined, saying, "Give me your clothes, be careful not to catch a cold."

Gu Yunzhou pursed his lips: "No."

Ji Zhaoming laughed and said, "How could it not be? It's so cold here. If you don't wear anything, even the best constitution can't withstand it."

"..." Gu Yunzhou was silent for a while, then suddenly covered Ji Zhaoming's eyes. The temperature that had been warming Ji Zhaoming slowly dropped and gradually became cold.

Gu Yunzhou said, "My master."

He sighed softly: "I am a robot."

His voice also became as textured as a robot's.

Ji Zhaoming was stunned.

The topic was brought up too quickly, leaving him unsure how to react.

He always knew that Gu Yunzhou was a robot.

However, Gu Yunzhou's human form was too much like an ordinary human being, even his reactions were. Although his expression was cold, every move he made was full of human warmth, which made Ji Zhaoming gradually forget about this matter as they spent time together.

Suddenly jolted awake, Ji Zhaoming also fell silent.

“My master.” Ji Zhaoming’s expression was so silly that Gu Yunzhou’s heart softened. He forced a smile and said, “When I was born, humanity had already disappeared.”

The flames burned the firewood, occasionally making a crackling sound.

Gu Yunzhou picked up the trembling little fox. "Does Master know why they are all so afraid of me?"

Ji Zhaoming shook his head.

Gu Yunzhou said, "Because they all say that robots have no morals."

Because they have no moral bottom line, they can do whatever they want.

In fact, no race is scary. What's scary are those mad dogs that wander alone, all by themselves, with no rope to hold them back.

The robots were seen as mad dogs, and Gu Yunzhou, the leader at the top of these mad dogs, was irrational.

Gu Yunzhou was not as gentle as Ji Zhaoming had imagined.

He knew what kind of image and type Ji Zhaoming would like, and he could even pretend for a lifetime.

But that's far from enough.

Strangely enough, everyone says that robots don't understand emotions, but Gu Yunzhou knows very clearly that Ji Zhaoming's favoritism towards him stems entirely from his current appearance—human.

I don't want to stay at this stage.

“But please rest assured,” Gu Yunzhou’s hand hovered in mid-air, hesitant to touch it, “we would never hurt you, but you don’t need to be so cautious with us.”

"Okay, okay, okay," Ji Zhaoming stammered.

He knew perfectly well that Gu Yunzhou was a robot.

But Gu Yunzhou's expression was so pitiful that Ji Zhaoming immediately grabbed Gu Yunzhou's hesitant hand and said, "I believe you won't hurt me."

Gu Yunzhou gave a simple smile: "Okay."

The smile vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold expression.

The little fox wagged its tail.

Scheming.

His expression was simple and straightforward; in the past, Ji Zhaoming would have been genuinely happy.

But now, he always feels something is a little strange.

Gu He treated him very well and regarded him as a king.

But Gu Yunzhou...

I always felt that my relationship with Gu He and the others was different.

Ji Zhaoming didn't know how to describe this feeling.

Before he could think about it carefully, he heard Gu Yunzhou ask, "Are you hungry?"

Ji Zhaoming's mind wasn't on that at all, so he just went along with it and said, "Mm."

Gu Yunzhou asked, "Shall we roast the rabbit?"

Ji Zhaoming: ?

Ji Zhaoming: ? ? ?

Ji Zhaoming: "Huh? What?"

Gu Yunzhou looked away: "Let me see if there's anything to eat."

"Master," Gu Yunzhou couldn't help but ask, "How many animals do you plan to keep?"

He wondered if if the rabbit or the fox left, would he be the one to line up and get a turn?

Chapter 13

<The Beast in the Cage>

Ji Zhaoming was about to answer the question when he met Gu Yunzhou's eyes, and swallowed back what he wanted to say.

He had always thought that Gu Yunzhou's eyes were beautiful, like a cascading waterfall of silver stars embedded in a sky full of brilliance. When Gu Yunzhou looked at others, the waterfall was like the sapphire Gu Yunzhou had given him—a time frozen in time over a thousand years.

Only when facing Ji Zhaoming can the waterfall inside defy the limitations of time and slowly begin to flow, with stars as bright as stars bursting out with exquisite light.

When he looked at Ji Zhaoming so earnestly, Ji Zhaoming felt like he couldn't breathe.

I want to run away.

However, the cave was only a small space, and under that gaze, Ji Zhaoming felt he had nowhere to escape. He could only lower his head slightly to avoid Gu Yunzhou's gaze, and said in a panic, "No, not necessarily."

Gu Yunzhou nodded, indicating that he understood.

Ji Zhaoming had a naturally good sixth sense and felt that the atmosphere was stuffy. He fanned himself with his hand to avoid the topic, saying, "This looks like a cave in a martial arts novel, where the protagonist would fall off a cliff."

She shifted her buttocks to the side, but only moved a tiny bit before someone pulled her back.

Like a rabbit being grabbed by the scruff of its neck, Ji Zhaoming was frozen in fear, too terrified to move.

"It's cold over there," Gu Yunzhou said. "Be careful not to catch a cold."

"Oh, oh." Ji Zhaoming nodded hurriedly, seeing the little rabbit sitting obediently on the ground, maintaining the same posture as him.

When the little rabbit looked up, its gaze met Ji Zhaoming's.

Seeing its owner like this, the little rabbit perked up its ears, crawled to Ji Zhaoming's legs, slowly lay down, and exposed the scruff of its neck that Gu Yunzhou had lifted several times.

Ji Zhaoming's face instantly turned red.

Gu Yunzhou asked, "What martial arts novels?"

When the topic came up, Ji Zhaoming immediately got excited. He used to hide under the covers in the dark when he was a child and secretly read these novels. He started to explain to Gu Yunzhou, and as if just talking wasn't enough, he was also making quick hand gestures.

His face lit up with excitement, and Gu Yunzhou asked, "Do you really like these characters?"

“Of course!” Ji Zhaoming replied immediately. “Did you see those stones? If you focus your energy in your dantian and circulate your qi, those stones will instantly turn to ashes.”

Gu Yunzhou seemed to be deep in thought.

Ji Zhaoming didn't notice the expression on Gu Yunzhou's face, as he was engrossed in the conflicts in the martial arts novel, when he suddenly heard Gu Yunzhou's voice.

"is that so?"

Ji Zhaoming looked over.

Gu Yunzhou squatted on the ground. Next to him was a huge rock, about waist-high to Ji Zhaoming. The rock was hard, and even the flames burning in the cave entrance could not dispel the biting coldness emanating from it.

Ji Zhaoming looked puzzled, but before he could ask, he saw Gu Yunzhou reach out and lightly tap the stone with his finger.

His face remained completely still, without even a drop of sweat. The stone shattered into pieces instantly, turning to dust that drifted away in the wind, leaving not a speck of dirt behind.

Standing before him was a wall, blocked by stones year-round, lacking sunlight, and covered in moss. The dilapidated wall was overburdened, with dust flying everywhere. Gu Yunzhou spread his five fingers, and a stream of air appeared out of nowhere, swirling the dust back up.

Ji Zhaoming was stunned.

Yes, that's true. Gu Yunzhou broke the lock with his bare hands earlier. It was just a stone.

...

Such a huge rock!!!
