Mysteriöses Brennen - Kapitel 12
Qiqi and her boyfriend Xiaofa, who had originally planned to go to the movies, had to abandon their plans due to the torrential rain. Xiaofa wasn't originally named Qiqi's boyfriend, and his name had nothing to do with the character "fa" (发, meaning fortune or prosperity), but his favorite saying was, "When will I be able to make a small fortune?" Over time, everyone started calling him "Xiaofa." The two returned to Xiaofa's place and changed out of their wet clothes.
Kiki dried her hair and said, "Let me make you some soup to warm you up!"
Xiao Fa turned on the TV and said, "Great! I love your white fungus soup the most!"
Qiqi smiled and went into the kitchen.
Xiao Fa watched TV for a while, then smelled the delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen and was moved. He walked into the kitchen, hugged Qi Qi from behind, and gently kissed her long, white neck.
Kiki slowly stirred the soup in the pot with a chopstick, saying gently, "Stop messing around, be careful not to burn yourself!" Just as she finished speaking, her heart skipped a beat, and a voice in her head said, "You are not human, you are the daughter of the devil, you have no heart! Kill him!"
Kiki became very confused. Usually, she was most afraid of Xiaofa kissing her neck because it would tickle her. But today, she didn't feel anything at all. All she could hear was a faint voice in her ear saying, "You are not human, you are the daughter of the devil. You have no heart. Kill him!"
Xiao Fa said, "Why aren't you using a soup spoon?"
Qiqi snapped out of her daze and said, "I'm used to using chopsticks!"
That's too much trouble.
"Is that so?" Kiki heard those words echoing in her ears again, words that had risen from the depths of her mind: "You are not human, you are the daughter of the devil."
Kiki wanted to struggle and scream, but she knew she was in a confused state, so she could only try to suppress the terrible thoughts in her heart and say, "It's raining so hard!"
Xiao Fa comforted her, saying, "Don't be afraid, it's just thunder!"
Kiki casually replied, "Yeah, it's just thunder!"
He noticed that Qiqi was acting strangely and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Is something on your mind?"
Kiki quickly replied, "No, no."
Xiao Fa said, "Then why are you so distracted?"
Kiki covered up her lie by saying, "No!"
Qiqi turned her head and pressed her red lips to Xiaofa's lips. She put one hand on Xiaofa's neck and held the chopsticks tightly in the other hand, trembling.

Xiao Fa felt Qi Qi's body trembling, so he hugged her tightly, trying to comfort her with his embrace. He thought his girlfriend was uneasy because of the stormy night outside. Little did he know that fate was playing a cruel joke on him.
The words seemed to echo endlessly in Qiqi's ears. She trembled involuntarily in Xiaofa's arms like a frightened rabbit. One voice kept telling her, "Kill him, prove you're the daughter of the devil." Another voice told her, "He's the man you deeply love; you can't hurt him." The two voices intertwined in her ears and churned in her mind. What should she do? Qiqi felt her head spinning. Gradually, that deep, cold voice gained the upper hand. She could no longer feel Xiaofa's warm embrace; a suppressed desire surged deep within her blood—a thirst for blood, a wildness coursing through her body.
Xiao Fa was still intently feeling the lips of the woman he loved most. Unlike usual, her lips, which were usually hot and burning, were cold today.
A sinister aura overwhelmed Kiki, her eyes gleaming with a wild, predatory light. Xiao Fa sensed something was wrong with Kiki and opened his eyes. The light flashing before his eyes startled him; he was momentarily stunned.
Completely bewildered, Qiqi suddenly raised the chopsticks she was tightly gripping and plunged them fiercely into Xiaofa's eyes without warning.
Xiao Fa was completely stunned by Qi Qi's sudden action. He couldn't believe that the woman he loved would hurt him, but little did he know that the woman in front of him was no longer his girlfriend, but a wild beast that had gone out of control and was trying to tear him to pieces.
The chopsticks pierced Xiao Fa's eye without mercy, making a soft "plop" sound. Blood gushed out from the chopsticks, splattering onto the white tiled kitchen floor, creating little blood flowers.
Xiao Fa was in unbearable pain; instinctive fear and the intense pain in his eyes caused him to let out a piercing scream.
The rumbling thunder outside the window drowned out Xiao Fa's screams, which were filled with fear and despair.
Xiao Fa shoved Qi Qi away violently. Qi Qi's hand slipped, and the chopsticks landed in Xiao Fa's eye socket. She then crashed into the stove. Xiao Fa struggled to run out of the kitchen, supporting himself against the wall. A cold light flashed in Qi Qi's eyes, and a strange smile curled at the corners of her mouth.
Suddenly, she grabbed the pot of bubbling white fungus soup from the gas stove and slammed it over Xiaofa's head. Xiaofa let out a half-grown scream and collapsed like a withered log, lying motionless on the ground.
When Qiqi saw Xiaofa fall to the ground with a loud "thud," it seemed to awaken something dormant in her memories, and her eyes became somewhat glazed. But just as those warm feelings were about to well up, they were instantly replaced by a chill in her heart. Expressionless, she took out some transparent tape from the cupboard, wrapped it around Xiaofa's mouth several times from the back of his head, and then bound his hands behind his back with the tape.
Qiqi tucked Xiaofa's legs under her armpits and forcefully dragged Xiaofa into the bathroom.
After placing Xiaofa's body on the bathroom floor, Qiqi tightly wrapped Xiaofa's legs together before smiling with relief. Although she was sweating profusely, she didn't seem tired at all. She then turned and went to the kitchen, bringing back a sharp knife.
Kiki carefully cut Xiaofa's body with a knife, as if sculpting a work of art, her eyes gleaming with fervent longing. Xiaofa had long been awakened by the excruciating pain, facing the woman he deeply loved meticulously cutting him. He felt a mix of shock, anger, and fear, but unable to move, he could only groan in agony through his nose. With each cut Kiki made, Xiaofa's facial muscles trembled uncontrollably. When Kiki finished, Xiaofa's entire body was covered in crisscrossing wounds of varying depths and sizes.
Qiqi casually tossed the knife aside and left. Xiaofa curled up in agony on the bathroom floor, convulsing. He would rather die immediately than endure this endless torment any longer.
A moment later, Qiqi returned, carrying several spice boxes of various sizes. Xiao Fa immediately knew what Qiqi was going to do, and shrank into a ball in fear, looking at Qiqi with pleading eyes.
Qiqi ignored her completely and applied each seasoning from the spice box to Xiaofa's body. Xiaofa fainted from fear and pain while the chili powder was being applied, and he was completely unaware of the subsequent additions.
Seeing Xiaofa unconscious, Qiqi threw the spice box all over the floor. She first chuckled softly, then burst into loud laughter. The maniacal laughter echoed in the cramped space, sounding eerie and terrifying. Qiqi's beautiful face was no longer the angelic beauty it once was; a vicious, twisted smile appeared on her face, her entire face seemingly contorted and contorted. No one who knew her would believe that the once beautiful, gentle, pretty, and shy Qiqi would become like this today.
After the laughter subsided, the cold, gloomy feeling slowly faded. Qiqi regained her senses and was almost stunned by what she saw. Qiqi frantically cut all the tape off Xiaofa's body, holding him in her arms and crying, "Xiaofa, what's wrong? Don't scare me, Xiaofa, wake up!" Qiqi's voice was hoarse from crying. She collapsed to the ground, slowly recalling what she had just done. That voice seemed to echo in her ears again, "You have no heart, you have no heart."
Qiqi suddenly gave a bitter smile. She didn't know where the voice came from, but she knew it clearly came from her mind.
"Do I really have no heart?" A crazy idea suddenly popped into Qiqi's mind: to cut open her body and see if she really had a heart.
Her gaze fell on the knife lying in the corner of the bathroom. It was this very knife that had inflicted so many wounds on Xiaofa. Qiqi picked up the knife; its blade gleamed in the dim red light of the bathroom. Outside the small window, thunder and lightning still raged, and the rain fell like smoke.

Kiki's earlier coldness had faded, but the hand gripping the knife remained ruthless. Looking at the chopsticks stuck in Xiao Fa's eye, she lacked the courage to pull them out. Kiki sobbed, wondering why she had hurt her lover, why she had become so insane. She didn't understand. She didn't know if she truly had no heart. In her mind, the only way to find the answer was to dissect herself and see if she truly had one.
A sorrowful despair appeared in Qiqi's eyes; she was determined to die. Having hurt her lover so deeply, she preferred death.
The car roared through the rain, but Lin Feng was covered in sweat. He frowned and asked Xiao Jie Jie, "Do you even know where her boyfriend lives?"
Looking at Lin Feng's reproachful gaze, Xiao Jiejie said aggrievedly, "I've only been here once. Besides, with such heavy rain, how could it be so easy to find!" Xiao Jiejie's little mouth twitched, and she almost cried.
On the contrary, Li Mingsheng remained the most composed, saying, "Don't worry, no one can stop what is meant to happen. Let's hope that nothing we want to see happens!"
It turned out that Lin Feng remembered the tragedy in his dream happening after a rainy day, so he asked Xiao Jie Jie to call Qi Qi, but no one answered. The group immediately decided to go out and look for her, their first thought being Qi Qi's house. Li Mingsheng guessed that with such heavy rain, the two probably wouldn't go to the movies, so they headed straight for Qi Qi's apartment. When they arrived, they knocked on the door for a long time without an answer, leading the three to assume they had gone to Xiao Jie Jie's boyfriend's house. However, Xiao Jie Jie was pointing in the rain, and the group still hadn't found the place.
Looking out the car window at the torrential rain pouring down like crazy, all three were filled with worry. Suddenly, Xiao Jiejie said, "Turn in, it's in that building over there!"
Li Mingsheng gripped the steering wheel and drove into the residential area. The torrential rain seemed to foreshadow something, and the tense atmosphere made the three of them breathless.
Qiqi gently stroked Xiaofa's face one last time and said softly, "Xiaofa, I'm sorry, I'm coming to be with you now. I won't leave you alone!"
She raised the gleaming knife, her face calm and composed, closed her eyes, and plunged the knife fiercely into her heart without the slightest hesitation.
With a "thud," blood splattered everywhere. There was no pain as she had imagined. Qiqi's mind went blank. She realized that death was not scary; what was scary was not having the courage to face it.
"You said if I meet you again in the next life, we'll be together even in death." This is the ringtone that Qiqi customized today after leaving Xiaojiejie's house.
Shouldn't I be dead? Why am I still alright after all this time? Why am I still conscious? Do I really have no heart? A deafening knocking sounded on the living room door, followed by Lin Feng's almost frantic, hoarse shouts: "Qiqi, I know you're in there! I heard your phone ringing! Open the door!"
Kiki smiled sadly and pulled the knife stuck in her heart downwards. Dropping the knife, Kiki ripped open her chest; it was empty, only blood gushing from the ruptured artery filling her chest cavity.
The door was kicked loudly.
Xiao Jie sat trembling in the car. A woman's keen intuition told her that something was wrong. Whether it was the cold or her own panic, Xiao Jie felt her body shaking uncontrollably. Lin Feng was afraid that Xiao Jie would be frightened if she went inside, so he wouldn't let her get in the car and insisted that she stay in the car until they came out. But even though she didn't get in, she could still sense that something was wrong.
With a loud bang, the door was finally forced open by the combined force of Lin Feng and Li Mingsheng.
Qiqi looked at Lin Feng and Li Mingsheng, who were standing dumbfounded at the bathroom door, and said sinisterly, "So I really don't have a heart. I'm the devil's daughter."
Seeing the bloody hole in Qiqi's chest, Lin Feng felt a chill run down his spine. His feet seemed rooted to the ground, unable to move an inch. Blood was everywhere in the bathroom. Xiao Fa lay to one side, her head slumped, her body covered in wounds, her life hanging in the balance. Blood continued to gush from Qiqi's chest, her face a mask of despair, fear, helplessness, and indescribable sorrow.
Even Li Mingsheng, who considered himself well-informed and had many years of experience as a criminal police officer, was shocked and speechless at the scene.
"I really have no heart, I am the daughter of the devil!" Kiki screamed loudly, her hair disheveled, looking like a demon from hell.
Li Mingsheng was the first to realize what was happening. He quickly took out his phone to call the bureau to dispatch personnel and at the same time, he notified an ambulance to come quickly.
Xiao Jie felt herself trembling more and more violently. She seemed to hear faint howls coming from outside. Looking at the dark night outside, she couldn't help but wrap her clothes even tighter.
Qiqi coldly stared at the dumbfounded Lin Feng and Li Mingsheng, who was busy making a phone call while also looking at her.
After finishing the call, Li Mingsheng coughed and said, "Miss Qiqi, I'd like you to calm down." He realized his words were somewhat inadequate; even a professional assassin might struggle to cope with something like this, let alone a young woman. But he had to say something, so Li Mingsheng continued, "I don't think anyone wants this to happen. I hope you can cooperate with us."
Qiqi looked coldly at Li Mingsheng and interrupted him, saying, "Shut up! I'm not human anymore. I'm the daughter of the devil. If you don't want to die, get out of here!" Her eyes told Li Mingsheng that she wasn't lying; she would not hesitate to kill herself and Lin Feng.
Li Mingsheng pulled Lin Feng behind him. By this time, Lin Feng had also realized what was happening and turned his head away from Li Mingsheng, unable to bear the sight of the terrible scene in the bathroom.
Kiki's eyes had become completely devoid of emotion, and the blood covering her face and body made her look like a female ghost from a horror movie.
Li Mingsheng remained secretly vigilant, wary of her suddenly attacking. He had no confidence in dealing with someone who wouldn't die even after being stabbed through the heart and losing less than a fifth of their blood. He placed his hand on his waist, touching the gun handle; the cool sensation calmed him considerably.

A sinister smile crept across Qiqi's lips. Li Mingsheng swallowed hard and said, "No matter what happens, we can help you." He almost slapped himself in regret after saying that. How could he help her now that she was in this state? Was he supposed to rip his heart out and give it to her?
Kiki let out a pitiful laugh and said, "How can I help? How can you help? Who are you? How can you help me? How laughable!"
Li Mingsheng was sweating profusely with tension, watching Qiqi warily, barely daring to breathe. He already knew that the Qiqi now was not the same Qiqi as before; the current Qiqi was at best a living dead. As for the thoughts of a living dead, no one could fathom them.
Qiqi slowly stood up, and Li Mingsheng and Lin Feng couldn't help but take two steps back, watching Qiqi nervously.
Qiqi sneered and lifted Xiaofa's body with one hand. With the other hand raised, a "thud" splattered blood all over Li Mingsheng and Lin Feng's faces and bodies. Xiaofa raised his head and screamed, then his head lolled to the side and fell silent. Qiqi's other hand passed through Xiaofa's back, emerging from his chest, the flesh in his hand still twitching. Blood, along with bits of flesh and exposed veins, dripped from his hand onto the ground with a "plop, plop" sound.
The house became very quiet for a moment, with only Li Mingsheng and Lin Feng's heavy breathing and that terrifying "thud" sound.
Qiqi pulled her hand out of Xiaofa's body and said, "See? This is what I need. Can any of you give it to me?" With that, she placed the heart she had forcibly pulled from Xiaofa's body into her own chest cavity. With a final, almost human gaze, she swept over Lin Feng and Li Mingsheng, then slowly tucked Xiaofa's corpse under her arm. Blood from Xiaofa's chest flowed onto the ground, greedily swallowed by the drainpipes in the underground sewer system.
Li Mingsheng drew his gun, released the safety, and said to Qiqi, "Calm down." Heaven knows if she will calm down, because she is no longer a person within the realm of human cognition.
Qiqi's cold face was covered in blood, and she couldn't see any expression.
Suddenly, she moved abruptly, and before Li Mingsheng could even react, Qiqi had already passed by them like a ghost. Immediately afterward, there was a loud crash of shattering glass, and Qiqi, carrying Xiaofa's corpse, burst out of the window at an unimaginable speed.
Only then did the two hear the sharp sirens of police cars and the alarm of ambulances downstairs. They quickly ran to the window and peered out through the broken glass.
The cold rain pattered on their faces, and both of them felt as if they had been transported to another world.
People from the police cars and ambulances below got out one after another. The police officers gathered together, and the doctors and nurses prepared stretchers to go up and rescue people.
The residents inside had already been awakened by the banging on the door by Lin Feng and Li Mingsheng, but they were too lazy to get up and just cursed under their blankets. Now, the deafening sirens of police sirens rang out again, and everyone woke up and peered out the windows, wondering what had happened.
Watching the busy police officers and doctors, Xiao Jie knew that Qi Qi's dream had finally come true, and she didn't know what to feel.
As everyone was busy, a sound of shattering glass rang out, and a figure descended from the sky, landing heavily on the roof of a Santana police car. With a deafening bang, the car's roof was dented, and the dark figure disappeared into the cold rain in a few leaps, leaving everyone stunned.
Li Mingsheng and Lin Feng went downstairs and walked in the rain. The police officer in charge ran over and said, "Captain Li, what was that thing that jumped down just now? It looked like a person."
With a bitter expression, Li Mingsheng said, "I hope she's still a human being. Take your men to cordon off the scene and call an ambulance back. Don't let those nurses go up there; they'll scare them!"
The officer in charge glanced at Li Mingsheng with a puzzled look, then agreed and turned to make arrangements for his men.
The two returned to the car, and Lin Feng tenderly put his arm around Xiao Jie Jie's shoulders, which were curled up in a ball.
Xiao Jie looked up, her eyes brimming with tears, and asked, "Did it really happen?"
Lin Feng sighed heavily, nodded, and said, "The one who jumped off the building just now was her!"
Xiao Jie buried her head in Lin Feng's arms and cried, sobbing, "She was my best friend, how could this happen?"
Lin Feng didn't know how to comfort Xiao Jie Jie, so he could only gently pat her shoulder.
Li Mingsheng took out a cigarette and handed one to Lin Feng, then lit one for himself. The car was filled with the smell of tobacco, and only Xiao Jie Jie's crying could be heard; no one spoke.
Li Mingsheng suddenly slammed his fist on the steering wheel and cursed, "Damn it!" to vent his fear and frustration.
