Mysteriöses Brennen - Kapitel 29
After knocking Kiki away, the Ghost King let out a arrogant laugh. He strode towards Kiki, grabbed her hair, and lifted her up forcefully. The Ghost King grinned maliciously, and with a "crack," another arm grew back from the arm that Kiki had severed. The Ghost King's newly grown hand immediately clenched into a fist and punched towards Kiki's abdomen.
Fists rained down on Qiqi's lower abdomen, the Ghost King beating her like a punching bag. Qiqi had no chance to fight back; it seemed she couldn't even lift her arms, letting the Ghost King's fists pound on her relentlessly. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, her eyes vacant and lifeless.
Seeing this, Lin Feng, emboldened by some unknown force, roared and leaped to his feet, charging forward. He tightly embraced the Ghost King, his arms gripping its neck, tightening his grip.
Lin Feng roared like a madman, "I'll strangle you!" Before he could finish speaking, the Ghost King threw Qi Qi aside, grabbed Lin Feng's arm, and pulled hard. Lin Feng, in pain, loosened his grip.
The Ghost King flung Lin Feng forward, grabbed him by the neck, and punched him in the stomach. Lin Feng didn't have Qi Qi's resilience. The punch caused Lin Feng to vomit blood, the pain quickly spreading throughout his body. Seeing Lin Feng's eyes roll back in agony, the Ghost King grinned maliciously and punched him in the stomach again. Lin Feng was no match for Qi Qi; with the Ghost King's strength, three punches would surely kill him.
Just as the second punch was about to land on Lin Feng's stomach, a hand suddenly reached out and grabbed Ghost King's hand. Ghost King tried to break free but couldn't. He glanced sideways and saw that it was Qi Qi, whom he had just beaten half to death.
The Ghost King grabbed Lin Feng and flung him toward the corridor window. Lin Feng flew through the glass as if riding on clouds and mist, heading outside.
The outside area had been sealed off by Director Liu and his men. It was already broad daylight, and Li Mingsheng had also arrived.
The group had been watching the doorway warily, while Li Mingsheng paced back and forth anxiously, his heart pounding with worry. Although he knew Qiqi was no ordinary person, the fact that she hadn't come out after so long was still causing him concern.
Suddenly the window shattered, and a figure flew out headfirst. Although it was just a fleeting glimpse, Li Mingsheng knew it was Lin Feng. If Lin Feng had fallen like that, he would have been in grave danger, at the very least suffering some kind of paralysis, which would have caused him a lot of trouble for the rest of his life.
Li Mingsheng reacted instinctively, running towards Lin Feng's landing spot. Then, he leaped into the air, trying to catch Lin Feng. Although he was fast, he was still a fraction too slow. Li Mingsheng's heart sank with Lin Feng's body as he thought to himself, "This is it, I'm done for. I was still a step too late."
But a figure moved with lightning speed, darting out of the window at a speed far exceeding the limits of human vision. Everyone only saw a blur before the figure suddenly appeared in front of them, steadily catching Lin Feng in its arms and gently placing it on the ground.
Li Mingsheng also fell heavily to the ground, getting covered in dust. When he got up, he saw that it was Qiqi who had caught Lin Feng. Qiqi's shoulder-length hair moved without any wind. Upon seeing Qiqi clearly, Director Liu, Fatty Li, and the others all gasped in surprise.
Her eyes were bloodshot, making it impossible to distinguish the pupils from the whites. Both eyes were a deep, bloodshot red, and a trace of blood clung to the corner of her mouth. After setting Lin Feng down, she stared fixedly at the hotel window, her entire body radiating a strange energy that crackled and popped in the air. Upon closer inspection, a pale blue halo could be seen surrounding her.
Suddenly, the hotel wall cracked, sending bricks and tiles flying. A person slowly emerged from within, as if the wall wasn't there at all. After stepping out, they stood ten meters away, staring intently at Qiqi, as if they wanted to devour her alive.
The person who came was none other than the Ghost King. After he threw Lin Feng out of the window, Qi Qi immediately rushed out to save Lin Feng.
Kiki's explosive energy and extraordinary speed far exceeded his expectations. He had thought that Kiki would be at least half dead after his merciless attack. He never expected that the hand that grabbed his arm just now was unusually strong, even stronger than his own.
Little did he know that Qiqi had been forcibly suppressing her power to hide the bloodthirsty nature within her demonic nature. Because Qiqi had always lived among humans, her suppression of her demonic nature was done intentionally or unintentionally, without her even realizing it. But now, on the verge of death, Qiqi instinctively released her energy completely. Yet, Qiqi still retained a shred of rationality, knowing the priorities, so she saved Lin Feng first. Otherwise, Qiqi might have already rushed forward to fight the Ghost King to the death.
Both of them exuded a chilling aura, causing everyone to involuntarily retreat.
Qiqi said coldly to Li Mingsheng, "Protect Lin Feng!"
Li Mingsheng quickly picked up Lin Feng, put him in the car, and then sent someone to take him to the hospital for treatment. Lin Feng was already unconscious, and blood was still flowing from the corner of his mouth, clearly indicating that his injuries were serious.
The Ghost King didn't care about Lin Feng's departure or stay, because Lin Feng was no match for him and could not cause him any harm.
He took a few steps forward and laughed loudly, "I didn't realize you were so capable! You're not human, are you!"
Qiqi ignored him and just stared at him with her bloodshot eyes.
Director Liu, who had already retreated to a distance, stared at everything in disbelief. After a long while, he said to Li Mingsheng, "Your municipal bureau has quite a few experts. Just who is that woman?"
Li Mingsheng smiled bitterly and said, "Would you believe me if I told you she didn't have a heart at all?"
"Ah!" Director Liu said, "You're not joking, are you?"
The other officers, who had never witnessed such a scene before, were completely stunned, with the more timid ones trembling. They knew that the two men in front of them were far beyond the capabilities of their guns. Raised with a materialistic upbringing, how could they believe what they were seeing? But reason told them this wasn't a dream.

Li Mingsheng rolled his eyes, giving a "believe it or not" look, and said, "Whether it's true or not, you'll see for yourself. I hope you don't have a heart attack!"
Fatty Li swallowed hard and said stiffly, "Is it really that exaggerated? It looks like a Hollywood blockbuster to me!"
Li Mingsheng was taken aback, then said to Fatty Li, "Notify the armed police on the outer perimeter cordon that if anyone asks, just say that a movie is being filmed here!"
Fatty Li immediately scurried away like a rabbit. He couldn't wait to leave. The Ghost King's chilling aura and Qiqi's abyss-like red eyes had long terrified him. But with his superiors in front of him, how could he desert? Now he finally had a legitimate reason to leave.
The battle between Qiqi and the Ghost King finally erupted. The two figures converged like two gusts of wind, instantly transforming into a whirlwind. It was impossible to distinguish who was who. Li Mingsheng only watched for a short while before feeling dizzy and lightheaded. The two were moving so fast that those watching their fight almost had their eyes pop out of their sockets, yet they still couldn't make out who was who.
While watching, Li Mingsheng suddenly felt a warm splash on his face. He reached up and touched it; his hand was red. He didn't know which of the two was injured, and blood had splattered onto his face.
He quickly tried to observe, but their movements were too fast for him to see clearly. If the Ghost King was injured, that would be ideal, but if Qiqi was hurt, he dared not imagine the consequences. Was there anyone in this town, or city, or even in this world, who could rival the Ghost King?
His hands were sweaty with nervousness, and the gun he gripped was soaked. Although he knew the gun was unlikely to be of much use to that freakish ghost king, having a gun in hand still calmed him down considerably.
More and more drops of blood splattered, covering the faces and bodies of those around them. Everyone retreated further and further away; no one had any interest in bathing in blood.
A shadow finally slowed down, and Li Mingsheng could barely make out that it was the Ghost King. The Ghost King was covered in wounds of all sizes, blood flowing from them. Qiqi's speed remained undiminished, her attacks still extremely fierce. However, Li Mingsheng couldn't discern what method she was using to attack.
The Ghost King roared repeatedly, but he was completely helpless against Qi Qi in her berserk state. Suddenly, the Ghost King let out a miserable howl, clutching his neck and staggering back a few steps, his eyes gleaming with malice.
At this moment, Qiqi stopped, her face and body covered in blood splattered from the Ghost King. A large piece of flesh was still in her mouth, dripping blood. Qiqi spat the piece of flesh onto the ground with a "pui" sound; it was the flesh she had just bitten off the Ghost King's neck.
The Ghost King, watching Qiqi approach, retreated in despair. He had tried to escape when he was at a disadvantage, but was horrified to find himself trapped inside, unable to leave. Only then did he realize that Lin Feng's "Soul-Suppressing Talisman" wasn't entirely useless. The talisman sealed his seven orifices, preventing him from leaving his body. If this body were destroyed, he too would be annihilated. What terrified him even more was that due to the excessive use of Yin energy, his injuries were completely irreparable, and his body could no longer repair itself.
Qiqi suddenly pounced on him, and the Ghost King, enduring his injuries, crossed his arms to meet her.
Qiqi's arms and the Ghost King's arms immediately became entangled. Qiqi smiled and exerted force with her arms. With two "crack" sounds, the Ghost King's arms were broken.
Before the Ghost King could react, Qiqi had already pinned him to the ground. With a swift bite, her white teeth were already locked on his neck. Unable to move his arms, the Ghost King could only let out weak groans. His body convulsed uncontrollably, and his face rapidly turned ashen.
Qiqi was sucking his blood in large gulps, with blood foam dripping from her mouth that she couldn't swallow in time.
Li Mingsheng, Director Liu, and their men were completely dumbfounded, like dazed birds. This sight almost made them forget their fear; their minds were blank, their eyes filled only with the image of Qiqi sucking blood.
The Ghost King finally stopped moving. Qiqi stood up, wiping the blood from her mouth, looking like a demon from hell. Several policemen reflexively raised their guns, ready to fire. Li Mingsheng quickly stopped them; he absolutely couldn't provoke Qiqi now, the consequences of which he dared not imagine.
The Ghost King, who had been lying on the ground, suddenly sprang up and unleashed a full-force attack on the unsuspecting Qi Qi, gathering his last bit of Yin energy. The completely unprepared Qi Qi was immediately sent flying, while the Ghost King collapsed to the ground, his body rapidly withering until he became a dried-up corpse.
Qiqi was also seriously injured by the blow. Lying on the ground, the redness in her eyes quickly faded. She was completely weak, and her face had turned pale. Li Mingsheng supported Qiqi, who murmured, "Have someone burn the body."
The ambulance, which had been waiting outside, had already arrived. Li Mingsheng thought Qiqi needed a blood transfusion and shouted, "Doctor, come quickly for a blood transfusion!"
Qiqi shook her head and said, "No, no," then bit Li Mingsheng's arm and sucked his blood in large gulps.
Director Liu, standing nearby, exclaimed in alarm and tried to pull Qiqi away. Li Mingsheng said, "Wait, let her inhale, or she might die!"
Director Liu asked, "And you?"
Li Mingsheng said, "I'm fine. Where's the doctor?"
The doctor has arrived, but he was so frightened by Qiqi that he was at a loss and didn't know what to do.
Li Mingsheng shouted, "Bring me the blood bags! Do you want to see me sucked dry like a corpse too?"
The doctors then came to their senses and quickly brought over blood bags. Li Mingsheng poured the blood from the bag towards Qiqi's mouth. Qiqi was already in a semi-conscious state, and feeling a large amount of blood flowing into her mouth, she naturally released her mouth, bit down on the blood bag, and began to suck. After sucking out a 200cc bag of blood, she had completely lost consciousness.

When Qiqi woke up, her head was still throbbing. She touched her aching head and tried to move, but her arm swung, knocking over a metal cup on a cabinet next to the bed. The cup fell to the floor with a clatter, followed by a cry of "Ah!" and then Li Mingsheng's joyful voice: "Ah? Qiqi, you're awake! That's great!"
Qiqi then saw that Li Mingsheng, with his sleepy eyes still half open, was sitting on a stool next to her.
Qiqi smiled slightly and said, "How long have I been lying here?"
Li Mingsheng said, "Seven days."
"So long?" Qiqi seemed a little surprised. "Is Lin Feng alright?"
“He’s tough, he’ll be fine! Can you get down and walk around? I can take you to see him!” Li Mingsheng said to Qiqi with concern.
“Okay!” Kiki nodded.
Li Mingsheng helped Qiqi to Lin Feng's hospital room. Lin Feng was completely wrapped in bandages and had a cast on his body, looking exactly like a mummy from "The Mummy." Someone was feeding him soup spoonful by spoonful, and the boy seemed to be enjoying it. The person feeding him the soup was none other than Xiao Jiejie.
Upon seeing the two enter, Lin Feng exclaimed in surprise, "Qiqi! You're awake?"
Xiao Jiejie immediately turned around and saw that it was indeed Li Mingsheng supporting Qiqi standing there. Although Qiqi's complexion was still a little yellowish, she seemed to be much better and looked much healthier. Xiao Jiejie's eyebrows lit up with joy, and she carefully helped Qiqi up, saying, "You're finally awake! I was so worried!"
Kiki said in disbelief, "Is it really that exaggerated? I was bedridden for seven days, did you even come to see me? Maybe you were with your sweetheart the whole time!"
Qiqi said with a grin, "Of course I went to see you, but I couldn't really help much because there's someone by your side who's always with you!" As she spoke, she glanced at Li Mingsheng.
Li Mingsheng blushed, not daring to look at the two of them. He pretended to be concerned about Lin Feng and sat down in front of Lin Feng, saying, "Dude? How are you feeling?"
Lin Feng said in a strange voice, "Oh, so you're concerned about me now? I've been pretending to be a mummy here for so long, how many times have you come to see me?"
Kiki, unaware of what was going on, asked, "What are you guys doing?"
Li Mingsheng changed the subject, saying, "After you fainted that day, we took you to the hospital, and after you stabilized, we brought you back to the city."
Lin Feng said, "Actually, we were worried that the town's medical equipment wasn't enough, and we were afraid that someone wouldn't wake up, so we sent him back. If it were just me, I guess...hehe."
Seeing the murderous glare in Li Mingsheng's eyes, Lin Feng chuckled dryly and didn't continue speaking.
Xiao Jie suddenly remembered and said, "Qiqi, you've been lying down for so many days, you must be hungry! I brought some chicken porridge, have some!"
Qiqi shook her head, glanced at the three of them, and hesitated without saying a word.
Seeing Qiqi's hesitant expression, Xiaojie asked curiously, "What's wrong? Qiqi, we're all family here, just say what you want to say!"
Qiqi glanced at the group again; indeed, these were probably the closest people to her in the world right now. She bit her lip and said, "I...I want to drink blood." After saying that, she lowered her head, not daring to look at the three of them.
Lin Feng and Xiao Jie exchanged a glance, while Li Mingsheng didn't seem too surprised. Qi Qi said, "I'm sorry, I know I scared you, but I couldn't control myself. Last time when we defeated the Ghost King, I really wanted to drink blood, just like that time!"
Lin Feng knew she was referring to the time she killed Xiao Fa, and then said, "Qiqi, we all understand your predicament. You've suppressed your bloodlust for so long, which is truly remarkable."
Kiki whispered, "You don't think I'm a monster, do you?"
The three of them shook their heads in unison and said, "No way!"
Little Jie put her arm around Qiqi's shoulder and said, "You'll always be my best sister. You just want to drink blood, right? Come and drink mine!" As she spoke, she stretched out her white little hand.
With tears in her eyes, Qiqi hit Xiaojie and said, "I'm not a vampire, but the craving for blood seems to be an instinctive desire of mine. I can drink the blood from the blood bag, it doesn't necessarily have to be hot blood!"
Xiao Jie patted Qi Qi and said, "Don't worry!" Then she said to Li Mingsheng, "Brother Li."
Seeing Xiao Jie's sly smile, Li Mingsheng knew this heavy burden had fallen on his shoulders again. He surrendered, saying, "Okay, okay, I'll think of something." Finally, he said to Qiqi, "I think you'd better control your bloodlust as soon as possible, otherwise..."
Before he could finish speaking, he saw Xiao Jie Jie stick out her fist behind Qi Qi, her face full of gritted teeth, and she quickly ran away.
After Li Mingsheng left, Xiao Jiejie said, "Seriously, do you have any way to deal with this bloodthirsty nature?"
Kiki said, "Only when I drink blood can I feel my heart beating in my chest, and only then can I feel that I exist as a human being just like you, instead of a monster that everyone fears." As she spoke, Kiki lowered her head sadly.
Xiao Jie comforted Qi Qi, saying, "What? No matter what you're like, we'll always consider you a friend! Besides, I think someone has a lot of feelings for you!"
Lin Feng said with dissatisfaction, "Jie Jie, what nonsense are you talking about?"
Xiao Jie pouted and said, "What? Am I wrong?"
Lin Feng said seriously, "It's not just affection, it's absolute infatuation!"
"Ha!" Xiao Jiejie laughed out loud.
Qiqi knew they were talking about Li Mingsheng, and with a sorrowful smile, she said, "Looking like this, I don't deserve anyone's love, and I don't have the right to be in a relationship. Xiaofa is one of them."
Xiao Jie interrupted Qi Qi, saying, "That's all in the past. Once you're both discharged from the hospital, we'll all work together to see if there's any way to help you get back to normal."
Xiao Jiejie's words were just meant to comfort Qiqi, but they reminded Lin Feng, who said, "Yes, yes, let's go to the library and check. It seems there's a book that records this. I saw it when I was little. I think we'll definitely find a way!" Although he had seen it, so many years had passed, and whether he could find the book was uncertain. But it was still a glimmer of hope.
