Chapter 123

Some instigators stirred up trouble, and the gathered slaves began to riot, attempting to break through the Unsullied's defenses.

The Unsullied are ruthless; when slaves display aggression, they show no mercy.

Raising their spears and shields, the Unsullied killed the slaves who tried to break through the lines.

"Murder! Murder!"

The slaves at the front screamed in terror and tried to back away, but there were too many people behind them, and they could not retreat at all. They could only be pushed forward.

To their horror, the Unsullied's spear pierced their chests.

In just a few minutes, hundreds of corpses piled up in front of the Immaculate One.

The slaves, who had endured their fate for years, were now filled with fear. They began to retreat and ceased their assault on the defenses built by the Unsullied.

"Everyone has seen it, our brothers and sisters are being slaughtered. We must resist, otherwise..."

Before the man could finish speaking, Hao Yun descended from the sky and chopped off his head with a single stroke.

Blood shot into the sky, and the surrounding slaves were so frightened that they retreated one after another.

"Hello everyone, I am the Lord of Dragon City and the new master of Meereen."

Hao Yun casually tossed the severed head onto the high platform and revealed a gentle smile.

The gathered slaves were clearly still reeling from the earlier incident, and every one of them looked at Hao Yun with distrust and suspicion.

"Wang Shouren, come here and read out what crimes the people who were executed committed yesterday."

After Hao Yun finished speaking, he turned his attention to the troublemakers in the crowd.

These people are the sons of harpies, the followers of slave owners, and also a knife in their hands.

While Wang Shouren was reading out the crimes, the group of people who had killed the slaves were still trying to incite them to rise up in rebellion.

"Go, arrest those men."

The moonlight streamed down from the high platform, heading straight for the troublemakers.

When these people realized something was wrong, they turned around and tried to run away, but two legs can never outrun four.

Moonlight is very clever. When it catches someone, it bites off their leg and then goes after another person.

The slaves quickly made way for Moonlight, for Moonlight was a giant beast that anyone would be afraid of.

Having perfectly completed its mission, Moonlight carried the person up to the high platform and squatted down next to Hao Yun.

"Quiet!"

Hao Yun raised his hands and pressed them down, then walked to the front and began to speak.

“Those who are executed deserve it. No one can violate the laws of Dragon City. If anyone breaks the law, even if it is me, I will deal with it according to the law.”

“Some of you should recognize these people in front of me. They are the sons of the harpy. They were the ones who incited you to cause trouble in the crowd just now.”

"These people are the henchmen of slave owners. They want to use you to restore the rule of slavery. Do you agree?"

The crowd was quiet, and no one responded to Hao Yun. Hao Yun smiled. It seemed that the transformation of Meereen would still take some time.

"Everyone, don't panic! Slavery in Meereen will be completely abolished starting today!"

"Really?"

"It should be true."

The slaves whispered among themselves. Then, someone shouted "Long live the city lord!" The cheers started to spread and eventually the whole of Meereen was cheering.

The matter was resolved smoothly, and Hao Yun rode the moonlight into the sky, returning to the tower amidst the kneeling worship of the slaves.

For a period of time afterward, Dragon City dispatched numerous junior management personnel to the Abyss and Meereen.

The two cities were back on track in terms of security, and the cities began to recover. The slaves were also given jobs.

After nearly a year, Slave Bay was finally under Hao Yun's control. As for the small cities around Slave Bay, Hao Yun was too lazy to fight them because they were too troublesome.

Even if we manage to take it down, we'll need to send people to manage it. Right now, Hao Yun doesn't have enough people at all. Even if we do take it, we'll have to wait another year.

After spending a few days in Meereen, Hao Yun returned to Dragon City alone, preparing to give Dragon Mother a surprise.

Upon entering the palace and arriving at Daenerys's room, Hao Yun stealthily crept up behind her.

"What are you doing!"

He hugged Dragon Mom from behind, startling her so much that she trembled all over. Only when she saw that it was Hao Yun did she relax.

"How come you're back from Meereen? Have you finished taking care of everything?"

Hao Yun sat down in a chair with Dragon Mom in his arms and shrugged.

"Bell is handling things for me, and you're dealing with Dragon City's government affairs?"

Hao Yun casually glanced at the documents on the table and pinched Daenerys's cheek.

"Well, Bell isn't here. I've been dealing with some documents. Oh, by the way, someone came to join us a couple of days ago; they came from King's Landing."

Chapter 169 Little Devil

Those who came to seek refuge were none other than Imp and Varys, the chief intelligence officer.

Upon learning of the return of the Lord of Dragon City, the two immediately came to pay their respects.

"Lord City Lord."

The two bowed in greeting, while Hao Yun, sitting in a chair, glanced at them.

To be honest, Hao Yun didn't think much of either of them.

Varys, the chief of intelligence, was nothing more than an intelligence merchant, not a good subject at all.

As for the little devil, although he is clever, he is too prone to making mistakes.

"Yes, get up, everyone."

Hao Yun stood up, walked up to Varys, and patted him heavily on the shoulder.

"Now that you've come to my Dragon City, you must abide by the rules of my Dragon City. If you make a mistake, no matter who it is, you will be punished."

Varys smiled, bent down, and nodded in agreement; what he was really thinking, no one knew.

The little devil remained calm, standing still with eyes as still as a stagnant pool.

The betrayal of his beloved and the killing of his own father were all devastating blows to him.

"You did a good job as Hand of the King in King's Landing. Although I don't have the position of Hand of the King here, I'm short of an administrator. Are you interested?"

Hao Yun smiled and looked at the Little Devil, wanting to see if the Little Devil would take on this position.

Currently, there is only one administrative officer, Bell. He is the administrative officer of Dragon City, while no one is in charge of Abyss and Meereen. Bell is handling both of these duties concurrently.

"Lord of the city, I am but a drunkard, and I am certainly incapable of managing the city for you."

The little devil refused Hao Yun's request. All he wanted to do right now was drink and live a life of debauchery; he didn't want to think about anything else.

"Really? Even an alcoholic should have a job, otherwise where would he get the money to buy alcohol? We don't offer credit services in Dragon City."

Varys gave Imp a quick kick to make him agree.

"Alright, if I haven't done well enough, I hope the city lord will forgive me."

The little devil glanced at Hao Yun, then turned his gaze to the red wine on the table.

"Help yourself if you want a drink, as long as it doesn't interfere with your work."

Hao Yun didn't care what his subordinates did on a daily basis, as long as they could complete the tasks he assigned.

The little devil swallowed hard and poured himself a large glass of wine.

Thumbs up!

After drinking the red wine, the little devil's cheeks turned rosy, and he regained some of his vitality.

"Lord City Lord."

An Immaculate One walked in from outside the door, bowed respectfully to Hao Yun, and said in a low voice.

"Among the prisoners of the Golden Regiment who were brought back a few days ago, one of them is insisting on seeing the lord. Should we bring him up?"

Reminded by the Immaculate One, Hao Yun remembered the Golden Legion he had captured some time ago.

Hao Yun happened to have some free time and nothing else to do, so he waved his hand to indicate that he was okay with it.

The Immaculate One left the room, and soon a ragged man with an unpleasant odor was brought in.

"Greetings, Lord of Dragon City. This is West Blackfire, Commander of the Golden Company, paying his respects."

Even after being captured and imprisoned, this mercenary with noble blood maintained his good manners.

"Yes, I heard you want to see me. If you have anything to say, hurry up and say it."

Hao Yun had his legs propped up on the table, and Daenerys Targaryen was peeling grapes for him beside him.

Faced with such rude behavior, West was not angry; instead, he smiled and replied.

"My lord, I request to redeem myself with money, and I am willing to lead the entire Golden Legion to join Dragon City and become your vassals."

Hao Yun didn't answer immediately because he was enjoying the grapes that Dani was feeding him.

"Ahem, now that I've become your affairs officer, I think I should have the right to participate in this matter, right?"

The little devil, holding a wine glass, walked to the opposite side of Hao Yun.

"Of course, what are your thoughts?"

Varys, the chief intelligence officer, stood silently in place, as if he were invisible, without saying a word.

He and the little devil originally came to try and get a position, but he didn't expect that Hao Yun would completely ignore him.

"I wouldn't call it a brilliant insight; I've only heard that the Golden Company is ranked number one among mercenary groups."

West straightened his chest, and his eyes changed when he looked at Tyrion. He had finally found someone who knew his stuff.

"Number one?"

Hao Yun put down his crossed legs, hugged Dani in his arms, and looked at West with a smile.
