Chapter 163

After a discussion lasting more than ten minutes, Su Ying went to rest aside.

A member of the group handed her water, but Zhao Xiyin unscrewed the cap, then screwed it back on, and took another bottle to give to Su Ying.

"Teacher Su, please have some." She said humbly.

Su Ying glanced at her, then at the water in her hand, and took it anyway, saying, "Thank you."

There was a second rehearsal later, so Zhao Xiyin went to the restroom and happened to run into Dai Yunxin. Zhao Xiyin greeted her respectfully, "Master."

Dai Yunxin hummed in agreement. "Jump well."

Zhao Xiyin pursed her lips and asked softly, "Master, what do you think of my performance just now?"

Dai Yunxin smiled and said, "That's great. Su Ying is very charismatic and brought you out of the woodwork too. You two acted out the teacher-student relationship just like in the script."

"Oh." Zhao Xiyin touched the tip of her nose and smiled, clearly happy.

Dai Yunxin smiled and gently patted her shoulder, "Xiao west, you did a great job."

Zhao Xiyin felt as sweet as if she had been given honey; all her previous grudges and worries vanished in an instant. She even blamed herself a little for not considering things from her master's perspective; she was truly immature.

During the second rehearsal, everyone proceeded as planned. Everything was fine at first, but after a minute, Zhao Xiyin was the first to notice something was wrong. She was standing closest to Su Ying and could clearly sense Su Ying's unusual behavior.

She swayed during her spin, even stepping on Zhao Xiyin. The two collided, lost their balance, and fell to the ground together.

In an instant, chaos erupted. Everyone was shocked and rushed to help. Meng Weixi was some distance away, and when he entered, Su Ying and Zhao Xiyin had already been helped up.

"How is it?" he asked anxiously, his gaze falling on Zhao Xiyin.

Zhang Yijie subtly tugged at his sleeve, and Meng Weixi turned to the side. "Teacher Su, are you alright?"

Su Ying didn't speak, but a noticeable red rash appeared on her neck. Her assistant was extremely anxious, "Teacher Su is having an allergic reaction! She only drank that bottle of water!"

Mango-flavored soda water.

Su Ying is severely allergic to mangoes; she can react immediately to the smell, and the red rashes on her body won't go away for three to five days.

Everyone looked at Zhao Xiyin; she was the one who handed over the bottle of water.

Zhao Xiyin was at a loss, having no idea what was going on.

Meng Weixi quietly took a step closer to her, about to speak, when Su Ying frowned and said impatiently, "I drank the water myself, it has nothing to do with her." Then she instructed her assistant, "Contact Dr. Zhang and go to the hospital."

A large group of people left, surrounded by their entourage.

The remaining hundred or so dancers looked at each other, then secretly glanced at Zhao Xiyin.

Doubt, disdain, sharpness, speculation...

Like a target of public criticism, even in the dead of winter, her back was soaked with a thin layer of sweat.

As Su Ying was a main actress, Meng Weixi naturally had to visit her to offer his condolences. He and Zhang Yijie had just gotten into the car when Zhao Xiyin ran after them, panting as she called out, "Meng Weixi."

Meng Weixi immediately ordered the driver to stop the car.

He pushed open the car door, ignoring the phone that slipped from his fingers. Zhao Xiyin ran up to him, her face pale, and asked, "Last time I went to the Performing Arts Center to see Teacher Su, I brought her a basket of mangoes. After that, Teacher Su delayed joining the crew by a week. Was it because of me...?"

Before the question was even finished, Zhao Xiyin knew the answer from Meng Weixi's eyes.

She lowered her head, her emotions a mix of feelings.

Meng Weixi comforted her, "You don't need to blame yourself. After all, you didn't do it on purpose. Speaking of which, it's also Zhang Yijie's fault. He didn't remind you properly."

Zhao Xiyin shook her head. "It's my own fault for not being attentive enough."

Su Ying is a big name, not an ordinary person. Being in the same dance world, there are certain things one must know. Zhao Xiyin said, "I always thought Teacher Su didn't like me very much, but how can I blame others? It was simply that I didn't do well."

Meng Weixi remained noncommittal.

By the time Su Ying finished her rounds, it was already dark at five o'clock. The entire ward was guarded by bodyguards, and the medical staff discussed how Su Ying certainly had a grand entourage. She was even more captivating in person than on screen.

When Meng Weixi arrived, Su Ying had just finished having her blood drawn and was receiving an IV drip. She put her phone on speakerphone with one hand, her tone displeased, "Could you please not arrange so many bodyguards? Isn't it excessive? You don't need to come back. You stay in the US for your meeting. I just have an allergic reaction."

It's obvious without even asking that she was chatting with her mysterious husband who's not in the entertainment industry.

Su Ying put away her phone and nodded to Meng Weixi, "President Meng, thank you for your trouble."

Meng Weixi pulled up a chair, sat down very gentlemanly, and asked with a gentle smile, "Is Sister Ying feeling any better?"

"That's fine then."

Su Ying had developed red rashes on her face, neck, and arms. Her hair was loose, and her unkempt appearance didn't seem out of place on her. She said, "Due to my constitution, even with injections and hospitalization, it will take about a week for the rash to completely subside. Mr. Meng, I'm sorry for the delay in rehearsals."

Meng Weixi said, "Health is important."

Su Ying stopped talking and quietly looked at him. She knew that he still had something to say. Sure enough, when he spoke again, Meng Weixi said, "Sister Ying's two hospitalizations were both related to Xiao Zhao. She is a good girl, very kind. She may not understand social etiquette sometimes, but she has no bad intentions. Don't worry about it. She is still young, take her time."

Su Ying hummed in agreement. President Meng personally acting as an intermediary meant she had a lot of influence.

Meng Weixi smiled and said, "She's an old acquaintance of mine, because I know her."

Su Ying didn't react much. Leaning against the pillow, she said leisurely, "What are you still standing at the door for? Come in."

Meng Weixi was taken aback. When the door opened, Zhao Xiyin stood there with her head down, looking dejected. She apologized softly, "I'm sorry, Teacher Su."

Su Ying was sharp-witted and perceptive; as soon as Meng Weixi mentioned Zhao Xiyin, she knew she must have come too. It was truly kind of Meng Weixi to be willing to accompany a girl on stage.

Afterwards, Meng Weixi made an excuse to leave the ward, leaving the two of them alone.
