Your Majesty - Chapter 75

Chapter 75

The riots in the Lonely Palace had been suppressed by He Shaoxin half a month ago. The Sixth and Seventh Palaces had new palace masters, while the Palace Master of the Eighth Palace was sent to a holy land to heal his wounds. Nan Yi was controlled by He Shaoxin with special drugs and remained in a coma. No one knew that he was the blood-sucking monster in the Chaos Prison.

Pang Wan had a well-thought-out plan regarding descending the mountain. On one hand, she wanted to take the opportunity to find members of the Demonic Sect to help her send Nan Yi back for treatment; on the other hand, she planned to go to Linyi alone to find Sang Chan and find out the truth behind Mei Wu's death.

Those seemingly unrelated people and events are actually intricately connected in private. She felt that if she didn't find out soon, she would be trapped in a huge cocoon and unable to move forward.

However, He Qinglu didn't seem very enthusiastic about her going down the mountain. Every time she asked him about it, he would make excuses, and finally he simply interrupted her request out of impatience.

Unbeknownst to her, He Qinglu had her own thoughts on the matter.

Having lived for twenty years, this was the first time that Young Master He had allowed such an extraordinary being as a "lover" to appear in his life. For him, this was undoubtedly the beginning of a new life.

Pang Wan was clever and obedient, never expressing dissatisfaction with his research. On the contrary, she was quite supportive of his inventions, helping him experiment with mechanisms every day and diligently recording his findings. Pang Wan could mostly understand what he said, and sometimes she would even offer him suggestions for improvement (although most of them were terrible).

As Jin Diluo said, she was like a gentle, understanding flower.

This understanding flower is not only gentle and intelligent, but also sweet and soft, and exceptionally delicious. He can hold her little hand, touch her forehead, and smell the faint fruity fragrance on her body. Under special circumstances (in front of his second uncle), he can even wrap his arms around her slender and round waist and feel her trembling slightly under his chest.

He Qinglu was content with his life and wasn't in a hurry to change it—he had already gotten used to having Pang Wan by his side day and night.

Unfortunately, the inexperienced clown flower didn't think that way. On the surface, she was obedient, but in reality, she was secretly rubbing her paws, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

For example, she thinks about going down the mountain all day long, she's so distracted, she's practically going crazy.

This realization made He Qinglu very unhappy. He felt that his family life principle of "a wife should put her husband first" was being challenged, so he repeatedly refused Pang Wan's request.

—If I'm not feeling well, you won't feel any better either.

He did it on purpose.

With winter fast approaching and heavy snow looming ahead, Pang Wan finally reached his breaking point.

"Young master, what do I have to do to get my senior brother and me to leave the mountain?"

She swallowed all her anger and tried to speak in a calm tone.

He Qinglu was drawing when she heard the question. She blinked her eyelashes, and her amber eyes silently glanced at her.

"Thank you for saving me at the crucial moment, young master. But as you probably know, my senior brother and I can't stay in this lonely palace forever; we'll have to return to the sect sooner or later." Pang Wan took a deep breath, her eyes misty as she looked at him pitifully.

Based on her observations over the past few days, she concluded that He Qinglu was someone who responded better to gentleness than force, and that she needed to play the victim when necessary.

However, this sentence displeased He Qinglu—what did she mean by "I can't stay in the lonely palace forever"? Did she think that after becoming his wife, this girl would want to run around everywhere?

So he kept a cold face and didn't answer.

"Just tell me what you want," Pang Wan said anxiously, looking at him earnestly. "Don't you like the rare things I have on me? I promise you, when we get back I'll find you a one-of-a-kind treasure!"

He Qinglu was taken aback.

Yes, he had almost forgotten that his initial interest in this little girl stemmed entirely from her hidden weapon. When exactly did her personal influence begin to overshadow her weapon?

He couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

"Young master? Have you agreed?" Pang Wan asked tremblingly, thinking that if she still couldn't get what she wanted this time, she would take the risk of carrying the Southern Barbarians on her back and escaping—although it would be very difficult, she had to try this last resort.

He Qinglu pondered for a moment, then put down the ruler in his hand.

"Go and say hello to Second Uncle. We'll set off in three days," he instructed, lowering his gaze.

Pang Wan was overjoyed and immediately jumped up: "Really? That's wonderful!" She rushed over and hugged his shoulders, her little face flushed with excitement, "Young Master, how can you be so good to me? I like you so much!"

He Qinglu raised her chin and gave a disdainful snort through her nose.

He thought to himself, "Does this even need to be said? You've always admired me so much!"

Pang Wan couldn't help but chuckle as she looked at He Qinglu's arrogant, upturned-nosed demeanor.

She knew he was happy, because a blush had appeared on his fair neck and the corners of his mouth were slightly upturned.

—It seems even the young master has his adorable moments, she thought to herself.

However, Pang Wan soon found He Qinglu unlovable, as he began ordering his maids to pack his luggage.

"Are you going down the mountain too?" She tried to think positively. "Is it for an inspection trip?"

“No.” He Qinglu slowly put away the blueprints.

"Are you going to buy materials?"

"no."

"Could it be that you're heading to the capital?"

No, not exactly.

"Oh, I see, you're going to find Granny Jin!" Pang Wan suddenly realized.

He Qinglu frowned and looked at her coldly.

"Who said they were going to Linyi?" He looked slightly impatient. "Have you forgotten what you said so quickly?"

Pang Wan was shocked—it turned out that this arrogant young master really wanted to come down the mountain with her!

"Actually..." He was about to refuse when He Qinglu said casually, "So what if you get to Linyi? The Ninth Prince won't see you, and Sang Chan won't see you either. If I weren't with you, what could you possibly find out?" He was quite pleased with himself as he placed the blueprints into the shelf in order.

Pang Wan was speechless, and all the excuses she had prepared vanished in an instant.

Before we knew it, the day of farewell arrived.
