A sharp squeaking sound from a mouse made Yaksha stop what he was doing, his angry eyes fixed on the golden mouse that had suddenly appeared on the table.
The golden rat stared at the hand that the Yaksha placed on Jin Pengkang's head. Its gleaming fingernails were only centimeters away from Jin Pengkang's head, and the gates of hell were already half open.
A hint of worry flashed in the golden rat's eyes, and a beam of golden light shot out, its target the yaksha in front of it.
Yaksha was already on guard against the sudden appearance of the golden rat. He turned to the side as the golden light rushed towards him, the light grazing his red fur skirt.
In an instant, the red fur skirt petrified at a speed visible to the naked eye. Yaksha was startled, a sense of crisis jolting him awake. So he quickly pulled off the red fur skirt and threw it away.
The red wool skirt, originally made of unknown hair, turned into stone in mid-air, finally crashing into the wall with a soft "bang," and falling to the ground, turning into a pile of stone chips.
The Flying Yaksha warily watched the golden mouse before it, slowly raising the iron fork in its hand, while golden iron chains floated around its body.
What are you?
The Yaksha spoke, its voice sharp and unpleasant, like a sharp knife scraping against glass, making a piercing sound that instantly irritated anyone who heard it.
"Squeak squeak squeak!"
Seeing that the Yaksha could not be turned back to its original form, the golden rat's small, elongated eyes flashed with anxiety, and it kept chirping at the Yaksha.
Yaksha didn't understand why the rat was there, but he felt an unprecedented threat from it, which made him cautious, fearing that he might be caught off guard.
Then, his gaze shifted and he saw Jin Pengkang lying on the table. He glanced at the little mouse protecting Jin Pengkang and immediately understood.
The Yaksha laughed, opening its mouth and curving its lips upwards, revealing all its white fangs. One could vaguely see a set of hard teeth, seemingly capable of splitting gold and jade.
"You want to protect the mortal behind you, right?"
Although Yaksha didn't understand why he was here, as a zombie who had just awakened, he desperately needed human flesh and blood to nourish himself. Although this golden rat was very threatening, it couldn't make him back down.
"Squeak squeak squeak!"
Seeing that the yaksha refused to back down, the rat roared in anger, and beams of golden light shot out from its eyes.
Although the light beams were incredibly fast and dense, Yaksha easily dodged them all. He leaped into the air, forcefully swinging his massive iron fork towards the sleeping Golden-Winged Roc Kangza.
Seeing that something was wrong, the golden rat focused its golden light on the iron fork, instantly petrifying it. But before it could even rejoice, the iron fork, still propelled by inertia, swiftly stabbed down towards it and Jin Pengkang.
Bang!
The petrified iron fork pierced through the table and plunged deep into the ground, with only half of its body protruding. Jin Pengkang was pushed aside by a tremendous force and fell to the side.
"What...what's going on?"
Jin Pengkang was still in shock when he was suddenly pushed to the ground. Before he could react, his table was smashed through by a stone fork, and flying stones and wood chips flew past his eyes.
Knock knock knock!
Before Jin Pengkang could think further, a pair of large blue feet appeared in his eyes with a loud thud. Looking up, he saw a blue-faced, fanged demon standing in front of him, its eyes greedy and evil, like a hunter who had caught its prey.
"Help!"
Jin Pengkang frantically cried for help, sitting on the ground and using his hands and feet to back away until he was pressed against a wall with no way to escape.
Jingle bells!
The yaksha's bluish-black face grinned, becoming increasingly ferocious. The golden iron chains on its body began to pulsate, striking each other to produce a melodious and pleasant sound.
Jin Pengkang clung helplessly to the wall, watching as the Yaksha approached him step by step, its massive figure blocking out the light and casting Jin Pengkang into its shadow.
"How could this be! Where did this guy come from?"
Jin Pengkang trembled like a sieve, his whole body was soaked in cold sweat, his lips began to dry, and an immense sense of fear gripped his heart like a giant hand, causing it to pound violently.
Jin Pengkang felt he had really had the worst luck. He shouldn't have been so foolish as to accept the black-robed man's commission. If he had, he wouldn't have fallen asleep here and wouldn't have encountered this monster that looked like a yaksha.
Wait! Yaksha!
Jin Pengkang seemed to realize something. He glanced at the spot where the statue had been, now empty except for a pile of wood chips. Then, looking at the yaksha gleaming with ferocity before him, he understood.
His statue came to life!
The fear in Jin Pengkang's eyes slowly dissipated, his pupils returned to normal size, his heartbeat returned to normal, and he stared at the yaksha in front of him with a fanatical gaze.
For someone dedicated to sculpting, nothing is more exciting than bringing their own statue to life.
He, Jin Pengkang, accomplished what countless predecessors had failed to do, bringing the statue back to life as if from a myth. What an honor, and what incredible luck!
If I hear the Way in the morning, I can die content in the evening!
Jin Pengkang stood up and tentatively took a small step towards Yaksha, carefully scanning every inch of Yaksha's skin as if on a pilgrimage, his gaze pure, his eyes filled only with his love for wood carving.
Yaksha's gaze sharpened. He felt a sense of disgust at the human's eyes, but seeing the golden rat standing at Jin Pengkang's feet with its fur standing on end and poised to attack, he did not make a move. Instead, he calmly looked at Jin Pengkang, who was scrutinizing him.
Suddenly, the Yaksha's large, protruding ears twitched, a faint sound reached his ears, and he smelled a fragrance. He glared at the golden rat, then turned and walked away...
