Chapter 82

The Yaksha stood still, holding a drained corpse in his hand. A satisfied look appeared on his ferocious face. His body grew stronger and stronger, becoming several sizes larger than before.

Swish! Swish!

The golden chains on the Yaksha's body danced in the air, and soon they bound all the people who had escaped earlier. The chains circled in the air a few times, then lashed out like whips, exploding in the air and striking the knees of these people.

As the sound of shattering echoed, the three people's wails reverberated through the quiet street. Most of the residents here had signed contracts and moved out of the area long ago, so even if their wails were loud, they could not disturb anyone else.

"Human blood is indeed the best food in the world, filled with emotions and desires, making me unable to extricate myself."

Yaksha licked his lips with his long, thin tongue, feeling the power of his blood flowing through his body. His crimson eyes looked at the other three people who had their legs broken and were lying on the ground screaming in pain. His huge feet stomped on the stone pavement with a dull thud, leaving shallow footprints.

"Let me go! I was just doing odd jobs for the boss. He did all the bad things. It has nothing to do with us!"

"I still have parents to support. I'll starve to death if they're gone. Please let me go."

"My daughter is only three years old. She can't live without her father. Please, for the sake of my poor daughter, spare me. Just eat both of them."

"You bastard, if anyone's going to be eaten, it should be you!"

As the Yaksha drew ever closer, the group pleaded and kowtowed, dragging their upper bodies and wrestling together, begging the Yaksha to devour the others and spare them.

Human nature is inherently evil!

Hearing their pleas for mercy and their desperate attacks on each other, the Yaksha wore an expression of enjoyment; human suffering and despair were his best spiritual nourishment.

However, this was not a reason for him to let these people go. He grabbed one of the people in the middle at random, not because he was the most delicious, but because he screamed the softest, which made Yasha quite unhappy.

"Let me go..."

He watched as the yaksha's fangs slowly approached him, desperately trying to pry open the yaksha's large hand that was gripping his clothes. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't budge a single finger of the yaksha, which was like an iron clamp that held him firmly in place.

"I don't want to die!"

Faced with the fear of death, his snot and tears mingled together and stuck to his face, making Yaksha feel a little disgusted. With a little force, Yaksha cleanly and neatly snapped his neck.

"Is this God's punishment for the bad things we've done?"

"I want to go home, I don't want to die here like this..."

The remaining two men had their legs broken and could only crawl desperately outwards using their hands, leaving a pool of blood on the ground that kept getting longer. But even with all their might, they could only crawl a few dozen meters, which was less than when they escaped on their own two legs.

At this rate, they will surely be caught by that strange chain again. Their future is now bleak, with no hope in sight.

After losing all hope of escape, the two stopped using their hands to drag themselves along the ground. They lay there quietly, their eyes vacant, becoming hopeless and numb, blankly awaiting death.

After snapping the man's neck, the Yaksha extended his index finger and used his nail to pierce the skin from under his chin. Then, he pinched the skin between his index finger and thumb and tore it off suddenly.

Hot, bright red blood splattered onto the Yaksha's face, and a piece of human skin was peeled off alive. Fortunately, the person was already dead; the immense pain of having his skin torn would have made him wish he were dead.

Yaksha crumpled the human skin into a ball and threw it on the head of one of the two crawling on the ground. Seeing how the human skin terrified them into despair, he lost interest.

A barbed tongue licked the exposed flesh of the face forcefully, drawing a large amount of blood and flesh onto the tongue before it was drawn into the demon's mouth and chewed meticulously. Judging from the smile on his face, one might mistake him for eating ice cream rather than a human stump.

Sizzle!

A scorching sound rang out, a flash of fire appeared, and a dragon-shaped flame burst forth from the darkness, converging on the Yaksha's chest and instantly igniting him, engulfing him in flames and burning him relentlessly.

"Aaaaaah! What is that thing? Show yourself!"

The yaksha writhed incessantly in the flames, but did not shake them off. This burning fire was no ordinary thing; it contained powerful magic that slowly scorched the yaksha's hard, iron-like blue skin, penetrating deeper into its layers.

The two men lying on the ground saw the Yaksha being set ablaze, and their eyes lit up with renewed hope. The flames dispelled their despair and gave them a chance to live.

"Yaksha, obediently turn into a statue. This world is not a place for you!"

Four figures in black robes emerged from the darkness, bathed in moonlight that made them appear as if draped in silver gauze, both sacred and solemn.

"You despicable attacker, how dare you use fire on a noble Yaksha! I will drain your blood, skin you to make my dress, and gnaw your bones to pieces, swallowing every last bit."

With a sudden stomp, the Yaksha unleashed a deafening bang, sending dust flying and creating a massive crater in the ground. The Yaksha's muscles tensed as golden chains lashed his body, extinguishing the flames. Then, the charred skin peeled off, and new skin grew back at a visible speed.

The Yaksha's eyes widened in fury. He had been ambushed by a human and nearly killed. This was a tremendous humiliation for him, and only by crushing this guy to pieces could he vent his anger.

Without saying a word, Lu Lei waved his sleeve, and three dragon-shaped flames crisscrossed and danced, extending their dragon claws to grab at the Yaksha.

"You ignorant brat!"

Yaksha gripped the iron chain tightly, a cold, evil power covering it. With a sudden flick, the chain, imbued with evil power, collided with the three intersecting fire dragons.

Bang!

The violent impact created a powerful gust of wind that swept outwards, shattering all the glass in the street.

Lu Lei was startled. Before he could react, an iron chain tore through the air and crashed down.

Seeing that something was wrong, Ku Ling immediately reached out and pulled Lu Lei to her side, thus avoiding a fatal attack.

clang!

The iron chain, like a long whip, suddenly lashed out three times, slamming hard onto the ground. Fine stone chips flew back, stirring up huge clouds of dust that obscured the view. When the dust settled, three huge cracks appeared in the ground.

"Little things, I'm going to smash you into mincemeat and then eat you piece by piece."

The Yaksha grew larger again, reaching about two and a half meters in height. Its strong muscles resembled the gnarled roots of an old tree, solid and powerful. It gripped the iron chains tightly with both hands, and the black evil power within its body covered the chains, turning the gold color black and making it appear evil and eerie.

The Yaksha swung the iron chain like a meteor hammer, repeatedly smashing it at Lu Lei and the others. The three who fell to the ground did not have time to escape and were struck by the iron chain, turning into a pile of minced meat.
