Capítulo 156

He shook his head vigorously, trying to shake off the near-factual image from his mind. Mo Mo was utterly bewildered. He didn't believe in any worldly trials whatsoever. As for cave dwellings, there were some comparable to Mount Luojia within the Three Realms, but weren't they all owned? What cave dwelling outside could possibly compare to Mount Luojia? Therefore, Mo Mo concluded that while the establishment of cave dwellings might be real, it wasn't for the so-called worldly trials. More likely, it was to establish a mountain stronghold. At this moment, Mo Mo began to mourn for Tang Sanzang and his companions on their future journey to the West. Those were people even Mo Mo found troublesome. However, the journey to the West was still far off, and the immediate priority was to take care of this now-barren peach grove.

Now, Mo Mo spends his days watering the peach orchard, pruning the branches and leaves, and occasionally going out for a stroll. His life is quite pleasant. However, during these leisurely days, a piece of news, neither big nor small, came from the Heavenly Court: General Curtain Roller was banished to the mortal world for accidentally breaking a glass lamp.

Chapter 484 On the Eve of the Journey to the West

The position of Curtain-Raising General in Heaven wasn't considered a high-ranking official post, but it was certain that those who held this position were all trusted confidants of the Jade Emperor. Therefore, this news caused quite a stir, but compared to the previous major events, it was insignificant and quickly subsided. As time passed, Heaven returned to its former peace and tranquility. Of course, occasional disturbances did occur. For example, the Third Prince of the West Sea Dragon King was about to get married, and the Jade Emperor had specially bestowed upon him a luminous pearl. However, shocking news soon followed: his fiancée was unfaithful and had an affair.

On his wedding night, the Third Prince discovered that his fiancée was having an affair with a demon. This devastated him, and he flew into a rage, setting fire to the pearl bestowed upon him by the Jade Emperor, thus ruining the marriage. However, his father, the Dragon King of the West Sea, reported this to the Heavenly Court, accusing him of disobedience. He was sentenced to beheading on the Dragon-Slaying Platform, but at the last moment, Guanyin Bodhisattva of the South Sea intervened and spared his life. He was eventually banished to Eagle's Sorrow Gorge on Snake Coil Mountain to await Tang Sanzang's journey to the West. Tang Sanzang had already been born into the mortal realm before Sun Wukong's havoc in the Heavenly Palace, and it was unknown how many lifetimes he had been reincarnated.

Time flies, and Mo Mo's peach grove has regained its former glory of blooming peach blossoms. The immortal wine and other delicacies that the little black dragon and her companions had plundered have gradually been replenished. Mo Mo attended another Peach Banquet, but the immortals and gods who came and went at that banquet were more reserved and serious. Moreover, the Heavenly Court was much quieter. This quietness did not mean that there were fewer immortals and gods in the Heavenly Court, but rather that the immortals and gods in the Heavenly Court had become somewhat taciturn, as if they had lost their vitality. This was perhaps a side effect, but as time goes by, this situation will surely soon be resolved.

Along the way, the little black dragon and her companions returned a few times, but each time they only stayed for a few days, then left again to collect some belongings. Mo Mo also went with them to see their cave dwelling. To Mo Mo's surprise, their cave dwelling was surprisingly nice. Although the spiritual energy was not as rich as that of Luojia Mountain, it was still a beautiful place with clear water and lush mountains. However, the only drawback was that it was too feminine. Mo Mo felt uncomfortable after staying there for two days and left. This was not because Mo Mo was being fussy, but because any real man would feel awkward staying in a pink, feminine place.

The reason why it is said that there is no time in cultivation is because each time a cultivator goes into seclusion, it takes a lot of time. Moreover, the higher the cultivation level, the longer the seclusion will last. As far as Mo Mo's cultivation level is concerned, if he really wanted to calm down and go into seclusion, it would take at least a thousand years. If he hadn't always been able to multitask and use most of his mind to maintain the deduction of various moves and cultivation, he probably wouldn't know how many times he would have gone into seclusion. However, just because he doesn't need to go into seclusion doesn't mean that others don't. Therefore, Mo Mo is somewhat lonely on Mount Luojia now. After calculating with his fingers, he realized that the five hundred-year period was almost up, so Mo Mo simply left Mount Luojia.

After leaving Luojia Mountain, Mo Mo first went to Wuzhi Mountain to visit Sun Wukong, who was being suppressed there. After years of suppression, Sun Wukong had long since lost his former arrogance and was no longer haughty. Instead, he had become more reserved and composed. It seemed that after being suppressed under Wuzhi Mountain for so many years, he had come to understand many things. However, the only thing that had not changed was the burning fighting spirit in his eyes.

Looking at Sun Wukong, who was still full of fighting spirit at the foot of the mountain, Mo Mo smiled slightly. He didn't know if Sun Wukong, who was suppressed under the Five Fingers Mountain for five hundred years in the original story, still had such a strong fighting spirit. But the fact that Sun Wukong in this world could still maintain such fighting spirit was related to Mo Mo. To be precise, it was related to the technique that Mo Mo left in the Water Curtain Cave.

The Five Elements Mountain that Buddha Tathagata pressed down on Sun Wukong didn't just suppress his body; it also suppressed all his abilities, including his magical power. While immortals and gods can survive without food because they can directly absorb external spiritual energy to replenish their energy, Sun Wukong's magical power was imprisoned, preventing him from drawing strength from the outside world. This meant that Sun Wukong, imprisoned under the Five Elements Mountain, was just like an ordinary person; he would go hungry. Therefore, the compassionate Buddha Tathagata instructed the Buddha guarding Sun Wukong to deliver him three meals a day on time. And since Sun Wukong was known for his copper head and iron brain, well, his food would then be copper balls and molten iron—a perfect match.

Therefore, for the past few hundred years, Sun Wukong has been eating copper pills when he's hungry and drinking molten iron when he's thirsty. If it weren't for the cultivation technique left by Mo Mo in the Water Curtain Cave, with Sun Wukong's eating and drinking habits, even if he wasn't crippled when he came out from under the Five Fingers Mountain, his strength would be greatly reduced, and he wouldn't be able to recover for even a thousand or eight hundred years. But with Mo Mo's cultivation technique, these copper pills and molten iron have truly become his tonics. Not only can they maintain his daily needs, but they can also slowly improve the strength of his physical body. Although it's not much, it's quite considerable over five hundred years.

Mo Mo didn't go down directly. He just glanced at Sun Wukong from afar and left. Since Sun Wukong had his back to the sky, although he knew someone had just come to see him, he couldn't see Mo Mo in the air. After looking at Sun Wukong, Mo Mo went to see Sha Wujing. After descending to the mortal world, Sha Wujing transformed into the 800-mile-long Flowing Sand River. Now he could take on a different form. Unlike the original story, the Flowing Sand River was wide and had abundant water. The surrounding land was fertile, with many farmlands. Although there were rumors of monsters eating people, strangely, the people around weren't afraid. They never approached the Flowing Sand River, and they would advise travelers to take a detour around it.

Mo Mo was initially surprised when he discovered this, but quickly understood. Sha Wujing was once a general in the Heavenly Court, and even if he had fallen to the point of cannibalism, he wouldn't have done so. After all, they had their memories with them; their past cultivation techniques and secret arts were still intact. For them, it was better to spend their time cultivating than constantly watching for people coming to the riverbank and then running over to eat them. However, he would still eat certain people, such as the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi. Mo Mo noticed that Sha Wujing already had eight egg-sized skulls hanging around his neck, suggesting that Tang Sanzang would be born soon. Mo Mo wondered if Sha Wujing deliberately blocked the 800-mile-long Flowing Sand River to prevent the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi from arriving in the West prematurely; otherwise, how could it be such a coincidence?

Mo Mo's most desired person on this trip was actually Zhu Bajie, since Mo Mo had tampered with his reincarnation. However, Mo Mo hadn't paid attention to him since then, so he didn't know what Zhu Bajie's current situation was like. But no matter what, it should be better than the original story.

To Mo Mo's surprise, not only was Zhu Bajie doing very well, but he also gave him a huge surprise, the kind that could scare someone to death.

Chapter 485 Surprise

Based on the timeline, Journey to the West takes place during the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang, and Sun Wukong was imprisoned under the Five Finger Mountain for 500 years. Going back 500 years from the Tang Dynasty corresponds to the Eastern Han Dynasty (Eastern Han: 25-220 AD; Tang Dynasty: 618-907 AD). However, in this world, these dates are not accurate, as Sun Wukong's havoc in the Heavenly Palace occurs after the Three Kingdoms period. Perhaps this is because it's a fantasy world. Furthermore, this world doesn't have any alien tribes from the grasslands; the world only has major categories like humans, demons, witches, and dragons. The scenario of the Central Plains being conquered by alien tribes in Chinese history is simply impossible. Humans were created by Nuwa, a sage; how could an alien race dare to try and rule over humans? They must be asking for trouble.

Mo Mo was initially surprised by the history of the human race in this world, but he quickly came to terms with it. Different worlds have different histories, so what's so strange about that? Therefore, Mo Mo quickly accepted it and leisurely traveled towards the place where he had calculated the birthplace of Zhu Bajie, enjoying the scenery along the way.

After many years of development, the human race has been exceptionally prosperous despite several periods of division and reunification. The rise and fall of human dynasties is actually not unrelated to the Heavenly Court.

The human race was created by Nuwa using the Nine Heavens Breath Soil born at the time of creation, mixed with the Three Lights Divine Water of the Mother of All Waters, and molded in her image. They can be said to have innate Dao bodies, born in harmony with the Dao. Therefore, although the human race is physically weak and has a short lifespan, they possess unparalleled talent and comprehension. This has led to the rapid increase in the strength of the human race since they embarked on the path of cultivation, making them one of the strongest races in the Three Realms. Moreover, they seem to be on the verge of surpassing others to become the strongest. So whenever the human race shows signs of revival, various situations always break out, causing wars to break out among the human race. Behind these wars, there are always clues about the Heavenly Court and those powerful races.

Mo Mo initially wanted to intervene, but later gave up because he discovered that the rise of the human race was already subtly threatening the Heavenly Court. The Heavenly Court was the representative of the Heavenly Dao, which was Hongjun. In other words, this was actually Hongjun's intention. What Hongjun did was similar to environmental protection in modern society, except that Hongjun did it earlier.

Moreover, everything that reaches its peak must decline. Suppose that one day the human race truly rules the entire prehistoric world, enslaving all other races. At that time, the human race's cultivation civilization will have reached its peak. Humans at that time might begin cultivating even before they are born. The human race would undoubtedly be an extremely glorious race. However, what supports such glory is an abundance of resources. But the resources of a world are limited. What will happen when cultivation resources become scarce? War, and a great war that sweeps across the entire Three Realms. At that time, the entire Three Realms might be shattered. Therefore, Hongjun would never allow a single race to dominate the prehistoric world.

What Mo Mo saw and heard along the way led him to discover something: the human race was showing signs of revival. What surprised him most was that the dynasty he was in was not the Three Kingdoms, Jin, Sui, or Tang, but a "Moon" that did not exist in Chinese history. The closer Mo Mo got to the capital of the Moon Kingdom, the more surprised he became, because he discovered that "Pigsy" was in the capital of the Moon Kingdom.

"It can't be that much of a coincidence!" Mo Mo looked at the capital of the Moon Kingdom so close at hand, a strange look flashing through his mind. But after thinking about it carefully, he felt it was impossible. After all, "Pigsy" had only been in the mortal world for a little over four hundred years, and this country was so prosperous. It couldn't have developed overnight. He probably thought that "Pigsy" was here for cultivation resources. After all, although they had many cultivation methods, cultivation still required resources, but collecting resources was a tedious process. So joining a powerful force would be an excellent choice. However, Mo Mo was wrong about this.

When Mo Mo reached the city gate and saw the three large characters above it, he realized he might have guessed wrong. It was possible that Zhu Bajie hadn't joined the country as a figurehead, but rather that the country itself might belong to him. The three characters on the gate read "Wangyue City" (望月城). As for what moon was being gazed upon, one could guess by considering Zhu Bajie's previous incarnation. The name of a capital city wasn't determined by such a figurehead, which made Mo Mo even more interested in this meeting.

Walking on the wide road paved with bluestone, looking at the smiling faces of the people coming and going, Mo Mo's lips unconsciously curled up. In this world overrun by demons, the fact that the physically weak humans could live so peacefully and proudly on this prosperous land made Mo Mo, who was also a human, feel a faint sense of pride. "This is the human race, indomitable, a race that no hardship can destroy."

Upon entering the capital, Mo Mo wasn't in a hurry to find Zhu Bajie. Instead, he wandered around the city, enjoying the beautiful scenery in the west, tasting the delicacies in the east, and strolling through the bustling streets in the north. He was having a great time. As expected of the capital of the Moon Kingdom, the city not only had numerous entrances and thriving commerce, but also an extremely high proportion of cultivators. At least two out of every ten people were cultivators. Moreover, he could often see cultivators at the Nascent Soul or Integration stages, who were considered powerful in the mortal realm, among the crowds. Occasionally, he could even see some Transcending Tribulation or Loose Immortals passing by. This made Mo Mo's evaluation of the city's prosperity even higher.

After tasting the "Immortal's Intoxication," which is said to amaze even the gods in heaven, Mo Mo bought a string of candied hawthorns. While enjoying the sweet and sour candied hawthorns, he strolled slowly toward the palace.

Perhaps because this is a mythical world, the buildings here are all quite tall and magnificent. Even the most ordinary dining tables in the homes of ordinary people are made of precious woods such as rosewood and sandalwood. Mo Mo even saw a woodcutter carrying a load of rosewood that had been cut into bundles and selling it as firewood. It was incredibly cheap; a full load of firewood cost only ten coins, which was equivalent to seven days' worth of food for an ordinary family of three.

Mo Mo did not conceal his presence along the way, but he was not worried about being stopped at all, because he had already identified Zhu Bajie's reincarnation when he approached the palace, and had already informed him in advance that he really wanted to meet Zhu Bajie and ask him what happened afterward and how he became the emperor of a country. After all, this was not only a surprise for Mo Mo, but also for the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist sect.

The palace guards must have received a telepathic message from Zhu Bajie beforehand, which is why they not only didn't stop him, but one of the guards, who was clearly a minor leader, even took the initiative to lead the way for Mo Mo. This minor leader actually possessed the cultivation level of the Integration Stage, while the ordinary guards also possessed the cultivation level of the Divine Transformation Stage, which shows the strength of the royal family.

Chapter 486 Zhu Wuneng's Ambition

The mortal dynasties are so powerful, perhaps that's why even the Heavenly Court is wary of them. After all, the Heavenly Court's soldiers are only at the Great Completion or Tribulation Transcending stage, and ordinary Heavenly Generals are only at the Loose Immortal stage. The stronger ones are only True Immortals, and Xuan Immortals are already qualified to be ranked among the immortals. If even the guards at the gate of the Moon Kingdom's palace have such cultivation, then wouldn't the elite troops in the army be able to reach the Integration or Void Transformation stage? And such cultivation is already close behind the Heavenly Soldiers. In addition, the number of Heavenly Soldiers is basically fixed, while the number of human cultivators is not fixed and will only continue to increase. However, all of this is irrelevant to Mo Mo. This is a problem that the Heavenly Court should worry about, not him.

Shaking off those miscellaneous thoughts, Mo Mo followed the guard to a very ordinary palace. This palace was indeed very ordinary, similar to other palaces, without any distinctive features. Unlike the palaces of concubines that we had just passed, which had their own unique features or distinctive statues and could be easily distinguished, this ordinary palace had a young man in a white robe standing quietly at the entrance, waiting for Mo Mo's arrival.

The man looked to be only twenty-four or twenty-five years old. He was handsome and masculine, and just by standing there, he exuded a powerful aura of ruling the world. Mo Mo could vaguely see the outline of Marshal Tianpeng from his eyebrows, and the aura emanating from him confirmed that this was indeed Marshal Tianpeng who had been banished to the mortal world.

The man initially appeared quite reserved, standing dignifiedly with his hands behind his back at the door. However, upon seeing Mo Mo's face clearly, his expression instantly changed drastically. He hurriedly walked to Mo Mo's side, respectfully performed a junior's bow, and then said excitedly, "This humble one, Zhu Wuneng, greets Senior. I was unaware of Senior's arrival and failed to greet you properly; I deserve to die a thousand deaths." Zhu Wuneng's actions left the guard who had accompanied Mo Mo completely dumbfounded. His worldview was shattered. Was this still the same Creator of the Moon Kingdom who could turn the world upside down with a flick of his wrist? Perhaps I woke up in the wrong position today?

Zhu Wuneng didn't care whether you were shocked or not; he was trembling with excitement because he never expected Mo Mo to come and visit him. Although they had only exchanged nods of acquaintance before, Zhu Wuneng had always held Mo Mo, a man of great strength and mysterious background, in high esteem. Mo Mo was someone even the Buddha treated with utmost respect; he was a true giant, someone Zhu Wuneng admired most and whose ultimate goal he strived for. Unfortunately, fate intervened; Zhu Wuneng's aptitude was insufficient, and his foundation was not solid enough, ultimately stopping at the peak of the Taiyi realm, missing the chance to become a Daluo. It was precisely because of this that he chose this path, descending to the mortal realm to start anew. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Mo Mo was his idol.

Moreover, during his years in the mortal realm, he had learned more or less about what had happened back then. He understood that if it weren't for Mo Mo's intervention, he wouldn't be sitting in this magnificent palace, revered by thousands, but rather in a desolate wilderness, living among wild beasts and eating raw meat. Therefore, his gratitude towards Mo Mo was boundless. Over the years, he had constantly thought about how to repay Mo Mo's kindness. And now, Mo Mo had appeared before him, how could he not be excited?

As for how he knew, he was once Marshal Tianpeng of the Heavenly Court. How could he have climbed up to that position from humble beginnings without some means? Moreover, he had been kind to people and made many friends over the years. So even though he was in the mortal realm, he still had some understanding of the affairs of the Heavenly Court. Otherwise, he could not have built such a vast empire in such a short period of time. Although this was largely due to luck, it was also related to the help of his fellow immortals.

Moreover, he was a candidate for the Journey to the West, so how could the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist sects let him go unchecked? They would definitely send people to contact him frequently. Through these interactions, they obtained a lot of information. It was through this information that he learned that it wasn't an accident, but rather that someone had intervened midway. He was able to stay here safely all these years thanks to that person. Therefore, although Zhu Wuneng couldn't say that he would blindly obey Mo Mo's words, he would never contradict Mo Mo as long as it didn't go against his original intentions. Of course, Mo Mo himself was unaware of this, and he was also startled by Zhu Wuneng's change, thinking that something had happened.

As Zhu Wuneng led him into the palace, he excitedly recounted his feelings, and only then did Mo Mo understand the reason for the situation. After listening to Zhu Wuneng's words, Mo Mo felt somewhat embarrassed, because he hadn't expected that his casual intervention, which he had forgotten about afterward, would lead to such a change, and that he would now have Zhu Wuneng as a die-hard fan. Looking at the fanaticism in Zhu Wuneng's eyes, Mo Mo estimated that if he asked this guy to grab weapons and fight his way to the Heavenly Court, the guy probably wouldn't even bat an eye, and might even drag the entire Moon Kingdom up with him to fight.

The excitement and fervor in Zhu Wuneng's eyes were almost overwhelming for Mo Mo, so he quickly changed the subject, no longer discussing the past with him, but asking about what happened after he descended to the mortal realm. This was what Mo Mo most wanted to know, because logically, Zhu Wuneng was the chosen disciple of the pilgrim, so he shouldn't be the ruler of a country. Even if Buddhism agreed, the Heavenly Court and other saints would never agree. As Zhu Wuneng recounted his story, Mo Mo realized that the root of everything was still with him.

According to Zhu Wuneng, he fell into a coma after entering the reincarnation channel. In his dazed state, he heard a very pleasant female voice. The woman seemed very curious about him. He said he felt a powerful divine sense probing his origins. However, the woman seemed disappointed and then threw him away. You heard right, she threw him away. Mo Mo even recognized her again. After throwing him away, the woman said something. At that time, his consciousness was somewhat blurred, and he only heard incoherent sentences such as "Interesting, do a favor, send him to the royal family." However, after thinking about it, he guessed that the empress who had transformed into reincarnation found it interesting and then did a favor, and that's how he was born into the royal family of this empire, which was on the verge of collapse at the time.

After his birth, Zhu Wuneng rose to power with his extraordinary talent and unique advantages, eventually inheriting the precarious and collapsing empire. When he ascended the throne, the powerful demons and dark forces that had been causing trouble everywhere miraculously disappeared. He then smoothly integrated the entire empire and named it Yue to express his intentions. However, he didn't know what Mo Mo meant at the time, so although he knew that everything was brought to him by Mo Mo, he dared not use Mo Mo's name. With the resources he gained from the power of this country, he has now ascended to Taiyi again, and Taiyi is not his end. He will take back everything that belongs to him, bit by bit.

Chapter 487 Ready

In this ordinary palace, Mo Mo listened as Zhu Wuneng recounted his experiences after being born into the mortal world, along with some speculations. After listening to Zhu Wuneng's words, Mo Mo remained silent for a long time. He had only acted on a whim and hadn't thought much about it at all. He never expected it would cause so many misunderstandings and lead to such a series of consequences. However, he didn't reject this outcome and was even a little relieved. As for those favors and karmic debts, if Mo Mo really didn't repay them, what could they do to him?

However, although there have been some changes, it does not affect the journey to the west. Otherwise, Guanyin would have already attacked his peach forest. In order to go west, Zhu Wuneng began to cultivate the next successor after consolidating the power of the country. A hundred years ago, he had already abdicated the throne to his younger brother, whom he had wholeheartedly cultivated for nearly three hundred years, and successfully escaped. Moreover, he also has another identity in a manor called Gaojiazhuang, far away from the capital.

Perhaps fate truly has its own design. Although Zhu Wuneng wasn't reincarnated as Zhu Bajie, he still ended up in Gao Family Village, albeit under a different identity. He was, in essence, a mountain bandit king. When Mo Mo asked if he knew Gao Cuilan, Zhu Wuneng looked completely blank. Mo Mo quickly realized that the Journey to the West was still decades or even centuries away. Not only was Gao Cuilan still alive, but even her father might not have been born yet. After understanding this, he forgot about it; it was just a casual question. After all, she was the woman Zhu Bajie had always longed for in the original story. Although her role was small, she was still quite important. Mo Mo naturally wanted to meet the woman the former Marshal Tianpeng couldn't forget. However, since she wasn't born yet, he had to let it go.

After learning what had happened, Mo Mo stayed for half a day, offering some guidance to Zhu Wuneng on issues he didn't understand in his cultivation, before preparing to leave. Zhu Wuneng, upon learning of Mo Mo's departure, tried his best to persuade him to stay. However, when he realized Mo Mo was determined to leave, he prepared many treasures to give to him. Mo Mo didn't stand on ceremony, taking some of the rare and precious fruits and treasures he liked before departing. What Mo Mo didn't know was that after he left, Zhu Wuneng repeatedly murmured Gao Cuilan's name, firmly memorizing it. It was precisely because of this one sentence from Mo Mo that Zhu Wuneng later became a son-in-law of the Gao family and married Gao Cuilan.

Of course, Zhu Wuneng's marriage to Gao Cuilan was not only due to Mo Mo's unintentional question, but also related to Zhu Wuneng's already budding romantic feelings and Gao Cuilan herself. Gao Cuilan's appearance was five or six parts similar to Chang'e, and her temperament was also very similar. In this life, Zhu Wuneng was not only not a pig-headed human-bodied monster, but also very handsome and powerful. So, what happened next was a natural progression. When Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong arrived at Gao Family Village, Zhu Wuneng's child was already old enough to run errands, which was something no one expected. Of course, that's a story for later. Right now, Mo Mo is searching for the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi.

Mo Mo sought out the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi because after leaving, he suddenly thought of a question: In the original novel, Tang Seng's father was named Chen E, courtesy name Guangrui. He was a scholar who passed the imperial examination during the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang. He was recommended by Wei Zheng to become the prefect of Jiangzhou and married Yin Wenjiao, the daughter of Prime Minister Yin Kaishan. Everything seemed perfect; it was a typical union of a talented scholar and a beautiful woman. However, on his way to take up his post, he was killed by the river bandit Liu Hong.

Coincidentally, the place where they were killed was under the jurisdiction of the Dragon King of Hongjiang. The Dragon King of Hongjiang, grateful for Chen Guangrui's life-saving grace (the Dragon King of Hongjiang was captured by fishermen, then bought by Chen Guangrui, and finally released because of his extraordinary spirituality), used a face-preserving pearl to preserve his body. Seventeen years later, Tang Sanzang and his disciples on their journey to the west happened to encounter the Dragon King of Hongjiang. After learning the truth, Sun Wukong avenged Tang Sanzang, and Chen Guangrui was also able to return to life. Tang Sanzang was also saved because his mother decisively put him in a wooden basin and floated him down the river in a critical moment.

Logically, everything should be fine, but Mo Mo has discovered a serious problem. Because he slightly altered Zhu Wuneng's reincarnation, the current country is not Tang at all, and the prime minister is not named Yin Kaishan. So Mo Mo wonders if Tang Sanzang will still be born. However, he thinks Guanyin and the others should be able to find a way, at most changing the person. After all, identity is not important. So Mo Mo only thought about it briefly and then ignored it. What really intrigued him was another question: the current country is called Yue Kingdom, and the royal family of Yue Kingdom does not have the surname Tang or Li, but Zhu. So, after Tang Sanzang is born, will he have to be named Yue Seng or Zhu Seng? In Journey to the West, Tang Sanzang's catchphrase is "This humble monk comes from the Great Tang Dynasty in the East, and is going to the Western Paradise to worship Buddha and seek scriptures." But now the Great Tang Dynasty no longer exists. However, Mo Mo thought about it and then stopped thinking about it. Finding the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi is more important. He has been in this world for so long and has never seen Jin Chanzi or his reincarnation.

After leaving the palace, Mo Mo wandered around the capital for several days, but unfortunately he did not find the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi, which dashed his hopes of exploring the secrets of Jin Chanzi's physical body. However, these days were not without gains. Although he did not find the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi, he did find many famous historical figures, such as Wei Zheng, Fang Xuanling, and Li Jing. However, perhaps because there was no great chaos during the fall of the Sui Dynasty in history, these people had fewer achievements. Although they were still serving in the court, their status was much lower.

After searching for several days without finding the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi, Mo Mo decisively gave up. There were only two possible reasons for this: either Jin Chanzi had not yet been reincarnated, or the secrets surrounding him had been concealed by a powerful being, making it impossible for Mo Mo to find him. In either case, continuing to search would be a waste of time, so Mo Mo decisively gave up.

After leaving the capital, Mo Mo headed west. The Journey to the West was about to begin, and the little black dragon and the others had all found a place to get involved. How could he miss it? So he was now preparing to find a suitable place to settle down, tidy up a bit, and wait for Sun Wukong and the others to arrive.

Many others shared Mo Mo's mindset, and many had already made preparations. Along the way, Mo Mo encountered many acquaintances or their pets and mounts. Without exception, their cave dwellings were all located in places that were essential for the westward journey. Of course, some of them were ancient demons that had existed for many years. Finally, after visiting Zhen Yuanzi, Mo Mo chose a good mountain and transformed it into his temporary cave dwelling. He settled down and brought out the ten fruitful peach trees. The bait was ready, and he was just waiting for the fish to take the bait.

Chapter 488 Tang Sanzang

In a fairly nice mansion on the outskirts of the capital of Yue Kingdom, a shout of "Young mistress is about to give birth!" instantly roused the entire mansion to a frenzy. People were calling for doctors, searching for midwives, and boiling water. Almost everyone in the mansion was mobilized. In front of a room with its windows tightly sealed, a handsome man nearing thirty was pacing anxiously. His maids and servants were also nervously watching the closed door.

Just as everyone was on edge, a beautiful and pure figure quietly arrived, standing silently above the mansion. With a loud cry, the room burst into a dazzling golden light, and then a woman in her thirties walked out with a smile. She first bowed to the man and then said loudly, "Congratulations, young master, it's a baby boy! The young mistress and the baby boy are both well."

The man and the maids and servants around him were still stunned by the golden light. They slowly came to their senses after hearing the woman's words. After regaining his senses, he did not rush into the room. Instead, he swept his stern gaze around the maids and servants before calmly saying, "Nothing happened just now. You didn't see anything. Do you understand?"

The servants and maids around him naturally understood what he meant and all said that nothing had happened. The woman, who was the midwife, was taken aback at first, and then said nonchalantly, "Young master, the young mistress and the young master are both safe and sound. Should we go and tell the master and mistress now?"

"Alright, go ahead. After you've told the master and madam the good news, go to the accounting office to collect your reward." The man seemed to have thought of something, and his serious expression changed to one of tenderness as he walked into the room. In the air, the woman holding a jade pendant, radiating a faint golden light, smiled serenely and finally appeared before the world. Upon seeing this, the maids and servants in the mansion all knelt down, shouting, "Greetings, Guanyin Bodhisattva!" Hearing the commotion, the man in the room quickly picked up his newborn child, helped his pale-faced wife to her feet, and walked unsteadily to the door, where he also knelt down.

Seeing this, Guanyin smiled and nodded downwards. With a gentle lift of her right hand, she helped all the kneeling people to their feet. After helping them up, she said nothing, only glancing calmly at the infant in the man's arms. Then, her figure gradually rose and slowly disappeared from everyone's sight. The infant in the man's arms was naturally Tang Sanzang, the pilgrim on his journey to the West. It's worth mentioning that Mo Mo's initial thought did not come true. This family's surname was Tang, and although the ruler of the country remained unchanged, for some reason, the name "Yue" was changed and replaced by "Tang." Rumors circulated that the country was renamed because a powerful being in heaven spoke up, saying that the character "Yue" violated certain taboos and could not be used, so it had to be changed. When Mo Mo heard this news, he sighed deeply, marveling at the powerful inertia of the plot. It was truly remarkable that even this could be resolved.

The birth of Tang Sanzang was a major event for the Three Realms, whether for immortals, Buddhas, demons, or monsters. This was because the Journey to the West, besides obtaining the scriptures, also carried another mission: to eliminate the demons on the westward journey. By now, the rise of the human race was a foregone conclusion, and the human race was destined to become the protagonist of this continent in the future. However, in addition to the human race, there were also a large number of demons on this continent. They were unwilling to leave this continent and even more unwilling to acknowledge the status of the human race. Therefore, the journey to the west was also a contest between humans and demons, and even between demons and the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist sect.

If the demon race wins, the eastward spread of Buddhism will inevitably fail, and the human race's fortune will also be damaged. If the demons lose, then the demons on this continent will never have a chance to rise again. Therefore, the demons on this continent gathered on the westward journey, trying to sabotage it. However, their fate was already sealed, because this matter concerns whether Buddhism can spread eastward and whether Buddhism can prosper. Therefore, the two sages behind Buddhism will certainly not sit idly by. Moreover, this was decided by Hongjun, which is the Heavenly Dao. Even if the sages intervene, they cannot change it, because the power they face is simply too great.

Time flies, and eighteen years have passed in the blink of an eye. The little baby who was born wrinkled and bruised has grown into a handsome and refined young man. However, what troubles the Tang family is that although their young master is exceptionally talented and handsome, he has no interest in the classics of various schools of thought or in spiritual practice. Instead, he is particularly fond of the abstruse Buddhist scriptures, often studying them for an entire day without even eating. This worries the Tang family greatly. Fortunately, although the Tang family is not extremely wealthy, they are still quite well-off, enough for him to squander for a lifetime. So they thought, "If you like studying Buddhist scriptures, then let you study them. We'll leave the task of bringing glory to the family to your son."

However, they were immediately put on hold, because while they were busy choosing a place for the coming-of-age ceremony, their young master suddenly took out a book of scriptures and told them that he was going to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures for the Tang Dynasty and to save the world.

The Tang family could not possibly agree to this. The journey to the Western Paradise was more than ten thousand miles long, and demons roamed the area along the way. Their young master had no magical power whatsoever; he was just a weak and helpless young master. So they decisively bound Tang Sanzang. Although he wasn't the only son in their Tang family, he was still the legitimate heir, and they wouldn't let him go to his death.

However, as the saying goes, you can bind my body, but you can't bind my heart. Although the Tang family had bound Tang Sanzang, his desire to travel to the West never changed. Whenever the Tang family was slightly negligent, he would secretly leave with his luggage. After several such incidents, the news finally reached the emperor's ears. The current emperor received Tang Sanzang and, after a series of questions and answers, was delighted and granted him permission to become a monk. However, he rejected his request to travel to the West because his strength was simply too weak.

What happened next was similar to the original story. When Tang Sanzang held the Water and Land Assembly, Guanyin transformed into a little beggar and offered to exchange her tattered cassock for his jewel-encrusted cassock made of gold thread. After hearing the little beggar's words, Tang Sanzang, despite everyone's dissuasion, shamefully took off the jewel-encrusted cassock and put on the tattered one. But as soon as he put on the cassock, it suddenly changed its appearance and became a glittering brocade cassock, and the little beggar transformed back into Guanyin's true form.

After Guanyin revealed her true form, all the people below knelt down in worship. Even the emperor and his officials respectfully clasped their hands together and bowed to Guanyin. Finally, amidst the cheers of the entire city's populace, Tang Sanzang rode his white horse and, with a few guards, embarked on his journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures.

Chapter 489 Departure

Although the official start of the Journey to the West was not marked by any earth-shattering phenomena, it still alarmed a large number of powerful figures.

Needless to say, Buddhist masters like Tathagata and Cundi were also involved, as were the Three Pure Ones, the leaders of Taoism, the rival of Buddhism. As one of the parties involved, the demon race would naturally pay close attention, so they already knew about Tang Sanzang before he even left the city.

Meanwhile, outside the chaos of the primordial world, on a divine mountain standing amidst the chaos, surrounded by stars and radiating a soft light, a stunningly beautiful woman opened her bright eyes, as dazzling as the stars themselves.

"The Journey to the West has finally begun. It's time to go back and join the fun." With that, the beautiful woman moved and vanished from her spot. After she left, the enormous divine mountain surrounded by stars instantly lost its light, gradually disappearing into the chaos and finally vanishing from sight.
