Capítulo 81

"Huh..." Guo Ruchang was greatly surprised and stared at Youliang, asking, "You know Nizi?"

“Nizi, she is my sister. I have been looking for her for a long time…” Youliang said softly.

Guo Ruchang looked at Youliang and nodded, saying, "That's right, the copper thimble that Nizi is carrying is the key to opening the secret chamber of the underground palace."

"You've seen Nizi?" Youliang looked up and asked in surprise.

"Yes, Nizi has been here for several days. She was here before you came to the island in the middle of the lake," Guo Ruchang admitted.

"Where is Nizi now?" Youliang was both surprised and delighted upon hearing this. He grabbed Guo Ruchang's sleeve and hurriedly asked.

“She’s gone,” Guo Ruchang said, puzzled. “I went to find something to eat, but when I came back to the island in the middle of the lake, I couldn’t find her.”

"Nizi, Nizi..." Youliang turned around and shouted loudly, anxiously searching along the lake shore, passing through the stone forest.

Shen Caihua closed his eyes tightly, standing there silently, motionless, only his nostrils twitching slightly.

"Caihua, what's wrong with you?" The Hakka nanny couldn't help but ask when she saw him looking so strange for the first time.

"I think I've smelled something, a strange feeling..." Shen Caihua muttered to himself.

"A strange feeling?" the Hakka old woman asked, puzzled.

"But it's so far away, so very far away..." Shen Caihua was lost in deep memories. After a long while, he finally opened his eyes and said calmly, "I remember now, it was Mo Mo..."

Oh no! The opening of "The Ghost Pot" really says that Dudu is male... What should we do? We have to change it. Let's say that the ghost bat saw the beautiful feathers of the large parrot and mistook it for a female, since Dudu is from abroad~~~~~~~ (Please make sure the children pay attention to this point)

"Mo Mo? Is that the little girl you've been looking for?" the Hakka nanny asked in surprise.

“I can smell her scent…” Shen Caihua replied thoughtfully.

The Hakka woman looked at Chen Caihua for a while before finally nodding and turning to ask Guo Ruchang, "Master Guo, has a girl named 'Mo Mo' ever been here? She looks about six or seven years old."

“No,” Guo Ruchang said, quite surprised. “It’s been 250 years. Apart from a little girl named Nizi who came a few days ago, no woman has come down to the navel.”

"How old is Nizi?" the Hakka nanny asked.

"Six or seven years old," Guo Ruchang replied.

The Hakka woman smiled and said, "I understand now. Nizi is Momo, and Momo is Nizi. They are the same person."

“Nizi…” Youliang’s voice was already a little hoarse as he walked back, looking lost and dejected.

“Hey, this old woman is asking you something,” the Hakka woman said to Youliang, “you’re not Nizi’s biological brother, are you?”

Youliang was taken aback, then nodded and replied, "She is my god-sister."

The Hakka woman smiled slightly and said, "That's right. Where is her home? Who else lives in the house?"

With red eyes, Youliang recounted, "Nizi's life was so miserable. She originally lived in Fenglingdu Town with her grandfather, but on the day Grandpa Guo passed away, the town mayor seized her old house, and they were also chasing her. Nizi fled to Fengling Temple, where my master, Yidu, took her in, but those bad guys still wouldn't let her go. They chased her to the temple and shot Master Yidu dead. Nizi and I fled to our old home in Aoli Village on the south bank of the Yellow River, hoping to live a peaceful life, but the bad guys still found us. They killed my father and mother and set fire to the house..." At this point, Youliang was already sobbing uncontrollably.

"Ah... How dare someone occupy my Guo family's old house! This is outrageous! This is intolerable! I'll go and bite them to death..." Guo Ruchang was so angry that he jumped up and down, his neck cracking, and he shouted incoherently.

"Child, don't cry. What happened next?" the Hakka nanny comforted her.

"Later at Foya Temple, my sister and I were captured by those bad guys and taken to Tongguan. We were locked in a family's woodshed. That night, a Taoist priest named Jia from Baiyun Temple came and kidnapped my sister. I escaped overnight and have been searching for my sister everywhere..." Youliang said.

The Hakka woman nodded and said, "Do you know that Nizi has another name?"

“Other names?” Youliang shook his head and said, “Nizi’s name is Guo Ni, that’s all.”

“Caihua, that’s…that’s great! So that girl is…the Momo you’ve been looking for…” Dudu whispered in Shen Caihua’s ear from her shoulder.

The Hakka woman looked around and said slowly, "Now that Guo Ni has come to the island in the middle of the lake, there's no way she could leave at such a young age. Grandpa Guo, think about it, where else could she go?"

Guo Ruchang shook his head in confusion, pondered for a long time, and finally said doubtfully, "Then there's only one possibility left..."

"What's possible?" The Hakka woman stared intently at Guo Ruchang.

“Nizi has opened the gate to the underground palace…” Cold sweat beaded on Guo Ruchang’s forehead.

Chapter 125

Nizi fell into the darkness, her body plummeting rapidly. Terrified, she closed her eyes and instinctively flailed her hands wildly in the air, but she touched nothing.

With a "plop," her back seemed to land on an extremely elastic net. After sinking, she bounced up and down several times before stopping. Nizi opened her eyes in horror.

She fell into a giant spider web...

A faint green glow shone from the right, revealing a pool of water several meters below, steaming and reflecting the glow, its depth unknown.

Just as she was still in shock, a white figure silently crawled towards Nizi...

Once Nizi sat up and her eyes adjusted to the dim light, she suddenly realized that the enormous, white spider was almost within reach... The spider was about the same size as her! Nizi was instantly terrified, her body shrank back in fear, while the giant spider approached step by step, slowly extending a long mandible from its mouth...

This is an amphibious cave spider. Because it lives in darkness all year round, it has become albino and mutated. It not only hunts all creatures that fall into its web, but it can also dive into the water to kill fish, inject highly toxic digestive enzymes, decompose the fish meat and organs into liquid, and then suck it into its stomach. After each meal, it can go for months without eating.

The spider brandished its large chelipeds, each end equipped with sharp fangs. Its six legs, covered in long, bristly hairs, rested firmly on the thick web. Eight enormous white eyes stared intently at Nizi. After a brief standoff, the giant spider decided to seize its large prey. It slowly opened its mouth, raising its sharp mandibles to lunge forward, ready to pierce Nizi's flesh…

At this critical moment, Nizi suddenly felt a movement in her throat, and then her mouth involuntarily opened, a beam of red light shooting out from her mouth. At the crucial moment, the giant blood fleas were activated...

The giant blood flea pounced on the giant spider's head, piercing its skull with its proboscis with a "plop," releasing a "blood curse," then pulled out and retracted its proboscis. With a "whoosh," it leaped backward, calmly returning to Nizi's mouth. At that moment, the astonished Nizi still had her mouth agape.

The giant spider shook its head frantically, staggering along the edge of its web, its body swaying unsteadily, as if it were drunk.

Without thinking twice, Nizi seized the opportunity, leaped up and pounced, pushing the giant spider off its web and into the pool of water below. Due to inertia, she lost her balance and fell into the water with a "plop," splashing water everywhere.

This is a hot spring; the water is warm and smooth. Nizi can't swim, and no matter how much she flailed her arms and legs, she eventually sank slowly...

Just when Nizi was completely desperate, she suddenly felt something lifting her from beneath her, bringing her to the surface, and then gently pushing her to the shore. Without thinking twice, Nizi gripped the protruding rocks on the bank tightly with both hands and struggled to climb up. Looking back in terror, she peered into the water by the green bioluminescence and saw that it was a group of large fish, each weighing about two or three pounds, that had been supporting her…

The fish, called "earth fish," had a very peculiar appearance: flat heads, round eye sockets with no visible pupils, tiny mouths like a baby's, yellow bodies without scales, and long tails. Once they pushed Nizi ashore, they were overjoyed, leaping and splashing in the water before turning around and swarming forward, viciously tearing at the giant, stiff spider floating on the surface…

The giant hunting spider is an amphibian arthropod. Although its webs on the rock face are very strong, very few prey dare to enter and be caught. Therefore, it can only dive into the water every now and then to hunt one or two land fish for food. As a result, the land fish hate the giant hunting spider intensely, but they are no match for the agile and ruthless spider, and often lose their lives. This time, Nizi helped them eliminate this ferocious enemy, so they were overjoyed and worked together to lift Nizi out of the water and bring her to the shore, as a way of repaying her.

Nizi sat on the shore, watching the earth fish frantically devour the giant spider. Before long, the spider was reduced to nothing but bones. After resting for a while, Nizi began to look around. Grandpa Guo had said that below was a secret underground chamber where the "Ghost Pot" was stored, but she didn't know if there was a passage back.

Not far ahead, a crystalline green light emanated from the door. Nizi stood up and carefully walked over. When she got closer, she found that it was a door made of fluorite, with a faint green glow emanating from the door.

Nizi stood before the stone door, gently touching it with her hand. It was cool and very smooth. She pushed it open with a "creak," revealing a stone passageway. The stone walls on both sides were unevenly inlaid with pieces of fluorite, like wall lamps, casting a soft green light on the passageway. It was very clear. Upon closer inspection, Nizi couldn't help but be greatly surprised...

Thousands of tiny figures, only an inch tall, stood in the passageway. Men, women, the elderly, and children filled the narrow passageway, dressed in ancient clothing. The men mostly wore straight-hemmed robes, while the women wore ruqun (a type of traditional Chinese dress). The densely packed figures stretched into the distance.

Nizi was stunned and at a loss, and dared not take a step. Although she was barefoot, she was still afraid of stepping on these little people.

The little figures had blank stares and remained motionless, like statues.

Are they mannequins? Nizi pondered, then squatted down and tentatively reached out a finger, wanting to pick up a small boy figure and examine it closely in her palm...

With a "snap," the boy actually opened his mouth and bit Nizi's index finger. It felt like being pricked by a needle. When she pulled her finger back, she saw two rows of fine teeth marks, with a slight oozing of blood.

Nizi stood up angrily, kicked the boy who had bitten her, sending him flying with a "smack".

This caused quite a stir. The little figures started running around and instantly formed a huge formation, layer upon layer. It looked chaotic, but in fact, it was well-organized and followed the principles of the Five Elements and the Book of Changes.

Nizi blinked and stared at them intently. The image of the "Bluebird Burial Scripture" from her dream appeared in her mind. There was a strange puzzle in it that matched her. Although she couldn't say the name of the puzzle, she knew how to break it.

This is the "Taiyin Tengshe Yin Dun Formation," which was set up by Guo Pu in the past. If one knows the "Eighteen Forms of Zhuyou" divine skill, one can naturally subdue those villains; otherwise, it will be extremely difficult to overcome this obstacle.

Every formation has eight gates: Life, Injury, Blockage, Rest, View, Open, Shock, and Death. Eight deities guard these eight gates: Chief Talisman, Soaring Serpent, Taiyin, Six Harmonies, White Tiger, Black Tortoise, Nine Earths, and Nine Heavens. These tiny figures are not actually human. They are impervious to weapons, fire, and flood, and are not afraid of being trampled or crushed. Once an enemy mistakenly enters the formation, they will frantically pounce and bite, like an army of ants in a jungle, devouring the enemy completely.

The *Book of Jin* records that Pu loved a maidservant of Hu Mengkang, the governor of Lujiang, but could not obtain her. So he took three *dou* of small beans and scattered them around Hu's house. One morning, the governor saw thousands of men in red surrounding his house, but they vanished upon closer inspection. He was greatly alarmed and asked Pu to divine the cause. Pu said, "Your household should not keep this maidservant. You can sell her twenty li to the southeast. Be careful not to haggle over the price, and this evil spirit will be eliminated." The governor followed his advice. Pu secretly ordered someone to buy the maidservant at a low price. He then made a talisman and threw it into a well. The thousands of men in red were all bound and threw themselves into the well. The governor was overjoyed. Pu then took the maidservant away.

The tiny figures in the passageway are the traps set up by Guo Pu using the illusion of "scattering beans to create soldiers," called the "Taiyin Tengshe Yin Dun Formation." The key to breaking the formation is to "enter the death gate, eat the old beans, and do not distinguish between men and women."

Nizi recalled the scene in her dream, so she steeled herself, tiptoed, and stepped into the deadly gate of the formation, carefully guarding against the little people biting her toes.

The little people were startled and ran around in a panic, but Nizi still spotted the white-bearded old man hiding behind a pregnant woman. The little man had a white head and beard, a wrinkled face, looked very old and frail, and was very fat. His frightened eyes were peeking at the woman from behind her dress...

Nizi bent down and pinched him with two fingers. "Trying to run away? No way..." she muttered to herself.

The old man struggled desperately between Nizi's fingers, his beard and hair flying, glaring at her angrily.

Nizi closed her eyes, grabbed the old man, and shoved him straight into her mouth. With a "crack," she bit off his head, blood splattering everywhere. Then she threw his body into her mouth as well, chewed for a while, and a bean-like taste filled her mouth.

The children cried out in alarm, their formation instantly crumbling. They scrambled around, covering a plump old woman, trying to hide among the ranks. Suddenly, Nizi roared, slapping down and grabbing the old woman in the crimson dress, then lifting her up. The old woman, heavily pregnant, kicked her legs wildly, tears streaming down her face, her hands clasped in desperate pleas for Nizi's mercy.

Without saying a word, Nizi quickly stuffed it into her mouth, biting it in two with a "crunch," and blood flowed from the corner of her mouth, along with a strong bean-like taste.

The "Taiyin Tengshe Yin Dun Formation" instantly lost its "core," leaving the group leaderless and collapsing in an instant. The little people retreated one after another, and finally bound their own arms and jumped into a small pool at the end of the passage.

The passageway returned to calm. Nizi tiptoed to the edge of the pool and found it filled with thousands of red adzuki beans, some of which had even sprouted...

Nizi breathed a sigh of relief. The illusion of the "Taiyin Tengshe Yin Dun Ju" had been broken. Now, she could only continue forward to find a way out.

Turning the corner of the stone wall, a spacious stone hall suddenly appeared in front of us, filled with steaming hot spring water, bubbling and gurgling. Fluorite was also embedded in the surrounding stone walls, emitting a dark green light.

Through the steam, Nizi saw a small door opposite the stone hall, from which a faint yellow light shone. The hot spring water was dark, the color of the fountain pen ink on her grandfather's desk. Several flat, large white mushrooms floated on the surface, a stark contrast to the spring water. She counted them; there were eight in total.

Nizi was troubled. The stone walls on both sides of the stone hall were smooth. If she wanted to get to the small door on the other side, she would have to wade through the black hot spring. But she didn't know how deep the water was, and it would be troublesome if she fell in.

It seems the only way is to step on those eight white mushrooms to get across.

Chapter 126

The surface of the hot spring pool was very calm, with only a few bubbles rising from the bottom; there were no ripples. Strangely, the eight white mushrooms were slowly drifting about, seemingly without roots. Nizi remembered that sometimes small mushrooms would grow at the base of the walls of the old house on the east bank of the river, and she had picked them before, but those mushrooms always had roots…

Nizi closed her eyes, trying hard to recall the dreams she'd had in the past few days. After thinking for a long time, she couldn't recall any dreams involving mushrooms. Her mood grew increasingly dejected. She felt utterly useless; she hadn't even mastered the "Five Forms of Bodhidharma" that Master Yidu had given her. Otherwise, she might have been able to cross the river on a reed. Alas… now, the road ahead was blocked, and she couldn't return to the stone platform at the navel of the earth. It seemed she was doomed to die here, and she would never see her mother again.

Nizi sat by the spring pool, gazing at the dark water. She slowly calmed herself, recalling how, when she fell into the spiderweb, a large, blood-red flea had flown out of her mouth, attacked the spider, and then returned. But why couldn't she feel it now? Was it still hiding inside her mouth? She dug her fingers down her throat, trying to dislodge it, which caused her to gag, but still found nothing. It was truly strange…

Years ago, in a moment of crisis, Mengla Chaweng Bing injected "blood magic" into Nizi's body. When the girl grew up, she would one day suddenly attain enlightenment in the art of "blood magic," becoming the greatest sorcerer since the Thonburi Dynasty of Siam. At the same time, this child would avenge Mengla Chaweng Bing and kill the Grand Master. Not long ago, Nizi accidentally broke a glass bottle in her sleep in her old house, unintentionally releasing a large blood flea that had been hibernating in corpse oil. Summoned by the "blood magic" within Nizi, the flea burrowed into her nostrils and hid inside her body. A series of coincidences caused the "blood magic" within Nizi to awaken prematurely…

Nizi finally yawned and then drifted off to sleep.

In her dream, she encountered the barefoot, turbaned, bearded old man, Mengla Chaweng Bing, depicted on the porcelain vase. She then practiced all the techniques of the "Blood Curse" with him. Finally, with bloodshot eyes, Mengla Chaweng Bing cried out, "Kill the Grand Master of Siam, Mengla Chaweng Kunba, to avenge my master!"

Nizi suddenly woke up, her whole body drenched in cold sweat. "Hehehehe..." she laughed maniacally, muttering, "Revenge... Nizi is going to kill the Grand Preceptor and avenge my master..."

Just then, with a splash, eight large mushrooms suddenly leaped out of the ink-black spring water and pounced straight at Nizi...

Eight creatures, each less than three feet tall, with disheveled hair, naked bodies, and covered in yellowish-brown fur resembling both humans and apes, surrounded Nizi. Their round eyes gleamed with evil light, their noses protruded like dogs', densely covered with fleshy red olfactory cells, and their enormous heads were concave, filled with water, each topped with a mushroom-shaped spiky crown.

Nizi was startled at first, but then calmed down. Now she had all the power of Mengla Chaweng Bing in her body. Her "Blood Curse" was completely natural, and her courage was now different from before. Moreover, her temperament had also changed.

Nizi stared coldly at the monkey-like monsters, who looked like four or five-year-old children. Their yellowish-brown fur secreted sticky fluid and emitted a foul odor.

They are ancient creatures called "Kappa," also known as "Water Tiger" by the ancients. The evil spirit "Water Monkey" in folk legends is this creature. Nowadays, they have basically disappeared from the lakes and rivers of the Central Plains, and can only be found occasionally in remote and sparsely populated places.

The kappa has exceptionally long arms and legs with webbed toes, making it adept at swimming. Its arms are flexible and not restricted by joints; if severed, they can regenerate within three days. The kappa has a disheveled head with a disc-shaped depression in the center; when filled with water, it possesses immense strength, which vanishes when the water is removed. The kappa is one of the closest primates to humans; those that live over 500 years can generally communicate with humans to some extent through telepathy, but lack language due to the different structure of their vocal cords. Furthermore, ancient texts record that the kappa has three anuses (censored?), which are said to have the ability to spray water or venom.

These eight "kappa" are a family. Among them, the two who look old, one male and one female, were subdued by Guo Pu using his "divine healing arts" and were forbidden to stay in the underground palace to protect the ghost pot. It has been more than 1,700 years since then. The other six are all males, the children of the old kappa, the youngest of whom is more than 500 years old.

The *Biography of Guo Pu* in the *Book of Jin* records that during the "War of the Eight Princes" and the "Invasions of the Five Barbarian Tribes" in the Western Jin Dynasty (291-306 AD), much of the Central Plains was engulfed in war. The north was desolate, the elite migrated south, and barbarian tribes roamed the land; Han Chinese were nearly wiped out. Guo Pu foresaw the impending calamity in Hedong and sought help from Zhao Gu, a general of the court. Unfortunately, Zhao Gu had lost his beloved horse and was in a bad mood, refusing to see anyone. But Guo Pu said he could revive the horse. Zhao Gu was surprised and skeptical, but finally allowed him to try. Guo Pu ordered twenty or thirty strong men to take long poles and go to a place thirty li away to catch something. The men were puzzled, but Guo Pu explained that catching it would revive the horse. Sure enough, the men brought back a monster that resembled a monkey but wasn't. Upon seeing the horse, the creature "sucked at its nose," exhaling and sucking at the horse's nostrils. In a short while, the horse actually came back to life and was "as vigorous as ever." Zhao Gu was very happy and agreed to Guo Pu's request for help.

Looking at Niko, the "kappa" exchanged glances, then grinned, revealing four long, sharp teeth on both the upper and lower jaws.
