Aula 407 - Capítulo 6
Xu Chen turned and left.
"Wait, it was my fault, don't go!" Gu Xing hurriedly chased after him.
"Aren't we going to get something to eat?" Xu Chen didn't turn around, but slowed his pace to wait for Gu Xing.
Gu Xing was finally relieved and went to have breakfast with Xu Chen.
After they finished breakfast, Gu Xing escorted Xu Chen back to the girls' dormitory and then returned to room 202 with a beaming smile.
Upon entering the dormitory, he immediately felt a murderous aura. Yang Mian was already there, sitting on his bed, with Da Kai sitting next to him. Li Xu and Zhang Da were behind the door; as soon as he came in, they closed the door and stood guard at the entrance.
“We’ve already asked Yang Mian, what a load of rubbish! When you were in elementary school, there was no Xu Chen, and no one died. If anything, it was just that your homeroom teacher was driven to death by you.” Da Kai said, word by word.
Having no other choice, Gu Xing told Xu Chen everything from the moment he met him until he had just finished breakfast.
I'm in my dorm at night.
"Gu Xing, we've run out of laundry detergent. Go buy some more." Li Xu lay on the bed, looking at Gu Xing smugly.
"I bought it last time too," Gu Xing said, still feeling resentful.
Da Kai walked over, handed Gu Xing a receipt, and said, "Who told you to lie to us? Hurry up and go to any dry cleaner to get my leather coat back."
"The laundromat is so far away."
"It's not far. You can start going now and be back by six o'clock tomorrow." At this moment, Zhang Da came out of the bathroom, threw the magazine in his hand onto the bed, and said, "By the way, we're out of toilet paper. Buy some on your way back."
“You bunch of devils!” Gu Xing shouted at them.
Zhang Da walked over, looked at Gu Xing for a while, and took out a car key: "Go ride your bicycle, and come back quickly, I think I have an upset stomach."
Chapter Four: Cute and Terrifying
The bicycle creaked and groaned as Gu Xing sang a song from a movie: "The bright moon shines, the eerie wind blows through the willow alley, it's a female ghost..." With several bags hanging from one arm, he pedaled back to school.
"Luckily the door wasn't closed, damn it." Gu Xing put his body and belongings on the ground and rested.
"Hello." A girl's voice came from that moment.
Gu Xing looked up and saw Xu Chen standing in front of him, wearing a tank top and jeans, with his hands behind his back.
"Why do you walk so quietly?" Gu Xing glanced down at Xu Chen's feet and saw that she was wearing fluffy animal slippers.
Xu Chen then deliberately stretched one foot out in front of Gu Xing, indicating that he should see it clearly.
Gu Xing smiled and stepped aside, asking her, "Are you out for a walk so late? Aren't you afraid of running into bad people?"
“I’ve already run into one.” Xu Chen said, then turned around and started fiddling with Gu Xing’s bicycle.
Gu Xing walked over, got on his bicycle, and said to Xu Chen, "Do you need a ride?"
"Hmm," Xu Chen walked behind Gu Xing.
Gu Xing felt a sudden weight on the back seat and started pedaling forward. He hadn't gone five or six meters when a train suddenly came towards him. "Whoosh!" Gu Xing screamed in fright and jumped off the bicycle to the right. The train whistled loudly as it passed in front of Gu Xing and slowly disappeared into the campus.
Gu Xing calmed himself down and saw Xu Chen walking over from where he had been standing.
"Didn't you get on the bus?" Gu Xing sat on the ground and looked at Xu Chen who was walking over.
"I haven't even gotten on the bus yet, and you've already left. Are you alright? What's wrong with you?" Xu Chen asked, looking puzzled.
Gu Xing wanted to say that he saw the train coming, but if he said that, most people would think he was crazy, so he could only say that he lost his balance.
Xu Chen, of course, didn't believe it: "I saw you jump down!"
Gu Xing ignored what she said, picked up his bicycle, and said to Xu Chen, "Didn't you say you wanted a ride? Come on." He then got on his bike.
Xu Chen didn't think too much about it and sat on the back seat. Gu Xing confirmed that she was on the back seat and then pedaled forward, thinking that she wasn't too heavy.
The only sound on campus was the sound of Gu Xing riding his bicycle, with Xu Chen accompanying him. Gu Xing had already forgotten what had just happened, and at this moment he felt incredibly happy.
Gu Xing suddenly stopped the car. After a long while, he turned around affectionately and said, "Xu Chen, will you be my girlfriend?...Wow...!" Before Gu Xing could finish speaking, he screamed in fright. At that moment, Xu Chen's eyeballs were bulging and blood was flowing from his seven orifices.
Gu Xing immediately threw down his bicycle and took a few steps, but then heard Xu Chen's laughter behind him. Gu Xing turned around in fear and saw Xu Chen holding a mask in his hand, his face back to its cute appearance.
Xu Chen walked over, laughing "Ha...ha".
"Coward." Xu Chen pointed at Gu Xing and mocked, then shook the mask on his hand. "I was just trying to scare you."
Gu Xing was on the verge of a nervous breakdown because of the strange events of the past few days, the ghostly train incident, and Xu Chen's antics. He was just sitting on the ground, grinning foolishly at Xu Chen.
Xu Chen walked to his side, smiling sweetly at Gu Xing, "What did you say to me in the car just now?"
"I was just about to ask you... if you wanted to be my... " Gu Xing said as he stood up, his eyes meeting Xu Chen's, but he was too embarrassed to say it aloud.
Xu Chen suddenly pointed behind Gu Xing and said, "Look, Gu Xing, we've arrived at the library without us even realizing it."
Gu Xing was about to confess his feelings when she abruptly changed the subject. Helpless, he turned back to look in the direction she was pointing, and sure enough, it was the library.
"Let's go in and take a look," Xu Chen said, grabbing Gu Xing's hand and dragging him towards the school library.
"Don't open the door now." Gu Xing knew they had no chance of getting in, but then the door opened.
Xu Chen turned around innocently and said to Gu Xing, "What good luck, the door is open."
Gu Xing was stunned and hadn't even reacted before he was pulled inside. The smooth floorboards creaked under their feet. Xu Chen pulled Gu Xing all the way up the stairs to the second floor.
Xu Chen released Gu Xing and walked into the bookshelves. Gu Xing followed her and found her in a corner.
"Sorry, we wanted to go up to the rooftop to sit for a while. We apologize for disturbing you." Xu Chen was speaking to thin air in the corner.
Gu Xing stood not far away, staring wide-eyed at Xu Chen, his mind buzzing. He was at a loss for what to do.
"Thank you." Xu Chen thanked the corner again, then walked up to Gu Xing.
"Who...who are you talking to?" Gu Xing looked at Xu Chen with a look of panic.
"The librarian," Xu Chen answered innocently.
Gu Xing felt that this place was not suitable for lingering, so he didn't say anything, but took Xu Chen's hand and walked downstairs. Xu Chen struggled and insisted on going to the rooftop.
"You just saw a ghost," Gu Xing couldn't help but whisper to Xu Chen.
"Nonsense, if you're scared, then go by yourself." Xu Chen broke free from Gu Xing's hand and walked onto the rooftop.
"It's too dangerous to leave him here," Gu Xing thought, and followed after him.
Just as the two reached the rooftop, Gu Xing heard a loud "bang" downstairs, like the sound of a door closing.
"Did you hear that?" Gu Xing asked Xu Chen, his eyes wide open.
"Are you trying to scare me? I'm not afraid at all." Xu Chen said, then skipped and hopped to the railing.
The night sky was filled with stars. Xu Chen looked up at the sky, a gentle breeze brushing against her face. Gu Xing forgot his fear, walked to her side, and stared at her intently.
"Squeak... Cough... Crack..." Strange noises came from the stairwell, and Gu Xing's nerves tensed up again.
"What's wrong with you again?" Xu Chen noticed Gu Xing's frightened look at this moment.
"Did you hear that?" Gu Xing asked Xu Chen curiously again.
Xu Chen ignored him and looked up at the sky again, while Gu Xing kept staring at the stairs, cold sweat pouring down his face.
"Why don't we go back?" Gu Xing, whose eyes had been fixed on the direction from which the strange noise was coming, walked behind Xu Chen and asked her.
"What are you afraid of?" Xu Chen found Gu Xing's behavior strange and turned to look at him.
Gu Xing looked at Xu Chen in a panic and said, "Really, believe me, this place is so strange..." Before he could finish speaking, a woman was seen floating in the air behind Xu Chen.
Gu Xing didn't say anything more, staring straight at the woman. She had a sorrowful expression on her face, wore a long red dress, and was softly chanting that classic movie song: "Bright moon~~~~~~night exhales~~~~~~light, cold wind~~~~blows~~~~~~willow alley..."
Gu Xing was at a loss for what to do. Xu Chen looked in the direction he was staring at, then turned around and asked, "What are you looking at?"
Xu Chen looked confused. Gu Xing thought to himself, "Could it be my imagination?" Just then, Xu Chen said to Gu Xing, "Are you trying to scare me? Let me tell you, I'm not afraid of ghosts." She even made a face. Gu Xing looked at her with a wry smile. After making the face, Xu Chen didn't retract her tongue; instead, it stuck out all the way to the ground.
Gu Xing took a few steps back, pointed at Xu Chen, and stammered, "You... your tongue."
"Huh? What's wrong with my tongue?" Xu Chen just touched her mouth with her hand. Gu Xing took advantage of her inattention and stepped on her tongue, which was stuck back into Xu Chen's mouth. Xu Chen blinked her big eyes at Gu Xing as if nothing had happened.
Gu Xing slowly raised one hand, his current posture indicating—please stop for a moment.
"Maybe it's a hallucination, or maybe I'm seeing things. Even if it is, it doesn't mean Xu Chen would harm me. If those 'things' around me wanted to harm me, they would have done so already. There's no need to scare me. Anyway, don't be afraid of anything I see later. Just treat it as a hallucination." After closing his eyes and calming himself down, Gu Xing smiled and said to Xu Chen, "I'm fine. Let's continue looking at the stars."
"Hmm," Xu Chen responded, sticking out her tongue again. She pointed at the stars in the sky and kept asking Gu Xing if he knew what constellations they were. Her tongue was waving back and forth in front of Gu Xing. The woman in red also floated down in front of Gu Xing and sang.
Gu Xing thought to herself, "Hallucination, hallucination..." while hypnotizing herself, and randomly uttering some constellation names. Surprisingly, Xu Chen believed her, and she jumped up and down with joy, her tongue twitching even more vigorously.
Suddenly, Xu Chen retracted his tongue and said seriously to Gu Xing, "Do you know? Someone died here before."
When Gu Xing heard her bring up this topic, he felt miserable and could only console himself: She must be talking nonsense, she must be talking nonsense, she must be...
"I'm not making this up, it was a senior from the previous year who told me. The person who died was a woman, and I heard it was because of relationship problems." Xu Chen said this with great expression, afraid that Gu Xing wouldn't believe him.
Gu Xing listened to her while sweating profusely.
"I've seen photos of her when she was alive. She had long hair, really long, probably down to her waist..."
At this point, Gu Xing glanced at the woman floating in the air; her long hair reached just to her waist.
"His nose is a bit big..."
Gu Xing glanced at the woman again; her nose was also rather large.
There is a mole under the left eye...
Gu Xing couldn't help but glance at the woman again, and sure enough, she had a mole under her left eye.
"He died wearing white clothes..."
Gu Xing looked at the woman in red floating in the air and asked Xu Chen, "Is she wearing white?"
"Yes, I heard it was a white long dress. She jumped down from here to commit suicide. People who saw her body said that her white dress was stained bright red with blood."
After hearing this, Gu Xing's legs went weak. He leaned against the railing and looked down at the four-story building.
Xu Chen looked down as well and said, "It's not too high up here, but I heard that the woman was determined to die. She jumped headfirst, and her head hit the ground first. Her brain... I don't want to go on."
Gu Xing, with a mournful face, secretly watched the woman in the air. Suddenly, a dent appeared on the left side of the woman's head, her face was covered in blood, and some white stuff was stuck in her hair.
Gu Xing completely collapsed and sat on the ground. Xu Chen laughed loudly, pointed at Gu Xing, and said, "Are you scared?"
Now was not the time to be forceful, so Gu Xing nodded obediently. Xu Chen saw that Gu Xing was covered in sweat and looked weak, so he stopped laughing and asked him with concern, "Are you alright? Even if it's true, you don't need to be so afraid."
Gu Xing said angrily, "You didn't see it, of course you're not afraid."
"What did you see?" Xu Chen asked curiously.
Gu Xing's manly spirit emerged; he suddenly stood up, pointed at the woman in the air, and roared, "Her!"
