"Sister Xu Chen, play with me," the little girl said.

"Ignore her," Xu Chen told Gu Xing and the others, then led the way around the little girl and continued running up the stairs.

The others followed Xu Chen, ignoring the little girl, and ran up.

When I reached the corner of the third-floor staircase, I saw the girl again, standing in the stairwell just as she always had.

"Sister Xu Chen, play with me."

Gu Xing and the others stopped in their tracks in fright. Xu Chen shouted without turning his head, "Ignore her, run!"

"Okay," Gu Xing said, closing his eyes and rushing over. The others followed. But when they reached the corner of the fourth floor, the girl was still there.

At this moment, Xu Chen stopped, panting as he looked at the girl.

"Sister Xu Chen, play with me."

Gu Xing stared at Xu Chen in astonishment, his heart filled with a mixture of joy at their meeting, bewilderment at her actions, and surprise at Xu Chen's cold indifference.

Xu Chen didn't look at Gu Xing; he kept staring at the little girl below. The little girl lay on her back on the ground, motionless, her eyes wide open, looking as if she had died with her eyes open in disbelief.

Suddenly, the little girl jumped up, looked up at Xu Chen, her face contorted, and let out a sharp, piercing scream.

Normally, falling from the fifth floor would be fatal, even for an adult, leaving them crippled. Yet, the little girl jumped up as if nothing had happened and let out a strange cry. Everyone upstairs except Xu Chen was speechless with astonishment.

The little girl cried out for a while, then suddenly jumped up and pounced on Xu Chen, baring her teeth to bite him. Xu Chen seemed to have been prepared, grabbing her hair with one hand and choking her neck with the other, and the two twisted together.

The incident happened so strangely and suddenly that Gu Xing didn't know who to help. He let the two of them wrestle for a while until Xu Chen climbed onto the little girl's back. Only then did Gu Xing go over and try to separate them.

Xu Chen yelled, forbidding Gu Xing from coming any closer, then grabbed the little girl's hair and repeatedly slammed the back of her head against the ground.

The little girl, who had been angrily contorting her face to an unbelievable degree, now had her mouth wide open in an exaggeratedly twisted way as Xu Chen restrained her. She shouted and cursed at Xu Chen, her veins bulging, and like a ferocious beast, she stretched out her fingers and scratched Xu Chen's hand, leaving many bloody marks.

After a while, the little girl stopped resisting and let Xu Chen pull her head. Gu Xing and the others thought she was dead, so they rushed over to pull Xu Chen away. Just then, the little girl spoke.

"Sister Xu Chen, Mom is here."

Xu Chen didn't answer, but stopped holding her tightly, preventing her from escaping. The little girl laughed at this moment, though it was unclear what she was laughing at. Xu Chen looked at her calmly, then suddenly looked up at the door of the room.

The door opened.

The one who came in was Niu Erqing, holding a large hammer in his hand, chuckling, but his hair was completely singed.

"Niu Erqing, don't waste time. Aunt Qin is downstairs. Let's go down."

Niu Erqing looked at the little girl and said, "Let's take care of this guy first."

"You can't kill her, so go down first."

“I’m not leaving. Xu Chen, come back with us,” Gu Xing replied.

"No!" Gu Xing shouted, reaching out to pull Xu Chen's hand away. As soon as he touched Xu Chen's hand, Gu Xing felt something soft and slippery. Looking down, he saw a snake, its mouth open, devouring Gu Xing's palm.

Gu Xing was startled and instinctively retreated, losing his balance and falling to the ground. When Gu Xing looked at Xu Chen again from the ground, he found that the snake was gone, and only Xu Chen was coldly watching him.

"See?" Xu Chen said, "The people around me will always be affected, so I can't go back with you anymore, and you shouldn't follow me either. Go now."

"What are you planning to do?" Gu Xing asked, standing up.

"Uncle, I'll treat you to candy." The little girl's face suddenly changed; her previously terrifying face transformed into that of an adorable little girl.

Niu Erqing sneered, his knife already poised to plunge into the little girl's body. The little girl remained unfazed, pulling out a handful of candy and offering it to Niu Erqing.

"There will be no more candy to eat from now on, and we can rest in peace now. It's all over." Niu Erqing seemed to be reciting a eulogy, his hand holding the knife slightly backward, as if he wanted to stab the little girl's body.

Gu Xing, Da Kai, Yang Mian, and the others who were standing by couldn't bear to watch any longer. Da Kai and Gu Xing rushed over and knocked Niu Erqing aside with great force. The knife in Niu Erqing's hand was knocked away, and he let go of the little girl's hand. Yang Mian immediately rushed over and took the little girl away.

He looked down and saw the little girl grinning at him in an extremely terrifying way. The candy she had been holding was scattered all over the ground, revealing her little fingers, with a razor blade between them.

Yang Mian felt a chill run down his spine and straight to the back of his head. His scalp tingled. He looked at his hand and saw that he was holding a piece of candy and trembling. Blood was gushing from the artery in his wrist.

"Ah————————" Yang Mian cried out immediately. Zhang Da immediately saw Yang Mian's condition, tore off a piece of cloth from his clothes, and bandaged him up.

The little girl then ran to a corner, stood there with her back against the wall, and laughed "cheep...cheep".

Just then, the little girl used the same trick again, took out a razor blade, and slashed Niu Erqing's artery, causing blood to gush out.
