Nací bella y soy suprema - Capítulo 36

Capítulo 36

"Oh..." Yang Xin released his grip in disappointment. "Oh...you didn't commit suicide..."

“You’re the one who’s going to commit suicide!” The worker ignored him and continued welding the railing with a “hissing” sound, wearing a mask. The welding light was so bright that when he got back into the police car, his vision was still patchy with black and red marks, like patches on a screen.

He closed his eyes, and the patches continued to sway defiantly.

"He said I'm sick!" He honked the horn angrily. "I'm fucking sick!"

He opened his eyes, lit another cigarette, took two puffs, and then slumped over the steering wheel and burst into tears.

However, he didn't know why he was crying; he just wanted to cry, so he cried.

Just as she was crying her heart out, a shadow suddenly fell from the sky, and then a man fell in front of the car. It was the worker who was repairing the guardrail.

This was not an accident, it was suicide!

He stopped crying and busied himself with various tasks: investigating the scene, taking photos, calling an ambulance, and taking statements.

This is absolutely suicide.

Yang Xin was very happy, really.

The fact that someone committed suicide proves that the head of the suicide task force still has a purpose.

Yes, it definitely has its place.

Yang Xin smiled with satisfaction. Suddenly, a homeless man with a full beard jumped out of a trash can by the street, shouting, "I didn't kill this person! I know you're trying to frame me again!"

After the homeless man finished speaking, he turned and ran away. Yang Xin gave chase.

3.

The homeless wander through the city's streets and alleys like swordfish, seemingly familiar with every inconspicuous corner of the city.

If a flowerpot hadn't suddenly fallen from the balcony of the apartment building and hit him on the shoulder, Yang Xin would never have been able to catch up with him. Sweating profusely, Yang Xin handcuffed his wrists and gasped, "If you didn't kill him, why are you running?!"

"This is all a conspiracy! Someone is trying to frame me!" The homeless man rubbed his shoulder and looked up. "This flowerpot must have been planned in advance too!"

Yang Xin stared at his face, a mixture of amusement and exasperation in his eyes, his mouth agape: "Yu Wei! It's you again! Why are you still on the run?!"

"It's...it's you...that policeman...let me go! I know Ding Yan! Ding Yan! You know Ding Yan, right!"

"Don't mention that name to me again!" Yang Xin punched him viciously. "Never mention it again!"

Yu Wei looked at him with a puzzled expression, then glanced around anxiously, like a frightened trapped beast: "You...were you also bribed by them?"

Yang Xin looked at him helplessly, seeing the unease and despair in his eyes, and suddenly felt a deep sadness—sorrow for him, and sorrow for himself. At that moment, he desperately wanted to talk to someone, to have a good, heartfelt conversation. Perhaps, in this world, besides this mentally ill man, no one would listen to his ramblings.

"No one is chasing you, and no one is plotting to frame you. You really didn't know?"

“I know. I found out at my daughter’s funeral,” Yu Wei said calmly, his eyes still filled with unease.

"Then why do you keep running away? Wouldn't it be better to settle down and live a peaceful life?"

“No.” Yu Wei said firmly, “Escape is the meaning of my life. I have no right to settle down, absolutely no right. I have no right to live with a clear conscience after indirectly causing my daughter’s death and making my father bear the blame for murder. Only by escaping can I alleviate the guilt deep in my heart. Everything started because of my mental breakdown, so I should persevere. Otherwise, wouldn’t my father and daughter have died in vain?!”

This is a fallacy, but you can't refute it.

After Yu Wei finished speaking, his face immediately reverted to the expression of a mentally ill person: "Conspiracy! You made me tell all this, it must be part of a conspiracy! You devil! You liar!"

Yang Xin held him tightly: "I just want you to hear what I have to say. After you've heard it, I'll let you go."

"Then tell me! But no matter what you say, I won't believe you!"

"I...I might be laid off. Although no one has said it, I have a feeling. All the leaders and colleagues in the department hate me and are plotting to get rid of me...This isn't just wishful thinking; it's real. I can feel it. Because in the entire police station, I'm the most useless person, the least needed person!"

"So, someone else wants to harm you too?" Yu Wei's eyes widened. He hadn't realized there were others in the world who had suffered the same fate as him.

"It's not that someone wants to harm me, it's that they're already doing it; they've been taking action for a long time."

"So what are you going to do? Let's run away together!"

“Run away? No way!” Yang Xin shook his head. “If I leave, I’ll be playing right into their hands. They want me to leave. So, I must find a way to stay.” Yang Xin looked at Yu Wei, as if he were his only confidant, the only one who understood him: “To stay, I must prove my worth; to prove my worth, I must let them know I am useful, I am needed!”

"so what?"

"Therefore, people must keep committing suicide in order to prove my existence."

"But how can you control whether someone else commits suicide?"

“I definitely can! I will definitely find a way to make someone commit suicide,” Yang Xin said firmly. Then, his eyes filled with uncertainty. “Do you think what I’m doing is the right thing to do?”

“Yes!” Yu Wei nodded at him.

Sometimes when you ask others for advice, you don't really want opinions; you just want recognition and to give yourself confidence in your actions.

Although it's a bit self-deceptive, Yang Xin is now very confident and has strengthened his belief.

Seeing Ding Yan lose her temper, Wang Xiaofeng finally felt relieved. Her willingness to vent her anger clearly showed that she was slowly emerging from her grief.

The angrier she got, the happier he became.

"You bastard!" Ding Yan stood on the sofa, holding a mirror in her hand. "Why did you have to smash that vase over my head? It's all smeared my face! How am I supposed to face anyone now?!" Ding Yan pointed to a long scar on her right cheek.

"You finally noticed you're disfigured..." Wang Xiaofeng said happily, "That wasn't easy..."

"I saw it a long time ago! I just didn't pay attention to it before!"

"I'm so happy that you care now..."

"Stop gloating!" Ding Yan squatted on the sofa, looking in the mirror. "What to do... what to do..."

“I think it’s great. This scar goes up from the corner of your mouth, making you look like you’re always smiling, or even a wicked smile, which has a unique charm!” Wang Xiaofeng sat down and gently stroked her hair.

"What nonsense!" Ding Yan pushed away his grinning face, crossed his legs, and continued to frown at himself in the mirror.

"By the way, Ding Yan, have you taken on any suicide-related projects lately?"

"No... Old You and the others are all gone... I don't want to do things from the past anymore, lest I be reminded of those painful memories..."

“That’s strange. There have been a lot of suicides at the hospital lately.” Wang Xiaofeng frowned. “I’ve seen Yang Xin bring suicide victims to the hospital several times…”

"I don't want to hear that name again!" Ding Yan lowered his head.

Wang Xiaofeng sighed. Did he not want to hear it because he still cared a lot?

"Are there other suicide counseling companies?" Ding Yan put down the mirror and looked at Wang Xiaofeng.

Wang Xiaofeng shook his head: "It doesn't seem like it... because the methods of suicide are very monotonous. It seems that all suicide victims like to jump off overpasses and get hit by cars and smashed to pieces."

"I see..." Ding Yan tossed his hair: "Who cares! Let whoever wants to die die!"

Wang Xiaofeng smiled and suddenly said, "Thank you, Ding Yan."

"Why are you thanking me?" Ding Yan was completely bewildered. Then, as if she had just realized something, she immediately said aggressively, "You live in my apartment, but I still have to charge you rent! However, you insisted on renovating it yourself, so I'm not going to pay for it! Besides that, what else do you want to thank me for?!"

Wang Xiaofeng smiled even more broadly: "Thank you."

Are you crazy?

“I’m sick!” Wang Xiaofeng laughed as he lay on the sofa, pointing to his heart. “I was sick here. You cured me. Before I was with you, this part of me was empty. I felt nothing—hunger, pain, happiness or unhappiness. Every day, I only felt alive when…” He hesitated, then continued, “…” He looked at him tenderly, “Now, because of you, I realize that being alive is so wonderful!”

"Tch!" Ding Yan stood up. "Stop being such a peacock! That's just wishful thinking!"

"I'm willing to love you unconditionally, as long as I can stay by your side!"

"So cheesy!" Ding Yan took a carton of blood yogurt from the refrigerator. "I don't have time to be cheesy with you! I've given up Very Consulting, I need to find a new dream, a new meaning to life, as soon as possible."

5.

Doctors are professionals at saving lives, but they can also be very professional at killing people.

Police officers are professionals at solving crimes, but they are often very professional when they commit crimes.

Yang Xin was very professional. He quietly loosened the screws on the railing of the overpass and began to wait for someone to casually lean against the railing. His chance to make a contribution would come as soon as someone did so.

At first, he felt uneasy, fearful, and guilty when he did these things. But after doing them many times, everything became so natural and justifiable.

Every living person has to find a way to prove their worth, right? There has to be something to live for, doesn't there?

6.

“It feels like…I am God.” Ding Yan gently drew the last stroke on “Old Postman’s” face, then smiled at Wang Xiaofeng.

"What a blatant foreign worship. Why does it have to be like God? The one who sculpted people from clay was Nuwa, wasn't she?" Wang Xiaofeng put a corpse sculpture into a special box and labeled it.

"I'm not sculpting clay, I'm sculpting human flesh!" She placed the old postman's corpse sculpture behind the curtains, then cheerfully ran to the kitchen, watching "Aunt Mei" making soup. "Now it's time to make rice, millet, and the other ingredients! Hey! Have you found a suitable corpse yet?"

"Well, we should have the rice one. Last night, a man who jumped off a bridge and committed suicide died at the hospital. Although he's not as handsome as rice, it doesn't matter. His face is already smashed, so we can just sculpt him in rice's likeness."

"Hmm! That's good! These days, suicides are so boring, why do they all have to jump off overpasses?" Ding Yan pouted. "I suddenly miss the days when I did suicide counseling..."

"Want to go back to your old ways?"

Ding Yan shook his head: "It's better to do corpse modeling. When I'm doing suicide counseling, I feel like I'm the Grim Reaper. But when I'm doing corpse modeling, I feel like I'm God. Am I weird?"

"Who in this world isn't a pervert?" Wang Xiaofeng stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, watching Yang Xin's police car speed past.

It seems there are more corpses.
