Chapitre 14

Su Jinning glanced at him again but said nothing more. He whistled, "Stop looking and run!" Then he turned and led his classmates to run again.

Shen Moyu released her arms, managed a weak smile, and said to the two boys, "Thank you, I'm fine."

Seeing that Shen Moyu was determined to run away, the two boys didn't say anything, exchanged a glance, and moved to their own positions.

It wasn't until she was about to reach the fourth lap that Shen Moyu realized the seriousness of the situation.

His vision was becoming increasingly blurry, and his stomach was churning as if he wanted to vomit. He even felt powerless, as if his feet were in outer space. At first, he could hold on, but now he was gradually falling behind the group.

I haven't been sleeping well for the past two days because of work. I work during the day and study and do homework at night, so it's hard to keep up.

He hadn't had a hypoglycemic episode for a while, so the sudden onset of such a severe case caught him completely off guard.

With one lap left, Su Jinning habitually turned around to check on those who had fallen behind, but inadvertently caught sight of Shen Moyu, who was already severely exhausted.

He looked as wilted as a withered rose, his cheeks pale and his lips dry and colorless; his condition certainly did not look good.

But the team couldn't stop. Su Jinning clicked her tongue in frustration and grabbed Chen Hang next to her, saying hurriedly, "You lead the class and run first."

"Then where are you going?" Chen Hang was confused, but Su Jinning didn't answer him. She ran straight to the back of the group and grabbed Shen Moyu, who was running unsteadily: "Stop running."

Shen Moyu barely had the strength to speak. He opened his eyes, glanced at him indifferently, and gasped for breath, saying, "What are you doing here?"

Su Jinning ignored his usual phrases for rejecting others and put her hand on his shoulder: "Let me help you to a bench to rest."

"It's okay, I can manage on my own." Shen Moyu regained some strength, tried to stand up straight, licked her dry lips, and gently pushed him away, as if determined to isolate herself from the world.

"What can you do if you can't even stand up straight?" Su Jinning was furious, glancing at Shen Moyu, who couldn't even stand properly, with a headache.

Shen Moyu glanced at the classmates who kept glancing their way, his gaze seemingly trying to pierce through them. He sighed, "You don't need to worry about me, lest they misunderstand something again."

Su Jinning seemed startled by his words, and the fingers that had been on his shoulder trembled involuntarily.

He lowered his head and licked his lips, his eyes turning cold: "Are you afraid of rumors?"

His tone was gentle, but his words carried a questioning undertone. Shen Moyu didn't understand his seemingly angry gaze and took a step back in annoyance: "Do whatever you want."

Su Jinning raised an eyebrow at him and let out a cold snort: "Fine, then I have no objection."

Sensing Shen Moyu's aloof and unapproachable aura, Su Jinning felt a surge of anger.

The way he was so busy making excuses just now made it seem like he was trying to distance himself from him. Perhaps Shen Moyu would have thanked anyone else, but it seemed that as long as it was him, Shen Moyu wouldn't even glance at him.

Who cares about you? Do you think I'm free to bother?

He stared at Shen Moyu's weak back, then turned around and followed the group without lingering any longer.

Watching him run away, Shen Moyu then used the nearby street lamp to move to the outside of the track.

He felt nauseous and wanted to find a secluded place to rest for a while. The feeling of low blood sugar was agonizing; even though he was used to it, it could still be unbearable when it got severe occasionally.

With each step he took, his legs grew weaker, and Shen Moyu finally realized the consequences of refusing all help.

Large beads of sweat continued to drip from his forehead, and the heat that flowed down his cheeks made Shen Moyu feel uncomfortable.

He breathed in the unfriendly, cold air deeply, shifting all his weight onto his legs.

"Damn it..." he muttered weakly to himself.

Unexpectedly, his legs went weak and he immediately lost consciousness.

Su Jinning cursed and then ran back like a madwoman, followed closely by most of the students from Class 8.

"Shen Moyu, how are you?" Su Jinning anxiously touched the back of Shen Moyu's head. Fortunately, he had fallen on the grass and hadn't broken any bones.

"Oh my god, she fainted?"

"Didn't you say it was a case of low blood sugar?"

The cacophony of voices disrupted Su Jinning's thoughts. She had never encountered anything like this before and was somewhat startled.

"Chen Hang, call the school doctor and tell her to come to the infirmary right away!"

"Okay!"

"Damn it." Su Jinning's face turned pale. She tightened her arms and picked up Shen Moyu, who was as light as a feather, and stood up.

"Waaaaahh ...

"What an incredible plot!"

"He actually hugged me, damn it!"

Amidst the commotion, Su Jinning became completely enraged and yelled at the tightly packed crowd, "Are you a bunch of idiots?! Get out of the way!"

Like a sharp blade slicing through the noise, the whole world seemed to fall silent after that sound.

His already stern face now carried a hint of solemnity as he walked straight through the crowd and ran quickly toward the fourth-floor infirmary.

——

The campus was much quieter after school. Apart from the occasional noise from the senior high school buildings, the entire campus lay peacefully in the afterglow of the evening.

The infirmary was unusually quiet.

Su Jinning sighed deeply, then slumped onto the sofa by the bed. Recalling everything that had happened since meeting Shen Moyu, he suddenly exclaimed, "Am I owing you something?"

The only response he received was Shen Moyu's even breathing.

Su Jinning looked helplessly at Shen Moyu's sleeping face and suddenly remembered the description of Shen Moyu in that fanfiction.

It seems he was lying on the hospital bed just like that, his tightly closed eyes concealing his usual coldness, leaving only his thick, long eyelashes with gentle curves. His fair skin accentuated his moist lips, and his cheeks, which had just regained color, were faintly flushed, like a sleeping boy in an oil painting.

Depend on……

Su Jinning was stunned. Damn it, how did I memorize this?

He rubbed his face, then touched the boxed lunch he had bought downstairs. It was no longer very warm. He frowned, thinking of going downstairs to get some hot water to scald it.

The door opened suddenly, and Shen Moyu, who had just woken up, turned around blankly, just in time to meet Su Jinning's bewildered gaze.

Then Su Jinning put down the lunchbox and walked to Shen Moyu's bedside to ask how he was doing. "Are you alright?"

Shen Moyu replied hoarsely, "I... am fine."
