Chapitre 79

Shen Moyu was stunned for a moment.

If it really was that spirited young man who hugged me yesterday without my knowledge, then... it's not so bad.

"What are you daydreaming about, you genius?" Before anyone knew it, Su Jinning had pulled up a chair and sat down next to Shen Moyu, casually crossing her legs. Seeing him standing there in a daze, she reached out and patted Shen Moyu.

"Ah, it's nothing, I just think you look a little ugly today." Shen Moyu said sarcastically, revealing an expression that said, "I'm telling the truth." This caused the surrounding classmates to burst into laughter.

"You're the first person to dare say Ning-ge is ugly! Hahahaha!" Chen Hang laughed so hard he couldn't straighten up, barely managing to stand up by supporting himself on the table with his arms.

Su Jinning's face darkened, and she nudged Shen Moyu with her elbow, her phoenix eyes narrowing: "You're a bit rebellious."

Shen Moyu chuckled a few times and continued to tease him, "Is your hair a bird's nest? You big school bully?"

"This masterpiece and hairstyle, no one but Brother Ning could pull it off." Song Wenmiao gave him a thumbs up as if admiring him.

"You're asking for it!" Su Jinning grabbed her backpack and chased after Song Wenmiao. She shouted as she ran, "I can't hit the top student, but I can hit you?"

Song Wenmiao, who was being chased around by Su Jinning, couldn't help but complain: "What? My words were tactful enough! Why didn't the top student just say you're ugly!"

"Hahahaha!" Laughter rose and fell around them.

"I fucking hate you!" Su Jinning stretched out her long arm and bumped into Song Wenmiao's hoodie hood, then simply pulled him over.

Shen Moyu's table was knocked askew by the two of them, but he wasn't annoyed at all. He watched the two of them bickering with a smile, listening to the bursts of laughter from his friends around him.

Suddenly, I felt that it would be nice if time could stop at this moment.

"Hey! What are you doing, playing tag in the classroom? There's not enough room for you two to keep up." Jin Shuoshuo's somewhat shrill voice rang out from outside the door.

"Teacher!" Song Wenmiao slammed on the brakes but couldn't stop in time and fell to the ground with a "bang".

The surrounding area erupted in cheers again, and Chen Hang laughed so hard he fell off the stool, yelping in pain.

Song Wenmiao had just gotten up when she saw Chen Hang, who had fallen flat on his face. Before she could even look at her own sore knee, she started pointing at Chen Hang and cursing again.

"What goes around comes around, and no one escapes the wrath of Heaven!" Song Wenmiao said, hands on his hips.

Jin Shuoshuo sighed and rubbed her forehead in exasperation. The laughter continued for a while before Jin Shuoshuo finally patted the podium, her smile still lingering, looking somewhat gentle: "Alright, alright, enough fooling around, go back to your seats!" She allowed her students to joke around like this occasionally, as she felt it was a way for everyone to relax, so as long as it wasn't during class or went too far, she would sometimes join in.

Su Jinning laughed until tears almost came out. He wiped his eyes, glanced at Shen Moyu, who also had a smile on his face, and said in a slightly irritating way, "Tsk tsk tsk, the aloof academic genius has finally been assimilated by us." In his mind, he secretly compared the now cheerful and active Shen Moyu with the aloof and unapproachable Shen Moyu of the past.

As expected, he saved a child who had lived for seventeen years but never smiled.

"Come on, go back now." Shen Moyu smiled and glanced at him, then naturally took out her English textbook.

Su Jinning smiled in unison and prepared to leave.

"Hey, you look really handsome today."

Amidst the cacophony of recitations, Shen Moyu's voice seemed filtered through Su Jinning's ears, audible with exceptional clarity.

He turned around and only saw a smug-looking back of a head.

Su Jinning smiled helplessly.

Damn, I've been played for again.

——

Perhaps summer is really getting closer, because the temperature today is unusually high. In mid-April, it has already reached 20 degrees Celsius in Shanghai. Students who were still wearing long sleeves and pants are suffering today. Everyone is trying to roll up their sleeves to their necks, but even so, they can't stand the heat.

"Damn, it's so hot! Let's go, Ning-ge, let's go eat." The lunch break bell rang, and Chen Hang shook his collar, trying to get some cool air in. His face was contorted from the heat.

Su Jinning fanned himself with the book cover, looking quite hot. He glanced at the blazing sun high in the sky outside the window and sighed. Su Jinning casually ruffled his hair, walked over to Shen Moyu who was still studying, and then tapped on the table.

Shen Moyu looked up and met Su Jinning's somewhat impatient gaze. Realizing that it was probably lunchtime and she had come to call him, he put away his textbooks and asked, "It's so hot, where should we eat?"

"I don't know." Su Jinning's voice was a little irritated. He could only withstand the cold but not the heat. Every summer, he wouldn't feel like he hadn't experienced the summer if he didn't get heatstroke once or twice. This time, the heat made his scalp tingle, and he was too lazy to even speak.

Shen Moyu noticed he was behaving a bit strangely, perhaps because of the heat, so she didn't argue with him. She rolled her eyes and went to ask Chen Hang, "What do you want to eat?"

Chen Hang scrolled through his phone: "Hey, if all else fails, let's order takeout. It's fucking too hot! Going to restaurants and such will be so crowded, we'll die of heatstroke."

“Doesn’t the school forbid ordering takeout?” Shen Moyu thought Chen Hang was right, but he suddenly remembered Jin Shuoshuo’s warning on the first day of school: if they were caught, they would be severely punished.

Su Jinning remained silent, seemingly giving Chen Hang the power of decision for the first time ever, and quietly fanned herself.

"The school is sick. They let students eat out but not order takeout. It's so confusing," Chen Hang complained. But it's true, the school allows students to eat out at noon and in the afternoon, but they don't allow them to order takeout, without even giving a reason.

Shen Moyu hesitated for a moment, but with such a bright sun, and because of the large temperature difference between day and night, he wasn't wearing short sleeves and might get sunburned if he went out.

Gu Junxiao pulled out his chair and got up from his seat. He walked over and looked at Su Jinning, who was sullen from the heat, and said with a smile, "It's okay. It's on the side of the sports building, next to the vocational high school wall. It's very low. You can just climb over and get it. There are no security cameras." Gu Junxiao looked at Shen Moyu with certainty.

Shen Moyu ignored him, turned her gaze away somewhat awkwardly, and said, "Then let's order takeout. I don't want to squeeze into the cafeteria."

After being silent for a while, Su Jinning finally spoke, though his voice still carried a hint of irritation: "Whatever, just give me a bowl of spicy hot pot, and a bottle of cola." He fanned himself vigorously, even blowing some of Gu Junxiao's hair around him.

Shen Moyu thought for a long time but couldn't come up with anything to eat until Chen Hang asked, "Top student, what do you want to order?"

"Ah, the same as Su Jinning's will be fine." Shen Moyu really didn't know what to eat, so she naturally said that she wanted the same thing as Su Jinning.

It's like a habit.

"What about drinks?" Chen Hang asked again.

"Mineral water, don't let him drink anything too sweet since his throat isn't better. Also, remember to note that he prefers milder flavors for the spicy hot pot." Su Jinning answered for Shen Moyu as naturally as an old father, and even gave him a series of special instructions.

Shen Moyu turned around in surprise to look at Su Jinning, who was still fanning himself vigorously. He shook his head with a smile. He himself couldn't even remember having a sore throat, but this guy still remembered. He had actually wanted to say "just like Su Jinning" back then.

Shen Moyu lowered his head and smiled, barely managing to be moved.

Gu Junxiao walked over to Chen Hang and said, "I'll order a seaweed rice roll; it'll be enough for me."

"Alright!" Chen Hang put down his phone as if he had completed a major project and stretched.

During the long wait, people came and went in the classroom. The occasional whispers from the girls added a touch of color to the quiet classroom, which was filled only with the aroma of food. Sunlight streamed through the glass windows and evenly illuminated every corner of the classroom, making the dust particles in the air float clearly in the beams of light.

The lazy afternoon was a bit dull, but also a bit wonderful.

"It's delivered! Let's go!" Chen Hang jumped off the table, his face clearly saying, "I'm hungry."
