A chilling wind blows, a ghostly aura pervades, the red spider lilies bloom, and a lone figure sits in the underworld.

The First Episode of the Mido Paranormal Events

My name is Mido. Of course, this isn't my real name. It's just that the stories I'm about to tell are based on verifiable facts, so I have to use a pseudonym to prevent my friends from being shocked when they read them and then blacklisting me.

In reality, most people in this world can see some paranormal phenomena, but as they grow older, vanity, jealousy, arrogance, and other factors cloud their minds, preventing them from seeing them. What cannot be seen, of course, does not exist. They begin to doubt, question, and begin to believe that there is no such thing as a "ghost" in this world. Although, that thing still exists around us.

There are exceptions like me. Those strange figures haven't faded or disappeared with my age. Instead, through 19 years of experience, I've come to understand them even better.

My first memory of paranormal phenomena was when I was six years old. (I don't remember anything before that.)

At that time, my family lived outside Zigui County. My grandmother lived in the county town. There was only a 15-minute mountain path between the two houses.

Every Sunday, I would go to my grandma's house by myself to play all day, and then go home after dinner. I always made sure to get home before dark.

But that day, Grandma's dinner was cooked a little late, and by the time I finished eating, it was already dark. Grandma wanted to take me home, but I thought I was an adult now and didn't need to be taken around like a little kid. (Kids always like to prove they've grown up through all sorts of silly things; I'm sure everyone has had similar experiences :)) So, while Grandma was getting the flashlight, I ran off in a flash.

I ran out of town in one breath and stood on a dirt slope, panting. I figured Grandma couldn't possibly catch me, and I couldn't help but feel smug about my clever escape. A gust of wind blew by, and I shivered, feeling more alert. Looking at the dark mountain road ahead, I began to regret my decision. Those little trees by the roadside, they looked perfectly fine during the day, so why did they exude such a sinister and ominous atmosphere at night?

The clear moonlight veiled the mountain path. I gritted my teeth and jogged forward. As I rounded a bend, I saw a woman ahead.

Great, I have someone to keep me company now.

That was my first thought. So I quickened my pace a few more steps, and was about 5 meters away from the woman. At that moment, I realized that the woman in front of me was my grandmother's neighbor, whom I always called "Fourth Aunt".

My fourth aunt is usually very kind to me, sometimes giving me little snacks like candied dates. But she was seriously ill last year and has been bedridden at home ever since, so I haven't seen her in a long time. One day I overheard my grandmother telling someone, "My fourth aunt probably won't make it through autumn."

Grandma always lies, but isn't Auntie doing just fine now?

"Fourth Aunt!" I called out, quickening my pace until I was only half a meter away from her.

My aunt swayed and stopped, and I quickly stopped as well.

"Fourth Aunt!" I called out again, my face beaming with smiles.

My fourth aunt slowly turned around, then lowered her head and stared at me intently. The moonlight cast a pale halo on her face. Her expression was strange, or rather, expressionless. I couldn't help but take a small step back.

"Fourth Aunt?"

"Duoduo, it's you." Aunt Si's voice sounded different than usual. It was weak and listless, almost ethereal. I froze, unsure of what to say. The atmosphere around us began to feel strange.

"Duoduo, don't go any further, go back quickly." Fourth Aunt stared at me and uttered these words one by one.

"I, I,----" I was so frightened that I backed away, unable to utter a complete sentence.

"Duoduo, don't go any further, go back quickly." Fourth Aunt retreated in a strange manner; I had never seen anyone walk like that before, it was like she was floating!

"Duoduo, don't go any further, go back quickly." Fourth Aunt retreated further and further away, her voice becoming increasingly faint. I finally couldn't help but shout and turned to run. I hadn't run more than a few steps when I bumped into something hard and passed out.

When I woke up, I saw my mother with tears streaming down her face, and I was safely at home.

Later I learned that my fourth aunt had passed away before I got home that day. I also learned that my grandmother was worried and went to my house to check if I had arrived home safely, but she encountered my father, who was looking for me, on the way. They were frantic and searched everywhere for me, finally finding me unconscious near our famous "Cliff of Forgetfulness". I was only seven steps away from the edge of the cliff!

Later, I went to my fourth aunt's grave and kowtowed to thank her for saving my life.

My father forbade me to tell anyone about this, and he also forbade me to ask about it again.

Although I stopped asking, I always felt a lump in my throat.

A year later, we moved to the city where I live now.

The reason for moving was because of me.

My friends always found the way I walked strange. Finally, one day, they asked, "Hey, Duoduo, there aren't any stones on the road, why are you walking around them?"

"There's an uncle standing there! Didn't you see him?" I asked truthfully.

A year later, on the anniversary of their son's death, the couple watched the V8 to ease their grief.

A couple often argued. One day, they got into another argument over household finances... The argument got so heated that the husband grabbed a fruit knife in a fit of rage and accidentally killed his wife.

The husband secretly buried his wife's body, and fearing that his children would ask about their mother's whereabouts when they came home, he racked his brains to come up with a story.

However, the first day passed, the second day passed... and so on until the sixth day, the child didn't ask about his mother. He found it strange and finally couldn't help but ask the child: "You haven't seen your mother for so many days, don't you miss her? Why don't you ask where your mother went?"

Unexpectedly, the child looked at his father with a puzzled expression and said, "No!...It's just so strange! Daddy, why do you keep carrying Mommy on your back?"

Reply [5]: The Haunted Unit 9

At the beginning of the story, I'd like to introduce the background.

I'm from Chongqing. Those familiar with Chongqing know it's a mountain city, surrounded by two rivers (the Yangtze and the Jialing River). In Chongqing, the building where a work unit is located is called a "unit," for example, "Unit 1" refers to the first building built in that unit's premises. The story mentions nine...

The building was constructed near the Jialing River. To be precise, it was built on a cliff edge near the river. To prevent accidents, a long wall was built around the building. However, the cleaning staff were lazy and, for convenience, made a hole in the wall. Every morning, the garbage collected from the residents of Unit 9 was simply thrown through this hole down the cliff. The garbage went untreated, and no one cared, figuring it would be washed away when the water rose. (This is one reason why Chongqing was rated as a dirty, chaotic, and poor city.) Until one day, a life was lost…

The tragedy occurred at 5:30 in the morning. An elderly woman passing by fell into the hole and died. Her family was naturally devastated, but a subsequent autopsy confirmed it was an accident, so they had no choice but to accept their misfortune. The cleaning worker was fired from her job.

The hole was sealed with cement. But a few days later, another hole of the same size appeared where the cement had been applied! Then, a mangled body was found at the bottom of the cliff by the river. This alarmed the factory's security department, and people were speculating about who could have done such a thing! But the residents of Unit 9 said they hadn't seen anyone do it; some even saw the wall intact before going to bed, and the next day… Everyone said the same thing, and the investigation yielded no results. Thus, the incident became a mystery in Unit 9. The hole was sealed again, of course. But a month later, the hole reappeared! This damned hole kept appearing and disappearing, and strange deaths kept happening… I won't go into details, but in just five months, four people fell to their deaths from there. Thus, that wall became the most terrifying place in the minds of the residents of Unit 9. The fear persisted until the fifth person who was about to be victimized appeared. He survived with the help of others and also uncovered the secret. But the truth is far more terrifying than the mystery suggests.

The incident occurred late one summer night. It took place in a family living on the second floor of unit nine. The head of the household was a widow surnamed Zhang, who lived with her six-year-old son, Xiaoqiang; the two depended on each other for survival. It was probably around four in the morning when...

Qiang suddenly jumped out of bed and woke Zhang the widow. "Mom, I need to use the restroom!" the boy shouted. Zhang the widow was annoyed that her son had disturbed her sleep and said irritably, "Go ahead!" before turning back to sleep. But she was still concerned for her son. "Why isn't he done yet?" she wondered groggily. So she called out, "Qiang!" There was no answer. She got out of bed to look for her son, but the bathroom was empty, and her son wasn't in the room at all! The door was open, and her son's sandals were lying by the door. "Qiang went out, without even putting on his shoes!" Zhang the widow thought, a sense of unease creeping into her heart. Just then, she heard a strange sound coming from downstairs, "Thump...thump...thump..." The sound wasn't loud, but it was still clearly audible in the quiet night. It sounded like something heavy was being struck. Widow Zhang suddenly remembered that damned wall, and couldn't help but shudder. She scrambled downstairs and looked towards the distant wall… What she saw there was a scene she would never forget—Xiao Qiang was holding a brick, frantically pounding it against the wall. "Thump," then another, the movements slow but powerful; a small hole had already been punched through it, big enough for a small child to crawl through. Widow Zhang rushed towards her son like a madwoman. She stumbled and fell to the ground. Xiao Qiang dropped the brick, sticking out his left hand and half his head… Desperate to save her son, Widow Zhang scrambled to her feet and…

She rushed to the wall, grabbed her son's right leg, and cried out, "Xiaoqiang, what's wrong? Xiaoqiang!"

Xiaoqiang's strength suddenly became unusually great as he desperately tried to burrow out, letting out a terrifying low growl: "Ugh...waa..." He dragged his mother's body forward slowly... Widow Zhang's mind went blank; she gripped her son's feet tightly! ...

The noise woke up the residents of the same building. Several men rushed down, some grabbing his hands, others carrying him around the waist, and with the combined strength of several people, they managed to drag the child back. Widow Zhang slapped her son hard across the face, then hugged him tightly and burst into tears.

"My goodness! What's wrong with you? You scared me to death!" Xiaoqiang opened his eyes, looking around in confusion, as if he didn't understand how he got there. "You silly child! What are you doing in the middle of the night? Tell your uncle!" a man beside him spoke. Xiaoqiang slowly said in a childish voice, "There's an old lady downstairs who asked me to go down and play with her."...

...

The next day, the mother and son moved out of Unit 9, leaving that haunted place forever.

Reply [6]: A strange thing that happened during the National Day holiday

During the National Day holiday, I took some friends back to my hometown in China for a vacation. We stayed for a few days, playing cards and eating and drinking every day, and had a great time. But one time, we went to a fishing village by the sea and stayed there overnight. I had brought a lantern with me, so I suggested we light a bonfire on the beach that night. So, eight of us (four couples) went with the lantern. The path to the beach wasn't lit, and I wasn't familiar with it. Plus, the weather was bad that day—gloomy and windy. My girlfriend and I walked ahead, carrying the lantern, with my friends following closely behind. We were all joking around, but my girlfriend held my hand tightly, saying she was scared. I didn't mind at all. After walking for a while, she suddenly grabbed me and said, "Look over there, what's that?" She pointed to the bushes by the roadside. I only saw a plastic bag blown onto the grass by the wind, and I said, "It's nothing, just a plastic bag." My girlfriend didn't say anything more. Later, we reached a fork in the road. The right path led to the beach, and there was a Taishan stone guardian at the intersection. My girlfriend said she was scared and didn't want to go. Seeing how scared she was, I couldn't bear to let her go. The other girls were also a little scared, so we suggested going back to play cards. So we all turned back.

My girlfriend held my hand tightly the whole way without saying a word. Another girl said the place was definitely unclean, and she was also terrified, breaking out in a cold sweat. When we got back to the town, I bought some pearl powder to calm my nerves. At the hotel, my girlfriend told me she was really scared. She thought she initially saw an old woman cutting grass in the bushes, but when she pulled me to look, it was just a plastic bag. As we approached the beach, she felt extremely frightened; she felt the road led to a graveyard.

The next day we went to the beach. We walked along the same road as last night, about a hundred meters, and there was a graveyard overgrown with withered grass on the left side of the road.
