Kapitel 3

"It's no longer poisonous, and this poison is useless against distemper dogs! You've got to pretend!"

"Bite him to death, preferably tear his face to shreds! I've been annoyed by people who are more handsome than me for a long time!"

"How many new streamers have been bitten to death by plague dogs? They're all the type who have ambitions that are too high!"

"Damn it, I got scammed out of my points! Someone just placed a bet, and I actually bet on them to clear the level!"

The laughter in the comments section didn't even last a few seconds before they fell silent again.

Lu Shi knew very well that even if he won a fight with a ferocious dog, he would be seriously injured, which was not worth it.

As an unconventional demon lord, he enjoys keeping pets. Not demons, nor children, but cats, dogs, and even chickens and ducks.

Pet blogger Lu Shi knows very well that no matter how fierce a dog is, as long as you feed it, you are its owner.

The moment the plague dog opened its mouth, Lu Shi swiftly lifted the prison guard's corpse and brought it to its mouth.

As expected, the plague dog didn't care whether it was charity or not, and took a bite without hesitation.

"Wow—" It smells so good!

After several large bites of meat, the distemper dog's shrunken tail began to wag slightly.

"Sit down," Lu Shi commanded softly.

The plague dog, which had been so ferocious just moments before, actually sat down obediently.

"I misunderstood you." Lu Shi didn't find the plague dog's appearance repulsive at all, and even reached out to pat its head from a distance: "So you were so fierce just because you were too hungry. Eat up, this is all yours."

"Woo woo woo..." The plague dog looked at Lu Shi with emotion.

The live stream chat exploded. While they had seen prison guards killed before, the operation of training plague dogs was simply unprecedented!

A note from the author:

Thank you so much for your support! I will continue to work hard!

Chapter 3

☪ Plague Prison

Lu Shi raised his head and looked at the non-existent audience at a 45-degree angle. At his feet lay a plague dog, its bulging belly exposed.

"Obviously, although it looks a bit fierce, it's still a well-behaved dog as long as we meet its needs. So let's not judge a book by its cover."

The popularity of the live stream was like a roller coaster, plummeting to a low point before rebounding and reaching over a thousand viewers.

More and more people entered the newlyweds' hall and stared at the small, gleaming television in the center.

This group of viewers included not only those just watching for the spectacle, but also several well-known streamers whose names are on the leaderboards.

The reason is simple: the newcomer's live stream has garnered over 10,000 views and over 1,000 viewers, an achievement that none of the current top three players on the leaderboard have reached.

And yet, an unknown newcomer did just that, making people really want to come in and see what kind of prodigy he is.

"Sister Hong, what are you doing here?" A winged man with an ugly appearance, resembling a monster, walked over. He reeked of a sewer stench, causing anyone who smelled him to retreat immediately.

He's a top 100 streamer, a disgusting person.

“Buying stocks,” Red Spider sneered, “But you, who never pay attention to newcomers, why are you joining in the fun?”

"I heard this newcomer is very handsome." The stinky man slowly rolled his eyes, and after landing on Lu Shi's face, he made a drooling sound: "He is indeed good-looking. It wouldn't be bad if I could make him my slave."

"Aren't you curious about the plague dog at his feet? He tamed it just like that," Red Spider retorted.

"Not curious." The stinky man scoffed. "I'm not very bright. I've already followed his livestream, and I'll show up when he's about to die."

As soon as he finished speaking, the stinking man vanished instantly, leaving only his lingering scent in the air.

However, this little incident did not affect the discussion among ordinary viewers. Many of them were so enthusiastic that they exchanged the points they had painstakingly saved for gifts to give to Lu Shi.

"Is the streamer a dog trainer? He's gentle and professional. Can I leave you a code word so we can meet up offline?"

"Oh my god, have I been in this crappy game for too long and my aesthetic sense has become homogenized? I actually think the Plague Dogs are kind of cute!"

"Sigh, back then, this dog bit my face so badly it was mangled, but thankfully I survived thanks to my willpower. I never thought it was just hungry!"

"So what exactly is the streamer's profession? Some people guess he's a forensic doctor, some think he's a cosplayer, and now they suspect he's a dog trainer."

"Is it possible that he works as a forensic pathologist, works part-time as a dog trainer, and has cosplay as a hobby?"

"The energy of working people is too much! I'm moved to tears. I'm following the streamer now!"

After Lu Shi's unconventional approach, those who criticized him have temporarily fallen silent, but they are unwilling to retaliate. When Lu Shi makes another mistake, these same people will resurface like rats in a gutter, clamoring and yelling.

After thanking them for the gift, Lu Shi led the plague dog through the cells.

To his surprise, he had initially thought this place, like a secret realm, was merely a virtual space created by someone. Apart from him, everyone else was a monster from that secret realm.

But to my surprise, there were still people locked up in the cell, living people.

They stared at Lu Shi in horror, showing no gratitude for his killing of the prison guard. Instead, they huddled in a corner of the cell, fearing they would be the next to die.

"What crimes did you commit that led to your imprisonment?" Lu Shi stood at the door of a cell housing three people, trying to keep his tone as gentle as possible.

The three bald men did not answer Lu Shi's question, but stared at him with indifferent eyes.

"Do you want to go out?" Lu Shi asked tentatively.

Of course, he wouldn't actually release everyone. This is a prison; some of those imprisoned might be innocent, while others certainly deserved their fate.

"In no mood."

"Don't lie to us, we won't leave!"

"I don't want to leave! Don't let me out, you devil! You're just like them, a monster in human skin!"

The three of them talked more and more, and their attitude became increasingly intense.

They seemed to have been touched on a sore spot, gripping the iron bars of the cell and cursing loudly, while their trembling legs betrayed their inner fear.

They are afraid of something.

Lu Shi pondered for a moment. Did their fear stem from the plague dogs at their feet, or from anyone who could move freely in the prison?

He probably needs to go upstairs to investigate all of this.

Having made up his mind, Lu Shi had long since put the main task out of his mind; he knew he would definitely be able to leave the prison.

But if he were to leave without explanation, he would probably regret it every single day for many years to come.

Being too curious is definitely not a good thing.

Lu Shi strode through the cell. The prisoners here were too timid and sensitive; it was impossible to extract any useful information from them.

Halfway there, Lu Shi suddenly stopped.

Did you hear footsteps?

Lu Shi kept a close eye on the plague dog's every move out of the corner of his eye; animals have a stronger sense of hearing than ordinary people.

Thus, the plague dog became Lu Shi's compass. When he noticed the plague dog suddenly tucking its tail between its legs, it meant danger was imminent.

Ahead lay a dark corridor, the wall lamps that had been flickering on and off were now completely broken.

The plague dogs barked incessantly at the darkness, and no one knew what monster might emerge from it at any moment.

Lu Shi immediately recalled the map on that page of the diary in his mind. Walking out of the prison area, there was indeed a long corridor in the middle.

After walking through the corridor, you will arrive at the prison gate.

"It seems impossible for me to escape easily." Lu Shi was still relatively relaxed because he had a backup plan.

The distemper dog seemed unable to understand why its owner could remain so calm despite knowing there was danger ahead.

It had no choice but to bark even louder, trying to remind Lu Shi in this way.

The footsteps grew louder and louder, and even Lu Shi could hear them clearly.

At this moment, Lu Shi had to get serious. He looked up at the pitch-black darkness and wondered if he should make some preparations instead of just sitting and waiting to die.

Lu Shi felt a pang of regret, wishing his abilities could be restored to some extent. The monsters in this secret realm didn't even have a chance to get close before being instantly annihilated.

"Thump...thump...bang!"

Just moments ago, Lu Shi was calm and composed, but in a split second, like a Sichuan opera face-changing act, he suddenly moved from the middle of the road to the side and pressed himself against the iron bars of the prison cell.

A dark shadow passed through the spot where he had just been.

That's right, his magic was sealed, and his physique reverted to its original state. But his consciousness remained, and when danger approached, Lu Shi instinctively dodged it.

His reaction left the average viewer completely bewildered. They only thought Lu Shi was lucky, never expecting that he would take the next step the moment he saw those eyes in the darkness.

However, there were still a few expert players in the live stream. They rubbed their hands together and, like the disgusting person, quietly watched the live stream.

Lu Shi couldn't tell whether he first saw those eyes glowing red in the darkness or heard footsteps that were right next to him.

As he pressed himself against the iron bars, a crack appeared where he had been standing.

"Ah...you can't escape!"

It was another prison guard, but his condition was completely different from the previous one.

His eyes were red, and dark green liquid kept oozing from the corners of his mouth. His upper body consisted of only one hand, and long, wriggling worms were emerging from the severed arm.

Lu Shi frowned. This guy was no longer human; he was a monster. And his appearance was truly disgusting.

However, it is visibly more lethal.

The prison guard, who had failed to break through, gritted his teeth and looked at Lu Shi, then rudely threw a punch at Lu Shi's face.

"Woof woof woof!" The plague dog bit the prison guard's heel, trying to hold him back.

"Doggy, come back here!" Lu Shi hadn't forgotten that he had a dog with him. He just hadn't expected that his "fleeting romance" would turn into something so serious for the dog.

At this moment, the plague dog fulfilled its duty to protect its master, refusing to let go despite the prison guard's frantic leg swinging.

When the prison guards gave up on Lu, they turned their fists on the plague dogs instead.

It had only eaten a few pieces of meat that Lu Shi had fed it...

"You are more loyal than my fellow disciples back then."

A look of surprise flashed in Lu Shi's eyes, but reason told him that if he rushed forward now, the result would undoubtedly be suicide.

Completely defenseless, he seemed to have no way out when faced with the aggressive prison guards.
