Kapitel 4

As long as he dies, he will be greeted with a barrage of comments.

"However, you think you can harm my dog? No way!"

Lu Shi smiled, that enigmatic and captivating smile again, then grabbed the plague dog and stood in front of it.

Chapter 4

☪ Plague Prison

"Has the streamer gone mad?"

"What kind of operation is this?! Even my grandma wouldn't be this stupid!"

"To risk your life for a dog in a dungeon, and you're still a candidate for Rookie of the Year? Are you kidding me?"

"I'm dying of laughter! Where did all the praise for the streamer's intelligence and composure go? He's just an idiot, utterly terrible!"

"Just die already! Only egoists can survive in this game!"

The viewers in the live stream finally got their chance and launched a counterattack.

For an average person, this punch would either kill or seriously injure them.

However, some ordinary viewers, especially female viewers, sympathized with Lu Shi.

After seeing so many streamers who manipulate people's hearts, kill each other, and stab each other in the back, you'll feel a clear difference when you see Lu Shi. He's more like a normal person.

However, their voices were too insignificant and were once again drowned out by the frenzied barrage of comments.

Several top players left one after another, leaving only Red Spider holding the fort.

"Sister Hong, are you still watching?" a regular player boldly stepped forward and asked.

Red Spider's face was hidden by a mask, so her mood was unclear, but judging from the tone of her reply, she seemed quite happy.

"Of course, it's not over yet!"

"No, isn't this a death sentence?"

No sooner had he finished speaking than the prison guard's fist landed squarely on Lu Shi's chest.

Lu Shi's body was like a piece of light paper, sticking to the wall with a snap.

Blood flowed from the corners of his mouth and nostrils, making him look even weaker.

"Ugh," Lu Shi opened his mouth, swallowed the blood and foam in his mouth, and stood up with difficulty: "Fortunately, this punch was within my tolerance."

When Lu Shi did all this, he was indeed gambling.

He's betting on a beginner-friendly instance, so he won't set it too difficult. Like a secret realm, it's designed to provide experience, not to kill you outright.

Even if Lu Shi were to speculate from the worst possible perspective, the person who let him in here did indeed want to kill him, and wanted to see him struggle, fight back, and ultimately die a miserable death.

If someone is killed with just one punch, the entertainment value will be greatly reduced.

As it turned out, Lu Shi's gamble paid off. The prison guard's punch hurt a lot and probably injured his internal organs, but it wasn't fatal.

Most importantly, that familiar voice-over rang out again.

"Changes detected in the player panel..."

"Heavenly Demonic Body... bug fix in progress..."

"Congratulations, streamer! You have triggered the near-death reward, increasing all attributes by 10 points!"

There were still many technical terms that Lu Shi couldn't understand, but that didn't matter. What he could feel was the improvement in his abilities.

He regained a sense of familiarity. Unfortunately, even given a second chance, he still heard its name: Heavenly Demon Holy Body.

The viewers in the live stream were completely unaware of Lu Shi's changes; all they could see was Lu Shi being knocked down by a prison guard's punch and then slowly getting back up.

Aside from praising his tenacious vitality, there seems to be nothing else to say.

The prison guard snorted and roared angrily as he looked at Lu Shi, who had been knocked to the ground.

The plague dog had learned its lesson and was now hiding behind Lu Shi, waiting for its chance to strike.

Just when everyone thought Lu Shi would retaliate, he grabbed the plague dog and ran away.

The effect of the attribute value increase was immediate; at first, it was almost impossible for Lu Shi to dodge the prison guards' attacks.

Now, he has not only dodged them, but has even left the prison guards behind.

"You beast, can you catch up with me?" Lu Shi turned around in a very irritating way and waved at the prison guard.

Enraged, the prison guard did indeed chase after him, but he didn't expect that Lu Shi never intended to race him. Instead, he made a beautiful turn and swiftly returned to his cell.

When the two of them were racing, the other prisoners were dumbfounded when they landed, not knowing what had happened.

Lu Shi didn't even close the door. He patted his shoulder and stood at the door, looking at the prison guard with a leisurely air.

There was clearly no barrier between him and the prison guard, yet the guard seemed blocked by an invisible wall, left only in impotent rage, unable to take any further steps.

At this moment, Lu Shi, already aware of his role as a broadcaster, immediately turned around and explained:

"I noticed something very unreasonable as soon as I met the jailer."

“They’re acting very strangely; they’re very aggressive. Logically speaking, if they wanted to kill a prisoner, it should be very easy for them. Not to mention opening the door with a key, that guy outside could break these fragile iron bars with one punch.”

"Later I met a few more prisoners who were terrified of going out. Going out seemed to mean certain doom, so they could only hide in their cells."

"Then the same question arises: if the jailer really wanted to come in, could the cell stop him? The answer is no, so why are the prisoners safe?"

While explaining, Lu Shi carefully wiped the blood from his face, restoring his radiant appearance. It's fair to say he's very conscious of his image.

"So it's not hard to guess that this is a secret... rule in the dungeon: as long as you're in the cell, you're safe. So all I have to do is run back, and the guards can't hurt me."

Lu Shi's analysis was well-reasoned and supported by facts, once again shattering the doubts raised in the comments.

And not a single person in the live chat noticed that Lu Shi's speed had quietly increased.

Even Red Spider only thought that Lu Shi had a hidden trick up his sleeve.

And so his little secret remained hidden from everyone.

"Alright, time to deal with it." Lu Shi thanked the viewers for the comments that sent gifts, and was in a good mood when he saw that his audience had grown to two thousand.

He patted the plague dog's head, then stood up again and walked towards the prison guard at the door.

Lu Shi's next move was much more ordinary. Since he had an "invincible fountain" behind him, he only needed to kite the prison guards to win.

So every time he rushed out and punched the prison guard, he would run back before the guard could retaliate.

After more than ten times, the prison guard's condition was clearly off. He was panting heavily and staring blankly at Lu Shi, probably never having encountered such a cheating opponent before.

Only Lu Shi looked at his hands with heartache.

His judgment was indeed correct; even though his abilities had improved, his hand-to-hand combat skills were still far inferior to those of the prison guards.

His only advantage over his opponents was speed.

Seeing Lu Shi's amazing skills, more and more people gathered in the newbie lobby, even surpassing many streamers in the official dungeons.

"That's fucking disgusting! The streamer is like a flea!"

"If I were a prison guard, I'd want to die. This is cheating!"

"What cheating? It's clearly a legitimate use of the rules! You're just stupid for not noticing the mechanism, and you're blaming the streamer!"

"Wow, this streamer is amazing! I've never seen a newcomer kite monsters like this before. He's got a bright future ahead of him!"

"But to be honest, this tactic only works if there's a major prerequisite: the streamer has to be faster than the prison guard. How does he run so fast?"

"Yeah, even though prison guards are considered slow among monsters, it's quite something for an ordinary person without any enhancements to run this fast!"

Red Spider stood in front of the small television and discovered a magical phenomenon.

Of the thirty newcomers who joined at the same time, 17 survived. But apart from Lu Shi, the other 16 live streams didn't have a single viewer.

This guy not only makes monsters despair, but also leaves no way for his fellow monsters to survive!

Chapter 5

☪ Plague Prison

"Woof woof!" The plague dog leaned against Lu Shi, caught in a dilemma.

Out of dog instinct, it wanted to lick Lu Shi's wound with its tongue to disinfect it.

But then it thought about its current condition, and licking it would probably worsen Lu Shi's wound.

Lu Shi leaned against the corner of the cell, stroking the dog's head with his hand: "It's okay, I'll be fine after resting for a while."

He stared ahead, waiting for the next unlucky prison guard to arrive.

Unfortunately, a few minutes later, there was no movement from inside the prison.

"Have they learned their lesson?" Lu Shi shook his head. He couldn't possibly stay here any longer. Even after experiencing these dangers, he still had no intention of obediently staying in the cell and digging a tunnel.

"You stay here!" Lu Shi said to the plague dog before leaving. The dog seemed to understand him, suddenly raising its head and gazing at Lu Shi with its two wet eyes, reluctant to leave.

"You're just a burden to me. If more monsters come, I won't be able to protect you next time, and it might even lead to our deaths together."

The plague dog finally gave in. It obediently lay down in the cell and whimpered twice at Lu Shi's retreating figure after he left.

"I actually found this scene somewhat touching!" a viewer in the live stream commented.

"Indeed, this is the first time I've discovered that monsters in dungeons can be communicated with, and even tamed."

"This streamer is too charming. It's one thing to fool us viewers, but even the dog is completely infatuated with him."

Unable to hear the whispers, Lu Shi plunged headlong into the deep, dark corridor.

He had initially thought it was just an ordinary, dark corridor.

But as soon as Lu Shi took his first step inside, he realized something was wrong.

The surrounding darkness, as if it were alive, suddenly converged on him.
