Chapter 9

Cheng Weiming frowned as he saw Mo Yushen get out of the driver's seat. "You're driving yourself? How are you going to drink later?"

Mo Yushen: "No, I have things to do when I get back."

Cheng Weiming came downstairs to change his shirt; he had just been splashed with wine by Jiang Qin again, the second time tonight.

Once inside the private room, everyone was quiet, silently drinking their drinks, except for Jiang Qin, who was crying and cursing at the same time.

"You men are all the same, you're all bastards!"

"He's fickle and heartless!"

"Why aren't you all saying anything? Are you feeling guilty?"

When people saw Mo Yushen, it was like seeing a savior.

Mo Yushen walked over to Jiang Qin and snatched the wine glass from her hand. "That's enough. Let's go home."

Jiang Qin propped her head up and wiped away her tears. "None of your business!"

She pointed to her chest, "It hurts here, do you understand?"

"Five years of relationship, everything was fine last week, and it's all over just like that! Five years, not five days, not even the few months you spent with your fake wife!"

Cheng Weiming patted Mo Yushen's shoulder, "She's drunk, so whatever she says, don't take it to heart."

Since there were no wine glasses, Jiang Qin simply grabbed the red wine bottle and drank it down in one gulp.

"Jiang Qin." Mo Yushen's voice wasn't loud, but it carried a chilling sense of distance.

Jiang Qin took several large gulps from the bottle and almost choked.

Mo Yushen looked at Jiang Qin, but his words of comfort were completely useless.

“Go back now, and I’ll pretend nothing happened.” He paused deliberately for half a second. “You can continue acting up, but from now on, everyone here will have nothing to do with you.”

Jiang Qin is currently in a semi-drunk state, but still somewhat conscious.

The tears that were about to fall were forcibly forced back by Mo Yushen's cold and ruthless voice.

She blinked and put the bottle back in its place.

The next moment, unable to hold back, tears suddenly streamed down her face, even reaching the corners of her mouth.

Her stomach was churning and she kept rubbing it with her hands.

Mo Yushen's tone softened, "Take the bag, I'll take you to the hospital."

Jiang Qin, her neck stiff and her eyes blurry with tears, said, "I don't care what you say!"

The atmosphere was tense until a musical ringtone broke the silence.

Mo Yushen took out his phone, glanced at the number, and swiped to answer.

Xi Jia's voice came through: "You're not home?"

Mo Yushen: "Don't wander around outside. I'll go back right now."

Chapter Six

Xi Jia sought out Mo Yushen to clarify a few issues, but after searching both the second and first floors without finding him, she called him. Unexpectedly, Mo Yushen responded with that remark.

It unintentionally creates the illusion that she and Mo Yushen have a good relationship.

Don't wander off.

Does she have a criminal record?

Collecting her thoughts, she said to her phone, "I'm fine, you're busy."

Mo Yushen didn't say much and hung up the phone.

"Xi Jia?" Cheng Weimo asked.

"Okay." Mo Yushen gestured to Cheng Weimo to take Jiang Qin to the hospital for an IV drip.

He greeted the others in the private room and then left.

Cheng Weiming asked a female friend to take Jiang Qin to the restroom, saying, "Help her fix her makeup. I'll wait for you downstairs." He grabbed his coat and quickly walked out of the private room.

While walking, I made a phone call and contacted a VIP ward.

At the elevator entrance, Cheng Weimo caught up with Mo Yushen.

There were too many people around, so he didn't feel comfortable asking too many questions.

"What's wrong with Xi Jia?" he asked with concern.

Mo Yushen replied calmly, "Nothing much."

Cheng Weimo nodded, "Then why are you in such a hurry to go back?"

Mo Yushen: "She forgot she had lived in the villa; it was no different from living in a strange place."

Cheng Weimo suddenly realized that his condition had worsened.

Before registering their marriage, Mo Yushen and Xi Jia signed a divorce agreement.

He was the only one who knew about it at the time, and he was the one who drafted the divorce agreement for them. Later, Jiang Qin went to Mo Yushen's office and accidentally saw the agreement.

Besides that, no one else knew.

With Xi Jia's current memory, she has probably forgotten everything.

After entering the elevator and waiting for the doors to close, Cheng Weimo asked Mo Yushen what his plans were now.

The agreement's deadline is fast approaching.

Mo Yushen did not respond to Cheng Weimo until the elevator stopped on the first floor.

Cheng Weimo said to himself, "Divorce is nothing to Xi Jia. She won't cry, make a scene, or act crazy like Jiang Qin. Xi Jia will forget that she was ever married in a few days. As for who you are, she won't remember at all."

The elevator doors opened, revealing a crowd of people. Cheng Weiming stopped the conversation.

On the way to the parking lot, people passed by from time to time, and the two remained silent.

Cheng Weimo has been a lawyer for many years and never lets personal feelings interfere with his work. This is the first time he has felt compassion for someone else's divorce.

No one can say for sure what will become of Xi Jia's condition. If she gets divorced, it's unlikely any man will remain patient with her. If she remarries, he'll probably only be after her family's wealth.

When they reached the car, Cheng Weiming said a few more words: "If you've decided not to divorce, call me this weekend." He urged, "Go back quickly, don't keep Xi Jia waiting anxiously."

Mo Yu nodded deeply, opened the car door, and got in.

Over there, Jiang Qin came over with the help of her friend.

Jiang Qin glared at Mo Yushen, "I don't care what you say!"

Mo Yushen didn't respond, closed the car door, started the car, and drove away.

Jiang Qin was furious, and with the alcohol taking effect, she lashed out at Cheng Weiming, hitting and kicking him, yelling, "You and Mo Yushen are birds of a feather! Colluding with each other!"

Cheng Weiming didn't bother arguing with the drunkard; he bent down and patted his trouser leg.

Fortunately, this club is very private, and outsiders can't get in. Otherwise, her drunken state would definitely be the number one trending topic.

Cheng Weimo opened the car door and shoved Jiang Qin inside.

Jiang Qin has a pretty good alcohol tolerance. After the alcohol kicks in, aside from wanting to cause trouble, she still retains her senses.

She pointed at Cheng Weiming, "Even you side with Mo Yushen, ganging up with him to bully me. You men are all two-faced."

"Mo Yushen even threatened me! What right does he have! Who does he think he is!"

She vented her dissatisfaction incoherently.

“Mo Yushen is the most heartless person in the world. When he was little, he didn’t like to talk. I was afraid that Mo Lian would bully him and that his stepmother would treat him badly, so I told my mother to invite him to our house on the weekend.”

“He has been abroad for so many years, and his own parents don’t care about him on his birthday, but I still remember to celebrate his birthday.”

"After I started dating, I didn't have time to go and celebrate his birthday with him, but I still made sure to order him a cake."

"Cheng Weimo, don't you remember? The woman you like got married, and I turned down my acting role to keep you company."

"I've been completely open and honest with you all these years, and all you've done is laugh at me."

"I must be blind to consider you all my friends."

Jiang Qin kept talking

Cheng Weimo rubbed his temples and signaled the driver to start the car.

Cheng Weiming's car caught up with Mo Yushen's car at the next intersection. It was a red light, and the two cars stopped side by side.

Mo Yushen lowered the car window halfway and looked ahead casually.

Cheng Weiming was afraid that Jiang Qin would go on a drunken rampage if she saw Mo Yushen, so he quickly closed the car window on Jiang Qin's side.

Jiang Qin felt a little better from the cold wind, but then she suddenly felt stuffy in the car and snapped at Cheng Weiming, "What are you doing! I'm hot!"

Cheng Weimo gestured to the driver: "Turn on the air conditioning."

driver:"……"

At the end of October, a heavy rainstorm a couple of days ago caused a sharp drop in temperature. Are you sure you want to turn on the air conditioning?

The light turned green, and Mo Yushen's car sped through the intersection, leaving Cheng Weimo's car behind. Only then did he roll down his car window.

The bar is not far from the villa, about a 20-minute drive.

Mo Yushen parked the car, glanced at the third floor, saw no lights, and vaguely saw a person lying on the railing of the terrace. He pushed open the door and got out of the car.

Xi Jia turned on the light, and Mo Yushen stopped and looked over. "Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"Not sleepy, I'm working on the script."

"Don't stay out too late."

Xi Jia hummed softly, but Mo Yushen didn't hear her. He had already stepped into the villa. Xi Jia turned off the balcony light and went back to her room.

Mo Yushen got busy as soon as he entered the study. During this time, Cheng Weimo sent him a message saying that he had taken Jiang Qin to the hospital and she was now receiving an IV drip.

Mo Yushen didn't reply after reading it. Just as he put down his phone, his ringtone went off. It was his father-in-law, Ji Zhenghe.

Ji Zhenghe was abroad, preoccupied with his daughter's illness, and for a moment he forgot about the time difference.
