Princess Xiangsi - Chapter 80
"Husband and wife bow to each other—"
Just as Jun Wuhen and Qingyun were about to bow to each other, a voice came from outside the hall—"This humble servant is here on the Emperor's orders to present a congratulatory gift to wish Your Majesty and Your Majesty a long and happy marriage."
As soon as he finished speaking, a dark figure appeared.
The entire room fell silent, and people exchanged bewildered glances. The martial arts world and the imperial court had never had any dealings, and the Li Palace had never interfered in the affairs of the imperial palace.
Jun Wuhen frowned slightly, but his expression softened when he saw that Qingyun didn't react much. He looked at the newcomer. Qingyun, however, remained quietly holding the red silk.
The man clasped his hands in greeting to Jun Wuhen and Qingyun, placed the congratulatory gift down, and then clasped his hands again, saying, "The message has been delivered. I wish the Lord and his wife a long and happy marriage. I shall take my leave now."
Jun Wuhen didn't pay much attention to the visitor's rudeness. He was somewhat surprised, and he had guessed a bit about why Situ Xingyun had sent a gift.
It seems that he cares about her too.
Gazing at Qingyun beside him, holding a red silk ribbon, Jun Wuhen raised an eyebrow and said loudly, "Continue." His voice held a hint of joy. Even if he had lingered in the past, it was all in the past. She was his now, and would always be his!
"Husband and wife bow to each other—"
Jun Wuhen and Qingyun turned around and bowed slightly.
"The ceremony is complete! Proceed to the bridal chamber!"

On the bright red table sat two dragon and phoenix candles, their flames flickering.
Qingyun, her face covered by a red veil, entered the room with the help of Ziyi. Ziyi helped Qingyun sit on the edge of the bed and said softly, "Miss, after tonight you will be the Lord's wife."
Qingyun sat silently on the edge of the bed, seemingly oblivious to what she had said. If her fists hadn't been clenched tightly, Ziyi would have truly believed she hadn't heard a word.
"Your Majesty will be a good husband."
Another silence fell. A tranquil atmosphere filled the air.
After a long pause, Qingyun nodded. "I know."
The red veil covered her face, and the woman in purple couldn't see her expression or guess her mood. She was behaving very strangely today.
Noticing the somber atmosphere, Qingyun said, "Ziyi, you can go out now! You've been busy all day, go and rest! You don't need to serve me anymore."
Zi Yi smiled playfully, "Yes. Zi Yi will certainly not disturb the Lord and his wife's wedding night. Zi Yi will take her leave now." She narrowed her eyes, concealing the helplessness and unspeakable sorrow in them.
After the woman in purple withdrew, Qingyun pulled off her red veil. Her expression was somewhat bewildered, her eyes held a hint of helplessness, and a strange sense of oppression lingered in her heart.
She stared at the burning dragon and phoenix candles, becoming slightly lost in thought.
There's no doubt that Jun Wuhen loves her, and she will have a safe haven.
She had agreed a few days ago, but now she wanted to back out. She wanted to marry the person she loved, to be united with the person she loved, and to grow old together with the person she loved.
The thought suddenly popped into her head, so strong that it made her heart pound wildly.
Strangely, she had written many heart-wrenching love stories, many of which involved couples who only met after marriage. Yet, she felt a strong aversion, even disgust, towards marrying someone she didn't love.
If she didn't marry Jun Wuhen, she probably wouldn't be alive tomorrow!
Love is important, but how can love be maintained without life?
Perhaps, no, there is no perhaps. She absolutely must marry Jun Wuhen; it is her only choice. After the marriage, she will definitely try her best to fall in love with Jun Wuhen, just like the woman in her book.
I definitely will! I definitely will! I will fall in love with him!
Gently pushing open the door, Jun Wuhen saw Qingyun staring blankly at the dragon and phoenix candles.
She didn't notice him coming in; she was just staring intently at the dragon and phoenix candles, her eyes misty and ethereal, as if even if he held her tightly in his arms, he couldn't hold onto her wandering heart.
His heart tightened.
Her face was lightly made up, as serene as she was. She sat quietly by the bed, without the expectation and shyness a bride should have, only a blank stare and a bitter struggle.
A bitter feeling welled up in Jun Wuhen's heart. Hadn't he already foreseen this? But foresight is one thing, seeing it in person still caused a slight sting to his heart.
He knew that she didn't love him now, and that she was only marrying him for her own life.
A complex light flickered in his icy blue eyes.
Suddenly, Qingyun smelled a faint scent of alcohol.
The confusion in her eyes gradually faded, and her gaze cleared. She raised an eyebrow, meeting Jun Wuhen's blue eyes and taking in his complex expression.
Jun Wuhen was somewhat surprised that she would suddenly look over, but he smiled slightly and put on a gentle expression.
Seeing this, Qingyun smiled and got up to go and greet her.
"Wuhen, the people outside let you in? Huh?! Why isn't anyone making a ruckus in the bridal chamber? I remember yesterday I heard some gangs saying they were going to turn the Martial Arts Master's wedding night into chaos!"
Jun Wuhen raised an eyebrow. "Who would dare to cause trouble in the bridal chamber of the Martial Arts Master?" He paused, then changed the subject. "Yun'er, you must be very tired after a long day. Let's eat something first."
Jun Wuhen naturally took her hand and led her to sit down at the table.
Qingyun wasn't too reserved and sat down with him.
