Kiyomi Tsuki and His Fox - Chapter 30

Chapter 30

"I see." Cai Zhonghe grabbed Qing Jianyue's hand and shouted, "Press your handprint."

"No, I don't want it anymore." Qing Jianyue struggled desperately, her eyes brimming with tears. "I'd rather die than put my fingerprint on it."

Cai Zhonghe angrily said, "Don't you want the beauty anymore?"

"I want."

"Then put your fingerprints on it."

"I won't press it."

"Do you want the beauty or not?"

"I want."

"Press your fingerprint."

"Don't press it."

One was a fierce and menacing figure, relentlessly pressuring her; the other was stubbornly refusing to submit, tears streaming down her face.

The women were so amused by the two of them that their pollen was smeared with tears. Only Qingfeng was puzzled: Strange, how come this kid is completely different from before?

Chapter Fifteen: Qingfeng is Back

Laughter filled the hall, and no one noticed the arrival of Lu Qingcheng and her three servants. The little white fox, being the most clever, quickly flew to Lu Qingcheng's feet, chirping happily. Only then did everyone notice, hurriedly rising to greet them and offer their respects.

Lu Qingcheng's gaze swept over Qingfeng, who was sitting upright on the couch, and then fell on Cai Zhonghe, who was entangled with Qing Jianyue. "Zhonghe, what are you doing? Why is Jianyue here?"

Like a child who has suffered countless injustices, Qingjian Yue cried out as if she had finally seen her mother, "Lord of the Fortress, please do justice for me! The handsome brother has bullied me!"

Lu Qingcheng asked curiously, "Zhonghe, why are you bullying Jianyue?"

Cai Zhonghe quickly gave him a wink and then made a hand gesture, "Master, this is what happened. You know this Miss Qingfeng; she's the most sought-after courtesan in Cuiyi Garden. Jianyue has fallen in love with her and wants to redeem her. The head maid asked for one million taels of silver. He didn't have it, so I kindly lent it to him and wrote an IOU, but he refused to put his fingerprint on it."

Lu Qingcheng glanced at Qingfeng, who was dressed in women's clothing and looked alluring and bright, and then noticed the strange smiles of everyone in the room. She immediately understood.

Kiyoshi Tsuki roared, baring his wolf fangs, "I was going to Baozi Lou to eat steamed buns, three for a penny, fragrant, crispy, cheap and delicious. But you had to lure me here and give me a human flesh bun worth a million taels of gold."

This remark made Lu Qingcheng burst into laughter. "Qingfeng, this is the first time I've ever heard someone describe you as a human flesh bun worth a million taels of gold."

Qingfeng snorted coldly, "I am flattered that my cousin has come in person."

"Everyone who is superfluous, get out," Lu Qingcheng said authoritatively.

The old women and maids didn't dare hesitate and hurriedly left the living room. Zhang Zhichun and his three companions stood guard outside, preventing anyone from approaching.

"Jianyue, let me introduce you. This is my cousin, Lu Qingfeng."

Qing Jianyue smiled and said, "Lord of the Fortress, I have long heard that you have a cousin. I just did not expect that Young Master Qingfeng is as beautiful as you. Together with his handsome brother, they can be called the three most beautiful flowers in the fortress."

Cai Zhonghe fell down, and Lu Qingcheng frowned, clearly annoyed that he was talking nonsense.

Qingfeng laughed, "When did you find out?"

Qing Jianyue blushed and remained silent. Cai Zhonghe suddenly understood what was going on and chuckled. Qing Jianyue, embarrassed and angry, threw a punch, which Cai Zhonghe dodged with a laugh.

Lu Qingcheng's eyebrows furrowed. He looked at his cousin, his heart filled with mixed emotions. "Three years have passed, and I never imagined we would meet like this. Qingfeng, come back with me."

A flash of hatred appeared in Qingfeng's eyes. "Three years ago, I was driven out of Lu Family Fortress. Now you're begging me to go back. Isn't that ridiculous?"

Lu Qingcheng said seriously, "I'm not begging you to go back, I'm asking you to go back."

Qingfeng, like a hedgehog with its quills raised, said, "Why are you asking me to go back? If I go back, aren't you afraid I'll kill you and your aunt to avenge you?"

Lu Qingcheng's expression darkened, and the air in the room suddenly turned cold. Qing Jianyue was extremely surprised. He looked at Cai Zhonghe, who shook his head slightly, signaling him not to speak.

“Even if you want to kill me, you’d better have the ability. You and I are brothers. We’ve eaten together, slept together, and played together since we were little. I even taught you the first poem you learned, word by word. I know best what you’re thinking. Besides, you’ve never wanted to kill me.”

His words stirred up memories deep within Qingfeng's heart, the innocence and joy of childhood, and the unbreakable bond between brothers, all of which instantly welled up in her heart, bringing tears to her eyes.

“You should still remember that when I saw you off three years ago, I said that one day I would personally bring you back. Now is the time for me to fulfill my promise.”

"Being betrayed once is enough. You don't need to say anything more; I don't believe you." Qingfeng's smile was chilling. "Besides, how can I know if you, who have used me, will kill me in the future?"

"You really don't trust me at all?"

"From childhood to adulthood, you are the person I trust the most; now, you are the person I trust the least."

Lu Qingcheng remained silent for a moment, then said coldly, "You still hate me because of that woman."

Qingfeng sneered, "Yes, I hate you, I hate you to the core, I wish I could kill you with my own hands. Cousin, I will never forget the humiliation you have inflicted on me."

"I see."

Lu Qingcheng's face was as if sealed by a thousand-year-old ice, his eyes filled with darkness. He walked away without looking back. Qing Jianyue hurriedly followed behind, but couldn't help looking at Qingfeng. That stubborn person, although he appeared unyielding, Qing Jianyue could still sense that he wanted to cry but couldn't, his grief was desolate and heartbreaking.

As they exited the garden gate, Lu Qingcheng suddenly stopped. He looked up at the sky, motionless. Qing Jianyue asked worriedly, "Lord of the Fortress?" Lu Qingcheng abruptly grabbed him, his icy hand making Qing Jianyue's heart pound.

Ah, those two brothers! I'd heard he had a cousin who left Lujiabao for some reason. It seems there's a deep misunderstanding between them, like it's about a woman. I must ask the handsome older brother about it sometime.

At dawn, Qing Jian Yue, accompanied by her white fox, bathed in the rosy glow of the morning sun, entered the scholar's courtyard like a fragrant breeze. The little white fox, having caught a large, fat mouse, was playing with it in the yard. A tall, thin man stood in the corridor; as Qing Jian Yue entered, he turned around. Qing Jian Yue's eyes widened in surprise—it was Qing Feng. He had returned.

His long hair cascaded down his back, a jewel-encrusted ribbon adorning his forehead, highlighting his exquisitely beautiful face and radiant beauty, exuding a captivating charm. His flowing white robes accentuated his ethereal grace. His cold, melancholic eyes flashed with a dazzling light the moment he saw Kiyomi Tsuki, and a joyful smile, tinged with a mischievous glint, bloomed on his face.

"Jianyue, don't you recognize her?"
