Ghost Stories - Chapter 47

Chapter 47

“Yes! It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it? A 25-year-old owning a high-end luxury villa!” Li Mingsheng said.

"What about his family?"

"They've already moved abroad. After Fengxing died, his parents entrusted the villa to a real estate company to sell, but no one dared to buy it. Everyone says it's a haunted house!"

"Okay, I got it. Thanks, buddy. I'll treat you to dinner when I'm done with this busy period!"

Lin Feng whistled casually after hanging up the phone. He was completely absorbed in the case and hadn't noticed his surroundings at all. For the past few days, he and Qiqi had used their positions to contact almost everyone in the company. They had basically excluded those of lower rank, as there was no fundamental conflict of interest. Wang Qilin was known for his kindness to the company's employees; almost everyone knew this, so it shouldn't be one of his subordinates.

So they started by contacting people at the managerial level, but they didn't find any clues.

As Lin Feng was pondering this problem, a sudden shout interrupted his train of thought, startling him. He looked up and saw Yang Shaoxin, the group's vice president, standing in front of him, staring at him with murderous eyes.

"Do you know this is a work environment?" Yang Shaoxin said to Lin Feng in an authoritative tone.

"I know? So what?" Lin Feng said nonchalantly.

"What's wrong? Do you know this is a work environment? You're talking so loudly, which will disturb other people's work. Do you know that? Don't think that just because you're Mr. Wang's bodyguard you can be so arrogant. I can fire you anytime I want! Do you understand?" Yang Shaoxin said sternly.

"Whatever!" Lin Feng didn't like Yang Shaoxin at all. When he saw President Wang, this guy's face was all smiles, but when he saw the employees, it was like he was seeing an enemy. Moreover, he also learned from President Wang that this guy had embezzled tens of millions of yuan of the company's funds. However, because Yang Shaoxin had followed him for so many years, President Wang not only pretended not to know about it, but also gave him 10% of the shares.

Lin Feng certainly wouldn't give someone like that a friendly look. He ignored Yang Shaoxin, turned around and left, saying as he went, "If you're unhappy, you can call President Wang right now and ask him to fire me!"

Seeing Lin Feng's actions, Yang Shaoxin's face turned almost white with anger. He pointed at Lin Feng, who was walking away leisurely, and couldn't say a word. Looking at Yang Shaoxin, who was trembling with anger, the employees in the office who were usually scolded like grandsons by him felt very satisfied, as if they had gotten their revenge.

Book 3, Ghostly Tales, Chapter 48: Crisis (1)

Yang Shaoxin pointed at Lin Feng and roared, "You!"

"What is it?" Qiqi stepped out from the side with a cold expression, and seeing Yang Shaoxin's mouth twisted to one side in anger, she said coldly, "Please don't make a loud noise!"

"What?" A mere secretary dared to lecture him? Wasn't that all thanks to Wang Qilin's influence? He really wanted to kill those two. An unconscious murderous aura surged from Yang Shaoxin, then vanished in a flash. Yang Shaoxin thought to himself, "This is bad. It would be terrible if this female secretary noticed anything amiss." Seeing that Qiqi didn't seem to sense anything unusual, he relaxed, gave a cold snort, and turned back to his office.

Qiqi looked at Yang Shaoxin, who was hidden behind the door, and a victorious smile appeared on her lips. The fox's tail had finally been revealed.

"I must kill these two ignorant brats!" Yang Shaoxin downed a glass of red wine and wiped his lips. He could no longer tolerate being treated like this. He had almost risked his life for the company, and now even a secretary and a bodyguard dared to give him attitude. He had considered directly asking Wang Qilin to fire them, but Wang Qilin would definitely not agree. Even if Wang Qilin did agree, if these two wanted to investigate further, they would eventually trace it back to him. It was better to find a way to get rid of these two guys once and for all, so they wouldn't get in his way and hinder his grand plan.

Yang Shaoxin acted immediately. He first went out and instructed his secretary outside the office not to let anyone disturb him, and then locked the door.

After taking off his suit jacket and hanging it on a hanger, he went to the lounge and locked the door tightly.

He turned on the red light in the lounge, creating an eerie atmosphere. At the far end sat an altar with a grotesque mask on it. He put the mask on and took out various ritual implements. He grabbed a handful of rice and scattered it on the altar, then placed a pair of chopsticks on it. He muttered incantations, uttering incomprehensible phrases.

After chanting for a while, the chopsticks suddenly stood upright, as if possessed. The candle beside them went out with a "whoosh," making the room even darker. He grabbed a gleaming kitchen knife and swung it down hard. The blade severed the chopsticks in half; the upper half fell onto the table with a "clatter," while the lower half remained upright, refusing to fall.

Yang Shaoxin removed his mask, his brow drenched in sweat. He smiled with satisfaction as he looked at the two upright chopsticks. He took out a tissue, wiped the sweat from his brow, and then left the darkroom.

Lin Feng was sitting in President Wang's office drinking tea, while Qi Qi was on the other side talking about the eerie aura she had just sensed emanating from Yang Shaoxin.

After listening to Qiqi's words, President Wang leaned back in his chair and said, "Qiqi, could you be mistaken?"

Lin Feng laughed, "She's mistaken? Her intuition is sharper than a mouse's!"

Qiqi pinched Lin Feng and said, "No, I'm sure Yang Shaoxin has very strong spiritual power. His Taoist magic is no less than Lin Feng's. In fact, in terms of magic alone, I think he is slightly better than Lin Feng!"

Mr. Wang looked up at the ceiling and pondered for a moment before saying, "But he's been with me for so long and never knew he knew these things. Besides, I've been pretty good to him, haven't I? He lost tens of millions of yuan, and I just turned a blind eye and let it go. I even gave him 10% of the shares. He shouldn't have any reason to harm me!"

"Human desires are unpredictable, and they are an invincible abyss. Once you have a full stomach, you want a house; once you have a house, you want a car; once you have a car, you want a villa. Some people's desires are a bottomless pit, and no matter what you do, you can never fill it!" Qiqi said.

Lin Feng listened to Qi Qi's words and nodded in agreement, saying, "It's clear that Yang Shaoxin has great ambitions and is not content with just being a vice president!" After saying that, he raised his cup, wanting to take a sip of tea.

The tea in the cup suddenly started churning and then exploded with a "pop." Luckily, the tea wasn't too hot, so he wasn't burned. However, the flying shards still grazed his face, leaving a mark.

Lin Feng and Qi Qi stood up simultaneously and walked to President Wang's side, watching the door warily. A sudden gust of cold wind swept through the tightly closed office, followed by a rustling sound at the doorway. Lin Feng said in a low voice, "Something's trying to get in. Be careful!"

Unlike Lin Feng and Qi Qi, Mr. Wang couldn't hear or see these things. He had no feeling about them at all, only that the room temperature seemed to have dropped a bit.

Suddenly, a head popped out from the doorway. It looked like a child's head, but its eyes were filled with malice, and its bright red lips revealed sharp teeth. Then, its small body, hands, and feet all passed through the door and came in, with a little tail trailing behind it.

"The Little Ghost Curse!" Lin Feng gasped. He'd heard of such a curse before, but never seen one before. To forge this curse, one must use their own son; otherwise, the resulting "little ghost" wouldn't obey commands. The "little ghost" was ferocious and bloodthirsty, incredibly powerful due to the resentment it carried. To forge this curse, one's own son, at 100 days old, must be placed in a jar filled with fresh blood. This jar must be filled with the blood of girls under one year old, so the "little ghost" could absorb their resentment. The son must soak in it for forty-nine days, and a plaster must be placed on the jar every day.

The "Blessing Spell" is used to prevent the "little devil" from breaking the jar and running away before it is fully refined. Once the "Little Devil Spell" is refined, it will only obey the commands of people who are related to it by blood. Each time it is used, it must drink blood to maintain its obedience, otherwise it will go berserk and will not even listen to the words of the person who refined it.

Lin Feng cursed, "Damn it!" It seems Yang Shaoxin also knows they've discovered his secret, and he's willing to go to great lengths to silence them! He really wasn't very confident in dealing with this half-human, half-ghost thing. The thing looked sticky and disgusting, yet it resembled a child.

Book 3, Ghostly Chapter 49: Crisis (2)

The little imp stood by the door, making squeaking noises, seemingly in a state of excitement, its pair of ferocious, murky eyes fixed on Lin Feng. Indeed, its target was Lin Feng and Qiqi.

Looking at the strange-looking thing, Lin Feng felt genuinely uneasy. The eerie aura and nauseating stench emanating from it were almost unbearable. His hand was already hidden in his pocket, ready to pull out a talisman to strike the creature at any moment. But Qiqi shook her head slightly at him, her hand already holding the Bluetooth device. Dealing with such a thing required a swift and decisive action; its brutal ferocity could easily lead to death if one wasn't careful.

After seeing the spirit sword in Qiqi's hand, the little devil shook his head a few times. Green liquid, which had been flowing from his mouth, splattered everywhere. Seeing Lin Feng and Qiqi's grave expressions, as if facing a formidable enemy, Boss Wang, though unsure of the situation, could still sense the danger.

The little devil chirped twice, then kicked off with its hind legs and shot towards Lin Feng like an arrow. In mid-air, it revealed its sharp teeth and bit at Lin Feng's neck.

The little devil lunged forward, its stench making Lin Feng dizzy. He delivered a beautiful side kick, but the little devil, though small, moved with incredible agility in the air. It leaped upwards and bit into Lin Feng's leather shoe. Lin Feng quickly pulled his foot back, but the little devil was incredibly strong. With a powerful tug, it tore off the front of Lin Feng's shoe, revealing a row of toes.

Meanwhile, Qiqi wasn't idle either; her speed and strength were slightly faster than Lin Feng's. As the little devil retreated, Qiqi had already flashed behind it, forcefully slashing down with her "Bluetooth" device, blocking the little devil's escape route.

Instead of retreating, the little devil unexpectedly charged forward, bypassing the unsteady man in front and heading straight for Mr. Wang, who was sitting behind the table. Lin Feng knew he was in trouble; it seemed too late to save him, and Mr. Wang was about to be bitten. But just as the little devil's teeth were about to touch Mr. Wang, he suddenly vanished from his chair. The little devil's upper and lower teeth snapped shut with a "click." It turned out that Qiqi had seen the little devil charging forward and knew something was wrong. With all her might, her speed was astonishing; she managed to pull Mr. Wang off the chair just in time, saving his life.

Before Mr. Wang knew what was happening, Qiqi grabbed him by the collar and threw him aside. Of course, in a moment of crisis, Qiqi didn't care about gentleness, and Mr. Wang was immediately thrown around, feeling completely disoriented. Qiqi said urgently in a low voice, "Mr. Wang, you should go inside and hide!"

Mr. Wang didn't ask any questions. After all, his life was more important, and he decided to suppress his curiosity for now and ask later. He got up from the ground and hurriedly ran into the lounge.

Missing his attack, the imp lashed out with its tail at Lin Feng. Unable to dodge in time, Lin Feng could only shield his face with his arm. With a loud "smack," Lin Feng was sent flying by the imp's incredible strength. However, Lin Feng remained calm as he stumbled backward. He already had a talisman in hand, and taking advantage of the imp's momentum, he unleashed a Five Thunder Talisman, striking the imp squarely.

The "Five Thunder Talisman" is an extremely powerful Taoist talisman, written on yellow paper with a mixture of black dog blood, black donkey blood, and cinnabar. It is highly effective against demons and ghosts and has long been a part of Taoist protective talismans. Taoist exorcisms generally do not destroy ghosts unless absolutely necessary; instead, they guide them or help them fulfill their unfulfilled wishes, enabling them to ascend to a higher realm.

But when dealing with a little devil, a vicious ghost among vicious ghosts, how could he show the slightest mercy? So Lin Feng immediately used his most powerful "Five Thunder Talisman".

Lin Feng's sudden attack caught the little ghost completely off guard. Unable to dodge in mid-air, it was struck squarely by the "Five Thunder Talisman." The talisman struck its target and exploded with a "bang" on the little ghost's body. Amidst the surging spiritual fire, the little ghost squeaked in pain.

Lin Feng then got up from the ground, rubbing his aching arm and saying, "Damn, that was a really hard hit, it almost broke my arm!"

The little devil struggled a few times, then fell from the air with a scream, crashing onto the table and lying motionless. Kiki exclaimed happily, "Wow, after working with you for so long, this is the first time I've seen you tidy up all this so efficiently!"

Lin Feng smiled wryly: "Are you praising me or insulting me?"

The two looked at the little devil, whose body was engulfed in flames, his flesh sizzling, and his entire body charred black.

Qiqi said, "I think that's enough, he should be dead!"

"Ugh!" Lin Feng, clutching his still aching arm, walked to the table. Qi Qi had already come over and reached out, ready to nudge the little devil. But the little devil suddenly sprang up and bit Qi Qi's arm.

Caught off guard, Qiqi was bitten by the little devil. She quickly shook her arm, but the little devil's dying counterattack had penetrated several centimeters into her flesh, and she couldn't shake it off no matter how hard she tried.

In her anger, Qiqi, ignited by the brat's provocation, put her arm on the table and struck the brat's head several times with her other hand, until the brat's head was smashed open and his face was unrecognizable. Finally, the brat relented.

Lin Feng watched in stunned silence for a long time before finally saying, "Qiqi, you just went crazy!"

Qiqi spat and said, "How can I get rid of it if I don't do it this way? Are you going to help me get rid of it?"

Lin Feng was speechless, so he simply kept quiet. After the spirit fire disappeared, the little ghost was burned without a trace. Hearing that there seemed to be no danger outside, Boss Wang secretly peeked out. Seeing that Lin Feng and Qiqi were both standing safely and there was no other movement in the office, he finally came out.

After looking around for a while, Mr. Wang found nothing unusual in the office except for a chair that had fallen over and documents scattered all over the floor. He asked, "What just came by?"

Lin Feng explained the situation, then asked President Wang, "Does Yang Shaoxin have children?"

Mr. Wang shook his head and said, "No, he got divorced. His ex-wife used to treat him very well, but I don't know why she divorced him, and I don't know where she went!"

Lin Feng nodded and said, "Yang Shaoxin just sent a little devil to try and kill us. It seems he has become aware of our actions and considers us a major threat that must be eliminated!"

Mr. Wang is a very sentimental person. He wiped his face and said, "I never expected that after more than 20 years of friendship, he would actually try to harm me. I don't even know what I did to wrong him!"

Lin Feng and Qi Qi kept comforting President Wang, it seemed the time had come to expose Yang Shaoxin directly.

Book 3, Ghostly Chapter 50: Crisis (3)

Yang Shaoxin sat in his chair, eyes closed, meditating, his mind racing with smug calculations. The "Little Ghost Curse" was something he'd spent a tremendous amount of time and money to master years ago. Those bodyguards and secretaries shouldn't be able to handle it, right? He'd kill those two troublesome guys, and while he was at it, he'd take care of that old geezer Wang Qilin. The "Gravity Group" would be thrown into chaos, haha, the more chaos the better. Then he could take advantage of the company's disarray, make a fortune, and disappear without a trace.

Thinking of this, he almost laughed out loud. Ideally, he could get rid of this terrifying "Heavenly Ghost Inheritor" organization, find a place to hide for two years, and then he could live a carefree life.

But the thought of the "Heavenly Ghost Inheritors" organization gave him a headache. The last remaining "Heavenly Ghost," though terrifying, was no match for the "Inheritors" who were constantly searching for it. This "Inheritor" seemed omnipresent, all-pervasive, with a nose sharper than a dog's. If he needed money, even if he was in a meeting out of town, this guy could find him. He really didn't know how he found him. Just thinking about it gave him a headache. He'd earned a considerable amount of money over the years, but that guy was like a bottomless pit, impossible to fill. He was busy like a money-printing machine, but the "Inheritor's" spending speed was no joke—of course, traveling all over the country meant his spending was bound to be extravagant. A small act of greed in the past had led him into a trap from which he could never escape.

However, he had no doubt about the power of the "Inheritor". He believed that if the guy who killed the first two "Heavenly Ghosts" and beat Feng Xing to death had met the "Inheritor", he would definitely have been chopped up and made into dumpling filling, and then eaten as a delicious meal.

Just as he was lost in thought, a loud "bang" suddenly came from the lounge. Yang Shaoxin jumped in fright, realizing something was wrong. He rushed to the lounge and saw that two chopsticks that had been standing upright were engulfed in flames, and the chopsticks were almost completely burned.

Yang Shaoxin nearly ground his teeth to powder, cursing the two people beside Wang Qilin a thousand times in his heart. These two guys had actually broken the "Little Ghost Curse" he had painstakingly crafted.

Despite his hatred, his mind remained clear. The most urgent matter wasn't gritting his teeth, but finding a way to escape. Now that the "Little Ghost Curse" had been broken, those two guys would likely arrive soon! Money, fame, and status were all irrelevant; survival was his top priority. Although those two probably wouldn't use any spells or magic against him, Wang Qilin would definitely not let him go.

Yang Shaoxin quickly dressed, hastily packed his things, grabbed his credit cards, and rushed out of the office. As he left the "Gravity Building," he took one last look at the building that had once brought him wealth and status, then hailed a taxi and drove away.

He kept calling "Heavenly Ghost" Feng Xing all the way, but that damned guy never answered. "Damn it!" Yang Shaoxin cursed under his breath. Who knew where that guy had gone? Never mind, escaping was the priority. He still had a lot of money in his account; moving to another city would be enough for him to live comfortably for the rest of his life. But thinking about his 10% stake in "Gravity Group," his heart was bleeding—that was hundreds of millions! But he couldn't worry about that now; he needed to figure out how to get rid of that "inheritor"!

However, despite having been in contact with this "inheritor" for so long, I've never actually seen his face. Every time I meet this guy, he's wearing big sunglasses, his trench coat collar covers half his face, and in the summer he wears a wide-brimmed sun hat. He takes the money and leaves. I always feel like I know him, but I just can't remember who he is.

After getting off the bus, Wang Qilin first withdrew some money from an ATM. The past few days of anxiety had left him ravenously hungry; he needed to eat something before continuing his journey.

Yang Shaoxin found a small restaurant, ordered a few home-style dishes and two bottles of beer, and sat down to drink. To be honest, after being used to eating big, meaty dishes, he really enjoyed these home-style stir-fries, especially the "boiled pork slices," which made him feel very hungry.

Lin Feng and Qi Qi felt they should confront Yang Shaoxin directly, so they went straight to Yang Shaoxin's office after leaving President Wang's office. Upon arriving at Yang Shaoxin's office door, the assistant outside, recognizing them as people close to the boss, quickly stood up and asked, "What can I do for you two?"

Lin Feng said, "We have something to ask Yang Shaoxin!"

The assistant was immediately displeased. They didn't even address him as "General Manager Yang," but instead called him by his first name. Weren't they just the boss's secretary and bodyguard? What was so special about them? So, with a cold face, he said, "Did you two come to see General Manager Yang at General Manager Wang's behest, or did you come of your own accord?"

Lin Feng could tell what was going on just by looking at his assistant's expression. He said, "It was President Wang who sent us to find them!"

The assistant, looking very apologetic, said, "I'm so sorry, Mr. Yang just went out!"

Qiqi quickly asked, "Do you know where he went?"

The assistant rolled his eyes and said, "Where he goes is none of our business, his subordinates." His implication was that it was none of their concern where General Manager Yang went.

Lin Feng glanced at his watch and asked, "How long has he been gone?"

The assistant was getting impatient; he wasn't a criminal. But then he suddenly wondered why the bodyguard had followed them. He'd never heard of a company CEO's bodyguard being so nosy. Had Yang Shaoxin gotten into some trouble? Thinking this, he immediately put on a smiling face and said, "We've been walking for almost 10 minutes!"

Lin Feng punched his left palm with his right fist and said, "Damn it, I was a step too late, he got away!"

Upon hearing this, the assistant knew Yang Shaoxin was doomed and immediately fawned, "Is there anything I can do to help you two?"

Lin Feng waved his hand and said, "No need!" Then he added, "Before he left, did he stay in his office the whole time and not come out?"

The assistant said, "Yes, he instructed that he needed to rest and no one was allowed to enter. Then, ten minutes ago, he suddenly left in a hurry!"

Lin Feng patted his assistant on the shoulder and said, "Thank you, could we go in and take a look?"

The assistant thought for a moment and said, "No problem!" Then he smiled at Lin Feng, opened the office door, and gestured for him to enter.

Lin Feng and Qi Qi quickly discovered the items in the lounge upon entering, leaving the assistant speechless with astonishment. Lin Feng warned him not to divulge this information, or he would suggest to President Wang that he send the assistant home to cool off. The assistant nodded hastily in agreement; he dared not jeopardize his job, for he had a beautiful, thirty-year-old wife and a lovely one-year-old son at home.

Book 3, Ghostly Chapter 51: Crisis (4)

When Feng Xing woke up, he checked his phone and found several missed calls, all from Yang Shaoxin. But when he tried to call back, the phone was switched off. Feng Xing glanced at the time on his phone. Damn, he'd slept for a long time, more than a day, and it was already the afternoon of the second day.
