Capítulo 59

Professor Song: "That's easy, I also brought a voice recorder... What if, I mean, what if something really happens to you?"

Feng Junzi: "If anything is really wrong, call Grandpa Xiao, or you can call that girl Xiao Yunyi... Alright. Let's begin."

With everything prepared, Feng Junzi sat on the stool opposite Chang Wu and put on the ring. The ring felt heavy on his ring finger and exuded a chilling aura. After putting on the ring, Feng Junzi took a few deep breaths and slowly closed his eyes.

Feng Junzi sat there motionless, as if in deep meditation. After a few minutes, Chang Wu and Professor Song exchanged glances, coughed, and asked Feng Junzi in a dignified voice, "What's your name?"

As Chang Wu spoke, Feng Junzi slowly opened his eyes. His eyes lacked their usual brilliance, filled with confusion and bewilderment—clearly not the usual Feng Junzi's gaze. Looking at Chang Wu in his police uniform, he replied in a bewildered tone, "My name is Liang Yingying. Who are you? How did I get here?"

These words came from Feng Junzi's mouth, but it wasn't his voice. It sounded soft and clear, clearly a woman's accent. Chang Wu and Professor Song both got goosebumps, and at the same time, they both knew that Feng Junzi had successfully possessed the body!

...

Feng Junzi entered a deep meditative state, unaware of the duration. In truth, Feng Junzi had rarely practiced meditation in the past decade or so. If it weren't for his recent investigation into the "spiritual chopsticks" incident, he probably wouldn't have imagined his former ability to enter a meditative state. Under these circumstances, he rarely maintained a meditative state for more than an hour at a time. This time, Feng Junzi felt the meditative state was particularly deep, but he lacked the joyful feeling typically associated with meditation; it seemed he was in a state of deep hypnosis. His consciousness in the meditative state was empty, and within this emptiness, there was a faint unease. Perhaps it was precisely because of this unease that, after only half an hour, Feng Junzi rose from his seat.

Feng Junzi opened his eyes, took off his ring, and asked, "How was it just now?" His question startled Chang Wu and Professor Song. Chang Wu stood up, and Professor Song nearly fell off his chair. The two shouted, "Feng Junzi, why did you come back so suddenly without even saying goodbye? You scared us to death!"

Feng Junzi: "How should I greet you? You two are really strange. Being possessed by a ghost didn't scare you, but my words scared you instead... Tell me quickly, what did I just say?"

Chang Wu looked grim. Professor Song handed him a few pages of paper and said, "This has caused a lot of trouble. Take a look for yourself. Even Chang Wu doesn't know what to do!"

Feng Junzi took the pages of paper, which contained a record of the conversation between "Liang Yingying" and Chang Wu. The more Feng Junzi read, the deeper his brows furrowed. After finishing, he gasped in shock!

Part 5, Goddess's Heart, Episode 12, Liang Yingying

Liang Yingying, female, 19 years old, unmarried, originally from Wucheng, Province A, is a fellow townsman of Chang Wu and Feng Junzi. Feng Junzi's guess was correct; she didn't know she was dead, only remembering falling asleep and waking up to find a policeman sitting in front of her, questioning her. Feng Junzi had told Chang Wu beforehand, but Chang Wu didn't reveal the truth, only telling Liang Yingying that the police had brought her here for questioning during a night patrol and that she should answer the questions truthfully. Liang Yingying herself was unaware that four years had passed.

Although Liang Yingying and Chang Wu were from the same hometown, she had never been to Wucheng. Her grandfather's generation had migrated to Binhai from Northeast China and settled in Suoyuquan, a suburb of Binhai City. Liang Yingying grew up in Binhai. To Feng Junzi's surprise, Liang Yingying was not a hostess at the Hanhao Bath Center, but a room attendant at the Hanhao Hotel.

When Liang Yingying graduated from high school at eighteen, her family didn't let her go to university. Instead, through an acquaintance, she got a job as a waitress at the Hanhao Hotel. Chang Wu didn't have time to ask about these details, focusing instead on what happened before she "fell asleep." It was the evening of April 28th, four years ago. The housekeeping manager asked her to go to the VIP room of the Hanhao International Club on the 20th floor to "pour tea" for the guests. At that time, the Hanhao Group hadn't yet undergone shareholding reform; the Hanhao International Club and the Hanhao Bath Center were both part of the Hanhao Hotel.

Liang Yingying knew what "pouring tea" meant; it actually meant accompanying guests to drink, play cards, and have some fun. Hanhao International Club, ostensibly a high-end, successful people's leisure and social venue, was in reality an underground casino. Many people gambled here, and whether it was a habit from Hong Kong or American movies, some liked to have a woman accompany them while playing cards. Hugging, touching, chatting, helping to count the money. Although it felt strange at first, it didn't bother them later, because there were always considerable tips.

Originally, if customers wanted to find women, Hanhao Bath Center had plenty of prostitutes. However, over time, some customers became picky and no longer preferred the prostitutes from entertainment venues, instead setting their sights on respectable women. Whether the women they found were truly respectable was hard to say. At least, that's how it appeared on the surface.

Liang Yingying wasn't a "Miss," but a room attendant, specifically working in deluxe suites. She was slender and pretty, with a charming and delicate appearance (this wasn't apparent in the initial conversation; Feng Junzi learned this later). Recently, she caught the eye of a Mr. Sun, who was staying at the Hanhao Hotel. This Mr. Sun, in his thirties, seemed to be someone of importance; even the hotel management bowed and scraped before him, calling him "Young Master Sun." This Mr. Sun had only met Liang Yingying a few times, but seemed to have already taken a liking to her. He tried several times to invite her out to dinner and even gave her small gifts, all of which Liang Yingying carefully declined.

That day, the manager asked her to go to the club to "serve tea," which actually meant accompanying this Mr. Sun. This wasn't the first time Liang Yingying had served tea to guests, but she didn't really want to accompany Mr. Sun. She couldn't explain why, but she just felt a bad impression of him. She wanted to stay away from him—it was a woman's intuition. Moreover, she had been feeling very down lately because she had discovered that her beloved boyfriend was having an affair. It turned out that he had been using the money she gave him to cheat on her, and she had just had a huge fight with him.

Although reluctant, she had no choice but to go upstairs. For a room attendant to earn this kind of extra money was a form of moral decay. While everyone's fall from grace has a process, once you're on this path, there aren't many other options. Among the guests in the private room were the Hong Kong owner of the Hanhao Hotel, a man of unknown origin (everyone called him General Manager Wang), and Director Li, who, judging from his manner of speaking, was the head of the Public Security Bureau.

That night, Young Master Sun had a lucky streak, winning a considerable amount of money and becoming quite excited. His hands were constantly wandering over Liang Yingying's body. Later, Young Master Sun suggested that everyone play some games together, drinking and singing in a private room. Liang Yingying also drank quite a bit. Towards the end, Young Master Sun took out a packet of white powder and told the four women in the room to use it for a quickie.

The so-called "King-inducing" involved spreading white powder on a table, drawing lines with a card, and then inhaling it through a straw. It was said that after using King-inducing, one would feel light and incredibly comfortable. Liang Yingying had never touched anything like this before and didn't want to. However, the three women in the room all inhaled it. Seeing that Liang Yingying wasn't inhaling, and that the men present, especially Young Master Sun and the hotel's Hong Kong owner, looked extremely displeased, they coaxed and forced her to inhale it as well. They told her there would be no harm, and that she would actually feel very comfortable.

Forced into a corner, Liang Yingying also inhaled the white powder. She indeed felt light and airy, as if floating on clouds, and couldn't help but want to fly. Young Master Sun seemed to be watching her intently, making her drink quite a bit more wine and playing King several times. Later, Liang Yingying felt her body becoming lighter and lighter, almost as if she were about to fly into the sky… and then, she knew nothing more. When she opened her eyes, she saw Chang Wu.

...

After the interrogation was organized, this was all the information Feng Junzi could obtain. Before Chang Wu could ask for more details, Feng Junzi had already opened his eyes and removed the ring. While Feng Junzi was reviewing the materials, Chang Wu remained silent with a gloomy face. Seeing that Feng Junzi had finished reading the materials, he said in a deep voice, "This is a big problem. We have leads on the drugs, but we can't trace the people involved."

Feng Junzi: "Tell me, who have been implicated?"

Chang Wu: "The director of the Municipal Bureau is indeed surnamed Li. Four years ago, he was still the deputy director, and last year he was promoted to director. Director Li's physical characteristics match Liang Yingying's description. Director Li's promotion is largely due to Vice Mayor Sun. He was promoted by Vice Mayor Sun, who is in charge of political and legal affairs and served as the secretary of the Municipal Political and Legal Committee four years ago. Mayor Sun has two sons, the elder named Sun Weidong and the younger named Sun Weixi. Sun Weixi's characteristics match the 'Young Master Sun' described by Liang Yingying." (Note by Xu Gongzi: Sun Weidong's story and ending are introduced in the fourth book, "The Psychic Chopsticks," which is not very relevant to this article. When Chang Wu and Feng Junzi staged the "Black Basin Story," the "Lin Zhenzhen's Humiliation" incident had not yet occurred.)

After hearing Chang Wu's words, not only Feng Junzi, but even Professor Song, an outsider, gasped. Professor Song also knew about Chang Wu's undercover investigation of the drug trafficking case. He had many concerns, and he said to Feng Junzi and Chang Wu, "The drug trafficking case at Hanhao Bath Center is probably not as simple as it seems. Your bureau chief wants you to investigate privately; he's probably using you as a pawn. Chang Wu, be careful. You're just a lowly deputy captain of the criminal investigation team. Don't get involved in the power struggles in Binhai City!"

Part 5 Goddess's Heart 13: The Secret of the Eyes

Chang Wu, Feng Junzi, and Professor Song were not simple-minded people, but after discussing the materials for a long time, they still couldn't come up with a good solution. Clearly, this was something that couldn't be presented openly. Liang Yingying had been dead for four years, so even though the recording was available, this conversation transcript couldn't be used as evidence. Even if it could be used as evidence, Chang Wu wouldn't just present it like that—often, law enforcement officers are not concerned with evidence, but with strategy.

The final agreement was to pretend nothing had happened, using it merely as a clue, with Chang Wu continuing his undercover work. Of course, the transcript wasn't entirely meaningless; it pointed in two directions: first, to investigate Liang Yingying's cause of death; and second, to investigate the drug trail from those around that young master Sun. Before leaving, Professor Song warned Chang Wu: "Be very careful when investigating Liang Yingying. Only investigate her background; don't directly investigate the details of her death, or you'll get into trouble. Also, don't let anyone know you're investigating that young master Sun. Only try to find out what kind of henchmen he has around him; otherwise, you won't be able to continue as a policeman."

After Professor Song left, Feng Junzi looked at Chang Wu with a wry smile. He knew that Old Song was telling the truth, and that he was doing it all for Chang Wu's good. However, from Chang Wu's perspective, it was a difficult situation. Chang Wu was a good person and wholeheartedly wanted to be a good policeman. But being a good policeman required him to continue wearing that uniform. Feng Junzi had stumbled upon this strange, unusable clue, which led to the involvement of the city police chief and the mayor's son, putting Chang Wu in a truly difficult position.

Chang Wu smoked silently, and Feng Junzi knew what he was thinking. He asked Chang Wu, "Chang Wu, are you working for the citizens in your jurisdiction or for your bureau chief?"

Chang Wu replied with a wry smile, "Speaking of it, of course it's about serving the people. But in practice, it's about my job as the bureau chief."

Feng Junzi smiled: "It's good that you've figured it out. That's just how it is. Do things for others, but live your own life. You need to know how to do things your own way."

Chang Wu: "You make it sound so easy. What am I supposed to do?"

Feng Junzi: "Pretend you know nothing. Don't report anything. Continue investigating the case, and we'll talk again if we find any other clues. Also, this whole Liang Yingying thing was my doing, and according to my rules, I'm going to get to the bottom of it."

Chang Wu: "Do you think I'm stupid? How can I report something like this? Looks like we'll have to go to Hanhao again."

Feng Junzi: "You pay, I enjoy, of course I have no problem with this. Just be careful not to go too often, it's not good to attract too much attention. Go once every one or two weeks, just to become a regular customer."

...

A week later, on another weekend, Feng Junzi and Chang Wu returned to the Hanhao Bath Center. This time, Feng Junzi wasn't wearing her ring—the jade ring was still at Chang Wu's house. After bathing and steaming, they went to the rest area to lie down for a while, as usual. Shortly after lying down, Chang Wu whispered to Feng Junzi, "Did you spot any familiar faces?"

Feng Junzi: "Those young ladies all look very familiar to me; I already saw them once before."

Chang Wu: "I was talking about guests, not prostitutes... There are six guests in the lounge today that I've seen before..."

Feng Junzi: "I'm not a policeman, I don't have that professional habit. Point them out to me... There's one college student, two businessmen, one who's probably a minor official, and the other two are gangsters."

Chang Wu was slightly surprised and said, "How can you be so sure? These people are all wearing bathrobes. Are you sure?"

Feng Junzi laughed and said, "Even if you strip naked in the bath, it's the same. This is physiognomy. So-called physiognomy is actually observing the heart. Your appearance reflects your heart, do you understand?"

Chang Wu: "I don't know anything about physiognomy. But after working as a policeman for a long time, I can indeed judge a person's general profession by their words and actions, but it's not as magical as you say."

Feng Junzi: "I'm not entirely sure either, I'm just guessing. Do you remember when we were in high school, there was a Phoenix Bridge in Wucheng? There were many fortune tellers and physiognomists at the head of the Phoenix Bridge, one of whom was surnamed Zhang. His physiognomy skills were amazing, and I learned a few tricks from him."

Chang Wu: "Don't talk about your past. I heard that when you were in college, you often read palms for female students and tricked them into buying you meals... Aren't you the guy who asked for a box in 'Liu Laogen'? You said those two over there are gangsters, and they look like them to me..." Before Chang Wu could finish speaking, a waiter came over and asked, "Gentlemen, would you like any services? Do you know any ladies?"

Before Feng Junzi could speak, Chang Wu subconsciously replied, "Let's call them Number 29 and Number 18."

Feng Junzi glanced at Chang Wu but said nothing. Number 29 was Xingyu, the girl who had accompanied Chang Wu last time, and number 18 was Yangyang, whose real name was Zhao Xue, who had accompanied him last time. Many people who frequent these entertainment venues have a habit of seeking out the girls who accompanied them last time. They feel shy about seeking out other girls, but once they become familiar with each other, they start to pick and choose, and eventually, they become more fixed on their chosen ones. Feng Junzi understood Chang Wu's mentality, and at the same time, he wanted to see how Zhao Xue was doing. The time Zhao Xue was possessed by a ghost was purely unintentional on Feng Junzi's part, and Feng Junzi still felt a little guilty.

The waiter said a little embarrassedly, "Number 18 is on duty. I'll call number 29 over first. Or, could this gentleman find another one?"

Feng Junzi: "Call number 29 over first, I can wait."

...

When Liu Xin walked over, she first saw Feng Junzi (no wonder, he's so fair-skinned), and frowned slightly. Then she saw Chang Wu and smiled naturally. She turned to sit next to Chang Wu, habitually touching the top of his thigh with her hand, and said in a sweet, coquettish voice, "Brother Chang, you're here again! I haven't seen you for over a week, I really missed you!"

Chang Wu shrank back slightly without saying a word. Feng Junzi chimed in, "Number 29, you have such a good memory! You only remember Brother Chang who accompanied you last time, how come you don't remember me? I even went to your house."

Liu Xin laughed and said, "Oh, it's Brother Feng! Sorry I didn't see you earlier. By the way, why did you leave so suddenly last time? You even took the ring with you... Didn't you say you were going to buy it back?"

Feng Junzi: "I was planning to buy it back... but that's for the 18th, it's none of your business."

Liu Xin: "Why didn't you hire a prostitute, Brother Feng? I can introduce you to one."

Feng Junzi: "You don't need to worry about that, you can rest assured. As long as you keep Brother Chang company—we're not planning on a threesome. I'm waiting for Yangyang, she hasn't finished her shift yet. Brother Chang, why don't you go into the private room first?"

Chang Wu: "I'll wait with you. We'll go in together in a bit. Xingyu, go and call the waiter. Bring two bottles of beer."

Liu Xin: "No need to call the waiter, I'll get it for you. Would you like it chilled?"

Liu Xin got up to get a beer, just as Zhao Xue finished her shift. She walked from the front right door of the lounge to the changing room at the back, where Feng Junzi saw her. Just as Feng Junzi was about to greet her, Chang Wu leaned over and whispered to him, "I've seen this person before."

The person Chang Wu was referring to was a young man who followed Zhao Xue out. Feng Junzi frowned upon seeing him—he'd seen this person before! Feng Junzi wasn't Chang Wu. Lacking the professional habits of a policeman, he hadn't paid much attention to who was around last time, but he remembered this person.

Last time, when Zhao Xue finished her service and was about to return to the rest area, she suddenly turned back because she saw her younger brother, Zhao Lei, lying in the rest area directly opposite the door. Feng Junzi had overheard her conversation with Liu Xin, so he booked Zhao Xue for the entire night and told her to go back to the private room. Zhao Xue's younger brother had come to celebrate a classmate's birthday last time; there were several students in the lobby at the time, including him.

Chang Wu had initially said there were six guests who had visited before, and Feng Junzi had mentioned that one of them might be a university student. Adding this one, that makes seven people, including two university students, who are likely together. Sure enough, this new person sat down next to the student who looked like a university student. The two whispered a few words to each other, suggesting they had come together. Feng Junzi glanced around; Zhao Xue's younger brother wasn't there, but the two people had come with him, indicating they were classmates.

Feng Junzi frowned because of Zhao Xue. The bathhouse was bustling with customers, and unless they were regulars, the women rarely remembered who they had slept with. It seemed the women here didn't remember the two college students, but Feng Junzi did. Seeing that the man and Zhao Xue came out one after the other, he must have booked Zhao Xue's services. Feng Junzi wondered: Did Zhao Xue know that the customer she had just slept with might be her younger brother's classmate?

Of course, Feng Junzi was only thinking about it; he didn't want to tell Zhao Xue about it, and there was no way he could. While he was lost in thought, Number 18 and Number 29 arrived with their beers. As soon as Zhao Xue saw Feng Junzi, she sat down beside him, touching his bare chest, and said, "Brother Feng, it's you! I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting so long. I haven't thanked you for visiting me last time!"

Feng Junzi smiled bitterly to himself: I didn't go to see you, I went to see a ghost! But he said aloud, "Zhao Xue, are you feeling better? Are you alright now?"

Zhao Xue replied softly, "Brother Feng, don't call me by my name here. Call me Yangyang, and call me Zhao Xue when we go outside."

Liu Xin, who was standing nearby, said, "Yangyang, you really should thank Brother Feng. Brother Feng said he would buy back that ring last time, but he forgot to give you the money after taking the ring. He's going to return it to you this time."

Feng Junzi was furious. Why did this woman, number 29, have to bring up such a sore spot? He had kindly gone to rescue this lady, and now she was acting like he owed her money! Why did she dislike him so much? Entertainment venues are places where you pay for entertainment; you shouldn't have to put up with the hostesses' rudeness. Strangely, Feng Junzi actually tolerated it! He said to Zhao Xue, "Xingyu is right, I did forget last time. How about I treat you to dinner another day… Let's go into a private room and take my drinks there."

Chang Wu didn't speak, but Liu Xin interjected, "Don't drink in the private room. They start recording the time when you go in, and that costs money. Brother Chang, you should finish your drink here before going in." As she spoke, she glanced at Feng Junzi, as if to say: Anyway, you're not paying the bill, you don't care about other people's money!

Hearing this, Feng Junzi felt a little strange. The prostitutes here were all eager to earn more from their customers' hourly rates, so why was this number 29 saving Chang Wu money? It seemed she had a very good impression of Chang Wu! But her impression of him was clearly terrible. She always seemed to be subconsciously working against him. Feng Junzi didn't say anything and held back.

Before long, they each finished a bottle of beer. Zhao Xue asked Feng Junzi, "Brother Feng, what kind of service do you want this time? Still that 'ants not climbing a tree' thing?"

Feng Junzi: "No, forget that. This time, follow the national industry standards. Give me an oil massage. Do you use palm oil or olive oil for your massages here?"

Zhao Xue: "No, it's not that. It's a special moisturizing oil that feels amazing. You'll know once you try it..."

Hanhao's prices are higher than regular saunas, and there's a reason for that. The sheets are changed daily, and a large, soft, white towel is laid out specifically for the oil massage. Before the massage, Zhao Xue lit an incense burner. Feng Junzi could smell a faint aphrodisiac scent in it. The body oil seemed to be specially made; it felt cool on the skin, but when the masseuse's soft hands gently rubbed it against his skin, it generated a warm current, making every touch stimulating.

A massage lasts 45 minutes, following a standard procedure: 15 minutes on the back, 15 minutes on the front, and the last 15 minutes are mainly for teasing and stimulating the genitals. That professional technique is much more enjoyable than masturbating. Last time, Feng Junzi didn't do oral sex, but this time he ordered handjobs.

...

After the clock rang, Zhao Xue delivered the order and ran into Liu Xin again in the corridor. Liu Xin asked her, "What did Brother Feng order this time?"

Zhao Xue laughed and said, "This time there wasn't much of a fancy thing, I just ordered a standard aromatherapy massage. This time I saved Brother Chang money... I'm exhausted, I couldn't even finish the massage! My arms are sore!"

If Feng Junzi heard this, he would probably smile wryly. It's not that Zhao Xue's methods weren't stimulating enough. It's just that the environment here is wrong. If you were lying there and constantly heard ghostly wailing sounds in your ears, it would be difficult to reach arousal.

Back in the lobby, the two sat for a while longer. Then Liu Xin came over to Feng Junzi and said, "Brother Feng, I remember you said you'd treat Yangyang to a meal to pay back the money. When are you going to treat us? Could you bring me and Brother Chang along too?"

Liu Xin kept staring at Feng Junzi. Feng Junzi had no choice but to reply, "The day after tomorrow, Sunday, I'm treating Yangyang to dinner, and Brother Chang will be there too. You should come too."

Liu Xin: "Brother Feng, what if you go back on your word? Why don't you leave your phone number?"

Upon hearing this, Feng Junzi's heart suddenly skipped a beat, and he gave Chang Wu a strange look. He realized that Liu Xin didn't seem to be deliberately asking for his phone number, but rather trying to get close to Chang Wu? What was going on? Did this young lady have a crush on Officer Chang? That seemed a bit too much! Feng Junzi didn't say anything and gave her his phone number. This phone number wasn't his own; Chang Wu had prepared two China Mobile SIM cards for each of them before they came to the bathhouse, without requiring ID cards.

At this moment, Chang Wu asked, "Xiao Feng, are we going to spend the night here again?"

Feng Junzi: "I'm not here anymore! Listening to ghosts singing in the middle of the night is worse than going to a karaoke bar to sing!"

"Going to sing karaoke? Sure! When are you going? Take me with you!" Zhao Xue walked over with a glass of water. According to the service rules of the bathhouse, if a guest returns to the lobby from a private room to rest, the hostess who served them should bring them a glass of mineral water to quench their thirst.

Feng Junzi: "I'll treat you to dinner on Sunday, and then we'll go sing karaoke! It's up to you whether you come or not, but if you go to karaoke, it might interfere with your business."

Feng Junzi's first statement was quite good, and Liu Xin was initially pleased. However, his subsequent words filled her with resentment. She thought to herself, "This Feng is really disgusting. Why does he have to be so blunt? It's like he's constantly reminding me of my identity—a hostess at a bathhouse." That was indeed the case, but there was no need to say it so often! She thought that if she went to dinner and karaoke with Chang Ge, even though it meant missing out on a night's earnings, she would be willing. How could she only work and have no personal life or entertainment? Liu Xin's dislike for Feng Junzi deepened.

...

When Feng Junzi and Chang Wu were settling their bill, two other guests also checked out and left. These two guests came out one after the other. Feng Junzi and Chang Wu put on their shoes on the sofa in the lobby, lit cigarettes, and sat for a while. After the two guests had left, Feng Junzi whispered in Chang Wu's ear, "Chang Wu, did you notice those two people? One left, and the other left right after, but deliberately didn't leave together."

Chang Wu: "Actually, I've been paying attention. Aren't those two the kind of thugs you described? I saw them last weekend. Are you saying they deliberately didn't walk together? Maybe they didn't even know each other?"

Feng Junzi: "That's impossible. I'm sure they know each other, but they're pretending not to."

Chang Wu: "How can you be so sure?"

"Eye contact and physical distance. Chang Wu, you should know that two strangers might occasionally make eye contact, but it won't last long, and they'll inevitably look away. Everyone should have had this experience in public. Strangers tend to maintain a psychological distance unconsciously, but when their eyes meet, there's no such psychological distance, and people naturally feel unsafe. It's different with familiar people. For example, when two of us make eye contact, we might feel a little awkward, but we won't look away."

Chang Wu: "So you noticed it too. Actually, I noticed it as well. When one of them was looking around the hall one evening, he made eye contact with the other person for at least two seconds. Neither of them looked away, which is definitely not normal—they are not strangers. But when their eyes met, they didn't say anything or nod to each other, which means they were deliberately pretending not to know each other—there might be something wrong with these two people."
