Atavismo - Capítulo 26
The toilets were built on the west side of the main teaching building, right next to the wall, and outside the wall was a towering mountain.
Zhao Longteng looked at the terrain, his expression growing increasingly solemn. He muttered to himself, "The toilet is actually built on top of the 'Mountain Nether Cave,' no wonder it's so eerie." Gu Feng didn't know what he was referring to, but he was certain it wasn't a good thing.
Sun He led them to the door, refusing to take another step. The old man and the young man shook their heads speechlessly; the psychological shadow he carried was too heavy.
The dim light was still on. The old Taoist priest walked straight to the edge of pit number three, where the door panel had been broken. He glanced into the pit a few times, then took out two yellow talismans from his pocket, recited two words of incantation, and threw them into the pit. He then watched the reaction.
Looking inside from a heightened vantage point, there's absolutely no change!
The old Taoist priest muttered something to himself, looking like he hadn't given up, and took out two more yellow talismans and threw them down.
Gu Feng was a little surprised... because there was still no reaction? Could it be that his grandfather's Taoist magic was fake?
Zhao Longteng asked, puzzled, "The yin energy in the pit is so thick, it's strange that there are no ghosts hiding there?"
Gu Feng said, "But didn't Sun He just say..."
The old Taoist priest said, "That's why I'm puzzled. It seems that what's in the pit is no ordinary thing!"
Gu Feng asked, "Then what do we do?"
The old Taoist priest lowered his head and pondered for a while, then said, "We'll discuss this further tonight."
Upon stepping outside, Sun He hurriedly approached and asked, "Master, how is it?"
The two shook their heads, and the old Taoist priest said, "I'm going to perform a ritual tonight, and I don't believe I can't lure him out."
Sun He asked, "Then what should I do?"
The old Taoist priest listed out all the items needed for the altar, and Sun nodded in agreement.
Before we knew it, the sun had set and the moon had risen; it was already 11:30 p.m.
An altar had been set up next to the toilet. The old Taoist priest was chanting incantations, shaking a wooden sword, and throwing yellow talismans into the sky one after another.
There were probably several dozen people gathered around. Apart from Shixin Gufeng, the others were probably school leaders who had been summoned back by Sun He.
After making a ruckus for a while, seeing that it was almost dawn, Zhao Longteng threw the wooden sword on the table and took the golden, enchanting "Golden Dragon Demon-Slaying Sword" off his back.
Although no one had ever introduced this sword to Gu Feng, he could readily name it, knew its characteristics, and even clearly understood that the hilt was engraved with seventy-three Tai Chi symbols.
Gu Feng didn't know what was going on. Ever since he saw the sword last night, he had had the urge to touch it, but seeing his grandfather carrying it on his back like a treasure and never leaving it, he gave up the idea.
Seeing it drawn again, a strange impulse surged within Gu Feng once more!
The old Taoist priest gripped the sword hilt tightly with both hands, spat a mouthful of chicken blood onto the sword, and shouted like a muffled thunderclap, "Lord Laozi, may your decree be swiftly granted! Golden sword, vanquish demons... Forgive me!"
As the word "pardon" was uttered, a golden light, imbued with the force of thunder, rushed towards the filthy and dilapidated toilet, completely obscuring the dim yellow light emanating from within. Its powerful momentum seemed to foreshadow the toilet's impending destruction.
However, with a "hey!" from Gu Feng, the situation took an unexpected turn!

I'm so sorry to have kept everyone waiting for so many days. To be honest, I haven't fully recovered from the trauma of my grandfather's passing. My mind is blank, and I don't want to do anything. It seems some of my friends still value me; the number of favorites hasn't dropped after all these days. I'm forcing myself to write this little bit as a way of thanking everyone. If nothing else happens tomorrow, I should be able to get back to one chapter a day, right? But… who knows what other weird things might happen! Sigh…
Demon-Slaying Sword

Chapter 37 of Volume 2: No Shadow
The magnificent sword light of the Demon-Slaying Sword surged onto the dirty and fragile toilet wall. At this moment, the faint yellow light of the light bulb, which should have been swallowed by the golden light, was surprisingly tenacious. Even under such intense light, it still retained its true nature, piercing straight through the warm golden light, which was extremely irritating.
Sweat beaded on the old Taoist's forehead, and his hand holding the Demon-Slaying Sword trembled slightly.
Although he was mentally prepared, he still underestimated the situation! The old Taoist shouted, holding the sword in his left hand and forming a 'Demon-Slaying Knot' with his right fingers, channeling spiritual power into the sword once more.
Compared to the spiritual roots of the object in the toilet, which were connected to the earth and filled with ghostly energy, and which was located in the Yin Cave of the Mountain, the old Taoist priest's unprepared and rash sword strike was no match for it. The effect of the Demon-Slaying Knot was also negligible. As the temperature of the sword in his hand gradually cooled down, Zhao Longteng's heart skipped a beat: "This is bad!"
However, the ghostly energy was entangled and stuck, making it impossible to break free!
If there were someone nearby who knew a little about this, they would have been able to see the Taoist priest's current precarious situation. But the people around were just there to watch the show, and they all said that the old Taoist priest was really capable, able to use an iron sword as a light bulb. Judging by the brightness, it must be more than a hundred watts.
Gu Feng's heart suddenly stirred slightly, as if he had sensed something. Looking at his grandfather's back, his eyes were a little blank. He couldn't quite put his finger on what that feeling represented.
"Perhaps I need to go up and help him." Gu Feng made up his mind and stepped forward.
Grandpa's forehead was covered in sweat, and his body was trembling slightly as if he couldn't bear the weight. Gu Feng called out and immediately realized that he was trapped and unable to get out, so he grabbed the old Taoist's shoulder to help him pull him out.
Suddenly, everyone seemed to understand what was going on. They all stepped forward and pulled hard. The point where the light met seemed to be glued together. With everyone's hard work, it finally loosened a little and then was completely released.
The golden light that extinguished the demon vanished in an instant, but the light bulb in the toilet still emitted its eerie, weak glow.
In the light, a distorted face suddenly seemed to appear, with a sinister smile?!
For a moment, Shi Xin thought she was seeing things. Seeing Gu Feng and the others squatting on the ground, busy tending to the unconscious old Taoist priest and oblivious to her presence, Shi Xin rubbed her eyes and looked again. Only after confirming there was nothing there did she realize she was just imagining things…
Gu Feng helped Zhao Longteng up and told everyone to pack up their things and leave this awful place quickly. Sun He led the way and took him to the living room where he lay down on the bed.
Shixin followed slowly behind the group, her heart pounding. She was already at the very back, so why did she feel like someone was following her?
Looking back again and again, all that remained for her was the pitch-black night and the rustling wind. Shixin hunched her shoulders and quickened her pace with a hint of panic…
Suddenly, a boy under the streetlight ahead caught his attention. He was fair-skinned and had a refined appearance. He was wearing large glasses and it was easy to imagine that he was the kind of person who studied diligently and lived meticulously. In layman's terms, he was a "bookworm".
Shi Xin saw him standing alone under the streetlight, as if waiting for someone, so she went up to the big guy and asked, "Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with?"
The man smiled slightly at her and suddenly said, "You are very beautiful."
Shixin never expected that this boy, who seemed nice, would speak so frivolously. She raised her eyebrows and turned to leave.
The man hurriedly reached out and stopped her, saying, "Miss, I...I didn't mean to be disrespectful to you, you are really beautiful."
Seeing his anxious look, Shi Xin chuckled and said, "Why are you so nervous?"
The man asked, "Aren't you angry anymore?" Shixin smiled and said, "Since you weren't being frivolous, what's there to be angry about when someone praises you?"
The man fell silent for a moment. Shi Xin noticed a hint of bitterness and helplessness in his eyes and asked curiously, "What's wrong?"
The man sighed, "If only Feifei had thought like you back then."
"Non-non?"
The man glanced at Shi Xin and said, "My ex-girlfriend."
Shih-hsin: "And now?"
“He thought I was old-fashioned and dumped me in front of the whole class!” He stared at Shixin and said, “You’re just as pretty as him, no, no, you’re prettier.”
Shixin has always disliked boys who judge people by their appearance. Seeing him constantly talking about whether he was pretty or not, she assumed he was just an honest-looking lecher and felt a bit disgusted.
"What's wrong? Why aren't you saying anything?" the man asked her.
Shixin said, "If there's nothing else, I'll head back now. They've already gone far away."
The man said, "Don't you want to waste any more words with me?"
Shi Xin was startled and quickly shook her head, saying, "No, I didn't mean that."
"You women are all the same, you only like handsome guys and look down on old-fashioned bookworms like me."
Shixin was stunned for a moment: "What did you say?"
The man said, "Isn't that right?" Shi Xin frowned and said, "You're really crazy. Why bring up this kind of topic when we've only just met?"
The man suddenly said, "I like you, Shixin!"
Shi Xin's heart skipped a beat: "How do you know my name?"
The man said, "That's not important. What's important is whether you like me or not."
Shixin felt like laughing: "Sir, we don't even know each other, okay? You're being really strange."
"What nonsense?" The man looked at Shixin with a strange expression. "Would you be willing to date a guy like me who's so cryptic?"
It was truly unbelievable to hear such blunt words coming from someone with such an honest face. It seemed that all sorts of hearts could be hidden beneath that kind exterior.
Shi Xin glared at him angrily: "Classmate, please show some respect."
She was confident she could kick the seemingly frail boy to the ground in three seconds.
The man didn't reply, but just stared at Shixin with a strange look in his eyes.
Shi Xin met his gaze without the slightest fear, her face revealing a stern and unapproachable expression.
The boy suddenly gave a cold laugh, then turned around and slowly walked into the night.
As Shi Xin watched his retreating figure, before she could even breathe a sigh of relief, she immediately noticed something strange—something that confirmed the boy's identity…
Under the white streetlights, the boy walked away into the distance, leaving the ground a blank space...
He...has no shadow?!

No shadow

Volume 2, Chapter 38: Who is he?
After settling Gu Feng's grandfather in, the school even called a doctor, but after nearly half an hour, the doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong, only vaguely summarizing it as him collapsing from exhaustion. Around 3 a.m., Zhao Longteng's complexion finally improved slightly, and Gu Feng breathed a sigh of relief, only to then realize something was amiss…
"Shixin?"
A sudden, heavy feeling settled over me, and an ominous premonition washed over me. It was so late; everyone else had already said goodbye and gone to sleep. The empty living room was empty except for my grandfather, who was still unconscious, and I was all alone.
Gu Feng felt a bit bewildered, the promise he made to Shi Xin the night before was still vivid in his mind...
After a long pause, the golden dragon sword placed beside the bed came into his view. He glanced at his unconscious grandfather, then reached out and picked it up. The metallic texture was very familiar, as if he had caressed the hilt, which was covered with the Tai Chi symbol, thousands of times before…
With it in hand, a sense of pride welled up in Gu Feng's heart. He focused his mind and decided to go back to the toilet to investigate further.
The weather is getting chilly; the early autumn nights already have a touch of winter...
The dim yellow light in the toilet remained on as always, still so enigmatic and eerie.
Gu Feng, holding the heavy Demon-Slaying Sword, kicked open the tightly closed toilet door with a "snap".
"Waaaaah~~~~~~"
A strange, eerie sound came from an unknown place. Gu Feng paused, feeling the temperature of the sword in his hand rise.
The sound faded away quickly, and the space fell into boundless silence once more.
