Las lágrimas de Guanyin - Capítulo 17

Capítulo 17

In that instant, the lights in the interrogation room went out, and the tightly closed iron window swung open with a bang. A strong gust of cold wind rushed in, seemingly chilling to the bone. The black curtains billowed in the wind, like a dark hand trying to snatch someone away. The whooshing sound of the wind was like a terrifying laugh from hell. Suddenly, Pluto let out a heart-wrenching scream, followed by deathly silence. In the darkness, only the rapid breathing and violent heartbeats mingled together. "Snap!" The lights, like a madman, inexplicably came back on. Pluto was slumped in the chair like a pile of mud, no longer breathing, his eyes wide open, filled with terror. A skull, glowing with blue phosphorescence, grinned menacingly at Chen Feng and Yang Jian on Pluto's forehead. The wind, carrying snowflakes, blew in through the open window, but Pluto would never see that beautiful yet desolate snow scene again. Chen Feng's face was ashen, and he remained silent. The officer huddled in his chair, trembling, large beads of cold sweat sliding down Yang Jian's face. An unprecedented fear was gnawing at their hearts. Chen Feng gestured for the officer to go back and rest, leaving Yang Jian behind. The two returned to the office and sat down facing each other. "Is there really a ghost?" Yang Jian looked at Chen Feng, his voice trembling slightly. Chen Feng lit a cigarette, took a puff, and nodded slightly. "Yes." "Just now, when I came back, I saw someone at the door," Yang Jian said. "Who?" Chen Feng frowned.

"Lin Wangchou!" Yang Jian emphasized.

Chen Feng stared at Yang Jian for a long time, as if he were the green-faced skeleton. Yang Jian felt uneasy under his gaze and softly called out, "Captain Chen." Chen Feng looked up blankly, not understanding what Yang Jian was talking about. Yang Jian called again, and he finally snapped out of his reverie. "Captain Chen, what did you say to Pluto just now? Why was he so scared?" Yang Jian asked. Chen Feng lit another cigarette, and through the swirling smoke, he recounted his terrifying experience to Yang Jian.

"I'm going to die!" Pluto managed to utter his last few words, covering his face with his hands. Suddenly, his hands gripped his throat tightly, his face turning ashen, and his eyes rolling back. Chen Feng and Yang Jian jumped up, grabbing Pluto's hands and trying to pry them off. They hadn't expected Pluto to be so strong; it took a lot of effort to finally pull them apart. Chen Feng and Yang Jian breathed a sigh of relief, exchanging glances before looking at the ashen-faced, panting Pluto.
