Je vends des vêtements et j'achète du vin à boire avec toi - Chapitre 98

Chapitre 98

"Resolve? How will it be resolved?" Feng Ning felt like crying, yet also found it ridiculous: "The resolution she's talking about is killing me, the so-called imposter, and then letting you, the so-called real one, return?"

"I can't go back to the Long family." The woman gritted her teeth. "Now that I've come out, no matter what I've been through, I don't plan to go back."

"Even if you want to clear your name, you don't have to kill me. Since she's convinced I'm a puppet hired by the Long family, wouldn't it be better to drag you out and expose me to her face? Wouldn't that be easier and more effective?"

The woman was taken aback. Feng Ning gritted her teeth: "So this doesn't make sense. I am the real Feng Ning. You're trying to deceive me because I've lost my memory. My mother was obsessed with the treasure and wanted revenge for the Feng family. After I lost my memory, I stopped obeying her orders and unintentionally blocked her path. So she hired you to put on this show, isn't that right?" As Feng Ning spoke, she stood up excitedly: "I don't want to hear your fabrications anymore. You're just spouting nonsense. You have no evidence. What you say, I can make up too. Long San is my husband, and Bao'er is my daughter. You can't separate us."

"So you really are with Long San?" The woman frowned and curled her lip, looking disdainful.

Her attitude enraged Feng Ning, who shouted back, "Long San is the best husband, there's no one better than him. I just like him, and I'm with him. What are you going to do about it?"

The woman was also annoyed: "You dare to talk about your affair with my husband in front of me, your legal wife? You really have no shame!"

“You’re spouting nonsense! In front of me, the Third Madam of the Long family, you’re spreading rumors that the Third Madam of the Long family eloped with someone and is still having an affair with her lover. You have no shame, but I’m ashamed for you.” Feng Ning retorted without backing down.

“You know perfectly well that everything I’m saying is true, and it’s no use denying it.” The woman ignored Feng Ning’s sarcasm and went straight to the point.

Feng Ning raised her head and said firmly, "Come back to me when you actually produce evidence, instead of just talking."

After she finished speaking, she turned and walked towards the door. The woman stood up and said urgently, "Regardless of what you think about the authenticity of our identities, don't you want to know why we look so alike?"

Feng Ning stopped. She stood there for a moment, then suddenly turned around and asked, "Why did you marry into the Long family in the first place?"

The woman was taken aback for a moment, then replied, "Since I was little, my mother and father have been talking about the feud between the dragon and the phoenix families. As a member of the phoenix family, it is only natural that I should do my part to avenge them."

"Then why do you want to leave the Long family?"

The woman was silent for a while before finally replying, "Endless loneliness and contempt are more terrifying than hatred."

Feng Ning stared intently at her, then suddenly blurted out, "Serves you right!" before turning and striding away.

"You..." The woman pointed at Feng Ning, about to retort, but could only watch her figure disappear from sight.

Who exactly is she?

Feng Ning walked with her back straight. She turned out of the alleys and returned to the main road. Although it was a small town, it was bustling with activity. The main road was brightly lit and noisy. But Feng Ning felt sad, miserable, and utterly alone.

Who is she? Who is she? Who is she?

She woke up on the shore and was taken back to the Long family. She asked Granny Yu, "Who am I?" Granny Yu replied unhappily, "Your name is Feng Ning, and you are the third wife of the Long family."

Feng Ning felt a cold sweat running down her body, and the lanterns by the roadside were so bright they hurt her eyes.

"Where is my husband? Doesn't he come to see me when I'm sick?" This was the first time she had mentioned Long San. She didn't know him then, but now she loved him so much, she couldn't live without him.

"I am Long San." He said that while looking into her eyes. She was dumbfounded and felt like she had been tricked.

"Sincerity will surely be rewarded." Who told her that? A liar, a complete liar! She was sincere, but fate always plays tricks on her. How she wished she were Feng Ning, she desperately wanted to be Feng Ning!

“Bao’er is our daughter. I will protect you, and I will protect her.” Long San’s words still echoed in her ears, and Feng Ning’s eyes welled up with tears.

“We’re husband and wife, we should live together, you’ll have to get used to it.” Long San’s eyes were bright and his voice was so gentle and pleasant when he said this. Feng Ning felt a tightness in her chest, as if she couldn’t breathe, and her feet felt like they were stuck in the mud.

She is Feng Ning, she is the real Feng Ning!

She worked hard all these years and finally adapted to the identity she hated, and finally found happiness. Why does God always seem to hate her?

"Long San, don't leave me, don't leave me..." Feng Ning dragged her legs, her head buzzing. She felt so dizzy and uncomfortable. "Long San, don't leave me..." Water droplets streamed down her face. Was it raining? Feng Ning stood there blankly, staring blankly at the sky.

"Feng'er..." She seemed to hear someone calling her. Was it Long San?

Before Feng Ning could even turn her gaze from the sky, the person was already in front of her; it was indeed Long San. He frowned, his face full of concern, and carefully examined Feng Ning from head to toe, making sure she was unharmed, before asking, "What's wrong? Why do you look like that?"

Feng Ning met his gentle eyes, opened her mouth, and thought to herself, "Long San, a woman who looks exactly like me jumped out and said she's the real Feng Ning. She doesn't want me to be your wife anymore. Go teach her a lesson and give her a good beating." But she tried hard to speak, yet couldn't. She was afraid. She looked at Long San, opened her mouth again, and finally said, "No sweet and sour fish, no plum duck."

"Huh?" Long San raised an eyebrow in surprise: "You're so hungry you're crying?" He reached out and wiped Feng Ning's face, and only then did Feng Ning realize that she had been crying.

Long San sighed: "My dear wife, other people get sick from overwork, but you get sick from overeating. Other people cry because they're sad, but you cry because you're craving something?"

Feng Ning threw herself into Long San's arms and burst into tears. Long San stroked her hair: "What's wrong with you today? You were playing so well during the day, why are you making a fuss at night? Auntie told me you went to the restaurant to buy some good food, didn't you? What, they didn't have any?"

Feng Ning couldn't speak, she just nodded. Long San felt extremely sorry for her, he knew how greedy his little devil was, so he coaxed her, "If there's nothing, then you won't eat, okay? You don't like the food Auntie makes, so when we get back I'll make you smoked meat and egg noodles, you love my noodles the most, I'll make them when we get back, okay?"

All Feng Ning could do was nod. Her mind was in turmoil. What if she really wasn't Feng Ning? She wasn't Long San's wife, she wasn't Bao'er's empress. Was she going to lose them?

She looked up at Long San, who smiled gently at her and asked, "Are you really alright?" Feng Ning shook her head, and then Long San took her hand and slowly walked towards their residence.

Back home, Long San went to the kitchen to light the fire and cook noodles for her. Feng Ning stood by, watching him. The firelight reflected off his slightly flushed face as he kneaded the dough, chopped vegetables, and picked out scallions, his movements swift and efficient. Feng Ning stared at him blankly, at his broad shoulders, strong arms, and gentle profile. In her heart, Feng Ning thought: This is my husband, I won't give him to anyone else.

But then she felt a little confused. If she wasn't Feng Ning, then who was she?

The water on the stove boiled, and Long San opened the pot lid. Steam billowed out, making Feng Ning gasp for breath. She blinked, then blinked again. Long San turned to her and smiled, "It'll be ready soon, don't worry, you little glutton."

Before he could finish speaking, Feng Ning suddenly slumped towards him. In a panic, Long San dropped the dough in his hand and caught her with his outstretched arm.

Feng Ning closed her eyes tightly, her face turned pale, and she actually fainted.

74. The Long couple who met each other

When Feng Ning woke up, she opened her eyes to see the bed curtains. She blinked and remembered that she had fainted in the kitchen.

Turning her head, she saw Long San and an old man who looked like a doctor talking at the door through the bed curtains. She vaguely heard snippets of words like "Congratulations," "Take your medicine," and "Rest more."

Feng Ning curled her lip. What kind of doctor is this? The person is sick and needs medicine, why is he congratulating them? What a gloating guy, so annoying! Long San even smiled at that nasty doctor! Annoying too!

Feng Ning didn't know what was wrong with her; she felt irritable and had a particularly bad temper. She immediately called out, "Long San."

Long San glanced in her direction, quickly saw the doctor out, returned to the room, placed the prescription on the table, and then strode to the bedside. He pulled up the bed curtains, bent down, and embraced Feng Ning tightly, his voice filled with joy and excitement as he repeatedly called out, "Feng'er, Feng'er..."
