Chapitre 26

A stinging sensation struck, and Liu Zhi gasped in pain.

The little girl noticed something was wrong with her, stopped silently, and looked at Liu Zhi with a pitiful expression.

Liu Zhi dared not sit on the sofa any longer and got up, holding her two furry children.

Gege had gained weight and was much stronger than before. Liu Zhi had some difficulty holding her, so she had to put her down. The little dumpling jumped from her arms onto the coffee table.

Meng Yang brought over a glass of milk and placed it in front of Liu Zhi.

"Want to watch TV?" Meng Yang asked.

Liu Zhi hadn't watched TV in a long time, and Meng Yang's words really stirred up his interest.

"Look." Liu Zhi nodded.

The TV hadn't been turned on in a long time. When it was turned on, it showed no signal. Meng Yang tried to fix it for a while before it played successfully.

"What are you watching, variety shows, TV dramas, or news?"

"Whatever." Liu Zhi sat down, holding her cup.

The milk was warm, and it felt comforting in my stomach.

"Then let's go with a variety show. Hunan TV has one airing today." Meng Yang's profile was illuminated by the television light, and his eyes reflected the light.

The variety show was already halfway through, and the guests were playing games, with exaggerated laughter added by the post-production team. Liu Zhi watched expressionlessly, feeling completely out of sync with their jokes.

After drinking more than half of the milk, Liu Zhi held the cup in her hand, placed it on her lap, and gradually became drowsy.

Liu Zhi's back hit the sofa again, and she gasped in pain.

Chapter 28 Daily Life

"Did you bump your back?" Meng Yang reacted quickly, "Don't sit on the sofa, sit on a high chair."

Meng Yang pulled out the coffee table and placed the bar stools in place.

Under Meng Yang's expectant gaze, Liu Zhi reluctantly sat down.

The TV was showing commercials, and Liu Zhi glanced at them twice, finding them extremely boring.

She dared not leave rashly if Meng Yang did not speak.

Sitting higher up changes your perspective. From this angle, Meng Yang appears tiny, leaning against the sofa, with a hint of weariness in his eyes.

Meng Yang's eyes were beautiful; the light within them shone like stars twinkling in the dark night.

Liu Zhi didn't look directly at him, but Meng Yang was all he could see out of the corner of his eye.

The long and tedious advertisement finally ended. Meng Yang came back to his senses and wanted to chat with Liu Zhi. Liu Zhi, feeling guilty, silently sipped her milk.

"Why haven't you finished drinking yet?" Meng Yang asked. "Don't you like milk?"

"No," Liu Zhi said honestly, "because I get sleepy as soon as I drink it."

"Then go to sleep." Meng Yang looked up at Liu Zhi.

"Not sleepy yet." Liu Zhi gulped down the rest of her milk.

The variety show continued, and the production team deliberately marketed a romantic pairing by editing in scenes of the two girls being very intimate.

On the TV screen, two girls gaze at each other affectionately, sweet smiles on their lips.

Upon seeing this, Meng Yang instinctively looked at Liu Zhi, and their gazes met.

Liu Zhi and Meng Yang both felt embarrassed at being caught spying, and awkwardly turned their heads away, no longer looking at each other.

Sitting like this was tiring, so Liu Zhi wanted to rest her chin on her hand and watch TV, but the movement aggravated her wound.

"hiss……"

"I'm not watching anymore, let's get some rest." Meng Yang held up the remote control, waiting for Liu Zhi to make a decision.

Liu Zhi nodded; she really couldn't hold on any longer.

Once out of Meng Yang's sight, Liu Zhi slowly moved to the bedside, lay down, and glanced at the time.

The drowsiness vanished as soon as she got into bed, and Liu Zhi struggled to get up to grab her pajamas, preparing to wash up and rest.

The door opened, and Meng Yang was standing right in front of it, poised to knock.

"What's wrong?" Liu Zhi asked.

"Do you need my help?" Meng Yang asked.

"What kind of help?" Liu Zhi asked curiously.

Meng Yang hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you need my help when you take a bath?"

Liu Zhi's back was swollen and red after being hit, and she couldn't reach the injured area at all.

Liu Zhi's ears suddenly turned red, and she whispered, "I can manage on my own."

"You can call me if you need anything." Meng Yang was just testing the waters, and she knew Liu Zhi would refuse.

Taking a bath was indeed a bit difficult; the fracture site was extremely painful, and Liu Zhi had to be very careful with every movement. Cleaning her back was much harder than before, and having someone help her was definitely a good thing.

After taking a long, leisurely shower, Liu Zhi returned to her room.

The scene before Liu Zhi's eyes greatly surprised him.

"What are you doing sleeping on the floor?" Liu Zhichao asked Meng Yangdao, who was kneeling on the ground arranging bedding.

"To provide care." Meng Yang didn't even look up.

“It’s really not serious,” Liu Zhi said. “There’s no need to make such a fuss.”

"I'm going to make a big fuss about it." Meng Yang straightened the bedding, tried lying down for a moment, and said, "This is my home, I can do whatever I want with it."

Liu Zhining choked up.

Meng Yang took his clothes to the bathroom, while Liu Zhi straightened the professional books on the bedside table and stood in front of the wardrobe for a long time before sitting on the bed.

The landlord sleeps on the floor, while the tenants sleep in a large bed.

Liu Zhi hadn't expected the plot to take this turn.

She picked up the book, sat on the bed, and read for a while, but couldn't concentrate on a single word. Her mind was filled with a jumble of random thoughts.

When Meng Yang came out, drying his hair, he saw Liu Zhi staring blankly at a book.

"Don't you always wear glasses when you read?" Meng Yang tossed his hair. "Has your eyesight improved recently?"

Liu Zhi put down his book and looked at her.

"Why haven't you dried your hair yet?"

"We'll play it later."

Liu Zhi didn't want to tell Meng Yang that she had forgotten where she put the hairdryer when she was packing her luggage.

Meng Yang went back to his room barefoot, showing no awareness whatsoever of being a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine.

Liu Zhi couldn't help but remind him, "Put on your shoes."

Meng Yang was taken aback and followed Liu Zhi's gaze to his feet.

"It's a bit hot after the shower," Meng Yang said sheepishly.

After getting the hairdryer, she automatically and consciously sat down next to Liu Zhi to help her dry her hair.

In return, Liu Zhi also gave Meng Yang a compliment.

At 10 o'clock sharp, Meng Yang turned off the lights.

After a series of rustling sounds, the room fell silent.

As drowsiness crept in, Liu Zhi gradually drifted into a light sleep.

"What position are you in now?" Meng Yang's voice suddenly rang out.

"Prone position," Liu Zhi said in a muffled voice.

“Use the healthy side lying position,” Meng Yang said, looking at the ceiling. “I’ll give you a pillow.”

Liu Zhi did not move.

"Liu Zhi?" Meng Yang asked worriedly, "Is it difficult for you to turn over?"

Liu Zhi: "..."

There was another rustling sound. Liu Zhi followed Meng Yang's instructions and adopted the healthy side-lying position.

"Should I get you another cup?" Meng Yang asked again. "Put the pillow on your legs and your arms on the blanket?"

"Your head and torso should be in a straight line," Meng Yang instructed. "Your torso should lean slightly forward."

Liu Zhi finally couldn't hold back any longer and switched back to the prone position.

“Meng Yang.” Liu Zhi rubbed her cheek against the pillow. “I have a broken posterior rib, and only one. It’s not hemiplegia.”

The set of postures that Meng Yang just mentioned is the complete hemiplegic side-lying position.

Silence fell over the room.

Liu Zhi shifted to a more comfortable position and closed her eyes.

"If anything comes up tonight, be sure to call me," Meng Yang instructed. "Don't be shy."

Liu Zhi: "..."

"Can't you sleep?" Liu Zhi asked in a low voice, adjusting her head to rest on her pillow.

Liu Zhi was often called upon to help during her rest time, and over time, she stopped being grumpy when she woke up.

Meng Yang realized he was being a bit annoying and tried to salvage the situation by saying, "Go to sleep, I won't bother you anymore."

"If you can't sleep, you can chat," Liu Zhi said. "You don't have to go to work tomorrow."

"No need, I'll read a novel for a while." Meng Yang turned over, turning his phone screen away from Liu Zhi.

"It's not good to look at your phone in the dark."

"I know it can cause retinal detachment."
