Chapitre 34

Do you want to know?

"you say."

"Never mind." Meng Yang buried his head in the blanket again. "So embarrassing, so shameful!"

After a short while, Meng Yang popped out again, his cheeks flushed.

"I still want to say it."

Liu Zhi subconsciously pinched her cheek. "Go ahead and tell me. Only the two of us know."

“At that time, I really wanted to question you…” Meng Yang paused, “You passed by there every day, did you ever notice me at Ning Nursing Home even once?”

Meng Yang gave a wry smile. "They probably didn't notice."

“When I tricked you into coming to share the apartment, I was gambling,” Meng Yang said. “If you had noticed that we actually lived in the same building, I would have been exposed that very day.”

Liu Zhi shook her head. "I noticed."

“You’re in the second row on the north side… or rather, the third,” Liu Zhi said. “You had your hair tied in a low ponytail and a bright smile.”

Meng Yang blinked in disbelief.

"Before or after moving in together?"

“Before I moved in with the other people,” Liu Zhi said truthfully, “I would occasionally check on the hair of doctors with different titles.”

Meng Yang was pleasantly surprised. She suppressed a smile and asked, "How's your hair volume?"

“The higher the rank, the less hair you have,” Liu Zhi sighed. “I also experienced severe hair loss during that period.”

“A small amount of hair loss is normal,” Meng Yang said.

"There's some on the comb after washing my hair, and a whole bunch of it is on the floor." Liu Zhi tossed her hair. "Look at it now."

She was backlit, her fingertips digging into her hair, her head tilted slightly upward, surrounded by a soft halo of light.

Meng Yang was so captivated by Liu Zhi's actions that he completely forgot about checking the amount of hair.

She turned over, hugged Liu Zhi, and buried her head in her arms.

"What's wrong?" Liu Zhi bent down and rubbed Meng Yang's head.

"Don't be so seductive, okay?" Meng Yang said in a muffled voice, "You're too good-looking."

Liu Zhi was both amused and exasperated.

"I don't."

“You do,” Meng Yang whispered, “Every time you do this, I think about it, I always think about it…”

"What do you all want?"

"Everyone wants to grab you and kiss you." Meng Yang went all out. "Will you let me kiss you?"

Liu Zhi touched her lips with her index finger.

"You've gone astray!" Meng Yang's heart was pounding. He leaned closer and pecked Liu Zhi.

Chapter 32 Finding a Partner

Meng Yang seemed unsatisfied, but Liu Zhi saw through her and asked bluntly, "Isn't that enough?"

"Not enough." Meng Yang showed no embarrassment. "One more kiss?"

Liu Zhi took the initiative to move closer.

This time, Meng Yang was determined and much more serious than before. Liu Zhi didn't react for a moment and was pressed down by Meng Yang's kiss.

Their fingers were intertwined, their breaths mingled, and when Meng Yang came to his senses, he realized that he had done something big.

Liu Zhi finally lost her composure and leaned against the bed wall, her breathing unsteady.

After finishing, Meng Yang immediately shrank into the blanket and said in a muffled voice, "Turn off the light quickly, I have to go to work tomorrow."

The person being ordered around remained in that position, still immersed in surprise.

"How can it be so powerful?" Liu Zhi thought to himself.

After a while, Liu Zhi turned off the light and lay down on her side.

Meng Yang suddenly threw back the covers and stared intently at Liu Zhi.

Liu Zhi felt her ears burning.

"Liu Zhi," Meng Yang said, "Are you really 1.7 meters tall?"

"One meter seventy-three." Liu Zhi whispered.

"You're not even as tall as me," Meng Yang said, somewhat resentfully.

"Why?" Liu Zhi blinked.

"Could you be any more cowardly?" Meng Yang asked, his question striking straight to the soul.

Liu Zhi: "..."

Liu Zhi was about to speak when Meng Yang interrupted her.

"Okay, stop talking, the more you talk, the more frustrated I get. Go to sleep."

Liu Zhi said softly, "Good night."

Meng Yang turned over, his back to her.

"Don't you want to rest your head on your arm today?" Liu Zhi moved closer to Meng Yang.

Meng Yang pondered for a moment, then silently moved into Liu Zhi's arms, still with his back to her.

Liu Zhi hugged her from behind.

This position gave Meng Yang a great sense of security, and she couldn't help but turn around and bury herself completely in Liu Zhi's arms.

Liu Zhi pulled his arm back and rubbed her head.

"Is this okay?" Liu Zhi asked.

Meng Yang nodded in her arms.

Liu Zhi patted her back gently, holding Meng Yang like she was comforting a child.

"Go to sleep..." Liu Zhi murmured, "Go to sleep."

The following day, Meng Yang had no choice but to resume her life as a corporate slave.

Liu Zhi was very self-disciplined; she woke up even earlier than Meng Yang and was never idle. Meng Yang had tried to stop her from doing housework more than once, but Liu Zhi just wouldn't listen.

While Meng Yang was washing up, Liu Zhi was making breakfast.

While Meng Yang was eating breakfast, Liu Zhi was reading literature.

When Meng Yang left, Liu Zhi began to do some simple cleaning.

...

Liu Zhi seemed to have become a full-time housewife, with housework and taking care of her pets becoming her entire life.

When Dr. Jiang came to visit Liu Zhi at noon, he was shocked by the scene before him.

Dr. Liu, who is usually meticulous, walks with a brisk pace, and is so busy that he seems to risk his life, is wearing a beige sweater and an apron, wielding a spatula.

Dr. Jiang looked surprised when he saw Liu Zhi, and Liu Zhi looked embarrassed when she saw Dr. Jiang.

The person was brought by Meng Yang.

After Liu Zhi took sick leave, Dr. Gu came from the emergency room and took over Liu Zhi's position as general manager. Dr. Jiang was also taken over by Dr. Gu.

Dr. Gu's wedding was scheduled for the Lantern Festival. Liu Zhi didn't want to go to crowded places, so Dr. Gu sent her a message inviting her to the wedding banquet. After giving her a gift, Liu Zhi remained silent.

Dr. Jiang had wanted to visit Liu Zhi a few days ago, but Dr. Gu repeatedly instructed her to make sure Liu Zhi was notified when she visited the patient.

This was no problem for Dr. Jiang, who had a feeling that Meng Yang could help.

During lunch break, Dr. Jiang knocked on the door of Meng Yang's clinic and explained his purpose.

Meng Yang smiled gently and said calmly, "Liu Zhi has always lived with me."

Dr. Jiang was startled, and a multitude of thoughts popped into her head.

She swallowed hard, waiting for Meng Yang to make arrangements.

Dr. Jiang, carrying milk and fruit, followed Meng Yang to Nan Jing Royal Garden.

The moment Dr. Meng pushed the door open, Dr. Jiang heard Liu Zhi's voice.

"What brings you back at noon today?" Liu Zhi's voice held a hint of joy. "I'm still cooking, wait a moment."

Dr. Meng, unfazed, put down her bag, changed into slippers, and went to the kitchen.

"I've brought someone back for you. Go out and take a look," Meng Yang said.

Liu Zhi took a few steps back and saw Dr. Jiang standing outside.

The atmosphere became awkward for a moment.

"Hello, Dr. Liu." Dr. Jiang greeted him with a smile.

Liu Zhi regained some of her usual composure, quickly took off her apron, and led her to the living room.

Dr. Jiang's expression changed so quickly that he secretly glanced at Dr. Meng and saw her leaning against the kitchen door, smiling at Dr. Liu.

"Teacher Liu, have you been feeling any better lately?" Dr. Jiang asked anxiously.

For some reason, she always felt a sense of pressure whenever she faced Liu Zhi. This pressure stemmed not only from her status but also from Liu Zhi's excellence.

Liu Zhi said calmly, "It's much better."
