Chapitre 14

How to raise it?

Ji Zhaoming had neither money nor friends, and even with all his might, he was no match for a robot's hand.

He didn't think of anything else, because Ji Zhaoming had lived for so long, and he didn't even know what love was, let alone holding hands.

Hearing Gu Yunzhou's words, he chuckled, his eyes curving into crescent shapes, and he broke free from Gu Yunzhou's embrace.

Saying it was a struggle wouldn't be entirely accurate; Gu Yunzhou used very little force, afraid of hurting him.

Even though Gu Yunzhou wanted to hold the person in his arms and never let go, he always controlled the strength he used.

Gu Yunzhou lowered his eyes and stared at Ji Zhaoming. He watched Ji Zhaoming take a few steps back, pause, and then take a small step back towards him, stopping only a step away.

Ji Zhaoming hugged the rabbit tightly, his small face tilted upwards, revealing a section of his slender neck. He blinked quickly and replied with a smile, "In this situation, it's clearly you who's raising me, isn't it?"

Gu Yunzhou said, "Am I taking care of you?"

"Isn't that right?" Ji Zhaoming put the rabbit on one side of his arm and stretched out one hand to count on his fingers: "They provide a place to stay, three meals a day, and they even take me out to play."

Thinking of this, Ji Zhaoming sighed, "I'm living such a decadent life."

Gu Yunzhou glanced at the rabbit in Ji Zhaoming's arms and quickly made the equation in his mind.

He raised Ji Zhaoming, and Ji Zhaoming raised rabbits.

Gu Yunzhou: ...

Gu Yunzhou said, "Mm."

Hunters always have enough patience to wait for their prey to peek out.

Ji Zhaoming thought that Gu Yunzhou had tacitly agreed with this statement.

The rabbit's fur was so soft and warm that Ji Zhaoming couldn't help but hug it even closer. Seeing this, Gu Yunzhou took out the hand warmer and was about to hand it over when Ji Zhaoming suddenly shook his head: "I have enough with the rabbit. Are you cold? You can use the hand warmer."

"Robots wouldn't be afraid of the cold," Gu Yunzhou shook his head silently.

Ji Zhaoming asked, "May I walk a little further?"

Ahead was a towering mountain peak that seemed to reach into the clouds, its top invisible, shrouded in layers of white clouds, and covered in snow. Just looking at it made Ji Zhaoming's eyes blur.

There was no reason for Gu Yunzhou to refuse.

However, he took out another pair of shoes and made Ji Zhaoming put them on.

After Ji Zhaoming took off his shoes, his feet dangled in the air, exposed to the cold air. His fair toes curled up, covered with a light peach-colored layer from the cold.

Ji Zhaoming's feet were very small; Gu Yunzhou could easily grasp them with one hand and pull them onto his thigh.

Gu Yunzhou sank one leg into the snow, ensuring that not a single snowflake touched his king.

After changing his shoes, Gu Yunzhou stood up and was about to dust off his clothes when his hand suddenly stopped in mid-air. He then put it behind his back and said, "Let's go."

*

The mountain was very high, and Ji Zhaoming started panting after climbing halfway up.

It has to be said that contemporary college students, who are used to being lazy, only put in their best effort during physical education tests. At other times, they are out of breath even climbing a staircase, let alone walking on a snow-covered mountain.

It's unclear where Gu Yunzhou found those shoes, but at least they wouldn't sink too deep. Ji Zhaoming didn't feel tired until he reached halfway up the mountain. He grabbed a tree branch, used his arm to pull himself up another step.

I was staggering and almost fell.

Just as Ji Zhaoming was about to call for a break, his hand touched a thorn on a branch, and the pain made him let go.

He leaned back.

He was then grabbed by the back of the neck.

It's the same method as catching a rabbit.

Just as Ji Zhaoming was about to complain, the hand that was on the back of his neck immediately changed position, gently placed on his back, and with a little force, lifted him up.

Ji Zhaoming straightened up: "Thank you."

Fortunately, it was just a scratch from a branch; the cut wasn't big, but it still bled a little.

Just as Ji Zhaoming was about to put his hand in his mouth, Gu Yunzhou took out a plaster first.

It was clearly just a small wound, but Gu Yunzhou sprayed layer upon layer of ointment on it and finally finished it off with a band-aid. Gu Yunzhou instructed, "Don't let it get wet."

Fortunately, Gu Yunzhou applied the medicine in time; otherwise, the wound would have healed an hour later.

Ji Zhaoming still said thank you.

Gu Yunzhou frowned, about to speak, when suddenly something rushed out of the woods, charging headlong into Ji Zhaoming's arms.

One rabbit was enough to annoy Gu Yunzhou, let alone a second one. Gu Yunzhou quickly caught the rabbit.

It was a little fox with a tail that was as red as if it were burning with flames. After being caught, it became very docile and let out a few meek cries.

The rabbit in Ji Zhaoming's arms was also unconvinced and squealed a few times as if it had encountered an enemy.

It's like they're competing to see who's more pitiful.

Ji Zhaoming stroked the rabbit's head until it calmed down, then smiled and went to comfort the little fox.

The little fox swayed its tail, squinted its eyes, and let out a few comfortable meows, but unfortunately, its neck was being held by someone, and its paws were flailing wildly.

Ji Zhaoming placed his hand in front of the little fox's paw and tentatively moved closer.

The little fox grabbed Ji Zhaoming's hand with its soft cushion.

After confirming that there was no harm, Ji Zhaoming smiled faintly and said, "It's alright, you can let go now."

She looked up and met Gu Yunzhou's eyes.

He seemed to see a hint of grievance in her expression, but it vanished in an instant, leaving Ji Zhaoming stunned in place.

He didn't come to his senses until the fox was put down.

Just as the little fox was about to dart into the forest, it was caught again. It stood up menacingly, revealing the sharp claws hidden beneath its small body.

Gu Yunzhou's expression remained unchanged: "Dangerous species."

After deftly cutting off the sharp fingertips, Gu Yunzhou finally let go of her hand.

"Beastmen?" Gu Yunzhou shook the little fox.

Beast races are widely distributed, with many species and types. For example, the rabbit that Gu Yunzhou caught earlier belonged to the type that had not yet developed intelligence.

But this one in front of me...

The planet where the robot lives is not one that just any random thing can enter. Although this fox retains its original form, it is quite intelligent and Gu Yunzhou guesses that it is a beast that has gained sentience.

Ji Zhaoming also leaned closer out of curiosity: "Is this the beast race?"

It raised its paw and then lowered it, scratching its head and foolishly moving forward, just like any other animal, but even less dangerous than him.

Gu Yunzhou glanced silently at Ji Zhaoming's exposed skin, which would turn blue from any bump or bruise, and said, "Hmm, he looks small, but he's actually quite dangerous."

After all, the Orcs can enlarge their original form several times over.

The little fox made a fawning gesture.

Gu Yunzhou said, "Master, please wait a moment, I will have someone throw him out."

All races know that robots obey no one but their leader, and would never recognize a second master.

The person in front of them, Gu Yunzhou, was the leader of the robots.

Even he has acknowledged the leader?

There's not a single word about it!

The little fox couldn't help but glance at Ji Zhaoming several times.

Delicate and frail, that's how "humans" are described in historical records, but...

He touched Ji Zhaoming's wrist.

It's too soft and too thin; compared to a robot, it's far too insignificant.

Especially the red string, which was rather large and loosely wrapped around her thin wrist.

The warmth from her skin slowly spread, a sight completely at odds with the robot's cold, aloof image, even making the little fox wonder if it was really a robot.

But how can someone who isn't a robot be the leader of the robots?

The little fox stood there, completely stunned.

Gu Yunzhou took Ji Zhaoming's hand and put it back under the cloak to block out the cold temperature outside.

He changed his form of address: "Your Majesty, be careful of the cold."

Little fox: !!!

He remembered that rumor!

The true masters of the robots are not their leaders, but humans.

They call their human beings "King".

So, this is a human?

The little fox peeked out again, looking around curiously.

It was just like what was described in the book, but not quite what I had imagined.

He had always thought that humans who could communicate with robots should be over ten meters tall, like giants, with imposing figures, eyes the size of copper bells, and speaking in a gruff voice.

In any case, they are completely different from the person in front of them.

The little fox's eyes were crystal clear, and its rolling eyes weren't annoying at all. Ji Zhaoming leaned closer and asked with a smile, "Has he gained sentience?"

The little fox caught sight of Gu Yunzhou's curled fingers, instantly feigning ignorance. It wagged its tail and wrapped it around Ji Zhaoming's wrist, making a few gurgling sounds in its throat as if it didn't understand.

Ji Zhaoming asked curiously, "So cute after gaining sentience?"

Actually, he meant to say "silly".

“He’s pretending to be stupid,” Gu Yunzhou said, pulling Ji Zhaoming aside.

Orcs love to play dumb.

That's what they said, but the hand that wanted to throw the little fox away remained in mid-air and ultimately didn't move.

The little fox realized that the one who could make the final choice here was their king. He clung to Ji Zhaoming's hand with all four limbs and tail, and took advantage of the opportunity to pull the little rabbit aside, thus monopolizing Ji Zhaoming's palm.
